WRV200 and Bittorrent

I have a WRV200 router and it works fine
I also use Bittorrent and i need to forward the ports .
On the internet i found some solutions which doesn't work for me
The download is very slow
Please help

If you’re getting a slow download speed with bittorrent, try check if this is just due to the seeds. Maybe you don’t have enough active seeds to download faster the file. Try to check your speed in www.speedtest.net or other speed testing sited and see if you are getting your expected bandwidth speed.

  • Wrv200 and radius server does not work

I am "upgrading" from a dlink di-524 to a wrv200 because I want multiple ssid's. I have my old ssid configured to use the same radius server, port, password, etc. on the wrv200 as on the dlink. When I try to connect it does not authenticate. (Using certificates - wpa2 Enterprise.) The dlink will still authenticate if I plug that back in. The wrv200 seems to be getting to the radius server since it will complain if I change the ip address of the wrv200 to something unexpected. However, the authentication never finishes. It's as if something just does not pass through the router or is dropped. There are no messages on the radius server, not even a rejected or successful message. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I'd hate to have to use 2 routers to add an ssid (I already have 3 in my network.)

Sorry to take so long to reply. I'm using freeradius under Fedora 7. Thanks for the url but I already saw that when I was setting up the radius server. I chatted with tech support about the issue and, since I'm using a wrvs4400n with the same radius settings and working, it is probably a firmware issue. I guess I'll have to just wait for the firmware to catch up.

  • WRV200 and SNMP

According to the manuals, SNMP should work on this router. It's really the only reason I didn't spend a bit more to get a more robust router.
That being said, I have setup snmp options in the router but port 161 remains stubbornly closed as shown by nmap 192.168.1.1 -p 161:
    Interesting ports on 192.168.1.1:
    PORT STATE SERVICE 161/tcp
    closed snmp
    and snmpget -v 1 -c public 192.168.1.1 system:
    Timeout: No Response from 192.168.1.1.
So the question is, does this router really support SNMP or is it just false advertising?

SNMP should work with WRV200. It has that option in its web interface.

  • IPsec firewall2firewall vpn with wrv200 and watchguard Firebox Pro.

I have a situation that is confounding me. I am trying to connect my wrv200 to a watchguard firebox x1000. The tunnel works on and off. When it is connected it functions properly. However when it disconnects and tries to reestablish a connection it often happens that it hit the following problem(from the WRV200 log): 020 [Fri 07:54:17] "TunnelA" #4: Main mode peer ID is ID_IPV4_ADDR: '10.10.10.254' 021 [Fri 07:54:17] "TunnelA" #4: we require peer to have ID '81.252.20.225', but peer declares '10.10.10.254' 022 [Fri 07:54:17] "TunnelA" #4: sending encrypted notification INVALID_ID_INFORMATION to 81.252.20.225:500 The watchguard is not the WAN gateway for the network, so that is why the peer I.D. is not matching. The people who operate the watchguard say there is nothing they can change. Is there any way to accept this peer i.d. so I can get past this step? thanks, Nick

if this is a gateway to gateway vpn connection , one of the end needs to have a static ip add ...

  • WRT610N v1 and Bittorrent

I have a WRT610N wireless router. Wan port is connected to ADSL modem and main PC connected to Ethernet LAN port. Everythings works fine but when I running uTorrent on main PC - large file transferring via wifi constantly breaking down. Just one active torrent affects this sutiation and when I have 7-8 active torrents - transferring of large file nearly immediately breaks. Same situation I see when copying files to shared USB disk (via LAN) - no errors while torrents down and breaks when torrents is up. I have tried official firmware and DD-WRT firmware - same results. Please help me to solve this problem.

You have a version 1 router, and in your post you have mentioned you have uploaded version 2 firmware on your Router (Now the firmware is 2.00.00 B05 (official FW_WRT610N_2.00.00.05_20090710_code.bin)?
First thing which you can try is Login to the setup page of your Router and below change the MTU size to 1300 and click on Save Settings, then again click on the Wireless tab and below click on the sub tab "Advance Wireless Settings" and below  Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Once you are done with this settings, now you can check the speed on your computer and check if you are facing the same problem while downloading the files from Torrent.

  • [WRV200] Two SSID and remote control?

    Hi,
I have a WRV200 and need to setup a wifi access for a place that is shared. So two questions:
    1. How can I have two SSIDs, one for me, one for visitors with my router? Is it by setting up a VLAN ?
If yes, would those persons be able to access the Internet using a separate WPA2 key?
    2. I will need to remotely configure that shared wifi by replacing the WAP key now and then, not the
main key for my private access, only the one for visitors. Is it possible to remotely connect to my
router (dynamic IP address, not static) and configure it remotely so each time a new visitor shows
    up, I can change her/his WPA2 key ?
If yes, what do I need? Some kind of OpenDNS service?
The idea is for a house that is rented during vacation time. Each time a new visitor would show up,
I'd have to set a new key so the renter can access the Internet for the rental time, and then change
the key remotely to disable access until the next visitor.
    Thanks for any clarification.
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
Yep I have to admit I have for some time  personally used DynamicDNS because I am too thrifty to buy a fixed IP.
I guess for the silly reason Dyndns was the first in the list of choices in the management gui. .
Next time you buy a Small Business Wireless  Router, move away from the End of Life WRV200 product  have a look at the new RV120W or  RV220W wireless routers,
But the older WRV200 allow for remote management, if you know it's IP address or domain name (via DYNDNS or TZO).
    Have fun.
    regards Dave

  • My Macbook Pro keeps freezing and crashing!

Hello, I've had my MBP for a year and seven months (as of April 2014). At the beginnings of March 2014, it began freezing, showing these flickering horizontal lines and squares, and then, I had to do a hard boot to get it to work again. Back in March, I wiped the hard disk and reinstalled the OSX (Mavericks). There was no problem for about three days. Then, it started happening again. I took it to an Apple Reseller (as I live in Dominican Republic and we don't have apple stores, etc.) They spent about a day with it. When I picked it up, they said they reinstalled the OSX. I told them that's what I did, but as I'm young, they said it was different when they did it, yada, yada, yada. Through the entire month of March, I took it 4 times, where they claimed nothing really happened when it was with them, so I gave up on taking it to them. I just kept using throught the crashes as I am in school and I need it. I noticed the freezing usually occured when I moved it around (I use it for HS so I obviously need to go from classroom to classroom). I began to be extra careful when moving it and the freezing started ocurring less frequently. Tonight, I booted in Safe Mode and moved it around a lot, without being extremely careful about (so how a normal person carries it). The freezing hasn't happened yet. I'm currently typing this while in Safe Mode. However, I do not know what's the problem because I already reinstalled the OSX, and didn't transfer any Applications or Documents. I seriously don't know what to do anymore.
Can anyone help me with this? Please don't suggest I take it to Apple, because they haven't been helpful at all. I resetted the SMC and the PRAM, and the problem stopped momentarily. Also, the freezing is intermittent, so it can be perfectly okay now, and a mess later. Also, sometimes, 3 beeps can be heard and the laptop just doesn't turn on at all. Both RAM sticks were tested, and both are working perfectly.
Please, please, I AM DESPERATE and I will be forever in debt to anyone who helps me solve this.
PS: If I have to open anything, I can do it if you provide me with clear instructions, and please tell me if it's really complicated as I'm only 15, and I cherish my Macbook too much to do anything too hard myself.
PS(2): It has had problems in the past, so the screen 'cracked from the inside', so that was changed, and the logic board was also replaced, all in warranty, of course.
MBP 9.2, OSX Mavericks, though originally came with Mountain Lion.
Applications installed: Photoshop and Illustrator CS6, Spotify, Skype, VLC and BitTorrent.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE TO EVERYONE!

Three beeps indicate a RAM problem. Is this the original RAM or have you upgraded it? The fact that this seems to happen when you move it sounds like the RAM might not be seated correctly or maybe the contacts are dirty. If you're comfortable doing it, you can remove the RAM modules and clean the contacts with an eraser. Try one module in the machine at a time. If one is bad, that will help you isolate which one.

  • WRV200 lockup worse with 1.0.39

The WRV200 would lock about every 24 hours. Flash to 1.0.39 and I will be lucky to get this thread out before it requires a power cycle.  The DHCP function seems to be part of the issue. One look at the table and it seems this part was damaged in the new firmware.  The column for system name has the DHCP lease expiration time. Also the table rarely updates. It clears on each reboot and will not update until the lease is up.
Quick VPN seems to be non functional on all my platforms now (WRV200 and the 4400N).
    Anyone else with these issues?

Do a hard reset on the router.

  • WRV200 failed to sent syslog via e-mail

I've just purchased a WRV200 and upgraded it to latest released firmware.
In the Administration page, I could set the log to be sent via e-mail and/or log to log server. I could successfully set it to log to my log server. However, for the e-mail option, I can't get the e-mail from the dedicated account and there is no log indicating if the e-mail can be sent out successfully.
I wonder if WRV200 has its smtp server or using my smtp server. It's because I can't find anywhere that let me input my smtp server parameters.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

I attached the videos to the e-mails from iphoto.
You didn't. My guess is that what the emails contain are the previews of the first frame. You can't attach a video diretly to an email from iPhoto.
    As to emailing video:
Simply, sharing video via email is not advisable.
Many email services have an attachment limit of 20mb and some a limit of 10mb. As emails are sent through an array of relays, the effective limit is the smallest file size allowed on any of the relays.  That means that video is rarely suitable for emailing.
Then there's the whole issue of Codecs and not all machines will have the codecs to play all videos. Plus, folks with slower connections can find it very inconvenient to download large video files.
Finally, sharing video from iPhoto via email is not supported. All that gets you is the Movie thumbnail. If you feel you must share via email then you'll need to export the video first, and attach that. Use the File -> Export command and set the kind  to Original.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
Other than that your options include:
Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material online. That will avoid the codec issues mentions, and the person can still download the video file if they wish.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they download the material to their machines to view.
    Regards

  • SMTP password problem with WRT54G or WRV200

I have a problem sending email in that the SMTP password cannot be successfully sent. I have found that if the router is rebooted, email can be sent for maybe 10 minutes. After that time, the password is refused no matter how many times it is tried. I have tried Thunderbird and Apple Mail as the email client and they both behave the same. I have tried 2 different routers, the WRT54G and WRV200 and they behave the same. I have connected my computer directly to the modem and email can be sent successfully all the time. I am on SBC/AT&T DSL service - it's Yahoo email servers. My computer is a Mac running OX X v10.5 (Leopard). I normally use Thunderbird as my email client and it has worked for some time.

ISP is SBC/AT&T DSL. The email servers are on Yahoo. I am not sure of the question about private/public address of the router. The IP address of the router is assigned by SBC/AT&T - I guess that's public. The firmware of the WRT54G is the latest from your website. I don't really have a Windows computer to give a verdict on whether it happens there. I have tried using the Apple Mail application and it behaves in the same way as the Thunderbird client. Email sending is normal for about 10 minutes after booting the router and then after 10 minutes the sending of the SMTP password fails. Rebooting the router will get you another 10 minutes of successful email sending. As I described bnefore: If I take the router out of my network and connect my computer directly to the DSL modem, then email can be sent at any time. The computer is logging onto the SBC/AT&T network PPPoE with no router involved. Of course, I do not have to change any settings in my email client for this experiment. This proves to me that the email client is working and configured correctly. Keep in mind that this email client has been working correctly for some time (years) in this configuration. I am always able to receive email from the POP server. Message Edited by darowa on 03-16-2008 02:28 PM

  • WRV200 - Wireless Connection Is Periodically Lost

    Hello,
I just bought a WRV200 and I have updated the firmware to 1.0.32.2.
    I'm using WPA2-Personal.
I have to Toshiba notebooks with the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG.
I'm using in both computers Windows Vista (Home Premium and Ultimate editions).
The problem that I have is I get the connection lost periodically. Not always at the same amount of time.
I have tried 2 different Linksys WRV200 routers and I always have the same problem. I must add that one router have the 1.0.32.2 and the other 1.0.12 firmware.
Any ideas why? Is the ok? Is about the key renewal?
Thanks in advance for your replays!

    A couple of suggestions:
    1. Firmware 1.0.32.2 is not the latest firmware - you could find newer beta firmware at linksysinfo.org at the download section.
    2. It would help if you spend the time to update the wireless driver on the computers. Check with the Intel's web site for the latest version.

  • WRT54GS problem with bittorrent

I have a WRT54GS, flashed to firmware v 1.52.8. It's been working fine up until a recent move. I set it up after I moved into my new place and got service connected (Comcast) and that's when I noticed the problem. I have a PC connected via CAT5 through the router and use the wireless access point for my laptop. In the past, my average download speed on torrents with decent seeds have been around 1.5 - 3 MB/s (yes, that's MBps not mbps... I know the difference) Recently however they are topping out at anywhere from 150 KBps to 250 KBps. Uploads are not affected... they seem to be averaging about the same. Additionally, while a torrent is downloading, web browsing/email/etc is not functional: everything times out in spite of QoS settings I have in place on the router to avoid these issues.
Initially I assumed it was my ISP throttling my connection--Comcast has been known to do this in the past, after all--but after testing at Glasnost reported no throttling by my ISP, I tested with the PC hooked directly to my cable modem. Result: sustained download speeds of 2.5 - 3 MB/s over the course of two test downloads (Ubuntu install ISO). During these downloads, I was able to browse to wesites without getting timeout errors like I do when behind the router. This pretty conclusively points to the WRT54GS as the source of my problem, so I'm wondering if anyone else has any suggestions for resolving this other than tossing the router and getting a new one.
EDIT: I should mention that I only torrent on the PC so this is not a wireless issue.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That seems to have done the trick. IDK what caused it to stop working, but after the factory reset and putting my wireless settings back in again (plus port forwarding for my games and bittorrent) I'm able to stream video from Netflix while downloading a torrent at a reasonable speed and still click on web links and have them load. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Macbook, airport and t mobile hotspot...

Haven't found this one in the forums yet, so here goes: Has anyone used their Macbook w/airport on a T Mobile Hotspot, say a Starbucks or Borders Books? Good/bad experiences, details, issues, security measures, etc.,would be helpful. I'm ditching my home ISP (long story, don't ask) and would be able to walk to my local Starbucks. Just checking out the options, and wanted any insights the mac community could provide. I'm a new mac owner (like being multi-platform). Also, if you've had additional experience using .mac on the T Mobile Hotspot service, that would help too. Just got my full .mac disc today and plan to load it and make a place for myself on the web.
Thanks for being there and helping the community grow...

My MacBook's never had any problems using any WiFi network.
I've stayed in a few different hotels, use it at Starbucks about 3x a week, .. Panera's, at home, at work ... it just works.
Well, at least email and web surfing. Stuff like iChat AV and BitTorrent working depends on how the WiFi network you're on has been setup, but I've never had a problem with the basics!
