The iWeb hit counter on Tue, Oct 10, 2006 9:00 AM PST
Tue, Oct 10, 2006 8:58 AM PST
Is everyone else with the iWeb hit counter getting a white question mark in a blue box? My hit counter has been out ever since yesterday afternoon. For a brief time it reappeared and now it is gone again.
Thank you.
Lorna in Southern CaliforniaThe counters are back now, but hits made during the outage don't seem to have counted (there were no cookies from my iWeb pages at that time). There is more on this on another thread.
By the way, Lorna, I didn't answer your last question to me some time ago - my Japanese is far from fluent, but I get by.

Is 4.x - desktop - being desupported or not in Oct/2006?
I'm at a client that's holding on to 4.x desktop and 4i ('ya, long story).
I've seen the Oracle desupport notices, but they are confusing in that I read that 4 is being desupported to ALL customers on Oct/31/2006, but then on further reading it sounds like it might just be 4i (ie: the crummy non-10g web version) is the one being desupported while the 4.1 desktop is being extended for Apps customers to 2009.
Can anyone confirm this as it sure sounds confusing.
Thx.
RussHi Russ
To all intents and purposes it is being desupported at the end of this month and customers are urged to upgrade. Take a look at my blog posting:
http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2006/09/releases-and-patch-numbers-september.html
Extended support will continue through October 2009 but this kind of support is quite pointless. This support includes the following:
Telephone and Electronic support, consisting of:
1. Answering customer questions
2. Providing customers with known workarounds and already available fixes, when possible
3. Providing customers with migration plans to fully supported products
It does NOT include the following:
1. New fixes to correct software errors (provided during ECS only)
2. Backporting of fixes from later versions to the customer's version
3. Certification with supported products, new operating system releases or new compilers (for example, if a new release of the E-Business Suite (Oracle Applications) is made generally available, Oracle does not guarantee that the supported Database release (in ES phase) will be certified with the new E-Business Suite release)
4. Escalation support, guaranteed response times or skill availability
5. Help with products in the ES phase that are having problems running the current supported products or new operating system versions
So you can see that the support being offered is no better than the support customers can get in this forum. They will NOT get any new fixes, patches, certification on new platforms, E.g. Windows Vista which is out next year, or certification on any new database versions - 11i is to be released later this month but 4.1 cannot use it.
You should try and advise your customer to upgrade and not stay on 4.1.
Best wishes
Michael -

Notification of meeting on subject line
An intermittent problem exists when a particular user gets notified of an upcoming meeting. This is what she recently had displayed in the subject line:
=?ISO-8859-1?B?Q2FsZW5kYXIgcmVtaW5kZXI6IFJldmlldyBjZXJ0aWZpY2F
0ZXMgb2YgaW5zdXJhbmNlL3dhaXZlcnM=?
This was notification for:
Calendar reminder: Review certificates of insurance/waivers
This user is using the latest PCPine client. I only have 2 people that get these gobbled messages and both are using PCPine. Most users are using Outlook or Outlook Express, Mulberry, etc. I'm thinking it is the client BUT this only happens when notification for a meeting is received from Oracle Calendar.Seems like a character set problem in this client. Maybe there were some national cpecial chars in the subject that could not be displayed.

SAP Scripting Languages on the SDN Day - Amsterdam
I would like to give a short summary of what happened on the SDN Day in Amsterdam, the 17-th Oct. 2006.
After the breakfast Craig Cmehil gave us a welcome to the event and presented the schedule. We started with a power networking session: Four 20-minute Sessions with Six SDNers per Table. As I was sitting at the Scripting Languages table, I would like to share some impressions of the atmosphere there. We talked much about the emmerging SAP Scripting Tool and how much value it will bring to all scripting projects that plan to utilize SAP backend systems. We discussed Gregor Wolf's contest and he was so kind to inform us that his test system is also available inside the SAP corporate network, so all SAP employees now can participate too. Gregor works for Siteco Beleuchtungstechnik GmbH and the award they offer for the contest is a Siteco Vistosa task light. More information about the contest can be found at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4588. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] Another key discussion was held with Björn Schotte, the chief editor of PHP Magazine, Germany, presenting also his company Mayflower Gmbh. He shared some visions on business applications of PHP and stated that PHP is definitely enterprise ready.
Then after a very short pause we started the SDN breakout sessions (3-5 in parallel). I visited the sessions of Gregor Wolf, André Labahn, Björn Schotte and after this I cooperated for the breakout session of Frank Mittag.
Session 1:
Connecting Typo3 to R/3 Enterprise via Web Services with Gregor Wolf from Siteco Beleuchtungstechnik GmbH
Siteco Beleuchtungstechnik GmbH currently implements a customer service centre into it's Typo3 based website. Typo3 is an Open Source Web Content Management system based on the Scripting Language PHP. The application will allow Siteco's customers to directly check price & availability of products from the backend R/3 Enterprise system, quotations, orders and delivery status. The backend connectivity uses Web Services utilise the PEAR SOAP Package.
Session 2:
SAP supports Scripting Languages with Andre Labahn from SAP.
This session will provide you with more insights on how SAP is supporting scripting languages.
Session 3:
Scripting Languages PHP and Enterprise Software with Björn Schotte (Chief Editor from PHP Magazine).
This session showed us a brief history of PHP and PHP in Germany. Some enterprise applications of PHP were discussed. Björn Schotte was the opinion that PHP is definitely enterprise ready and he proved it with an example of a system that his company has created for Siemens.
Session 4:
Scripting Languages Tool with Frank Mittag and Vasil Bachvarov (me) from SAP
SAP will provide a open source tool to the scripting development community that is supporting the access to SAP Backend Systems via RFC/BAPIs and Webservices. See the concept and demo of the tool and discuss this with SAP Development.
There was a pretty interesting discussion about the tool. Since the time for the last session shrinked with some minutes we had to be very quick, but Frank Mittag did a great job and succeeded to explain the basic concept of the SAP Scripting Tool and show it in action for the tough time constraint.
There were a lot of questions from the audience but it was already 18:30 and we stopped at this point. There would be a second chance for questions on thursday when Frank had the opportunity to make a more complete and comprehensive walk-through of the project.
Then we gathered in the meeting hall and Shai Agassi held a speech and made a summary of the event.
The evening finished in the BoomChicago theater where everybody received a delicious meal, drinks and a great amount of fun with the ChicagoBoom comic crew.
I would like to thank all people that made this event come true! See you soon in Bangalore.
Best Regards,
Vasil Bachvarov
SAP AGI'm be there in Amsterdam as well. In fact I am leaving the US on Sunday and arriving early Monday morning in Amsterdam.
I was planning to do a little site seeing on Monday Afternoon. If anyone else is arriving a bit early as well, they are welcome to join me. It is always more fun to site see in groups. My email address is public in my SDN business card (also not too difficult to figure out ) if anyone is interested in meeting up. -
Adobe Photoshop Extended CS4 Trial on Macbook
Hi, my girlfriend tried to install the photoshop CS4 trial on her spanking new macbook. However, after downloading the trial and running the installer SUCCESSFULLY, she encounted a problem opening PS.
The icon didn't show up, and when clicked an error message popped up, saying something to the effect of...
"photoshop is not supported on this architecture."
Does anyone know what the problem is?? Her laptop is a BRAND NEW 2.13GHz macbook, Intel Core 2 Duo etc etc etc... So I dont understand the error. Considering it is the right architecture. Anyone else had this problem? Iv searched the forum and googled the issue but I cant find an answer.
Any response would be greatly appreciated
RickI recently encountered this exact problem installing Photoshop CS4 trial on an Oct. 2006 production vintage MacBook Black 13" with 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 core, 1.5GB ram, lots of hard drive space, running OS X 10.5.8.
After much waiting on the Adobe help line, I could not even get them to say it was supposed to work on the MacBook. At one point they suggested downgrading to 10.5.4 to be in line with the required specs. I said no will do that.
The installer apparently ran correctly but when trying to open Photoshop, it gave the 'architecture not supported' error which turns out to be bogus.
I did the same install on a MacBook Pro running 10.6.2 which was successful, and I saw that there was a lot more stuff installed in the Photoshop folder.
I finally upgraded the MacBook to 10.6.2 but the install would still not work, even after performing the Photoshop CS4 uninstall from Utilities/Adobe Installers first to get rid of previous attempts.
It seems that the installer is completely broken. If it detects any remnants from other installs, it seems to not even try to do the complete install, yet doesn't give any error messages. The broken install is only apparent when trying to run the app, and it gives a totally bogus error message.
I finally found the Adobe CS4 Clean Script which showed a previous trial install of
Creative Suite 4 Master Collection which also had not worked. Removing that with the Adobe CS4 Clean Script then for some reason seemed to allow the install of Photoshop CS4 trial to execute correctly. The script thankfully left the CS3 installation alone.
I don't know whether the upgrade to 10.6.2 was a required part of the solution or not, but after many, many hours of fighting with this, I can now say that Photoshop CS4 trial now works on the Oct. 2006 vintage MacBook.
And to Adobe I say, please fix your installer so that when I say install, it installs, and forget the trying to be so smart. At least give an option to force overwriting of previous remnants so you can be sure the install has installed everything up to date.
And please give some better error messages, particularly when it doesn't install required parts. -

Dear All Gurrus
i am facing an Abap Dump when user send cheque Printing .other document printing are Ok .please see this error
Runtime errors LOAD_PROGRAM_NOT_FOUND
Occurred on 04.06.2007 at 16:18:50
Program " " not found.
What happened?
There are several possible reasons for the error:
or
The current ABAP program had to be terminated because the
ABAP processor detected an internal system error.
The current ABAP program "SAPLF028" had to be terminated because the ABAP
processor discovered an invalid system state.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Error analysis
On account of a branch in the program
(CALL FUNCTION/DIALOG, external PERFORM, SUBMIT)
or a transaction call, another ABAP/4 program
is to be loaded, namely " ".
However, program " " does not exist in the library.
Possible reasons:
a) Wrong program name specified in an external PERFORM or
SUBMIT or, when defining a new transaction, a new
dialog module or a new function module.
b) Transport error
b) Transport error
How to correct the error
Check the last transports to the R/3 System.
Are changes currently being made to the program "SAPLF028"?
Has the correct program been entered in table TSTC for Transaction "FBZ4 "?
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"LOAD_PROGRAM_NOT_FOUND" C
"SAPLF028" or "LF028U06"
"PAYMENT_FORM_PRINT"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
following documents to SAP:
1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
part.
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

333Specification of form is missing in pmnt method C for comp.code KOPK
In the include program RFFORI01 the query "SELECT * FROM t042z WHERE land1 EQ t001-land1 AND zlsch IN sel_zawe AND progn EQ sy-repid" is returning a null value for progn. This null value is passed to "003100 SUBMIT (t042z-progn) WITH zw_laufd = reguh-laufd" (Refer to the short dump).
Refer to IMG for adding specification of form.

ABAP Runtime Error while executing planning folder
Hi experts.
We have a situation where I can access our planning folders but that's not the case for one of our user. She encountered with an ABAP Runtime Error as follow:
Appreciate if anyone can help me out with this.
Runtime Error RAISE_EXCEPTION
Date and Time 20.04.2007 16:50:23
ShrtText
Exception condition "X_MESSAGE" raised.
What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program encountered an unexpected
situation.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLRSSBR" raised the exception
condition "X_MESSAGE".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program
in the hierarchy, processing was terminated.
Short description of exception condition:
Cancel
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.
How to correct the error
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"RAISE_EXCEPTION" C
"SAPLRSSBR" or "LRSSBRU03"
"RSSB_AUTHORITY_IOBJVL_CHECK"
or
"SAPLRSSBR" "X_MESSAGE"
or
"UPB_PM_CUST_START " "X_MESSAGE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.
