WSearch Problem on 2012 R2

Hello ,
I have 2012 R2 DC
I install Windows Search (WSearch) , search on share folders work fine for all client in the lan , after few hours randomly all clients not getting any result on search file or see thumbnails.
for temporary solve for that issue i restart WSEARCH Service and then all client can search again and that work fine for couple hours and then i need restart service again , i tried look for event log: this is the only event found:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds was reached while waiting for a transaction respone from the wsearch service
and there no another event.
Any Help about that ?

It should be Event ID 7011, please refer to following article and check if can help you.

In addition, would you please let me confirm whether you had installed any third-party application in the Windows
Server 2012 R2? Meanwhile, please perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflicts and check if this issue still exists.

Airplay problem with 2012 MacbookPro w/ Mountain Lion

I have a 2012 MacbookPro that I recently purchased. I also just bought the AppleTV 3. I upgraded to the Mountain Lion last week and initially the airplay icon showed up in the menu bar, as well as the display in system preferences and I was able to mirror my MacbookPro perfectly. Now, my MacbookPro is not recognizing the AppleTV. The Airplay option in the menu bar and the display is gone. My MacbookPro and AppleTV are connected to the same Wifi and they have both been restarted and updated to the newest software! Why is my MacbookPro not giving me the Airplay option?! Please help!

Problem maya 2012 and lion!

Hello,
I got a problem that many others also have. I installed lion a week ago, and i got maya 2012 today. So when i where trying to install he said on the and of the installation that is was not compatible with mac os x 10.7. This is for me a big problem, i hope that you guys from apple know that there are people that work with such software! I need a patch immediately! I hope apple contact on this discussion.

IPhone 6 connection problem with 2012 Acura TL

New IPhone 6 will drop a call on a regular basis and then pick up the call 4-5 seconds later while driving in my 2012 Acura TL. . I downloaded the latest OS 8.1.1 and it appears to have made it worse. Have tried deleting and reconnecting the phone to the car's Bluetooth but no improvement. Is this an IPhone issue or an Acura issue? If an IPhone issue any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Define "sync with". Does it establish a bluetooth connection for handsfree use? Are you having a problem with contacts? The iPhone supports PBAP (Phone Book Access Protocol) for accessing contacts. PBAP will pull your contact list automatically at connection time. If your system wants you to transfer your contacts, it's probably using rSAP (Rrmote SIM Access Protocol). The iPhone does not support rSAP. Most modern smartphones don't base on my understanding, but I'm not an expert on Android so I won't swear to that.
You may be able to get your system updated by the dealer.

Remote Desktop local printer redirection problem - Server 2012 Foundation

Hi,
I am trying to print from Windows Server 2012 Foundation to my local printer hosted on Windows 7.
When I enable local resources in the RDP client, I can see my printers on the server like redirected. All seems like no problem occured. But only print does not work. ;-)
I can see the document name in the queue with Error status.
I tried set up GP with disabling Easy print, the drivers are identical on both machines, event logs are clear.
The server is freshly installed, running only File server role. No Domain controller role is set. No Terminal Service is set (i think in Foundation is it not possible), only allowed RDP.
RDP client is the newest. I have not any problem to print from other servers (WS2003, WS2008R2) using this printer. Everytime is the printer automatically redirected to TS*** port and works.
I spent few hours searching solution with no effect.

Please check you have enabled necessary port for printer redirection on server side. You can check “Do not allow client print redirection” is disable under GPO setting. Also the user must have enough permission to print the document. Please check below link

WMI variable problem on 2012 R2

I've been using WMI command line event consumers for years now that trigger on certain WMI events for auditing purposes. The methods that I've used in previous versions of Windows no longer work on 2012 R2 (and possibly 2012 -- never tried it).
From my understanding, when using variables in the command line event consumer, a carriage return or a new line is being added to the response. Here is the CommandLineTemplate string:

The first variable passes to the vbs script successfully, but the other arguments don't get passed to the script. If I change /class to static text, it passes class and generated, but then stops. The only time I don't see the carriage return
is when there is no value, like %madeup%. It returns <unknown> or something similar and continues on as expected.
I've tried adding double quotes around the arguments, but that didn't change the behavior. I'm not sure what else to do, other than submit a support request on an MSDN subscription.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Weird VM move problem - HyperV 2012

We’re currently running an evaluation of HyperV 3.0 (we’re a VMWare house currently) and we have two HyperV hosts, one in each of our data centres.
We’ve created a single VM on each host and are currently in the process of testing the VM move process.
On each host we have two Virtual switches. One of the virtual switches is configured for the local VLAN at each datacentre. The other virtual switch is a common “extended” VLAN which exists on both hosts.
With only the two “local” switches in place, we can move the VM from host to host without a problem. However, with the common VLAN switch in place on both hosts, we consistently get the following error:
This appears to not be a networking issue. When both VMs are configured on the “extended” VLAN, we can successfully ping the VMs across the link – but the move simply refuses to work.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what to try next?

Make sure you initiate the 'move' (e.g. Live Migration) from the Hyper-V Manager console running on the
source server. You can only use the Hyper-V Manager console on the destionation server only when you ahve configured Kerberos authentication for Live Migration.

General User Interface Data Flow Problem (LabVIEW 2012)

I am having problems reading & checking user input to a tabbed panel (see the tab "Test Parameters" in the attached example).
In essence I need to set and test many parameters.
In the example I need to create a binary mask from four select switches. On its own the scheme works a treat but in the context of
the tabbed panel the switches are never "reached". I tried to put a while structure around the switches (which works ex-vivo,
see attached "channelselect.vi") but the switches are never reached when I step through the code. Basically, I do not want to
leave the pane until all parameters have been set and verifyied.
I tried case structures (by group), flat structures (group by frame), Event Structures (event by nutton change)
I anticipate the same problems with the other sets of parameters. I need to change - set - check, in any order.
Understand the "setting" mechanism is tied to a sub-vi/class method where the parameter is tested, set and verified.
This is a long winded approach to ask the basic question "how would you lay it out"? I am sure this is a basic misunderstanding
on my part of the dataflow paradigm. I am not looking for anyone to do my work for me but I am looking to understand how this
works so I can get on with my day.

You can still have the tab control. You just don't need to do all of your processing when the user changes the tab. You can make event cases on the button presses as well. Treat the VI as an entire VI, not individual tabs that you have to manage.

IPhone connection problems to 2012 Honda since iOS 8.

My new iPhone 6 does not connect consistently with hand-free system on my 2012 Honda. Prior iPhones running iOS 7 and earlier worked great. The iOS 8.1 update didn't help at all. The phone seems to work fine with the Honda system, but often I can't play audio content from iPhone thru Bluetooth. The system indicator on the Honda screen shows the phone is connected, but when I turn on the audio in the car and then try to play content from Audible app or iTunes, it says there is no device connected. Usually I can turn off the car completely, restart and get a connection - but not always.
Also, the Honda system used to receive text messages from the phone that it would play back thru simulated voice audio. That doesn't work at all anymore - system doesn't acknowledge text messages ever, let alone play them.
I've also tried tethering the iPhone to the Honda system via its USB connection, and that seems to work equally inconsistently.

An visual illustration of my problem with V4's "process 2012"

Tonight's sunset taken with a Nikon D700 w/400mm f2.8 lens. Here is the same photo and its virtual copy with very little done to them yet except one is set to 2012 and the other set to 2010. both were left at Adobe Standard, then set to auto tone to get the fairest comparison possible:
2012. Notice the thick yellow transition of mostly one color. While the background looks a little clearer, you must butcher it to death in order to smooth out that ugly band.
And I am pretty sure the shadow color is very slightly "off". I realize that "off" is relative, but I would call this one "off" because it is the newer process. This 2012 color might actually look slightly better, but that's not the point --it should look identical to 2010 "as shot". But I can live with that --the big issue is what is causing the thick ugly band.
2010: Notice that the gradient from bright to dark is much smoother (and easier to work with). This is a much easier start point for developing. I'd say 10 steps max would turn this into a decent image. I have no idea if it could even be done in 2012.
This is the core of my problem with 2012 --the contrast does not work evenly across all brightnesses. They made some things look good at the great expense of others. You cannot adjust one brightness range of a photo without thoroughly trashing another.
2012 appears to work great on perfect auto-matrix-exposed photos of medium dynamic range. Another kind of photo I take are action event photos in uneven arena lighting which are all deliberately underexposed because there is no second chance to capture a winning moment (a blown-out photo will not get used by an exhibitor -- this camera body is quite forgiving of underexposure). These are similarly difficult to work with in 2012 for the same reasons.
How many types of different photos (e.g., action, portrait, landscape, various exposure extremes, etc) was this alpha version tested on? And who do they have evaluating these test results, software engineers or actual artists?
One answer might be to just keep using 2010 --that is not the point I am trying to make. That would mean this product is no longer improving for me, the user.
Any constructive feedback, suggestions, links, history lessons, etc. would be very appreciated.

Yeah, I think it's a common mistake to dive into the shadows or highlights slider before taking a good-enough whack at exposure. And, in my opinion, nothing wrong with doing that, as long as you remember that exposure is a very key adjustment in PV2012, and it should always be revisited before finalizing / fine tuning. It's always good to take a whack at contrast too before hitting highlights and shadows, but in my opinion, it is far less critical to overall tonability than exposure is. Once exposure is set correctly, you can fine tune contrast & highlights/shadows with relative impunity, but it does not work so well to try and set contrast/highlights/shadow and then fine tune exposure.
Also, it's possible that exposure needs to be set higher on average than most newerbies realize, and if it's too bright knock it down with -highlights and -blacks. The opposite may also be true for some people, I don't know. But for me, in Lr3, I was very careful not to set exposure too high for fear of blowing out the highlights (and not being a big fan of Lr3 highlight recovery), *and* I was careful not to set brightness too high to keep from washing out the midtones. Which left fill-light, which I used to brighten, but Lr3 fill would often degrade quality if pushed too hard. So, I often lived with not optimally brightened photos, brightened here or there with a touch of tone curve (and/or locals).
That same technique does not work so well in Lr4, since shadows slider may not have enough kick to it until exposure is boosted - one of the reasons people coming from Lr3 often complain about Lr4 shadows slider, before they've really learned how to set exposure.
In Lr4, highlight recovery is sorta like an improved right-side version of Lr3 fill. i.e. one can "over-brighten", and rely on highlights slider to check it (analogous to "under-brightening" in Lr3 and using fill to compensate). -whites is more akin to Lr3 highlight recovery, only different...
Another thing: I almost always start out editing with the exact same values for -highlights as +shadows. And only during fine tuning, maybe choose to diverge. It's surprising how often having those values equal and opposite can allow one to find the correct exposure, and only then, maybe, skew highlights/shadows, as a fine tuning thing.
Also, for concert photos, or any other situation when there is a big lump of really dark tones that are important, and a small lump of really light tones that are important (e.g. concert lights), and a dearth of midtones, -whites and +blacks sliders can play bigger roles than -highlights and +shadows for "recovery & fill", than in other more "normal" photos.
Lastly, my Lr4 tone curves, more often than not (and more often than in Lr3), have a debrightening shape to them, since sometimes it seems good to set exposure higher than I really want in order to achieve overall "tonability", then drop brightness strategically using the curve (and/or locals).
I'm sure other people do things differently with equal success.

Final thoughts:
The "recipe" I've given here (-blacks, +whites, relatively high exposure & contrast, fairly strong -highlight = +shadows, a modicum of clarity) makes for a very punchy photo with highly detailed shadows, midtones, and highlights. I tend to like such a look on many photos - shooting landscapes and macros, etc... But it can be a bit too intense for portraits or if for whatever reason you prefer a more subtle "natural"/neutral look. One of the awesome things about PV2012 is that you can control the style of look you get. If you want the opposite, then do the opposite, e.g. easy on the -blacks or even use +blacks instead of +shadows, back off on the contrast and exposure so you need less -highlights, use whites = 0 or -whites. You can end up with a very old-school photo kinda look that way - more subtle and gentle, softer...
Rule 5: Enjoy!

Reporting Services install on SQL 2012 SP1 instance blank

Sorry for the duplicate . . . didn't think the first on posted due to VDI locking up.
I have looked at all the links and tried the suggestions and I am still having the problem:
SCCM 2012 R2 SQL 2012 SP1 SSRS installed and configured (separate boxes)
When I try to add the reporting services role, it finds the SCCM database and verifies connectivity to it, the SSRS instance drop down is blank.
Using a domain service accout with local admin rights on both machines and sa rights in SQL.
There is a firewall between the Primary Server and the SQL Server and ports 80, 135, 443, 445, 1433 and the high RPC range.
Does anyone know how it is determining the instance? I have read it is via WMI but I am not sure if it is a query or executing a method. I have verified the svc acct has the correct DCOM privs.

Server 2012 VMs hosted on 2012 R2 Hyper-V fail to update, all other OS VMs are fine

Host: 2012 R2
VMs: 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2
Systems has been running fine until I decided to update my VMs a few days ago with the Dec 10th updates. 2008 R2 VMs update no problem, 2012 R2 VMs update no problem, but 2012 VMs fail to update. I spent 7 hours on the phone with MSFT and they
can not figure it out. They are going to continue working with me, but wanted to post this to see if anyone else was having issues updating their 2012 VMs on 2012 R2 Hyper-V.
The 2012 VMs used to updated just fine until this round of updates.
To trouble shoot, I discounted all my storage and put a spare HDD into the host and setup up Hyper-V all over again and setup a few test VMs. Even tested VMs on various storage options and direct connected drives. Same deal... 2008 R2 and 2012
R2 update, but 2012 will not update. I even setup 2012 on ESXI and VMWARE Fusion and they both update straight away.
I'm 3 days into this... head is about to pop :(

Playlist update problems

As a premium member I expect my Spotify playlists to update on a weekly basis as it is suposed to work but that hasn't happened. I have the Top 100 Hip Hop tracks by Spotify playlist and it hasn't updated since 4/6/15. I am not really sure why this occurs but as a paying member one should be able to manually update a playlist if it fails to do so on its own. If Spotify is to get any more of my money they had better fix this. I see many have these sorts of issue and it's just sad because from what I read around the internet is that this has been a problem since 2012. Fix it already. Get some real support for paying customers as well. From a happy but disappointed subscriber. (If any Spotify employees actually read these).

I am so disappointed. I paid for 3 months of service to give it another try and my playlist still does not update weekly like its supposed to. This is a playlist labeled as " Top 100 Hip Hop Tracks on Spotify". it is by Spotify, I would be embarassed about that. You would figure that that playlist would update as intended since you folks are hosting it. This playlist still has not updated since 4/6/15. I could maybe even see this happening to a free subscriber but for a paying subscriber this is unexceptable. It does not seem to be something you guys can get under control either since I see all over the place online that this seems to be a common problem with playlists. When I pay for a service I expect it to work properly. The playlist updated correctly twice and then just stopped updating. I really wish someone would take this a bit more serious and get it fixed. I must say that when my 3 months run out if its still not working then I will not use the service any longer. I am not going to pay for something that does not work correctly. I expected more to be done with this issue the first time I posted about this.

Windows 2012 - SYSVOL replication and NETLOGON share

After reading 100 tons of articles and links i decided to open this thread.
I know today is 1st of april, but unfortunately for me this is not a joke.
given:
two 2003 DC's - physical servers
two 2008 DC's - VM's on ESX 5.1 hosts
two 2012 DC's - VM's on ESX 5.5 hosts
domian fucntional level 2003
situation:
we plan to decom the 2003's.
The 2008 DC's are in place since a while and working ok.
We plan to upgrade to 2012 and here it is where the trouble starts.
Firstly, I couldn't, by any means, to promote 2012 as DC's until i moved all the FSMO roles from the 2003 DC's to the 2008 DC's.
After lots of work with the network team we made all the right connections opened the firewalls, made the DCDIAG and DNS tests and the only problem reported are the SYSVOL replication and NETLOGON share.
I tried all the tools out there to check the replication and the last one is Microsoft's AdRplstatus Tool which made me think that either Microsoft makes fun of me, either i'm the dumbest windows admin on this planet.
This tool reports that there are NO ERRORS in replicating SYSVOL, but when i run the command 'net share' the 'domain.com\sysvol\scripts' is not there. Further more checking, i try to access '\\domain.com\sysvol' - directory under which i must find the 'policies'
and 'scripts' folders and, Sysvol is empty - obviously these are present when i do this check from the 2008 DC's or 2003 DC's.
Is there a known issue for these problems regarding 2012 and ESX 5.5 ? - still, i doubt it.

The PTR record query for 1.0.0.127 is still there but i will change it manually, my DNS is set as primary to point to the server itself by it's IP and not 127.0.0.1.
still, that DNS server with that error is a linux DNS, but all my DC's have DNS role on and fully replicating and working, including the 2012's.

To perform non-authoritative restore of sysvol, you set the Burflag value & system will automatically tries to sync contents of sysvol with its replicating partner DC. Its not mandatory to select any particular DC for sysvol replication becasue in a
same domain, all DC's shares the same sysvol content.
Sometime, if initialization of FRS doesn't start, you have to follow the below article. Its also applicable to windows 2008 even as long as your using FRS for replication.

Its better to find out what went wrong with the overall AD domain infra that sysvol has not been able to contact its partner for sysvol replication using depth assessment of the domain. It can be the network,firewall,antivirus or in-built firewall port issues
which might have broken sysvol replication.
