WRT55AG Ver. 2 frustration

Hi, hope someone can help me. It seems like every time I turn around, I cannot access the internet and then have to go through the whole process of resetting the darn thing and going to the http://192.168.1.1 site. Now I can't even get in that site to finish the configuration. It keeps saying "page cannot be displayed" Everything works fine going directly through my cable  but I get nothing once I hook up the router and try it that way. I have had this since Christmas and am about to Ebay it and find something else. Nothing but headaches. I don't think I should have to be resetting it every other day. Going back to just one computer is not an option here. Any suggestions? My computer and the kids computers are side by side. I am not computer literate so if someone else can suggest an alternative other than the wireless I would appreciate it. In the meantime, any suggestions on how I can get into the http site? This thing is driving me crazy.

    I just check the firmware release info for this router that it does not shows 1.30 firmware as ever existed. Then I check the firmware info for the EU model and found that your firmware 1.30 was release for EU models only. So probably you have an EU model of WRT55AG and for this model the latest firmware is the one that you are using. Check this link for more info.

    I have the correct firmware. My problem is unable to connect my dell 1501 wireless NIC to my WRT55AG using WEP. I am running Vista basic. I when I view status " local connection". I can connect with WEP off. I have reset the my keys. I have disable and enable the NIC. I have reset my router. I have rebooted my cable modem. I have change cable modem. I can connect wired to the world but not wireless. Is there any know issues with WEP.

  • Xbox 360 &WRT55ag drops my connection! Please help...

    My dilema, when playing a game over xbox live through my router randomly my router disconnects and reboots.  It does not matter if i am hosting a game or not but ofcourse when hosting it is much more likely.
    My specs.
    Router WRT55AG ver 2 (microsoft recommended firmware)
    ISP - Comcast
    I connect wired through port 1.  There is one lap top that connects wireless.
    Basicly when playing at least 1 out of 4 games or more frequently with out lag or warning i get disconnected from the game.  The router losses all lights active lights then ALL lights turn on together then back off once or twice.  Shortly after that the router reboots byitself like there was a power outage and i regain my connection once i sign back in.
    please give me some help and advice as both my isp and comcast have pretty much passed the buck.

    Access setup page of router ......
    Please click on the tab "Application and gaming" and click on sub
    tab "Port range forwarding"
    1) On the first line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box
    type in 88, in end box type in 88, in protocol keep it both, in ip
    address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box.
    2)   On the second line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box
    type in 3074, in end box type in 3074, in protocol keep it both, in ip
    address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box.
    3) Now save the settings
    4) Once you return to the setup page, click on the tab "Administration"
    and disable the UPNP and save the settings.
    5) Now assign the given ip address on your xbox
       ip address :- 192.168.1.20
       subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0
       default gateway :- 192.168.1.1
    Please assign the dns address on the xbox
      primary dns :- 4.2.2.2
      secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1
    6) Please try to test your xbox live.

  • Error 109C ImportProcessServer.exe while importing a .mp4 clip in PPRO CS4 ver 4.2.1

    I just purchase Adobe Premiere Pro a few days ago - and subsequently updated it to Ver 4.2.1.  A started a new project - I tried to import some video footage I just shot with a GOPro Hemet Cam while skiing at our local mountain.  I can easlily see the clip using Real Media Player - or the Quick Time player.  It is a 10.9 MB ... 7 second MPEG-4 movie clip.  File name is "gopro0030.mp4"
    I created a "bin" called video .... then right clicked to import the file.  You can see the file name in the media browser.  But the file would not import.  I received this error message:  "109C ImporterProcessServer.exe  Application Error.  The instruction at "0x05efcac" referenced memory at "0x00000014".  The memory could not be read. CLick OK to terminate."
    This is very frustrating - I just purchased the software - and it won't import a 7 second video clip!  It did import still fotos with no problem.  What can I do?

    I would just like to add that I have also tried to change to extension of the file from .mp4 to .mov
    After doing that - I was able to import the file .... 1280x960 (1.0) Alpha 29.97 fps - thats what it says ..... but the file is just a black screen - even when I drag it into the timeline.

  • Can't connect PlayBook to *my* WPA2 wifi (D-Link Wireless N Router) - very frustrated

    I'm gettting massively frustrated with this and would appreciate any assistance.
    OK, so to start I'm a developer and I've managed to use my PlayBook for months, connecting to various WiFi networks without issue... except at home.
    I have actually connected to it 100's of times, but the connection is flakey and often it fails to connect because it can't get an IP Address (my router is set to offer up 100's of them by DHCP... ONLY my PlayBook has issues getting one)
    I have thus far had no issue connecting the following devices to my router:
    Laptops (5 different brands/models),
    iPad,
    iPod (4 different devices)
    Blackberry phones (3 different models)
    iPhone (2 different models)
    but the PlayBook always seems to have issues...
    I've tried connecting using the "sync" WPS feature both by pressing the button on the router, as well as entering a PIN on the router config page - no luck.
    I've tried entering the correct password multiple times - no luck... it always fails to get an IP Address.
    I've even pre-assigned a dedicated IP Address to the MAC Address of the PlayBook... (all my other devices skip it) yet the PlayBook won't take it.
    The router is a D-Link DIR-615 H/W /ver C1, Firmware ver 3.13NA Wireless N.
    Its entirely possible that I've goofed something up, and I'm willing to try anything to resolve it - however if anyone else is having similar issues please chime in... and for anyone at RIM with 5min free... a quick "paranoia" once over look at the connecting / IP gathering code in this area would be greatly appreciated... in case there's an odd "off by 1" error of some kind in this area.
    Finally, I'm not sure if there is any more info to provide when the PlayBook does fail to get an IP... but if there is an error message or log that us users can look at (or get in an OS update) it would be helpful in trying to diagnose why the connection fails.

    I was having the same issue until yesterday.
    After spending a couple of nights dealing with BB Support techs, I came up with this steps and worked for me, even though that Playbook should connect automatically as other devices do. Moreover, of course I am not going to ask everyday the IT guys for a modem reset
    Here it goes :
    1- If you own a lap top/pc connected to your work Wifi network, open the network adapter window on the PC. Go to wifi adapter and left-click on properties in order to display detailed connection status.
    2- From there you may obtain a valid subnet mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS.
    3- Since the IP Address was already obtained by your Playbook while trying to connect, it will be asking for the same IP each time, so write down the Playbook  IP too. You can access it from the wifi? Icon on the wifi configuration script on the playbook.
    (The issue here was that for some reason, my Playbook on "auto IP mode" was choosing a different default gateway number than the correct one. I still can't figure why, but I'm not going to invest more time on it, until a new software update becomes available and go from there.)
    4- In your playbook tap the wifi icon and go to saved networks, tap on edit (pencil) and delete your office previous connection.
    5- Create manually  a new wifi connection and unselect "auto IP mode". You will have the opportunity to copy all the information mentioned above. IP, Subnet Mask, Primary DNS. Secondary DNS and Default Gateway.
    6- Tap save and connect.
    Hopefully you Playbook will be online and ready to navigate.

  • Extremely Disappointed and Frustrated with ZFS

    I feel like crying. In the last 2 years of my life ZFS has caused me more professional pain and grief than anything else. At the moment I'm anxiously waiting for a resilver to complete, I expect that my pool will probably fault and I'll have to rebuild it.
    I work at a small business, and I have two Solaris 11 servers which function as SAN systems primarly serving virtual machine disk images to Proxmox VE cluster. Each is fitted with an Areca 12 port SATA controller put in JBOD mode, and populated with WD Caviar Black 2TB drives (probably my first and biggest mistake, was in not using enterprise class drives). One system is configured as a ZFS triple mirror, and the other a double mirror, both have 3 hot spares.
    About a year ago I got CKSUM errors on one of the arrays I promptly ran zpool scrub on the array, and stupidly I decided to scrub the other array at the same time. The scrub quickly turned into resilvers on both arrays as more CKSUM errors were uncovered, and as the resilver continued the CKSUM count rose until both arrays faulted and were irrecoverable. Irrecoverable metadata corruption was the error I got from ZFS. After 20+ hours of attempted recovery, trying to play back the ZIL I had to destroy them both and rebuild everything. I never knew for certain what the cause was, but I suspected disk write caching on the controller, and/or the use of a non-enterprise class flash drive for ZIL.
    In the aftermath did extremely thorough checking of all devices. I checked each backplane port, each drive for bad sectors, SATA controller onboard RAM, main memory, ran extended burn-in testing, etc. I then rebuilt the arrays without controller write caching and no seperate ZIL device. I also scheduled weekly scrubbing, and scripted ZFS alerting.
    Yesterday I got an alert from the controller on my array with the triple mirror about read errors on one of the ports. I ran a scrub which completed and then I proceeded to replace the drive I was getting read errors on. I offlined the old drive and inserted a brand new drive and ran zfs replace. Re-silver started fast and then the rate quickly dropped down to 1.0MB/s, my controller began spitting out a multitude of SATA command timeout errors on the port of the newly inserted drive. Since the whole array had essential froze up, I popped the drive out and everything ran back at full speed, resilvering against one of the hot spares. Now the resilver soon started uncovering CKSUM errors similar to the disaster I had last year. Error counts rose and now my system dropped another drive off in the same mirror set and is resilvering 2 drives in the same set, with the third drive in the set showing 6 CKSUM errors. I'm afraid I'm going to lose the whole array again, as the only drive left in the set is showing errors as well. WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!
    So I suspect I have a bad batch of disks, however, why the heck did zfs scrub complete and show no errors? What is the point of ZFS scrub if it doesn't accuratly uncover errors? I'm so frustrated that these types of errors seem to show up only during resilvers. I'm beginning to think ZFS isn't as robust as advertised....

    FMA does notify admins automatically through the smtp-notify service via mail notification to root. You
    can customize this service to send notification to your own email account on any system.
    The poster said he has scripted for ZFS, but I don't know if that means reviewing zpool status or
    FMA data.
    With ongoing hardware problems, you need to review FMA data as well. See the example below.

    cant believe it nobody reply.. very dissapointed ..i bring my mac to experrt and he reset my mac to the original version 10.6.8 .. n seriously after it done.. the connection as i mentioned which annoyed me settled and it works like a charm.. when i try to check update my software ...it showned combined software for 10.6.8.. however i still afraid to update it.. i'm still in trauma...

  • ITunes ver.7.0.1.8 and Outlook

    Greetings!
    I've just upgraded to ver 7.0.1.8, and so far the most frustrating thing for me is not being able to sync with my Outlook 2002 (contacts & calendar), as I was able to do with the older version (I believe 6.0.5.20)
    I have noticed that quite a few people are having this same problem, and unfortunately it appears like Apple does not even have the courtesy to respond to these concerns, much less offer a solution.
    I'm happy with my Office 2002 suite, and have no reason to upgrade it at this time.
    My question: Is there a safe way to revert back to an earlier version of iTunes? My media files are stored in a separate folder, but I'm not sure where the album art files are stored, and I would like to save them if possible.
    Any assistance appreciated.

    Okay I got the garbled audio with 7.01. Did the fix
    and updated to 7.01.8. Now the audio/sound is fine.
    But when ever I run itunes it hogs half to 60
    percent of my cpu. And running anything else, such
    as browsing the internet puts the PC to the wall,
    running at 100percent. Talk about slow. Is this
    me, does anyone else experience this problem?
    Granted iTunes always was a big cpu user, but nothing
    like this with version 7 !!

    It was suggested at iloungethat i uninstall quicktime and reinstall it with version 7.1.3 and to uninstall and reinstall iTunes with 7.0.1.8. Okay...did it. Same issues remain, in fact for some reason I am back to garbled audio and the cpu hog issue remains. I am going to try the quicktime disable of direct 3d suggestion. take 10 deep slow breaths, I'll get back. LOL.

  • Recently, since upgrading to ver. 8.0.1, videos are extremely choppy, scrolling is choppy and loading pages is slug slow. I have a very fast quad core i7 processor and plenty of RAM & HD space.

    Sometimes a video will start smooth but within moments it becomes very choppy and jumps from image to image. The browser itself does the same thing where it bogs down to a crawl and scrolling is also very choppy. Very frustrating. I have been using Firefox for years now since it first hit the scene, but until I upgraded to ver. 8 this did not happen.

I have unchecked all security and my computer says it is updated and everything that I use in foxfire says the plugin are missing or to download the flash player. I am so frustrated I do knot know what to do.

  • Downgrading back to ver 11?

    I'll admit, I am not a fan of the redesign UI for version 12. Especially the Get Info screen. I meticulously tag and organize my tracks, and the recent upgrade has made the way I manage my music a million times more cumbersome. I cannot begin to explain how annoying it is to see the Composer field and Grouping field shifted in position. Or that they show auto populated drop down lists--that will be auto selected if my cursor happens to be too close. Or that the genre field is so annoying to traverse now. Nothing about any of this seems intuitive at all (to me, at least). Frankly, in the past two days I've used 12, I've been nothing but frustrated.
    Is there an easy way to downgrade back to 11? A way that would allow me to keep my playlists and metadata (date added, play counts, checked vrs unchecked track, etc) in tact? I've been trying to research the topic for the better part of an hour now and all I've been seeing is vague or misleading information. I've gathered that exporting a library.xml file will keep a list of songs and playlist for the library, but doesn't actually keep the metadata. And I've read that the itunes.itl file stores the metadata (amongst other things) but copying and moving that file only works if the receiving itunes is the same version it was taken from.

    Okay, think I figured it out. I used the information from here. Step 1 says to Export the Library, however in addition to this I copied all the ".itl" files located in the iTunes/Previous iTunes Libraries sub directory (including the iTunes Library.itl on the off chance things went belly up so I could restore to vers 12.)
    Between Step 7 and 8, before I opened the newly reinstalled vers 11, I went back to the iTunes folder and cut the iTunes Library.itl file and pasted it to my desktop if I needed access to it again. I then went to the files I copied from the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and copied the file marked with the most recent release date. I then pasted it into the iTunes folder that I just cut that previous file from. I then renamed the newly pasted file to simply "iTunes Library."
    I then launched iTunes 11, and it had all my library intact including metadata and playlists. I honestly didn't think the playlists would end up salvageable, so I didn't end up needing the Exported Library from step 1. However, probably best to err on the caution side and save both the Exported Library and the itl files.

  • WRT54G ver 2 Mac and PC issues

    a WRT54G ver 2, firmware v4.21.1 (latest available for this model),
    two PC desktops wired (192.168.1.101) - second desktop not used much),
    a PC laptop wireless (169.254.58.14),
    a Mac Desktop wireless (192.168.1.104),
    and 2 Mac Laptops (169.254.75.54) (169.254.254.36).
    The problem is...
    When one of the wireless computers is turned on it won't connect unless the router is powered down and back on. It will be fine until one of the other wireless computers are turned on and now it doesn't connect. It is possible to get them all simultaneously connecting, but difficult. It seems to be in the timing. I still haven’t nailed it down. Frustrating...
    The questions...
    Did I give enough information?
    Can I do what I want with this router or do I need to upgrade?
    If can do, what settings?
    If can't, new hardware recommendations?

    Thanks! I had already downloaded and installed the latest firmware, but it didn't really help. I set the parameters you described, and bam, all wireless devices work. I shut down and restarted each one to verify, and they can access the network!

    Trying to convert video in .MTS format to wok on Imovie. Doiwnloaded TotalVideo Converter Light. Tried converting it to Avi., .DV, .mp4, imovie, and then dragging to IMovieHd, but it doesn't accept it. nothing is working.
    Frustrated, no format seems to work.

    iMovieHD means - in Apples officiall nomenclatura - vers 5. A very, very obsolete version...
    is this really your version you're using?

  • WRT55AG router dropping wired connection during setup

    Hi, I bought a Linksys WRT55AG router yesterday after my Netgear wireless router gave up on me.
    However, when I am setting up the router with the setup cd, it gets to around step 8 when it is searching for the router, but it keeps flashing that the network cable is unplugged, then it will connect, then it will unplug again. This keeps happening, so I am unable to get anywhere with the setup. It appears that the router is resetting itself as the lights all go off when it says it has been unplugged.
    I know there is nothing wrong with the network cable or network card I am using, as I can connect directly to my modem without any problems.
    This is really frustrating because I cannot easily access the internet without a wireless connection, and the router is brand new!
    Please can somebody help before I pull all my hair out? I can't update the firmware either as I can't keep a good enough connection on the router to do that. Is my router faulty, should I send it back?

    i see. if after trying to use another power adapter, and then you have the same problem, try resetting the router by pressing and holding down the reset button for 30 seconds then power off the router for 30 secs and power it back on.
    If you still have the same problem, you will need to reflash the Firmware of the router.
    go to this link and it will guide you thru the process.:

    then, after reflashing or upgrading the firmware, reset the router again for 15 secs then, reconfigure it again.
