WRVS4400N Cant connect to internet

I cant get the WRVS4400N to connect to my cable modem. The WAN link light isnt even lighting up. Im wondering if this unit is bad out of the box. Is there a setting im missing to get them to talk to one another. This is no mention in any of the manuals.
Connections:
- The "Internet" port on the WRVS4400N to the "Network" port on my cable modem (No link light)
Here is what i have verified at this point:
- My old router connects instantly to the modem when plugged in (Same cable)
- When i plug my laptop into the WAN port on the WRVS4400N i get a link light. When i plug the modem into the WAN port...nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?

I recommend that you start with taking a look at the Apple Support article to help you troubleshoot what the issue may be.
If that still doesn't resolve the issue, we will need to get the AirPort icon back on the OS X menu bar to continue. Please try the following:
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar (checked)

Macbook 2.2ghz Leopard wont auto update (says it cant connect to internet??) also safari and chrome take ages to open and frequently crash. Help!

Here goes...
1) I have a Macbook 2.2ghz (early 2008) running Leopard 10.5.8 which wont auto update (says it cant connect to internet even though it is - error says A networking error has occurred: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again.) Network diagnostcs says that im connected to the intermet.
2) Also safari and chrome take ages to load pages when every time I open them (around 45 seconds) and then when they are running safari will randomly close and chrome will come up with the aw snap message for random pages (doesnt matter if its trying to loas flash or not).
Iv got Sophos anti virus which is saying theres no malware or viruses, also tried restartiing, re downloading chrome, deleteing my profile from chrome, exporting, deleting and then importing bookmarks and hardwiring the latop to the router. None of these fixed the issues.
Never had these issues and they are really getting on my nerves! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks but just tried and does nothing, i read somewhere it could be to do with proxy settings? even though though i havnt changed them?? couldnt work out how to do it on a mac, could this be the problem?

Time capsule cant connect to internet

My Time capsule has recently stopped working (yellow flashing light) when it cant assign an ip address. I checked Airport utilities and now it has no ip address and cant find dns server. The problem with losing ip address has happened before and was resolved by restarting the modem. I've tried another router and its fine so my modem is ok. This time my time capsule dont want to work with the modem. Its stuck and cant connect to internet. I've restarted the TC but it didnt help so now Im pretty clueless. Any advice woyld be appreciated.

Ok, when the simple stuff doesn't work you need a lot more analysis.
1. Plug a computer direct to the modem.. does the modem give you internet? (are we talking cable?? what internet?)
Once you clear the modem is working.. then the issue is purely the TC.
2. You didn't make clear if you followed the instructions I gave.. I want you to plug in the TC to a computer by ethernet. Lan port to the computer ethernet. Turn off wireless on the computer.. disconnect all other network connections on the TC. Press and hold reset until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Can you now access the TC?
If not it is likely dead ..
If you can make sure it is in router mode.. plug the modem into the TC wan port.. for cable you will have to power cycle the modem.. this can take a while.. 15min depending on your ISP.
Reboot everything.. and check if the TC has picked up a public IP on wan.. if not it has failed on wan side.
If the TC is dead.. or just as a means of testing.. get another router and plug it in. Substitution is the best test method.
Exactly how old and what model is the TC?
If it is Gen 3, A1355 try leaving it off overnight and restart the next day.. test immediately from cold. They have several board issues.
Or if the TC is newer and you have existing warranty or applecare let apple fix it.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Now at home it wont receive wifi. It picks up the signal which shows in phones display but cant connect to the internet. Computers and ipod all working fine so I assume it must be a problem with the phone.
Have checked that wifi is turned on and tried resetting phone to no avail

Cant connect to internet using airport?!!!

Suddenly and out of nothing, I just dont seem to be able to get connect to internet using airport. I restarted all devices but it still not working. Though I can connect to my wireless network using airport, I cant use the internet. I can use the internet from other devices and I've already checked my settings.

hi i have a 5800 for few weeks now and internet used to work well.all of a sudden i cant connect anymore,tried different access point including wlan but still wont work and at times it seems to initiate browsing however it immediately stops and then the screen jam or froze.

im not really good @ gadgets but when i first used my 5800 everything seems straight forward.immediately i managed to connect to internet using "contract internet" as access point and with wlan,I only have to key in the WEP code of my linkys and it worked well.over last few days i've been enjoying browsing the internet using different access point.

IPhone 3gs cant connect to internet after OS4

Ever since i updated to OS4, i cant connect to the internet except at wi-fi hotspots. i reset all settings, restored the iphone, tried airplane mode on and off and nothing has worked. any suggestions?

I had the same problem that AT&T couldn't solve after my iOS4 Upgrade on my 3gs.
An Apple Tech double checked that airplane mode was off and then went to settings, restore network settings thru the phone's menu. It reset and suddenly all my 3g cellular connection was restored and everything worked again. But V E R Y S L O W L Y!
I am still getting 4-5 bars of connectivity, my all my speed tests show my 3g data connect at about 60-120 kbps or even slower. I don't know of it's an iOS4 bug or AT&T just overwhelmed by al the new Iphones added to it's network. I'm paying for "Unlimited Data" that now comes in so slowly, some of my apps "freeze" and time out when they can't connect.
And I have no official way of downgrading to 3.1.3 without hacking my phone...which can't be discussed here and may not even really work!

Im having problems to connect to internet. When I start my mac mini and start safari it says im not connected to internet. Every other computer in the house do not have this problem. I have to keep pressing "update" on safari to get it to connect, for each press on the button its connects more and more and after about five minutes I'm connected to internet. Im connected to DSL with a Zyxel P-320W router.

I think the problem is different from what the subject of this thread states.
You are connected to the internet. But your screen is drawing very slowly.
Mostly likely you have misconfigured DNS server settings.
I'd suggest switching to OpenDNS. They have a good set of instructions about how to do this here:

"Anytime the mini asks a DNS server to resolve an web name into an IP number, it waits a certain amount of time before it gives up and tries another DNS server.

But it is also possible that there is a problem with connection supplied by your Internet Service Provider.

First of all the wireless card must be installed properly. I dont know which card you have exactly but check please in device manager if the card is listed and ready to be used (check device status).
