WSOD, error 21 during restore

I woke up this morning and my phone was dead. Plugged it into the wall to start charging it, phone never responded. Tried an alternate wall charger, nothing. Plugged it into my computer, a screen popped up saying the iphone needs to be restored before it can be used in itunes library. Downloaded the update, which took an hour and several attempts, phone went to verify restoration with apples servers, iphone screen turned white and error 21 came up. Looked it up and found mainly security issues, so I disabled all my firewall antispyware antimalware to open up the ports for the servers and still same issue. Reinstalled itunes with latest updates, nothing, created a new windows acct and downloaded itunes there, nothing. I'm not super computer savvy so I'd like to avoid having to delete files and installing or reinstalling anything else. I've tried pressing power and home at the same time, which is how I got to recovery mode to begin with. I'm active duty so I don't have time to go to ATT or apple stores.

Took the phone into an apple store today, apparently there was indeed a hardware issue. The tech connected the phone to their computer and got the same error, he looked up the error code and wasn't able to come up with an answer to troubleshoot so he replaced the iphone entirely.
IF YOU GET ERROR CODE 21 AND CANNOT RESTORE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, GO TO AN APPLE STORE AND HAVE IT REPLACED.

  • Error during restore/recovery and 'open resetlogs'

    Hello forum. I'm attempting to restore a database to a new host and have run into an error during the opening of the database (with resetlogs). The renaming of the datafiles, restore, switching of datafiles, and recovery are all done by an rman script, the contents of which are below:
    # Restore production database to DR site using file system
    # instead of ASM
    run {
    set newname for datafile 1 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/system.dbf';
    set newname for datafile 2 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/undotbs1.dbf';

    set newname for datafile 7 to '/opt/oracle/product/10gR2/oradata/DB01/file2.dbf';
    restore database;
    switch datafile all;
    recover database;
    I get the following output:

    I searched for a decription of the 06054 error, and found that if the archive logs weren't available, then to run "alter database open resetlogs;", which I did. Here's the output:
    RMAN> alter database open resetlogs;

    ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319]
    I've done all of this twice now, with the same result. I've googled PLS-801 and found more than a few instances of people getting this code, but not during a database open after a restore. Can anyone shed some light on what might have gone wrong? In the interest of brevity, I left out the rest of the restore process prior to running the database restore, but other than setting "compatible" and "db_recovery_file_dest_size", it was all by the book.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply Pierre.
    I am not using RMAN Duplicate. Yes, the source of the backup is an RAC. The destination is a single server, with the DB on the filesystem. Here's an overview of of the commands I ran and the procedure.
    Copied tar'd backup controlfile and datafiles to destination machine. Untar'd. Install 10.2.0.1.0 on destination machine, patch to 10.2.0.2.0.
    OS> sqlplus /nologin
    SQL> alter system set compatible = '10.2.0.2.0' scope=spfile;
    SQL> alter system set db_recovery_dest_file_size = '8g'; scope spfile;
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    SQL> startup; (to verify changes took...)
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    OS> Copy control file from untar'd dir and place in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/, truncate name to c-DBID-date-00.
    OS> rman target /
    RMAN> startup nomount;
    RMAN> set dbid <dbid from control file>;
    RMAN> restore controlfile from autobackup; (finds control file with no problem...)
    RMAN> alter database mount;
    RMAN> @/home/oracle/rman_dr.rman (script cited in first post, to rename datafiles from ASM to filesystem, restore, switch files, and recover...)
    RMAN> alter database open resetlogs; (as cited before...)
    If I'm not using Duplicate and not specifying dates, the UNTIL/SET UNTIL commands aren't necessary, correct?

  • Phone error during restore

    Hello,
    Today my phone got stuck on "Searching for Signal." After talking with Verizon, I decided to do a restore.  It took several tries to get it to go, and now it keeps getting an error 1669 during "Restoring iPhone firmware."  I haven't dropped it anytime recently and have an otterbox on it.

    Has your phone been jailbroken before you tried to restore? If yes, this is the cause for this error number.

  • Error During restoring a database through RMAN in Oracle 9i

    Hi all,
    I have taken a full backup in oracle 9i through RMAN in one server(Solaris).
    After that moved that backupset to another server. Server Locations are same. I need to restore the backup in the new server.
    I am using pfile.
    Steps I followed:
    1. Using pfile i have started the db in nomount.
    2. Then restored the controlfile from backup and mounted the database.
    3. then tried to restore the database - I have to restore three of my datafiles to different location, hence i used "set new name "
    But RMAN threw an error while restoring.
    RMAN-00558:
    RMAN-01009:
    File not found.
    Can anyone help to resolve this error.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks, but I took the backup of the database using the command:
    backup database;Only this command i issued.
    In the new server, I tried to list the backup using list backup command by putting the db in mount stage.
    I m not able to view the backup information.
    Is there any command to register the backup information using the catalog?

  • Errors while restoring iPhone

    Hello,
    A couple of days my iphone suddenly stopped working.
    I can now only see the itunes logo in the screen.
    When i connect the phone to my computer, it says i need to recover,
    but when i try to recover it, i get different errors (21, 2002, 1600, 1603, 1604). I'm able to get the phone into DFU-mode, but same errors when i try to recover. I have tried to recover different firmwares, but still no success.
    I'm running the lates itunes, 10.0.1.22, and i have tried to re-install it.
    I don't care if all information is lost, i just want to get the phone working again. Does anyone have a clue on what i should do?
    Best regards.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

    back up the files u find in those 2 folders back up them and then delete from those folders,connect ur phone to usb pc and turn it to dfu mode,now itunes will promt u to restore it,press restore phone,itunes will download the file needed for restore and hopefuly u will not get errors.

  • In updating my iPod to 6.1.2, I received an error during the update.  Now, ipod is not rebooting.  Has screen showing usb to Itunes picture.   Turning off and back on it goes back to this picture.  I don't know how to reset so that I can restore my backup

    In updating my iPod to 6.1.2, I received an error during the update.  Now, my ipod is not rebooting.  It continues to display a screen showing usb to Itunes picture.   Turning off and back on, it goes back to this picture.  I don't know how to reset so that I can restore from my backup.
    A similar thing happened when I updated the ios on my ipad.  But, I was able to reboot, and then restore from backup.   How can I get my ipod to reboot and allow restore when it is not even recognized as I reconnect to my computer?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • After disk recovery, restoration incomplete error - error during PININST_BBV - and can't access BIOS

    Hi I haad got :Ultrabook HP ENVY 6-1103el

    There are 3 options, Save Log, Details, Retry. When I try 'Retry' it asks for recovery media. I've put my recovery disk 6 and disk 1 in, but nothing happens. Oddly enough, the command prompt (cmd.exe) is open at this point. Now whenever I restart the laptop it goes to the same restoration error screen with the command prompt open and minimized in the lower left hand corner.
    Pressing F10 (BIOS Setup) or F11 (System Recovery) after starting doesn't do anything, it just goes straight the the Restoration Incomplete message. Pressing Esc during start goes to the Startup menu, but pressing F10 or F11 there just does the same thing. F2 System Diagnostics works. I ran quick memory check, everything passed. I ran the long hard drive check. Overall it passed, and each one passed except for optimized dst it said 'not available'. When I choose BIOS Management from Diagnostics UEFI, and try either a BIOS Update or BIOS Rollback, I get 'The selected BIOS image was not available.' My system's BIOS ID is F.23. When I try to select a BIOS Image to apply, I've clicked through the file trees and there's nothing there to choose.
    I tried recovering the BIOS pressing Windows and b key when starting. The screen stayed blank and the caps lock light kept flashing but nothing happened. The screen just stayed blank and no bios update screen appeared.
    Did my BIOS become corrupted during the system restoration from disk?
    Any  suggestions or options?
    Thanks.

    Hi  larag,
    Thank you for your reply.
    As I stated in my original post, I suggest you contact HP support and explain in detail the events that happened, when you tried to do the recovery.  The contact information is in my original post.
