WRT58GS not finding internet

My riouter worked great for about 2 months. Now can not find internet. Setup runs all way to finding internet. have connected cable from modem to router. Setup can not find internet. I can plug cable from modem to pc and internet connects find. Any ideas? Is the router toast?

Access the setup page of the router by launching an
Browser and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When
it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as "admin" (Without quotes)
click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
- Click on enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then again check the WAN Ip address .....

Mini Not Finding Internet!?

For some reason my Mac Mini is not finding the internet even though the internet is working...
Our internet comes into a router which splits it to mine and 2 other macs an imac through Ethernet and another mini through wireless....Both are getting the internet fine.
I however, am not! The diagnostics knows that the Ethernet is there with a green light, infact they are all green apart from the bottom 2 Internet and IP.
I thought it was the cable itself, so took it out of the back and put it into a macbook, the macbook picks the connection up fine; back into my computer, no good yet again.
Re-started a few times, interestingly though, when the OS starts up and mail, messenger and safari all open, the mail and messenger crash each and every time, trying to connect, is this causing anything?
I just don’t understand, its not the cable as the mini knows something is plugged in, its not the connection because 3 other computers are fine.
What is happening?

I was having the same kind of issue and after trying everything I could find, including resetting PRAM and even trying to reset the SMC (http://docs.info.apple.com/article?artnum=303446) I returned the Mini to the local Apple store and they found the problem to be a bad logic board. Hope you have better luck....

I've tried different things to adjust this problem on my laptop, but nothing is working. I uninstalled firefox because this was very irritating. I just reinstalled after being away for 2months and the problem still exists. My laptop settings are for normal display and font sizes and everything is normal when I use internet explorer, but when I use firefox...everything shrinks. When I'm on facebook using apps...it gets even smaller and app screens will not display properly. There is no internet options or compatibility view settings on this new firefox that I can find and I'm out of ideas on how to fix this.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

Openaena does not find internet servers, but does find favorites

Hi all,
when i start openarena and then choose mulitplayer -> internet I get the message "No response from master server"
Strangely, when I uncheck all boxes (only humans, hide private etc) and hit refresh, I do get a list of servers. When I then re-check the bottem 2 checkboxes I still get a list of servers.
I don't get it. Does anybody know what causes this serverlist to sometimes to not show up?

First try, when openarena does find 73 servers, but does give the message "no response from master server":

The alternate method would be something like this (see link below). There are different instructions for bridging your modem depending on which dsl modem you have. You'd just have to google for them. You won't be able to login to the dsl modem after you bridge using the 192.168.1.254, but if for some reason you wanted to.......you'd just have to press and hold the reset button on the dsl modem for around 10 seconds with a ballpoint pen to take it out of bridge mode. Of course you would have to put it back in to bridge mode if you wish to continue with this setup.
After you put your AT&T dsl modem in to bridge mode, you more or less use the default factory settings on the WRT120 except for the following:
1. Change connection type to PPPoE
2. Enter your AT&T dsl account's user name and password
3 Set MTU to manual and enter 1492
4. Make sure "keep alive" for 30 seconds is enabled
5. Change your wireless security to WPA or preferably WPA2 and use a strong password
6. Change your router's password....don't use admin.
7. Connect wan to wan (internet port to internet port) on dsl modem and your WRT120n
and you should have internet with no problems. If it won't connect to internet, just unplug both the dsl modem and the WRT120 for 30 seconds and reboot your computer and plug the dsl modem and WRT120 back in. If your wireless signal fluctuates, you can try changing the channel on the WRT120.
Here is a program called inSSIDer that helps you determine what wireless channels that other people are using in your proximity so you can find a channel that is available (not in use).

Firefox not finding internet. Tried downloading to overwrite but that says it is corrupt

I am able to use internet explorer to go onto the internet so have no problems with connection. Firefox fails to download when I try to overwrite saying that the version is corrupt on your website. Please advise

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Itunes 11 not "finding" internet...not connecting to gracenotes and delivering album/song info

installed itunes 11 and now when i insert a cd to upload to itunes it doesnt find the gracenotes database and populate tracks ets. help!

Is the music showing up in your library but with a little , or is it not showing up in your library at all?
If it's not showing up at all, it might be worth looking around for the iTunes Library file (think of the library file as a sort of sophisticated table of contents for iTunes so it knows what media files you want shown in iTunes, and some special attributes such as ratings, play counts, playlists, etc.) that has reference to these files. Start iTunes holding down the shift key, and you'll eventually get some message about being able choosing a library file (or create a new one). Try opening a few of the .itl files you see on your machine. Hopefully everything is ok, but just sitting in some library file. (Note, this is different from the Edit/Preferences/Advanced setting which says where your music files is, but says nothing about where the iTunes library file is located.)
If you have to re-add the music, you generally will not lose your album and song info (unless these are WMV or other non-MP3-like format). But this meta data is generally included in the MP3/M4A/etc file. The worst you'll generally lose would be the album artwork, and often even that is buried in the music file itself (depends upon how the artwork was originally associated with the media files.)

Why can Airport not find internet?

My internet connection on my desktop Mac seems to have been lost for no good reason. Airport seems to work and shows a good signal on my network but then shows an exclamation mark and says no internet available. This is not true since the laptop i am typing this on is working fine alongside it. I am fairly new to Apple and at a loss.

That is weird..
Reset the TC to factory and start over.
Use all wireless names that are short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
You may also need to manually set the wireless channel for 2.4ghz.. if this is the AC model TC there is no point setting 5ghz channel but you can set the name to be different to 2.4ghz.
Often you need to empty out all the old wireless setups on all your idevices and setup from scratch. Start with the devices that were not working and make sure you can connect.. if it fails on 2.4ghz try another channel. Test 1, 6, 11 and if you have loads of stuff around you.. try 8.
What model TC is this? What firmware?

IWeb Not Finding Internet Connection...

I'm having an issue with iWeb. Ever since I hooked my internet up to a wireless router, when I click 'Publish All to MobileMe' I get a message stating that iWeb can't connect to the internet, despite the every other program working just fine.
Another weird thing is that when I attempt to view my page which is working under the URL, www.forwardfluidmotion.com, I get an error page saying that there is no internet connection, despite being able to view every other web page on the planet.
Oh yeah, I'm in Poland. No clue if that has anything to do with it but thought I would toss it out there.

Thats what is strange... I know others can but for some reason I am unable to. iWeb still says there is no internet connection. Is there a setting I need to apply on my router to allow this kind of access?
I have never had this issue when I was in the States.
I have also found that certain pages are coming up completely jumbled, such as YouTube.
Also, if I hook my MacBook straight to the connection, I can access everything.
Any thoughts?

APE Won't find internet

Help Recent problems in unit not finding internet. Tried everything. Did soft reset and hard reset to factory default settings. Unit flashes yellow. Unit appears on my list of wireless networks with full signal strength but when I click on connect it goes to the "Configure Wireless Settings" window. I follow all the steps and it tells me the "Wireless settings have been configured for this wireless network. Click OK to connect to this wireless network". It does not appear to connect. If I I highlight the network and click on connect again it keeps returning back to the "Configure Wireless Settings" window. A hard cable connection to the modem gives me an internet connection but I cannot get one via the APE. What am I missing? Any suggestions?

Do you know how to access your router's settings? Which computer and OS (OS X or Windows) do you use? It could be a matter of Wifi 802.11n or 802.11ac.
Also, are you able to test a Bluetooth device with your handset? See if your iPhone still picks up a Bluetooth network.

I am constantly receiving an error message that says "Could not find a PPPoE Server." My wireless internet connection seems to working fine, I'm not having any issues. How do I get rid of this error message?

A few weeks ago my computer had lost the connection to the wireless internet. I set it up again and was able to connect to the internet, however since then I've been receiving an error message "Could not find a PPPoE Server." I went back into Preferences and unchecked the PPPoE server option but the error message still pops up.
Any idea how to fix it?

In the Network pane of System Prefences, do you have duplicate services on the left column? When you "set it up again", you might have duplicated a service and both (the good working one and the previous that lost connection) might be trying to connect at the same time.

Internet Recovery could not find installation information on this machine.

Hi there I've bought an iMac the latest model as well as the Macbook Air also the latest model and the Airport Extreme also the lastest model but i am unable to do internet recovery and none of my devices came with operating disc to restore my systems. I'm always prompted with the error "could not find installation information on this machine". Is there anyway I could have this fixed? I've called technical support and they said they cant do anything but for me to bring it to any apple support centre to get it formatted. Its alot of trouble for me to go down leave the machine there for a few days and come back to collect it again. Both my machines are extremely new and could not perform this internet recovery from day one. I even though it was my router so i gave away my WNDR 3700 and bought the apple airport extreme. Please help

It's possible there is a block on your Interet connection. If it works on a Apple network but not yours then that points the finger at your network. If this is a home network then I'd start by changing the DNS settings to:
1. System preferences
2. Network
3. Click Advanced
4. Click DNS tab
5. Click + sign
6. Add 208.67.222.222
7. Click + sign
8. Add 208.67.220.220
9. Click OK.
10. Exit System Preferences
If you are on a business network or any other type of network where someone else has control over it then they may have put certain restrictions on it. In that case you will have to contact the Network Administrator for help.

Internet Connect Could not find a PPPoE server

We just bought the new MacBook Pro and set it all up ok and yesterday bought a D-Link Wireless ADSL router.
We can get onto the D-Link network fine and full signal is shown but when we try to connect the error "Internet Connect: Could not find a PPPoE server" comes up.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
I looked at a couple of other threads with similar tpics but none of them seemed to help me :S
Do I just need to contact BT about it as they are our server or is it something setup wrongly?
