WRTU54G-TM Blinking Power Button

I just signed up for T-Mobile @Home service that included a Linksys WRTU54G-TM router. I got it at 10:00am this morning. After setting everything up, everything was working fine. I was able to browse the internet and check e-mail on my desktop (connected via cable). However, when I tried to connect my laptop (wireless) I couldn't connect because of incorrect security credentials. SO I unplugged the router (to just restart it) and plugged it back in. BUT now the power button in constantly blinking and I cannot ping the router or get to the router's startup page (192.168.0.1). I spent 3 hours unplugging, holding down reset button, letting it blink itself to death... Then I decided to return the router to T-Mobile and got another one. Everything worked fine - except for when I set security settings (WPA-Personal 2) my laptop saw an unsecured network. So me, in my infinite wisdom unplugged the router and ... AGAIN, Im stuck with a blinking power light and no way to ping the router or anything. Holding down reset button does NOTHING. Please help!!! -Paul

Well if the power light is blinking on the router then try resetting the router for 1 complete minute & then do a complete network power cycle & check if the light is not solid green try another power adapter if you have & check out if it works fine....if not then if its a new router replace it back to store.

  • 17in CRT Studio Display (Blue & White)-blinking power button

I have an Apple 17in Studio Display (CRT-Blue and White vintage) connected to my Power Mac G5.
Last night, I went home, and turned it on..or rather tried to turn it on but found it stayed black, with the power button blinking green->amber->green->amber etc.
As far as the computer was concerned, the monitor was still there and working (dual monitors...the mac kept the b&w as if it was turned on).
I swapped the monitors to the different video ports and the other monitor worked fine, so it's not the video card or vga->digital adapters.
I unplugged the monitor and replugged it, and it stayed with the blinking light.
Restarting the computer with the monitor attached had the computer still running as if the monitor was working just fine, so it seems to be getting what ever kind of feedback the mac gets to let it know a video card is there.
Anyone have any idea what could be up?

  • Printer offline, no response to unplugging or pressing blinking power button

It has never had this problem before, I even downloaded the print and scan doctor and it says nothing is wrong with the printer. It just says the printer is offline, the power button blinks and has no response to when i press it. The test print page wont print, and the status jusy says error. I tried the open and close 4 times thing, and checked for paper jams. Everything is also installed.

What printer do you have? What operating system do you have? I am including a document that addresses printer offline message.

  • Blinking Power button on T410

    Hi,
I have a T410 and just noticed today that the power button is blinking green, whenthe machine is switched on.
If i reboot it goes away for a while but then starts blinking again.
    What does this mean?

    Hi nuri,
    just a suggestion.
The power button blinks because your system went into standby. (You mentioned that the battery is set to optimize lifespan).
To wake it up, try to press the blue FN key on your keyboard. bottom left position.
    hope this helps.

I believe  that when you connect the power adapter, the power light blinks.
Here is a link to Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter.
I would also check the physical notebook connection for any bent pins or damage.
Here is a link to Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps as I am unsure what light is blinking.
If this has not helped would you please provide your exact model of HP notebook , your Operating System and the results from your troubleshooting.

  • Why Power Button blinks after overnight ShutDown. Restarts Shuts Down?

Funny enough, My APC shorted out from another piece of equipment that went bad. Blew my room circuit breaker as APC smoke arose. Learned lesson, 'Dedicate your APC to your Computer(s) only! Testing showed I fried my Mother board! I bought and replaced the exact Motherboard version. Ran the 'Hardware Disk' all systems nominal, reset fan speeds. Hooray! Back in business!... 10 days later, I shut the Computer down. The next morning, the Power Button was blinking erratically. Not showing normal codes! Able to start up- fans, sys, monitors fine. Then, 'click', power supply shut off. Did the usual unplug power and peripheries, pmu, batt.. Time enough to run Hardware disk to know CPU, memory, drives, fans ok... Shut Down! BEFORE I GO TO REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY, Are their any other thing I can check, i.e. Power Management, suspect Connectors, Power Button?? ANY IDEAS? PLEASE HELP! An Intel Mac Pro will be next but the changes and upgrades will put my Studio in Gremlin ****! THANK YOU!

    >  think this is normal.  Any vaguely recent  think this is normal.  Any vaguely recent ...
Sorry - this is not normal...let me clarify....when I click 'Start' -> Shutdown -> select 'Shutdown' or 'Hibernate' from the drop down list, and press enter... It does shutdown or hibernate as appropriate, BUT IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY STARTS BACK UP.  This is not normal behavior.  When you shutdown, it should indeed power off and stay off, until you press the power button again.  That is normal.
The last physical contact with the computer is pressing enter on the "Shut Down Windows" window...I do not close the lid, move a mouse, or anything else...I merely watch it shut down or hibernate, and start right back up...
Please note, I have attempted to search for a solution, but I don't know the 'specific' terms to look for...as shut down or hibernate doesn't fail, it succeeds, it just 'turns back on' or 'boots back up' as if a ghost pressed the power button to turn it back on....
My advanced power settings are set to:
When I close the lid - do nothing
When I press the power button - hibernate
When I press the sleep button - sleep (I never use sleep)
I am sure the power button itself is not malfunctioning, because when I press the power button in Win XP, it indeed Hibernates, (before starting back up)  If I 'shut it off during POST' and press the power button, it comes on as normal.
    Any other guesses?

  • My Power Mac G4 booted from an OS 9.1 install CD, and then froze up.  Now I turn the machine on, beeps 3 times, power button blinks 3 times.  What does this mean?

I tried to install Mac OS 9.1.  I turned the computer on, heard the bong noise (although with some static), and inserted the OS 9.1 installation CD.  It started to boot, but froze up.  I rebooted the machine, and the same thing happened.  One more reboot, and i get 3 beeps and the power button is blinking.  What does this mean?

Hi, it indicates a RAM problem, (or Logic Board around the RAM).
The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep  = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

There was a user that reported a similar problem with his machine a couple of weeks

  • P67A-GD55 Won't Power On - Onboard Power Button Blinks

I just built my Core i7 system with the P67A-GD55 motherboard and I'm having a problem.  I've got all my components installed and when I plug my power cord into my power supply the system won't turn on.  The power button on the motherboard repeatedly blinks green, but doesn't do anything.  My case power button won't do anything at all either.  I've read through the manual and searched through the forums and haven't been able to find an answer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Mobo:  MSI P67A-GD55
    CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz
    RAM:  Patriot Gamer 2 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600
    HDD1:  Crucial M4 64GB connected to SATA1
    HDD2:  Seagate 7200.11 500GB connected to SATA2
    PSU:  Silverstone ST60F 600W
    Video: ATI Radeon 4670 1GB

PSU has 42 +12V amps on the single rail, so that shouldn't be a problem. Could you please check the green sticker on the BIOS chip to see which version the board was shipped with? Guessing 1.8 or 1.9? I have a feeling it is a RAM compatibility issue. The very newest BIOS's have improved support for both G.Skill & Patriot memory modules, but you have to get into the BIOS initially to set the RAM up manually to possibly get to the point of loading the OS for the BIOS update. To rule out a possible bad stick of RAM, try to start with each of them singularly in the first blue slot, & just one HDD, & with VGA installed.

  • Power button blinking

Someone PLEASE help I'm panicking! I have an HP stream notebook, it's a touchscreen and I know it's windows 8 (the model is 13-c002dx). So I had it on and it was working fine. I closed it, went downstairs, came back up, and when I opened it the screen didn't turn on. The power button is just blinking. I pressed it, the keyboard, plugged it in, everything. The screen's just not turning on and the light won't stop blinking. What do I do? I don't think I can take out the battery and I don't want to tell my parents because they'll think I did something to it. Do I just wait for it to die or something?

    Hi @Dahlia24 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. Thanks for all the information about what is happening to your system. I have looked into your HP Stream 13-c002dx Notebook and getting a flashing power button on startup. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • My laptop won't turn on when I push the power button, just light on the caps lock key blinking

my laptop hp mini 311-1002TU suddenly hang, and can't to respon anyting from user, then I shut it down by force by pressing the power button, but when I tried to turn it on again, my laptop does not turn on, just the lights in his caps lock blinking, please help to resolve this problem, thanks.

I would suggest keep trying to turn it on and get the blue screen error code to maybe a get clue of precisely what the issue is. Ultimately, the processor likely needs to be replaced in most of these 1-blink situations.
If you have experience taking a laptop apart, here is a link to the Maintenance and Service Guide for your model. Removal and replacement procedures begin in Section 4.
Otherwise, I would recommend taking it to a local repair shop because they may have processors and/or other parts that they can swap in and out to determine if the processor is actually bad or not.

  • Imac power button just blinks

    imac power button just blinks.
I have an slot loading iMac that was given to me recently, when you press the power button the button blinks green and the screen does not turn on.
Apparently the iMac in question had OS 9.2.1 on it.
Ideally I'd like to 'erase & install ' the hard drive and install OS X Tiger, keeping none of the previous (OS 9) data.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
    THANKS

    The iMac in questions is:
    iMac DV Special Edition
    (Slot Loading)
    Graphite
    400 MHz
Slot loading DVD-ROM drive, 13 GB hard drive
I have tried to boot up off the install disc OS X Tiger and even OS 9.2 with no change.
Again, my goal is to completely wipe the system and install OS X Tiger saving non of the previous data.
    Please help!

  • Dual G4 won't turn on. Power button just blinks

Hi everyone, first off I'd like to say that I know there are a number of similar posts to this but I read many of them and I think mine is a little different.
Earlier today my Dual 1.42 G4 powermac was on and was in the screen saver. I pressed the sleep button on my Apple 23" display and nothing happened. I waited about ten seconds and, needing to leave, pressed it again and left. Well, I returned now and found the computer was off. I pressed the power button on the display and nothing happened. It just blinked. I then pressed the power button the computer and it did the same, just blinked for a second.
I just followed Texas Mac Man's directions from other post by unplugging the power cable and removing the battery. Waited ten mins and tried power it up and nothing happened. Same issue. There are no start up chimes/beeps and the fans do not spin up.
I also found a link that showed how some powermac's power button go bad and that a usb keyboard with a power button can start it up. My display has a power button and it couldn't turn the computer on so this isn't my issue, right?
Some info about the comp: Dual 1.42, OS 10.5, everything stock except a ram stick I added three years ago. Thanks for your help in advance and can't wait to get this old champ running again.

I debated starting yet another "my G4 won't start" thread since my problem is more similar to Tammy in MO's.
My Dual 1 Ghz G4 (Mirrored Door) won't start up when I press the power button. The power button usually does not light up upon touch. The computer does not shut down on me when I am working on it.
The only way to get it to start up again is to unplug the power cord from the back of the computer for a minute or two (not long at all) and then plug it back in again. If I do this, I can run the computer all day without any problems. Once it goes to sleep or shuts down, then I have to unplug it again and start over.
    I have done the following:
    Replaced the battery.
    Reset the PRAM:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    Reset the PMU:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1939?viewlocale=en_US
as well as done the PSU test:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9301520&#9301520
This last test yielded no voltage results, best I can tell.
Truth be told, I don't think I did the PSU test properly since the ends of my voltage tester are probably a bit too large to properly test the pins.
    http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4280/fw800pinout.png
I even tried to discharge the power from the logic board:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=582223#582223
BTW: The red led on the logic board does come on and stay on when the unit is powered up and running.
I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if anyone knew how to solve the problem.
At this point since this machine is relegated to my wife and kids so for me it's more annoying than anything else. Any other suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris
