WRVS4400N Security Log What is this?

I keep getting email with messages like that below in it from the router. It appears these are not documented anywhere. Anyone have a clue?
Jan 18 09:35:36  - have_expectations(c1ee80e0)
Jan 18 09:35:36  - exp_entry ! &ct->sibling_list.

i didnt get the debuggind stuff a little confused on
who initiates
that , as i have not.Let me try a slightly different take on what I said before.
Use "Start" and go to "Settings", then "Control Panel"
In there find either something that refers to "ODBC" or "Data Sources". You might have to poke around however this will be there. (Let me repeat it is there - it might be in a sub folder in the control panel but it is always there.)
Open it.
Look for a tab that says "Tracing", click on that.
I can't say for sure what you will find there, but on my system there is a big button that says "Start Tracing Now" and then says "Stop Tracing Now" when I click on it. Obviously when it says "Stop Tracing Now" it is no longer tracing. Yours will have something similar. Yours is turned on.
You will also notice that the file that it uses for tracing is called "sql.log". But once you turn the tracing off that no longer matters.

  • Panic.log - What is this?

I was looking at my Console logs and found this panic.log shown below. I had walked away from my iBook G4 running 10.3.9 and when I came back everything was dark: not sleeping and not "display off"
I pressed the power switch and it rebooted OK. I went to Console to see if there were any hints. There was a panic.log file:

    Hi Roberto,
    > Don't want to leave this question just hanging...
... but you did. You haven't added any new information. You won't learn any more about the panic from the panic log alone. William is by far the best at reading panic logs of anyone ever to have graced this list. He has actually contributed code to Darwin's kernel. I was thrilled that he posted on this thread because he is probably familiar with the code that throws a Machine Check error. He has indicated the it probably came from your USB driver or the memory controller.
You should be able to test your RAM with the hardware test disk that came with your computer. If that test shows no problems then you've probably connected a device to your computer via USB that is misbehaving. If a panic occurs every time you plug in a particular device then the culprit is obvious but if the panic hasn't reoccurred then it's unlikely that you'll ever find out exactly what happen this time.

The pop up says Security warning. You have an encrypted page that contains unencrypted information and may easily read by a third party.

Any idea what's wrong with my spotlight?

I am also seeing this behavior.
Spotlight is attempting (and failing) to index a 4 TB external volume (connected via Firewire).  I see the mds process grow to 1.5-2.5 GB of memory and I have an MDS crash every 30 minutes.
I've uploaded one of the crash reports here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8091631/mds_2011-05-01-103642_localhost.crash.txt - not pasting it to make it more readable.
However, I think the important line is this:
    Application Specific Information:
    /SourceCache/Spotlight/Spotlight-507.15/index/ContentIndex/BurstTrie.h:52: failed assertion 'ptrM(newptr).next == ptr.next' /Volumes/qx2/.Spotlight-V100/Store-V1/Stores/B538EF23-CCA3-4DEF-88E2-127276C9FD 69 (hfs, t: 0x11, st: 0x1, f: 0x4a09018)
This points to a broken assumption in the mds code, not a configuration issue.  Developers (should) use asserts to codify their assumptions into the program and a blown assert is usually a programming mistake, not a configuration issue by the user.
I believe that this appeared on my system around the 10.6.7 upgrade and/or when I switched my Mac Pro to use the 32-bit kernel instead of the 64-bit kernel.

  • Mail error log - what does this mean?

I am using Mail 6.2 on ML 10.8.2. Account is setup as Exchange accessing my OWA account.  I can receive and send mails but Mail will not sync my subfolders. I have a large mail file (~30GB) as we are required by our company to not archive early than 7 years,
I get this error log fromt he Mail script
    error "Can’t make «class port» of «class dact» of item 1 of every «class mact» of application \"Mail\" into type string." number -1700 from «class port» of «class dact» of item 1 of every «class mact» to string
    Any idea what this means?
    Thanks

I just got a new Mac and wanted to transfer my old iTunes library to it.  After a night of attempting to import the old library to the new Mac it said that the library was damaged and subsequent restarts yielded the 13010 error.  I deleted everything listed, did a number of iTunes reintalls and the only thing that has allowed iTunes to continue is to dig up a backup library (which is in progress now).  Barring this working, how can I get it so that iTunes boots again as if it is factory fresh?

  • Sql.log what is this all about

    hi
i wanted to know why is this sql.log created on any drive on each jar opperation
    contents being
    vin(T)_ fff8382f:ffc73d0f     ENTER SQLAllocEnv
              HENV * 0x0b41f724
    vin(T)_ fff8382f:ffc73d0f     EXIT SQLAllocEnv with return code 0 (SQL_SUCCESS)

              HENV 0x0b70ff24
              HDBC * 0x0b41f688 ( 0x0b610194)

i didnt get the debuggind stuff a little confused on
    who initiates
that , as i have not.Let me try a slightly different take on what I said before.

  • Firewall log - what's this mean?

I had a hardware router/firewall and IP address server, just down stream from my cable modem until that device died this week. I've reconfigured what I had to use my Airport Graphite to distribute IP addresses and share a single IP address for all the devices on the home network "using NAT and DHCP" and connected 2 computers and a network printer with a simple Ethernet switch/hub. (BTW, this provides noticeably faster speed to the internet!) I already had the OS 10.4 firewall turned on in the 2 MacBooks, but I also now enabled Stealth Mode and for the first time "Firewall logging."
So I later looked in the log file and I find:
"Jan 8 20:49:31 Michaels-MacBook ipfw: Stealth Mode connection attempt to TCP 10.0.1.8:52066 from 74.125.19.104:80
Jan 8 20:49:31 Michaels-MacBook ipfw: Stealth Mode connection attempt to TCP 10.0.1.8:52066 from 74.125.19.104:80
Jan 8 20:49:33 Michaels-MacBook ipfw: Stealth Mode connection attempt to TCP 10.0.1.8:52066 from 74.125.19.104:80
Jan 8 20:49:33 Michaels-MacBook ipfw: Stealth Mode connection attempt to TCP 10.0.1.8:52066 from 74.125.19.104:80"
10.0.1.8 is the IP for this MacBook. I think this says I'm being scanned by someone attempting to use port 52066 (???), from some other computer named 74.125.19.104 port 80 - is that correct? Should I be worried? Is there something else I should enable or disable? Naturally, I turned on the minimum number of services in the Firewall. BTW, how could I find out who/where 74.125.19.104 is? This went on for about 3 minutes last night but seems to have stopped now.
I think this also makes me believe I should go back to a hardware firewall upstream, right at the 'port of entry,' but I don't see much for sale these days (at home prices) that is a true firewall. I know a new Airport Extreme Basestation says it has a "built-in firewall" but I can't find any information about that feature, ie is it more than just NAT translation? Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced, easy to set up and manage firewall?
    thanks!

I have Snort NIDS running on my computer and get port scans similar to this reported to me all the time from numerous websites - for example, from these very discussions.apple.com forums. Port 443 is a server https port, your port 49235 is in all likelihood the randomly created outbound port that you initially established a web browsing connection with, hence, assuming this to be an established connection, it would have been forwarded through your router to your computer (to your 192.168.x.x address). This IPA belongs to akamai.com, I think they handle a lot of online purchasing and online billing stuff and stuff that requires logging in in some manner or another -- were you paying bills or buying something online or in an authenticated website at the time this occurred?
I don't understand why these port scans from established connections to reputable web servers happen, but I don't believe them to be abnormal. Perhaps someone who is a subject matter expert in enterprise-class web servers could weigh in here and explain what may be going on here.

Well, just for laughs, I rebuilt the indexes of the wiki server and it looks like it fixed these memory errors.
The following terminal commands stop the wiki server, rename three index files and restarts the wiki server. The index files are rebuilt (can take a while) when the wiki server is restarted.
    +sudo serveradmin stop teams+
    +sudo mv /Library/Collaboration/globalIndex.db /Library/Collaboration/globalIndex.db.old+
    +sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/directoryIndex.db /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/directoryIndex.db.old+
    +sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/sessions.db /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/sessions.db.old+
    +sudo serveradmin start teams+
If anyone knows what other files should be renamed/deleted for a really comprehensive rebuild, I would be interested. Unrelated to the memory error (I assume) there are users in the redundant and unsynchronized wiki user directory that were long ago deleted from Open Directory.

I forgot my security ? Answers for my log what can I do next

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane  and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox).
Or you could see if the second half of Kappy's reply in this thread helps : https://discussions.apple.com/message/20357006#20357006

  • I am reinstalling Itunes on PC win 7 and have the message: "Apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" what does this mean and how do I check? I am already logged on as administrator.

I am re-installing itunes on a PC Win 7 and have the message: "apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficient privilegesto start system services" what does this mean? how do I check and rectify? I am already logged onto the PC as administrator

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053  The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
    Can anyone please help?

  • I can't log in to my computer- when it turns on it has a white/gray screen with a flashing folder with a question mark in it.  What does this mean and how can I get it to stop to log in?

    Hi
I dropped my macbook yesterday and it turned itself off. When I tried to turn it back on all I got was a white/gray screen with a flash folder with a ? in the middle of it?  What does this mean and how do I get it to stop so I can log onto my laptop?

    Deev
Normally the question mark on the gray screen means it can't find the operating system. Have you tried booting up from the installation DVD? Do that, and when you come to the screen where it wants to begin a system installation you'll notice in the menubar where it say's utilites. Click on that and choose disk utility. from there choose your disk and try to verify and repair the disk. If you can you may want to also try and new install of the system. I don't know how much critical data you have, but reinstalling is an option. did you purcahse you from an Apple store? If you did you may want them to look at it. Hope this helps.

    Joseph

when opening safari i get a message that says major security issue please contact apple immediately suspicious activity might have been detected. what is this and how do i get rid of it so i can use my internet?

A misleading and malicious popup. Launch Safari with the Shift key held down; if that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.
