WRT610N v2 (fw b5) Multicast (IPTV) not work

Hi!
See subj. When I disabling filtering of multicast in security page of official firmware and press save button, IPTV sometime work on wi-fi and lan channels, but, when I trying to change TV channel all work of router holds about for 3-5 minutes. I think, that this option (disable multicast filtering) does not work. Router have a very high price in our country, my previos D-Link DIR655 work fine in all same situations, but its price is lower about half of Cisco device. When you can do a normal version of  firmware for WRT610N v2? My mind about CISCO production was some higher...

что за сервис?!!! и это брэнд???
I'm awaiting for answers from cisco technicians... When you can make a useful firmware for WRT610N v2 router with working multicast option?

  • E1200 v1. IPTV (multicast) is not working

    sorry my english.
I have e1200 v1 with last firmware 1.0.03. Device using as AP/switch (no WAN port installed). When I open the TV chanal (239.0.1.3) the pictures 1 sec good and then stoped, device not responding. When TV off, 3 sec later internet works and device up.

If I am not mistaken, you are using your router as a switch or a pass though device, right? If that is the case then there should be a continuous traffic of the packets coming from your main router since the E1200 is just a plain switch and the E1200 will no longer filter the packets passing through. What you can do as of the meantime is to reset the router since the firmware has already been upgraded. Once the router has been reset and reconfigured then you need to observe the performance of the router. If there’s a discrepancy with the router’s performance then there’s a possibility that the router is not working properly and such you can return that router and have it replaced.

  • Multicast Does not work between different VLANS

    Hi,
I have problems with multicast. On the same VLAN i can see the SAP announcement in VLC and play, but on different VLAN i can see SAP but i cant play it. The play turn to pause and the video doesn´t appear.
I have 2 Cisco 6500 switch CORE with GLBP configured but not working. In the second switch i have all interfaces in shutdown. The first core switch have L3 routing enable.
    The Global configurations:

    Hi johnd...
Im using VLC 1.1.2 (i can not update because i have a DVDT2 card to capture the digital terrestrial television and it only work in this version). I have all the firewalls down.
This is the output for the show ip igmp snooping groups on the 2960.

Jon, i revert and this is the output. I put the ip pim rp-address the same of the lookpback that i create previously.

  • Multicast configurator not working

I need help with multicast on Adobe Media Server 5.  When I try to open configurator.html, all i get is the dark gray background.
Im running it from a mapped drive on a Win7 machine. If I do the same thing on another Flash Media Server 4.5, it's fine.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

    - I’m on window7 with A: mapped to \\ams-server\c:\Program Files\Adobe
    - Per your instructions I added A: as a Trusted location inthe Flash Player Global settings.
    - Now I get a grey flash looking progress bar and another grey bar with “Error #2032”
Another important fact is the my computer is not connected to the internet.  That appears to matter.  Do the configurators require an internet connection?
I am able to recreate the Error #2302 issue on other computers that are not internet connected.  Then, when I connect to the internet, the configurator seems to work.
Here is the test I ran
    1. Installed AMS 5 on a laptop while not on the internet.  It plays the flash stream demo fine.
    2. I attempted to open f4mconfig.html and it did not work.  Grey screen, so I added c: to my trusted locations and then I get the Grey bar with Error #2302.
    3.  I connected the laptop to the internet.
    4.  I reloaded f4mconfig.html and it worked fine.
    5. I disconnected from the internet.
    6. I then tried to open the multicast configurator.html and I get the Grey bar with Error #2302
    7.  I confirmed taht f4mconfig.html still works while disconnected from the internet.
Packet captures show that a working f4mconfig.html is doing HTTP GET of these files

  • Multicast in not working with RTMFP

When using RTMFP multicast is working , iam able to see in router , but when viewing stream at remote end on satellite TCP packet are generating instead of UDP .
    Scenario :

The line input on the mini requires a 'line-level' signal, so the only microphones that work are ones that have an amplified output. Standard mics don't generate enough voltage to drive the mini's amplifiers.
That's the reason the mics work with the Griffin device (it has an amplifier) but not the mini directly.

  • Home sharing sporadically not working, fixed by O2 router multicast setting

I've been scratching my head for months about why my Home Sharing was only working sporadically on my home network. Each time it failed the only thing that would sort it out was to reboot my router (an O2 Wireless III router) - a bit of a pain, to say the least.
After trawling round lots of forums yet again, I came across a post in the O2 forums about the wireless "multicast" setting not working properly on the O2 IV router (i.e. when ticked it's actually off, and when unticked it's actually on): http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=347348#p347348 So even though I have an O2 III wireless router I thought it was worth a go and changed the setting (log into the admin of the router, click Home Network in the left menu, then click WLAN:YourNetworkName on the right, then Configure at the top right, and the checkbox is next to "Allow multicast from Broadband Network") and hey presto! The Home Sharing from my iTunes libraries immediately popped up and stayed on!
So if you have sporadic problems with Home Sharing and you're on an O2 box, try this. If you're not on an O2 box but you have the same symptoms, try digging around for a "multicast" setting - that may be where the problem lies.

I couldn't find the Multicast config option on my O2 Wireless Box III so I opted for reloading the router and it did the trick this time.
In the past I also had to spend quite a few number of cycles troubleshooting sporadic connectivity issues and it turned out to be that the O2 Wireless Box III and AppleTV 2 don't connect well via 802.11n, the connection is very unstable and rather you have to downgrade the speed to 802.11g and everything works fine.  As soon as you downgrade and restart the ATV then all devices are visible.

  • WRT610N disconnects and does not work with Vista or media center extenders like the DMA2200

Linksys and all other router manufacturers advertise the greatness of the wireless 5ghz band (especially with 802.11n), but I’m beginning to have my doubts.  It is true that the 5Ghz band is hardly being used so you'll have virtually no one to compete with.  However, the 5Ghz distance in no way compares to 2.4Ghz, and as a matter of fact, I find it to be quite terrible.  At approximately 20 feet away, both my Linksys DMA2200 and HP notebook barely get 1 bar using the 5Ghz N band with my WRT610N router.  In comparison, while using my 2.4Ghz WRT54g router, I get 5 full bars at that range, and at least 2 bars from anywhere else in my house.
I have all Linksys equipment in my house as I have been impressed with all of their 2.4Ghz in the past.  However, I’ve recently upgraded everything to dual-band N equipment and found numerous flaws in each of the new devices, plus none of them really even play well together.  My setup is: Linksys 610n router, DMA2200 media center extender, and a WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter for my laptop – all of which are currently using the most up-to-date firmware. Other devices include a WRE54G extender and  Nintendo Wii.
Problem  #1) The LELA software with the new N devices doesn't even recognize that my DMA2200 is a media center extender.  Using LELA, I should be able to select my media extender and allocate more bandwidth for streaming media.  However, since my extender only shows up as an “unknown network device” those options are greyed out.  I tried to manually change the device to a media center, but still no go.  I suppose you can manually allocate bandwidth in the router setup somewhere, but considering these are all Linksys products, it’s absolutely ridiculous that an option specifically incorporated in the LELA software for a Linksys Media Extender does not work!!!
Problem #2) If you are only using one system with the router, the router might actually work as intended.  For most of us though there are going to be at least 2 or more systems connected to the router (wired, wireless, or a combination of the two) such as a PS3, Wii, laptop, PC, media extender, Xbox, etc.  If that’s the case, you’re probably screwed because you WILL experience frequent dropouts… ESPECIALLY if just one those clients is a VISTA machine.   Check the Linksys forums and you will find that this seems to be a problem with all of the new Linksys routers (610N, 310N, and 110).
Here is a Microsoft article that explains the issue
       http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233/en-us
Problem #3) Because of  problem #2 I will never be able to get rid of the dropouts since my network is using one of Linksys’s media center extenders.  The DMA2200 is essentially a VISTA PC to some extent and accepts DHCP requests the same as a VISTA PC.  Since it is not really a PC though, there is no registry modification that can be done to alleviate the VISTA problem (not that the registry mod really works anyways).  So as long as I try to use my DMA2200 wirelessly with my WRT610N router, the frequent dropouts will occur and there’s nothing I can do about it.  This is REALLY TERRIBLE since the DMA2200 is specifically designed to be used with the WRT610N router in order to take advantage of the 5Ghz band and wireless N transfer rates.  You absolutely need 5Ghz wireless N to efficiently stream HDTV WIRELESSLY, but if you lose your connection every 10 minutes, it is impossible to watch any type of streaming media.
Problem #4) As mentioned already, when the “N” 5Ghz range is working on the WRT510N router, the distance sucks compared to standard 2.4Ghz G, N or mixed mode networks.  You can try to make it better by strictly using N products, disabling the 2.4ghz band all-to-gether, and using the wider 40mhz frequency, but it doesn’t really help.  The higher 5Ghz band is a more concentrated signal and therefore simply does not reach as far as the lower 2.4ghz band.  I wonder why all of these new products state that the 5Ghz range will increase your distance, when in fact it actually makes it worse?
So… basically, this router does nothing that it claims too and is basically rendered useless on any network with a VISTA machine.  This has not been addressed by any Linksys firmware updates or VISTA software updates so there is no reason to even consider using this router if you you’re using VISTA or some type of VISTA Media Center Extender such as the Linksys DMA2200.
Although, I’ve always sworn by Linksys in the past, the amount of wasted time, frustration, and horrible support has really changed my view about them.  I’ve reverted back to my old trustworthy WRT54g router and had to run cable through my house so that I wouldn’t have to box my DMA2200 extender up and let it collect dust in the attic.  It’s really disappointing that I spent all this money to buy this equipment specifically because they’re supposed to work together, but in fact they don’t.  Plus what’s the point of having top notch wireless equipment if you have to run cables in order for them to work?

I have fixed all the IP adresses to avoid the DHCP problem but I still have problems.
    I have sereval scenarioes:
    1. MC < 1Gb wire > WRT610N < 5.0n WIFI > MX
I can see HDTV on this one but it disconnects
    2. MC < 1Gb wire > WRT610N < 2.4b/g WIFI > MX
    No HDTV and disconnections
    3. MC < 2.4b/g WIFI > WRT610N < 2.4b/g WIFI > MX
No HDTV but no disconnections - but very slow and streaming like youtube
    4. MC < 100Mb wire > WRT610N < 2.4b/g WIFI > MX
No HDTV but nice picture - testing for disconnections right now - 30+ min.
    Result:
This test was very good. Stabil streaming, no disconnects for an hour. Won't support HDTV but the rest seem to work fine.
    5. MC < 100Mb wire > WRT610N < 5.0n WIFI > MX
Not tested yet - looking forward to this - might bring me HDTV.
    Result:
This gives HDTV but there is a problem with stability on the streaming but very difficult to see on the picture. Testing for disconnects - now tested for 30 min. - no disconnects.
    This looks really promissing.
I am pretty sure that the WRT610N have a problem in the switching part of the router specially when it has to switch from 1G to WIFI. I bought the WRT610N to get HDTV on WIFI and Cisco markets the DMA and WRT610N as a perfect match. But it definately have problems - i still do not understand their silence about this.
I will come back with the last results when I have them

  • Wrt610n wireless network does not work after firmeware upgrade

    Hi
I just updated my Wrt610n hardware version 1 to the newest firmware, it did finish with sucess, I did factory reset reboot and reconfig. But the wireless network does not work , cant connect computers to it. Did downgrade the firmware to the same it was and restore my settings but still wireless does not work. But router works fine with lan.  Any suggestions? maybe the firmware tosted the router?
    Regards
    Stefan

    Update -
After last reset and reupgrade with the newest firmware for hardware version 1 I could config the router and connect 2 computers with wireless - but only for about 15 mín - then they lost connection and could not reconnect.
I did then get the newest update for hardeware version 2 - just to try and upgraded with that and got success, and now I have reset the router again and config it and those 2 computers are connected and have been for 1 hour now. So seems to be working - is it okay to have the firmware for hardware version 2 on my version 1 router?
Any thought what is going on - could it be that the other firmware had not loaded compleytle or?

  • Multicast rtmp - rtmfp republish does not work (always new netgroup)

publish an multicast video stream with fmle 3.2
start the multicast stream - stop - start
fml should use the old netgroup

    Hi John,
Thank you for your reply. Better late than never! Am glad I
    got a response :-)
It does indeed sound like a caching pb on the server and that
was my initial request the net admins. Unfortunately did not work.
In the meantime I made my case to the net admins that I needed
admin rights to the Roboengine in order to succesully reach my job
objectives and after a some time they accepted :-).
I looked closer and really could not figure out what the pb
was: all the new files were physically there but the TOC, index and
CSH does not update. Accessing the project locally rendered the
    same pb.
My only solution was to delete and republish. Worked fine.
Perhaps somebody could test this behaviour in a different
environment and see what they get?
    Steps to reproduce:
1°) Create an RH project (e.g. Project1.XPJ), create
TOC, index and CSH and publish to the server using a name (e.g.
    Project).
2°) Create another RH project (e.g. Project2.XPJ) create
TOC, index and CSH (different to the first one) and publish to the
server using the name as the initial project (i.e Project).

  • Multicast not working SCCM 2012 SP1

    Hi,
Am having issues getting multicast working with SCCM 2012 SP1 / Server 2008 R2.
We have followed all the guidelines in this forum but still no joy
    - Multicast setting enabled on DP
    - Multicast Enabled on OS Image
    - Task Sequence set to down content when needed
    - SCCM DP and Client are on same VLAN to rule out routing issues
    - Network team confirm all ok there end anyway
    - Boot images / WDS and PXE are all healthy
The PC Boots via PXE ok and runs our windows 7 task sequence, when the task sequence starts it says "Opening multicast session" for about 5 seconds and then disappears. Its as though it tries but then fails. Unicast works fine.
I then set the OS image to "Only use Multicast" which produces the following error in the client SMSTS.log

This is something to double and triple check.  If Multicast is not enabled on the routers/switches properly, this will not work.  If there is a firewall between the client and the distribution point that doesn't have the Multicast ports open, this
    will not work.

  • Jrockit multicast bug on RHEL4, WLS cluster does not works!

    OS and Kernel Version: Linux achilles1 2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed May 17 16:59:36 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
We use Bea Weblogic 8.1SP5 with Jrockit JVM 1.4.2 on RHEL3. We upgraded to operating system to RHEL4, and found that the interface binding for multicast communication does not bind to the correct interface, it is always using the default interface. We tried it from a sample program, and found that the error is in the JVM.
This is a critical error for us, because our application server cluster use multicast for cluster communication.
No error msg. It seems like this BUG:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4082533 but it is solved.
List steps to reproduce the problem:
    socket = new MulticastSocket(i);
    if(s2 != null)
    try
    InetAddress inetaddress = InetAddress.getByName(s2);
    System.out.println("Using interface at " + inetaddress.getHostAddress());
    socket.setInterface(inetaddress);
    System.out.println(socket.getInterface());
    catch(SocketException socketexception)
    throw socketexception;
    }

    Helo,
You can reproduce it by this way (we have 6 RHEL4 servers, problem is the same). We tried with programs written in C (mcast,Tibco), multicast perfectly works on all interfaces on all servers. But in Java:
    Server:
    [wlxapp@webex3]$ uname -a
    Linux webex3 2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed May 17 17:05:24 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Problem - with Bea mukticast tester (or any Java class), using the nondefault webex3-priv interface(eth1):
[wlxapp@webex3]$ java -cp wl9.jar utils.MulticastTest -N webex3_priv -I webex3_priv -A 224.1.1.11 Starting test. Hit any key to abort Using interface at 192.168.1.1 Using multicast address 224.1.1.11:7001 Will send messages under the name webex3_priv every 2 seconds Will print warning every 600 seconds if no messages are received
    I (webex3_priv) sent message num 1
    I (webex3_priv) sent message num 2
    I (webex3_priv) sent message num 3
    Did not receive any message.
But if we use the default webex3 interface (eth0)
[wlxapp@webex3]$ java -cp wl9.jar utils.MulticastTest -N webex3 -I webex3 -A 224.1.1.11 Starting test. Hit any key to abort Using interface at 10.4.20.4 Using multicast address 224.1.1.11:7001 Will send messages under the name webex3 every 2 seconds Will print warning every 600 seconds if no messages are received
    I (webex3) sent message num 1
    I (webex3) sent message num 2 Received message 2 from webex3
    I (webex3) sent message num 3 Received message 3 from webex3
    Works perfectly.
TCPDUMP:Messages are out from server(other srv also see it), so we have problems probably with receiving them:
    [root@webex3]# tcpdump -i eth1
tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on eth1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 96 bytes
    11:42:56.647362 IP webex3_priv.idmz.t-mobile.intra.afs3-callback > 224.1.1.111.afs3-callback: rx type 95 (1472)
    11:42:56.648168 IP webex3_priv.idmz.t-mobile.intra > 224.1.1.111: udp
    11:42:56.648245 IP webex3_priv.idmz.t-mobile.intra > 224.1.1.111: udp
We examined the lsof output, the tester bind to all interfaces, so it should receive the messages:
    [wlxapp@webex3]$ /usr/sbin/lsof -p 11127
    gij 11127 wlxapp 8u IPv4 150320 UDP *:afs3-callback
We tried the test with Java 1.4.2 and 1.5 (Jrockit and Sun), the results are the same.
You can easily reproduce the problem with an RHEL4 server with 2 network interface.
Our real problem that if multicast have problems, our Weblogic clusters does not works.

  • UCCX 7: Network MoH ringback not working with Multicast MoH.

    Hi All,
I have a CUCM and UCCX installed in a Data Centre serving a site across a WAN,  on the site there are agents using CAD and a backup SRST router, unicast MoH was streamed across the WAN from CUCM in G729 format and network MoH (ringback.wav file) from the CTI ports to give ringback to calls been transferred to agents in the call centre.
To conserve BW and have better quality MoH, Multicast MoH was configured to stream the User MoH from the routers flash instead of a G729 unicast stream across the WAN. To get Multicast MoH to work I had to change the MoH streaming codec from G729 to G711u on the CUCM. This enables the CUCM to get signal to the phones to join the Multicast stream on the SRST router when a call is placed on hold but as this is a cluster parameter it stopped the ringback MoH on the CTI ports resulting in no ringback when callers are been transferred to the agents in the contact centre. Is there any way I can get the script to play the ringback.wav file when transferring calls to agents or get the call manager to stream the ringback across the WAN while Multicast MoH is implemented?
Any help or ideas would be really appreciated
    Thanks
    Neil

    Hi,
When the call is ringing on the agents phone CUCM should be sending the appropriate commands to the endpoints to join whatever multicast stream you have configured for network hold. The issue is that no multicast stream is available on that IP address/port number combination. (I assume that you have set the SRST MoH parameters to match what is sent for user hold).
SRST versions up to 7.x only support one MoH stream. However SRST 8.0 has extended this to five streams so I think this could be a solution to your problem. Check out the document below.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cusrst/feature/guide/MOH_srst.html
You will need IOS Release 15.0(1)XA to support this feature.
An alternative would be to stream the MoH from another multicast source. This could be a PC running VLC if things were tight.
Please let us know how you get on.

  • Apple TV does not work with 877W

    Hi all,
I am using an 877W as my DSL router and trying to use Apple TV or other Apple Bonjour services over Wireless. It is simply not working although I tried several IGMP configurations. I've seen some references to 877W issues but they were all about bridging between wired and wireless. In my case though everything is on wireless (PC with iTunes, Apple TV and and iPhone to be more specific). I wanted to ask once more as I've also seen references to people having this setup working ok.
    interface Dot11Radio0
    ip address 192.168.15.1 255.255.255.0
    ip nat inside
    ip virtual-reassembly

    encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm
    ssid Princes
    speed basic-1.0 2.0 5.5 6.0 9.0 11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0
    channel 2472
    station-role root
    end
I tried with igmp snooping on and off with no luck, also it didn't helped to add 239.0.0.0 as a static group to the interface.
If you have apple stuff working on your 8xxW environment I appreciate if you can share your configuration, any other ideas are more than welcome.
    Many thanks,
    Cagri

    Hi Cagri,
Hope you've found an answer to your problem already, if not I had similar issues trying to get mine to work.
I did manage to get it to work in the end, I've added an article to my blog which goes over what I had to do to get it working.
Basically, configured correct multicast-routing groups, IGMP v3, pim dense-mode on both the radio and BVI interfaces and it started working.

  • Adaptiva Software Distribution not working with Cisco APs in Local Mode

A worldwide customer would like to use a new Software distribution system called Adaptiva to replace SCCM within Windows environment. As far as I understand, Adaptiva is designed to work like a snowball system. A single PC at a remote side can be "infected" with new Software and will distribute the package to other PCs within the same IP-subnet, saving WAN bandwidth.
First tests are showing that it is working well with Cisco WLAN solution as long as we are using Flexconnect WLAN APs.
Customer locations with Local WLAN AP design create problems for this new software distribution method.
The WLAN-PCs can be reached from outside, but the establishment of the Client/Server-model between the WLAN Clients is not working. The Port used by this software for communication between clients in each WLAN subnet is UDP Port 34329.
Our WLCs are running at  7.4.130.0. The problem is appearing independently of AP Multicast settings or Broadcast Forwarding.  Enabling Broadcast forwarding without Reboot did not improve the situation.
Global Multicast Mode and IGMP Snooping are also of no influence.
P2P Blocking Action is "Disabled" within the WLAN setup.
Who has any idea what might cause this communication problem between WLAN clients in Local Mode of APs ?
    Thank You for answers
    Wini

I can think of two solutions. You could 1: turn the "auto-lock" to never, so that your phone never sleeps. Or, you could 2: jailbreak your iPhone and install "insomnia". I wish we had the Cisco Mobile app. I usually use wifi/insomnia and turn data off at work since we have wireless pretty much everywhere...

HP Laserjet Pro 1102w Wireless is not working on my MacBook Air Yosemite (v10.10).

All I get under printers is the USB kind and NOT the Wireless/Bonjour kind.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks.

    Hi @Random_Pelican ,
I see that you are having issues setting up the printer on 10.10. I would like to help you out today.
If the printer has a valid IPv4 address and you still can't add the printer as a Bonjour printer, most likely Multicasting is turned off on the router, since your not able to add the printer as a bonjour device and the other devices won't recognize the printer. Just call the router company and have them turn it on.
If the printer doesn't have a valid IPv4 address please try these steps:
Reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometime the Embedded Web Server won't open if it isn't.
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
I will provide the steps for 10.9, which should work the same for 10.10.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Here is a Youtube video of the Laserjet P1102w wireless installation on Maverick.
    Laserjet P1102w.
You may follow the steps instead of watching the video.
You have to connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer to install the printer as a USB device first and then configure the wireless network.
Turn the printer on, connect the USB cable and install the Apple Update that should automatically load.
Then go to the Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.
Highlight the Laserjet on the left side of the window.
Then click on Open Print Queue, click on Settings, click on Utility, click on Open Printer Utility, then click on the HTML Config button.
The Embedded Web Server for the printer will open.
Click on the Networking tab, select Wireless on the left side.
Fill out this information for your network. Status make sure you select Enabled.
    Apply the settings.
Then go back to Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners and click the + sign to add the Laserjet bonjour printer. (might take a couple of minutes to appear) Make sure the printer listed beside use: shows the proper printer name and not the default driver, then click on the add button.
Delete the USB printer from the list from the Printers and Scanners window.
    Disconnect the USB cable.
    Test the printer.
Let me know how you make out.
    Have a great day!
