WS-X6148-RJ-45 + WS-F6K-PWR

Our customer has a Cat6509 switch with one faulty WS-X6148-RJ-45 module. The "show module" commands shows there is an sub module WS-F6K-PWR on it. Can I order a replacement module to WS-X6148-RJ-45 together with PoE sub-module (for ex. WS-X6148-RJ45V) in order I could avoid removing and installing the WS-F6K-PWR from and to the WS-X6148-RJ-45 during its replacement at customer premises?

hi
As per the datasheet aval both the card are similar except u have the upgrade option in the WS-X6148-RJ-45 module to the PoE DFC.
But the later module comes up with a PoE DFC inbuilt..
WS-X6148-RJ-45 : Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series 48-Port 10/100 RJ-45 Classic Interface Module; upgradable to support Cisco Prestandard PoE Daughter Card (part number WS-F6K-VPWR=) or to IEEE 802.3af PoE daughter card (part number WS-X6148-45AF-UG=)
WS-X6148-RJ45V : Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series 48-Port 10/100 RJ-45 Classic Interface Module with Cisco Prestandard PoE Daughter Card (that is, includes daughter card [part number WS-F6K-VPWR=])

  • Message on iPhone 3GS screen  Pwr off/on;  Cancel / Accept

I manage my business's AT&T account and iPhones. One of my users had his phone go off the 3G network sometime over the weekend. I called AT&T and had them re-send the signal to the phone. I shut the phone off, turned it back on and it seemed to be working fine - accepting email over 3G network, etc.
About two minutes after it started working fine, the phone popped up a message with a black screen that said, simply, "Pwr off/on" At the bottom of the screen were the [red] and [green] Cancel or Accept options. I chose Accept and the phone remained powered on and working fine. I have never seen this message before (and have been working with iPhones since they first came out) and was curious if anyone else has seen the message and knows what it means and/or why I got it. Thanks!

That message does come up sometimes - usually when you first activate the phone. I think it has something to do with registering itself to the network. That will also happen if AT&T makes a change to a tower and you're on it, the same message will pop up.
Funny enough, if you hit the Accept button, nothing happens. I expected the phone to restart on its own, but it didn't. I ended up just manually powering it off and back on again.

I have a new mac book pro (sept 2014) and am suddenly stuck on the log-in screen. Keyboard input is not working to enter my password. Seems to be a log in issue as keyboard works for forced troubleshooting. (And b/c when I first noticed the problem, I was able to enter my log in password but then everything sort of froze. Now, no ability to enter the password.) Already tried a basic restart and a cmmnd/ cntrl/ pwr troubleshoot to no effect.

  • PLED and FP PWR/SLP LED fun

Got a new case today to replace a very tired and hot one from a time past :P The new case has, for the power light, a negative wire and a positive wire. I first tried putting both terminals into FP PWR/SLP, and in either direction it did not work.
Now with the -ve wire into the GND position on JFP2, and the +ve wire on PLED, the light comes on during VGA initialization, and then goes off when the POST screen appears. It does not later relight. Note however I do not have an operating system installed currently (replacing faulty disk too).
Now this is suspicious, as previously the LED remained lit (old case), even during POST. Annoyingly I can't remember what position I had the wires in otherwise there wouldnt be a problem, however this seems the best bet (putting +ve on GND would be silly as you arent going to get any positive flow from the ground...)
Is this just the BIOS being silly due to lack of an OS, or have I done something wrong?
    Board is DKA790GX Plat.
    Thanks!

Have they got information, at the end of the connections?
Yes. White wire has a triangle on the connector (ground), green wire at the opposite end 'third' pin location has no marking. Presume the green to be + positive. This is with both the Lian-Li P7B & PC60B series cases. Since the OP didn't specify what brand case he has, my Power LED case connector may be different than his. I'll try modding the connector on a rig not used as my primary & test it out.
It's really not that big a deal for me since I have a side window, & it is rather obvious if it is powered on or not. Hopefully the OP will be back with info on the case brand & specifics about if it is a 2 pin or 3 pin case connector.

  • 4-pin CPU-PWR connector on x99s SLI Plus

I'm attempting to install a Kraken x-61 cooler into my Corsair 780T case and the MSI X99S SLI Plus mobo.  One step says:
Connect the 3-pin power cable from the pump to the 4-pin CPU-PWR connector on the motherboard.
In the MSI x99S SLI Plus mobo and the manual (En-6) I can't find anything called CPU-PWR.  The 3-pin power cable fits into the 4-pin CPUFAN1 connector, but I don't know if that's the correct connection.  Could someone tell me where the CPU-PWR connector is on the MSI X99S SLI Plus motherboard?

it can be confusing to start with but you get used to it once you have done it a few times!
so yes connect it to the fan header for CPU as that line has a sense pin that will detect if your pump fails and will shut the computer off to prevent the CPU overheating to stop it breaking the processor! just take your time and anything your not sure of feel free to ask us!

when i pwr up my macbook, its nonresponsive and a box pops up that says the finder quit unexpectedly

Hi, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You could try booting into Safe Mode. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
If this works you will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out.

  • Which Pwr Mgr drivers are needed for XP system in T60

The T60 Drivers list shows two different listings for XP Power Manager.
Which one should I use or do I use both?
Recently had to re-install Windows and Pwr Mgr is giving an exception message while trying to run PWRMGRTR.DLL and the normally green Pwr Mgr icon in the Task Bar is white with dotted black border.
My system is T60 2007-49U running XP Pro.

    Good day.
Looking at this T60 Driver Matrix: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-62928
I see only one Power Management Driver (v1.67.0.02, July 2013), for all Windows versions, and only one Power Manager Application (v5.20, April 2013), specifically for XP. Are these what you have installed?
If you're looking at a different driver listing page, would you post the link please?

  • Difference in between Cisco CP-PWR-CUBE- 3 and CP-PWR-CUBE adapter

I need to buy CISCO power adapter for my CISCO IP phone 7942 phone. but I need to confirm if I buy CP-PWR-CUBE adapter it will work for my IP phone? or I need to buy only CP-PWR-CUBE 3 adapter. As input and output voltage and current for both the adapters are same. Kindly advise.

    Hi,
you need to go with CP-PWR-CUBE-3 [as datasheet shared by Terry ] since CP-PWR-CUBE-2  and CP-PWR-CUBE  are already end of sale and support.

  • Catalyst 4506 and Modules in Pwr Over state

    Hello,
First of all, my excuses for my bad english.
I am experiencing a problem with a Cisco Catalyst 4506.
The switch is filled with 48 port PoE blades (WS-X4248-RJ45V).
    The error we receive is:
Sept 5 15:40:12: %C4K_IOSMODPORTMAN-4-INLINEPOWEROVERWARNING: Inline power exceeds threshold: Module status changed to 'Pwr Over'
Sept 5 16:37:04: %C4K_IOSMODPORTMAN-6-INLINEPOWEROK: Inline power within limits: Module status changed to 'Ok'

    According to the Cisco website:
    Explanation
This message indicates that the measured PoE is at least 50 w higher than the configured value. The switch has either misconfigured PoE or an unauthorized powered device that is connected to the switch and is drawing a lot of PoE.
Out put for the commands sh power details and sh module all are attached.
The switch has no PoE devices on the specific blade.
    Atleast not that we know.
Does any one know some other solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Martijn Groenleer

Well, blade six went offline on the first row of the log i posted earlier.
The problem is, the log doesn't mention in the message which module went offline.
About the 'efficiency' i noticed this also, what could be causing this? Power supplies are already replaced. PoE is on default settings currently.

  • Linksys SPA942 on Cisco Catalyst C3524-XL-PWR

I'm almost pulling out my hair trying to connect a Linksys SPA942 IP phone to use the inline power of a Cisco catalyst C3524-XL-PWR. The switch has been set up as per the procedures for Cisco IP phones. However when I plug in the Linksys phone it does not come on. The linksys SPA942 is a IEEE 802.3af poe device and I expected that plugging it into the Cisco catalyst c3524-xl-pwr should do the trick. Does anyone know if the phone is compatible with the switch? I yes how do I get the bleeding phone to power off the switch?
    TIA

The 1999 era Catalyst C3524-XL-PWR switch does NOT support IEEE 802.3af power, only Cisco proprietary power for Cisco IP phones and wireless access points. This is a hardware limitation. This is very clear in any of the data sheets or documentation for that switch on Cisco's web site.
You would need a C3550 POE switch or higher to support IEEE 802.3af. If you are using a chassis based Catalyst switch (i.e. 4500 or 6500) then you will need to confirm the linecard support IEEE 802.3af POE, most do not.
Hope that helps. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
    /Rick

  • Compatibility of WS-X6148-RJ-21 with CATOS 6.4(4A)

    Hi All,
I've few Cat6509 running with WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE and WS-X6248A-TEL. I've purchase the WS-X6148-RJ-21 to replace the EOL WS-X6248A-TEL. However, I'm not sure is WS-X6148-RJ-21 compatible with Sup1A and CATOS 6.4(4A) Kindly advise.
    Thanks

According to below release note. The 6148-RJ21 min. CatOS is 6.4(1) and recommeded 6.4(11). However, you also need to determine the PoE support in this module is Cisco pre-standard PoE ot 802.3af.
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/relnotes/78_11235.htm
And the other way is to use software advisor from Cisco that can tell the software requirement of particular hardware. Or use configuration tool to setup the whole system and verify the compatibility between modules, sup, CatOS, etc.
You can search Cisco web for these kind of information.
    Hope this helps.
