WRT610N with 4 xbox 360s accessing Xbox live...Assistance Please

I have a DCHP connection to the ISP Comcast. 25mbsp download speed (fat pipe) I live with four roommates and we all have xbox 360s 2 wired and 2wireless and 3 wireless PCs and 1 wired pcs .The PCs I am ok with setting up.
I was about to tackle this when I started going through the settings for this router (feature rich comes to mind).
I have some questions with some of these features so I can get  all four xbox360s connected to xbox live with out getting kicked out or game lag. We have experienced this with our old Belkin.
Single port forwarding, port range forwarding, port range triggering and of course the DMZ are all available for this router and I am requesting some guidance as to set this up.
Should I set up Static IPs for all the xboxes and forward the ports TCP 80; UDP 88; UDP 3074; TCP 3074; UDP 53; TCP 5 to each static IP? Can this router handle opening ports for multiple static IP's? Can I combine single port forwarding with port range forwarding? Should I combine both with setting up Port Range Triggering?
I read through the manual but still am a little perplexed...
Noob needs some guidance
thank you

Thank you for replying and for the solution. I will try it tonite and actually in the link you sent the tech stated:
"These settings will work even if you have one or multiple consoles running behind the router"
So I will be trying this for all four xbox 360 and I will let you know how it goes.
cheers

  • WRT310N Xbox 360's / Xbox Live

I have 3 Xbox 360's hooked up wired to a WRT310N.  How do you get the NAT to show OPEN for all Xbox 360's connected to Xbox Live?  I have tried just about everything currently port range trigging (53,80,88,3074).  I can get one or 2 xbox 360's to show open but I need all 3.  Thanks....J

3 X-Box will not work with the linksys router..At the max 2 X-Box will work at the same time.

  • XOBX/XBOX 360 BOTH ON LIVE

CAN SOMEONE HELP.  I HAVE ROUTER WRT54GV5 CONNECTED TO MY COMPUTER AND XBOX 360 WITH THE LIVE AND GAMING ADAPTER.  DO YOU KNOW IF I PURCHASE ANOTHER GAMING ADAPTER AND HOOK UP ANOTHER LIVE ACCOUNT IF THE ROUTER WOULD SUPPORT ALL THAT?

Just assign one of the xbox's its own IP below the starting IP address in the Setup/Basic Setup SubTab.  Example:  Say your starting IP is 100, which it is by default, you can assign one with 192.168.1.50.  The router will take care of the other through DHCP.  Now if the IP conflict is with a PC IP, then give both xboxes their own.  Something like 192.168.1.25 and 192.168.1.50 then there will be no conflicts.  I actually had to do this with a xbox and PS2 my kids had.  Then for some odd reason it eventually straightened itself out.

  • WRT54G v6 - Troubles connecting XBOX 360 to XBOX Live?

I just purchased a new XBOX 360 and I'm finding that I can't connect to XBOX Live using my WRT54G v6 (firmware version 1.01.1).
If I connect the XBOX 360 directly to my DSL modem, I can connect to XBOX Live.
If I try to connect the XBOX 360 to the WRT54G v6 (using either a direct ethernet connection, or using the XBOX 360 Wireless adapter) I can't connect to XBOX Live.
When I run the diagnostic tests on the XBOX 360, all of my connection tests pass with flying colours.
Has anyone else had this problem?  How do you fix it?

hi, i have just recently bought the wireless adapter for the 360, and i keep getting boot off xbox live when ever my brother turns his PS3 on or off. even when a house call is made or comes in i get booted. if my brother doesnt turn his PS3 on or a call doesnt come in or go out, i can play fine, but once one of those happens i get booted. noone knows what i can do, xbox told me to call linksys, i was never able to talk to a real person on the phone, just machines. does any one have a clue??? i was told to change my NAT, but it's open, so i dont know what to do.

  • WRT160N V3 Two Xbox 360 consoles Xbox live NAT Resolution

Has anyone found a solution to the NAT problems involving two xbox 360s connecting to xbox live using the WRT160N V3 at the same time?  I always get one that reads Open NAT (usually the 1st one to sign in) and one that gets the dreaded Strict NAT type.  I have read of various solutions yet many of them do not resolve the issue.  Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You can try the below mentioned settings and check.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox
    IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
IP Address: 192.168.X.[last part of ip in your device]    e.g. if static ip given to the device was 192.168.X.10 get the last part and put that to the empty box.

  • WRT160N V3 Xbox 360 trouble router randomly resetting PLEASE HELP

For Christmas 2009, I received the wrt160n v3 Linksys by Cisco router. This router worked fine until about early November of 2010, when I would turn on my xbox to play a multiplayer game, and the router would randomly reset and i would lose my connection, as well as all the computers connected to the router would lose their connection to the internet. I actually sent that one back to linksys through an rma and received a new one of the same model and version, and I am still having the same problem. The router even resets when I am not on my xbox, simply just on my laptop. It is incredibly frustrating and cannot seem to find any help on the internet. Does anyone else have this problem? Are there any solutions? Is it my router or could it be my xbox screwing everything up? Any help is welcome, thank you very much

nevermind my router just reset while playing xbox. mtu is 1365, i unchecked that box, and opened my nat type, and it still reset. im starting to get extremely dissatisfied with your products

  • Time Capsule with Xbox 360 Live

    Hi,
I just bought a Time Capsule and it works perfectly except that my NAT type on Xbox Live is now set to strict instead of open. It takes forever to join a online game so it's really annoying me.
    This is my setup:
---> Modem ---> Wire from Modem to Time Capsule (in WAN port) ---> 1 wire from TC to PC and 1 wire from TC to Xbox 360
My PC is running on Windows 7 and I'm using AirPort 5.5.3.
I've tried pretty much all the tutorials I could find online, but unfortunately none of them seem to work. I've set connection sharing to 'share one public IP-address', enables NAT port mapping protocol, added the Xbox Live ports in the Port Mapping Assistant, and my Xbox is using the IP which I set in the mapping assistant.
Has anybody got an idea what I should change to get my NAT type to open? Thank you in advance.

Does your ISP allow pppoe connections?
If so you can setup the 546 in bridge mode.. just use the internal setup wizard, choose bridge, and finish the wizard. Then in TC choose internet tab and for connection type use pppoe and put in your ISP username and password.
This is perhaps the best method. But it depends on the ISP using pppoe which is common in some places and rare in others. For instance in Australia where I am, all our ISP provide pppoe, and most do pppoa as well. In UK and many places in Europe, they use pppoa, which cannot be bridged to a router. So you must bridge somewhere else or use a different technique of handling the problem.
The problem with the 546 in router mode, is that it uses cone nat. This starts to get complicated but some games depend on port forwarding of UDP protocol packets. You can indeed setup port forwarding or upnp in the speedtouch to handle this, but it still fails. There are special commands required to allow port forwarding through NAT.

Although it relates to a different model on a PS3 the basic issue is identical across all the thomson modem products.. and I am very pleased to finally be able to offer a solution. I worked hard with people who actually owned the box to track down the problem and find a solution.

  • Problem "trying" to play with other people on Xbox 360 Live

I am using a WRT54G v. 5 router with the latest firmware. I have not been able to play with any player online on any game for around a week now, no matter what I do, but I can download demos, and stuff. I also can't view any players whatsoever via the Players tab in the Xbox 360 guide button thing, so there is definately something wrong with my router. Any suggestions?

Something also I should mention is that I've called the xbox 4-800 live xbox thing or whatever, and they said it was my router too.
I've also tried DMZ but it still didn't work out, as for the Port forwarding, I couldn't find anything that would let me give my Xbox 360 an ip address, so I just used the one on my client table.
Beforethen, I was also using DI-604 router too, but that didn't work out either, even though I was able to assign it to 192.168.1.1, but I read somewhere on here you aren't supposed to do that. I haven't tried it out fully with my WRT54G v 5 though since I can't give my Xbox 360 a static ip address like I could easily in my DI-604 router.
And anyway, i'm still stuck and unable to play with anybody on Live thanks to my router(WRT54G v. 5), so if can anybody see this and give out suggestions, or see what my problem is?

  • Xbox 360 live lagged and disconnect often with Linksys WRT300N router

I live in a two story townhouse with the modem and wireless router (Linksys WRT300N) located in the upper floor and the Xbox 360 system with wireless adapter in the bottom floor.  Our laptop works fine with good connection but the Xbox live gameplay lagged big time and disconnect often.  What are we doing wrong?

Configure the X-BOX using static IP....subnet mask ....gateway & DNS numbers as in the range of router ....
Also use the wireless settings same as in router
    Forward the ports 88 & 3074 .... .on router .....

Just bought Airport Extreme and Xbox 360 slim and we are having trouble connecting wirelessly.
When testing connection on Xbox, some problems:
    - MTU setting not high enough
    - does not have assigned IP address

  • Xbox 360 connect problems with live

hello everyone, i was hoping that you guys could help me like you have so many times before. well i have an xbox 360 and am trying to connect live through my mac. I have done everything correctly manually and everytime i test connection DNS Fails please someone help me.

I never got it to work - I ended up hooking up a cheap netgear 802.11g router to the Airport router.
Which was nice because it created 2 networks a high speed 802.11n and a slower 802.11g.

  • Is there a way to play on the same wireless network with 2 different xbox 360 accounts?

Is there a way to play on the same wireless network with 2 different xbox 360 accounts?

Not sure what your question has to do in respect to Apple networking, but if you're asking can you use your Xbox 360 on a wireless network (regardless of the router's manufacturer) to access different Xbox Live! accounts, then the answer is yes.

  • Does the Xbox 360 wireless adapter even work with the WRT54G wireless router?!!? If so, how???

I just bought a WRT54G wireless router (Ver 8.0; firmware updated to latest).  I have successfully connected my wireless laptop using WEP security, but I'm at wits end trying to get the Xbox 360 wireless adapter to work.  (It worked just fine with my Netgear router until that router recently died.)
When I do the "Test Media Connection" routine (you XBox 360 users know what I'm referring to), the Xbox immediately recognizes the Network Adapter and indicates that it is connected to the Wireless Network, but it inevitably fails the next step in the process:  IP Address.  I have the set-up for the IP address to be assigned automatically by the router (which is set for  DHCP Server enabled).
I have gone around the mountain innumerable times myself and then with well-meaning friends who say try this, try that, try this, try that.  I've had to re-establish my laptop set-up so many times I wanna scream!
Are the Xbox 360 wireless adapter and the WRT54G even compatible?  If so, what am I missing here?  I'm not too technical and obviously in over my head, but this ought not be that hard.
Please, please do NOT respond unless you KNOW the answer!  I don't mean to be curt, but I'm over / past "suggestions to try."
Thank you VERY much for your time and consideration if you can help me.

I don't think that the X-BOX adapter is not compatible to wireless rotuer .... there are few settings you can try on the router ... Access router setup page ... Please click on the tab "Application and gaming" and click on sub tab "Port range forwarding" 1) On the first line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 88, in end box type in 88, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 2) On the second line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 3074, in end box type in 3074, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 3) Now save the settings 4) Once you return to the setup page, click on the tab "Administration" and disable the UPNP and save the settings. 5) Now assign the given ip address on your xbox ip address :- 192.168.1.20 subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0 default gateway :- 192.168.1.1 Please assign the dns address on the xbox primary dns :- 4.2.2.2 secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1 6) Please try to test your xbox live. Hope it works ...

  • ICMP Error with 2nd XBOX 360

I have two xbox 360's connected to my WRT610N router. Everything worked fine up until the point that I updated my firmware to the latest release a few days ago. Now, on my second 360, I continue to receive the error:
"Your console can connect to Xbox LIVE, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to ICMP responses"
My original 360 still connect to Live without an issue. I have the following settings on my router for connecting to Live:
    1. Under Port Range Triggering, I have two entries to forward ports 88 and 3074.
    2. Under QOS, I have an internet access priorty application setup for live that has a priority of High for ports 88 and 3074.
Before I upgraded my firmware, setting number one was not necessary. If I disable the first setting now, my original 360 gets a strict or moderate NAT.
If you have any ideas or recommendations for settings, I would be happy to try them out. I would also happily downgrade back to the original firmware if someone could point me to that version somewhere.

Since you have connected 2 XBOX 360 to your Routers, and you have already done Port Triggering for your XBOX on your Router, If your 2nd XBOX is not getting connected to your Router i think you need to do DMZ on your Router for your XBOX and give a static Ip to your XBOX and after this Test the Connection on your XBOX it should work.
