WRVS4400n V2, Hardware/Software defect?

Hi,
i've recently tried to enable IPv6 but since then, the router has gone wild.
A few minutes after reboot it starts to send "malformed IPv6" packages (according to wireshark), stops responding to DHCPv6 solicitations, forwards packets just to a very low amount of IPv6 addresses, ...
Since discovering that i've tried several things.
reset to factory defaults, reflased the most current firmware, reset to factory defaults and just changed the IPv6 settings
tried to enable the telnet server (it says configuration changed, but the port stays closed)
pinged and tracerouted to diverse IPv6 locations
the last point was pretty disappointing, since the router responded with "Destination Unreachable", it seems, without trying to reach them.
The route to the 6to4 multicast gateway responds in time, but i don't know if cisco told the router to use a different host.
anyway, the route back to my ip seems to work, since i've tried several ipv6 ping web-tools and wireshark showed me the incoming ping requests, but the replies (generated by my pc) where dropped again by the router (destination unreachable).
Since one of the features of the router should be "Flash, RAM diagnostics", but i don't find a "start diagnostic" button, i think its doing it on its own, while booting? And further, that it passes the diagnostic, since i don't see a red diag led or log entry?
Or is this just a "paper feature" which hasn't been implemented or been disabled in one of the firmware updates? (like the telnet access)

As of today, I have three WRVS4400N's on my desk. Two are Version 2.0 (with FW 2.0.0.7 and 2.0.0.8) and the third is a version 1.1. Version 1.1 works fine.
I am having a similar problem, and can add some detail.
Blackberry Bold 9700/Bold 9000 and Pearl 8120s only connect at 48mbps on the 2.0 routers and 54mbps on the 1.1 model. Browsing over WiFi on these devices with the 2.0 router give sporatic results typically resulting in invalid page views 4 out of 10 times. No issues on 1.1.
MacBook Pro connects at N speeds but every 30-40 minutes, looses its connection requiring either a reboot of the V2.0 router or disable/enable of MacBook AirPort. V1.1 works without issue.
HP Mini Netbook connects at N speeds without issue except when wireless totally locks up on very rare occasions on both v2.0 and v1.1 routers. Wired traffic never stops.
I would like to say there must be some kind of incompatibility with certain devices and can be fixed with firmware. The MacBook Pro w/10.5 and 10.6.4 software just doesn't like the v2.0 router. Disabling/enabling the AirPort OR rebooting the router temporarily solves the problem. Version 1.1 just works fine with it. The Blackberry's prefer 1.1 as well for speed and compatibility. Downloading podcasts over WiFi is a good 25% faster on the 1.1 router and never get errors. The v2.0 may require multiple attempts to download and browsing 4 out of 10 times gives page view errors.
But the Windows 7 Netbook from HP typically works without issue unless Wireless totally stops for whatever reason on rare occasions on either router.
I hope Cisco can solve these problems or atleast Borealis http://www.tytec.de/Project4.htm completes his 2.0 firmware upgrade. People seem to really appreciate his work with the v1.1 routers.

Downloading Hardware & Software After Installing Microsoft 7

Hello! A virus attacked my OS, so I wiped the old one (Microsoft 7 Home Premium) and installed Microsoft 7 Ultimate (64-Bit). After this, I had no drivers, hardware, software, nothing for the wireless connection, it's all gone. If possible I'd like to find and download all of these things instead of paying for a recovery disc. I have hardware errors for the following things: Ethernet Controller Network Controller PCI Simple Communications Controller SM Bus Controller and two Unknown Devices (one located in Port_#0003.Hub_0004 and one on PCI bus) I checked to make sure the BIOS are current and downloaded and installed the most recent system and UEFI updates. I don't know what I need and don't need from the Software & Drivers Download Page or if I need more than is offered there. Please help. I tried to provide as much info as possible, but let me know if you need anything else. Thank you!

But one will do the trick pretty well. Yes, I bet it would fly with 2 Quad Cores. My TD says he has a good deal on a quad processor for something like $350, but I have no idea if this is a good deal. I also have no idea whether a quad will work in my motherboard, the D955XBK. I spent some time at Intel's site last night and it seems this bd will not handle a Quad, so this would probably mean I will have to dump my motherbd in order to get into a Quad. Intel has all these looney names for their processors -- CORE 2 DUO, CORE 2 QUAD, CORE 2 EXTREME, XEON -- one hardly knows what's what. James All of the surrent chips are good enough to handle Adobe products.

I am planning to install BOE XI 3.1, Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 and Crystal Report 2008 on my window server machine.

Once you have all your VHS tapes on your iMac, you can edit them with iMovie and iDVD to burn them.
You can also use VisualHub to directly convert and burn to DVD

Have been doing this for some time, my setup:
I use an ancient "Symphonic" VCR player connected to an Elgato Eyetv Hybrid USB dongle. That plugs into my G5 Mac, 10.5.8, which runs Eyetv software v. 2.5.3.
Recording is dead simple after fiddling around a bit with software settings for channel, etc. Start the player, hit "record" on the software and wait for the end.
The recording is saved in some obscure ".eyetv" format with file size about 4 GB per hour of recording. The software has export to a variety of formats including QT Movie which results in a substantially larger file size.
Quality? Well, it's viewable and usable for archive purposes. I'm fine with it but more discriminating folks may want something better. I end up burning the video on a DVD using iDVD and that's not the greatest anyway.
There are various Elgato units available, and the Eyetv Hybrid seems to run bout $130.

I am looking for a codec that I can render to from AE and FCP, and can preview 1/2 or 3/4 scaled and actual scle (partial) on my 30" mac desktop.
ideal size: 3840x2160 (16:9) 25 fps 604 MB/sec CODEC for desktop PB
the AJA whack test on Dulce RX shows (720MB/sec.)easily enough disk throughput to handle 604MB/sec,
but apple uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2 won't play more than 5sec.
my problem is not editing and rendering of which I will do a variety of methods, but rather
?????what uncompressed codec etc. to render TO????....how to see it,
1/2 or 3/4 scale or actual scale (partial)
on my 30" desktop
so I can check composition...before we finnally have it chopped up for seperate projectors or in the very fancy installation projection system
or to identify the hardware/software bottle necks to playing such a frame size on my desktop.

Wow, you are definitely on the bleeding edge, Hilary, trying to produce quad-HDTV on a Mac. One thing you might want to try, if you haven't already, is to post your questions at the AVScience forum. I think you will find a more focused audience there.
I don't really have answers for you, but I do have more questions and possibly some things to think about. First question; is the source material really quad-HDTV or is it lower res, like normal HDTV, and the plan is to show it through four, 1080p projectors onto a video wall? The reason I ask is, if the source material is lower res, then it seems pointless to try and encode it as quad-HD. You could just encode as HD (1080p) and then chop it up into four 960 x 540 chunks and project that.
You mention that you have encoded Apple uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 but that the file will only play for five seconds. What happens after that? Does it get choppy or does it just altogether stop playing? The answer may hold clues as to what the problem is.
What will the be the final platform for playing this video through the four projectors? Will it be the same G5 PowerMac that you are producing on or is the playback system based on different hardware? That could influence the encoding choice.
It seems the most ideal development system for what you are trying to do would not be on a 30" monitor but instead on four 23" Cinema Displays connected to two graphics boards installed in your G5. Then you could be working at full scale aross all the monitors and you wouldn't have to worry about 1/2 scale or 3/4 scale or partial full scale viewing.
It sounds like you have verified there to be adequate throughput off the disk to play the file at 25 fps but it's hard to imagine that a ~0.6 GBytes per second data stream isn't going to bottleneck somewhere on the G5. That's like 10x the data rate of FW800 if I am reading your post correctly. Maybe you meant 604 Mbps? That's just inside the (theoretical) envelope of FW800, but still a lot of data to be streaming real time without interruption. But where is the pinch point? That is the question. I'm guessing that it is disk related inspite of what the AJA whack test says. Are you using a raid by any chance? That should improve the AJA score and make for more headroom, especially if run off a SATA card.
Personally, I rarely use anything more powerful than Apple's Activity Monitor as a system monitoring tool. But I doubt that it has enough diagnostic power for this application. If you are running Leopard, DTrace might be helpful, but I have no experience with it personally. Just trying to find the bottleneck could turn into a whole project of its own. Again I refer you to the AVScience forum as a possible shortcut to the answers you seek. Good luck with your project.

PC suite hardware / software not recognised

Hi,
Any help on the following would be gr8...
Running PC Suite and Bluetooth, to an N70. Works AOK for Internet connection using One Touch Access this confirms that Bluetooth works!
But when I try and connect the N70 using Bluetooth the software rejects this with:-
"cannot use this connection type, Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available"
But the above suggests it is all aok! - I have the latest ver of PC Suite and loaded the latest Windows Bluetooth stack! etc etc ...????

Doesn't seem to be the same problem as I am experiencing! this thread is about cable issues and the problems of attaching the device. The problem I have is specific to Bluetooth and with the specufued error from the PC Suite software (that does not appear in the thread you suggested).
I did a search for the exact wording (and in part) but no hits, so I posted a thread specific to this problem. Also, if these problems are known to exsist, why hasent Nokia sorted a more convienient patch / remedy to help less technically able people, I have a small amount of PC knowledge, but do not think the average Mobile phone / PC user really knows enough to edit the registry to fix a problem! or indeed to go through several pages of dialogue to assertain which comment / instruction will fix the problem. The risk of adding more problems will certainly put some users off!
Please advise if you can assist on this problem specifically or not.
