WS_DOWNLOAD and line item with more than 1024 characters

I want to download a file with line size greater than 1024. I am in version 40B and when i use function module ws_download and it creates two lines instead of one. Is there a solution with another function module or something else?

Hi
Are you trying to download in binary format(filetype BIN) ?. Only binary format has length constraint of 1023 characters. Download in 'ASC' or 'DAT' format.
Also WS_DOWNLOAD is obsolete , use the methods of class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.

  • Line Chart with more than 15 datapoints

    I'm using Apex 3.1.
    I am trying to create a line chart with more than 15 data points. Apparently 15 is the default. Question is, How do I change the default?
    The Wiki has advice for changing the "Maximum Rows" parameter, but "Maximum Rows" is not to be found, either in the chart attributes or series attributes.
    http://wiki.shellprompt.net/bin/view/Apex/ChartIssues
    I have encountered this limitation with SVG line charts and Flash line and scatter charts. Seems like it must be an easy thing to figure out; I feel embarassed asking such a question. But I've been through all the application property pages, much of the documentation, and several tutorials... Where can I change this? It's driving me nuts!
    Thanks
    Fred

    Hello,
    Which version of APEX are you using?
    Go to your Flash Chart attributes - get into your series (click the icon) in the section of Series Query you'll find the maximum rows.

    In the Oracel Web Application Server 4.0 documment, it says

    If the text length is less than 4000 characters, everything works

    Helena, I think you might get a better response either from the SQL-PL/SQL forum, or perhaps the Portal Applications forum - both of these tend to have folks very familiar with PL/SQL and the OWA packages.
    This forum is on Web services based on SOAP, WSDL and UDDI. These can be PL/SQL based but typically don't use the mod_psql or OWA web solution.
    As a pointer, I suspect you may already be familiar with, but just in case, you can always take a look at chapter 3 of the OAS documentation, "Developer's Guide: PL/SQL and ODBC Applications" where they go through a number of examples using parameters. See:
    http://technet.oracle.com/doc/appsrvr4082/guides/plsql.pdf
    Hope this or folks from the other list can help.
    Mike.

  • Sending an email with more than 75  characters

    Please can you tell me, how i can send an email with more than 75 characters from a workflow. We need to send a link which has more than 130 characters.

    Hi Benjamin,
    You have a couple of options:
    Put your link into a container element and put that into your text instead of hardcoding it.
    Instead of the sendmail step, create a task based on SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION. This is exacly the same as the mail step minus the 'different' step editor in the builder. There you can create the text using the sapscript editor and join lines up.
    Have a look around OSS, there are some notes on this issue.
    Cheers

  • Support for file extensions with more than three characters when saving - I want my FLAC!

    Why does the Wave Editor still drop characters from filenames with more than three character extensions when you save a file? But since -opening- a FLAC file with an extension of ".flac" doesn't get chopped to ".fla", why does Audition still chop off the extra character when -saving-?
    It gets old quickly when you have to save, close and reopen files in order to get Audition's Multitrack editor to play nice and be able to find files when you reopen the Session.
    Given that the FLAC filter is open source, I may just have to modify the code and recompile it to force a save to ".fla"... But of course, ".fla" is a Flash file extension, which I also use, so that is a crude hack for me.

    Hi bro...
    use in BYTE mode in place of in TEXT mode. and at the end of each line give some special charactor so as to distinguish between lines.This is effected  by unicode check too

  • Excel 2007 to Sql server table. Column with more than 255 characters.

    Hi there,
    I am facing a problem while converting data from Excel 2007 to SQL server 2005 table. I am using BIDS 2005.I have an excel file where one particular column has more than 255 characters. I use OLEDB connection for excel file as there is no driver for Excel
    2007 in BIDS2005. I am using Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider for Excel file.
    Next, I changed advanced properties for the column to DT_NTEXT. But when I am getting errors on execution. They are:
    [OLE DB Source [1949]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.
    [OLE DB Source [1949]] Error: Failed to retrieve long data for column "action".
    [OLE DB Source [1949]] Error: There was an error with output column "action" (2046) on output "OLE DB Source Output" (1959). The column status returned was: "DBSTATUS_UNAVAILABLE".
    [OLE DB Source [1949]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_INDUCEDTRANSFORMFAILUREONERROR.  The "output column "action" (2046)" failed because error code 0xC0209071 occurred, and the error row disposition on "output column "action"
    (2046)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure.
    Please advise on how can I deal with columns having more than 255 characters in Excel file.
    Thanks!

    Here is what your connection string should look like for excel source
    Provider
    =Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
    Source=c:\temp\test.xls;Extended
    Properties="EXCEL 8.0;HDR=YES";

  • SQL Loader fails to process string columns with more than 255 characters

    Hi all,
    I am using LKM file to sqlldr(oracle) to load data from flat file to oracle. I am aware of the fact that if you don't specify length of the input character data, sqlldr uses default of 255 characters. But, in my source datastore I have specified the column length to be 1000, but sqlldr still fails to process records with more that 255 characters.
    Any idea how to change this behavior of sqlldr?
    Appreciate your response.
    Akshata

    You can change the step "Generate CTL File"
    and replace the section:
              } else {
              // The source column is a STRING => no options to add
                   format = "";
              };with
              } else {
              // The source column is a STRING => add char(length) for length greater than 255
                   taille = new Integer(colPrecision).intValue();
                   if (taille > 254)
                   format = "CHAR("+colPrecision+")";
                   else
                   format ="";
              };

  • Need to create Table Maintenance with more than 400 characters

    I need to create table maintenance in which one filed have more than 400 characters. CHAR type support between 1-255 & STRING type not supported by Table Maintenance. Is there any alternative type or solution for that?

    Hi,
    If  you assign TMG to the table, it will throw error as unable to display the field on screen. why because it can able to display upto 255 char length only.
    For this requirement you have 2 solutions :
    1) Create multiple fields and your Z table, split the data and store them as required.
    2) Create a TEXT ID and store it as a long text using FM CREATE_TEXT.
    or
    This type of text should be treated as Long Text.
    And the steps are:
    1. Create Text Object Using SE75.
    2. Create Text ID Using SE75.
    3. Now you have to Save the text with FM SAVE_TEXT.
    For example:
    The Most simple solution for it can be that Divide the field REMARKS of size 1000 in multiples of 200 characters like REMARK1, REMARK2....REMARKn.
    Now you can create two FMs :
    zset_data: To Store 1000 char long data in Table
    Here you will divide the data of Variable (type char1024) in multiples of 200 and will store in REMARK1, REMARK2.....
    zget_data: To Get 1000 char long data back from Table
    Here you will concatenate REMARK1, REMARK2..... and will store in Variable of Type char1024.
    This is the best solution if Table is not going to be maintained by Table Maintenance Generator.

  • ALV Cell with more than 255 characters.

    Hello Guru's,
    I need to display a longtext in ALV with other details. I am using READ_TEXT to get the Longtext and appending it to Internal table field, which i have defined as a string. I have debugged the code and it is containing around 450 characters. But, when i am trying to display using "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" it is only displaying 255 characters.
    Please suggest a solution.
    Thanks,
    Sudhir.

    Sap provides a set of ALV (ABAP LIST VIEWER) function modules which can be put into use to embellish the output of a report. This set of ALV functions is used to enhance the readability and functionality of any report output. Cases arise in sap when the output of a report contains columns extending more than 255 characters in length.
    In such cases, this set of ALV functions can help choose selected columns and arrange the different columns from a report output and also save different variants for report display. This is a very efficient tool for dynamically sorting and arranging the columns from a report output.
    The report output can contain up to 90 columns in the display with the wide array of display options.
    The commonly used ALV functions used for this purpose are;
    1. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET
    2. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
    3. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
    4. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET
    5. REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE
    6. REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    7. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    8. REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
    9. REUSE_ALV_POPUP_TO_SELECT

    I have a requirement to display more than 4000 characters (clob, long data type) through sql.
    Though this can be achieved through pl/sql, I am not able to get the output in sql statements. Is it possible to get this done through sql?

  • Line chart with more than 15 data series - color problem

    Hi all,
    I've built a line chart with 32 data series (user can control, which of them are displayed at a time). For series 16 to 32 I did manipulate the URL in the browser directly, because Application Express does only display parametrs for up to 15 series. This works fine so far except of displaying the colors. For each sieries I defined a different color. 29 of my 32 series are displayed in the desired color. But series 29, 31 and 32 are displayed in a default-color (#0099CC). It seems that this is a SVG-problem. In the SVG-source I find the wrong color. When I export my application, I see the right color.
    Thanks for help,
    Chris

    Hello,
    Which version of APEX are you using?
    Go to your Flash Chart attributes - get into your series (click the icon) in the section of Series Query you'll find the maximum rows.
