Hi Jona,
Have you changed anything in the WSUS server recently?
According to the logs, it seems that there is something wrong with the IIS.
Please try to access
http://IP_address_of_the_WSUS:Port/SimpleAuthWebService/SimpleAuth.asmx on the WSUS server.
If access failed, please check if the SimpleAuthWebService works properly. Also, we can try to restart the IIS.
If issue persists, please check the default permission for NETWORK SERVICE.
Please make sure that NETWORK SERVICE has  FULL CONTROL permission on:
<%windir%>\Microsoft .NET\Framework\<version>\Temporary ASP.NET Files
<%windir%>\Microsoft .NET\Framework\<version>\CONFIG
<%windir%>\Temp
C:\WSUS\WSUSContent
C:\Program Files\Update Services\WebServices
Best Regards.

  • New WSUS install does not respond to clients over ports 8530 or 8531

I've recently installed WSUS on a Server 2012 machine, and am struggling to get it to respond to requests from other hosts. I cannot get it to respond to any host in any manner, except for requests from itself.
    My setup is as follows:
WSUS installed on a Server 2012 domain controller, DC01.
Other roles installed include AD CS, AD DS, DNS, IIS, and Print Services.
WSUS is using all default settings.
The firewall has inbound and outbound exceptions for ports 8530 and 8531
A bit of information about what's happening:
IIS will respond over port 80. I can open a Web browser from my workstation and connect to http://dc01/. If I attempt to connect to http://dc01:8530 (which I know should not work, but
should respond with a 403 error), it times out. Identical behavior is observed over port 8531 with https.
IIS will respond with a 403 if I make this same connection in a browser on DC01, it will work if I connect using either the loopback IP or hostname, but will time out if I attempt to make the connection using the server's local IP (IPv4).
If I try to connect from my workstation using the WSUS configuration snap-in, I get an error: The remote server could not be contacted. Please verify that IIS on the server is correctly configured and is running.
If I try to connect from DC01 using the WSUS configuration snap-in, it works correctly.
The above is true for both http (8530) and https (8531).
IIS logs show inbound connections from my workstation and show that IIS is responding with a 200. However, Wireshark running on DC01 shows three attempts by my workstation to open a connection -- three SYN packets, one initial attempt then two identical
retries -- over a period of about ten seconds, with no responses from DC01. If IIS is responding, the responses are getting lost sometime before they hit the NIC.
Bindings in IIS are correct, 8530 for http and 8531 for https.
Given that everything works fine when making a local connection, I think I can safely assume that WSUS itself is running properly, and the issue is related to IIS. Nonetheless, in the hopes of this simply being a failed install, I have uninstalled and reinstalled
both IIS and WSUS multiple times. (One thing to note, though I doubt it's related: WSUS consistently fails to set the path for the local update cache, failing the post-deployment configuration. I have to manually edit the UpdateServices-Services.xml file to
include the path for the local cache. Everything goes fine after I do that.)
I'm pretty stumped on this, and would happily accept any help. Thanks!

Fundamentally you have two issues here:
The first is the question of co-existence between WSUS and AD CS.
The second is whether this machine was a DC before, or after, you installed WSUS.
With Windows Server 2003 systems, running 'dcpromo' after installing IIS (and WSUS) would break IIS (and thus WSUS). With Windows Server 2012, installing WSUS with the AD DS role present results in a broken WSUS installation (if not an outright installation
failure). This is because on a WS2012 Domain Controller, there are GPO restrictions on "Log On As A Service" which impact the ability of certain LOCAL accounts to do so ... one of which being the Network Service which is required for WSUS and another local
use account, which is used for WID.
Regarding ports and IIS -- WSUS is designed to work on port 8530 by default on a Windows Server 2012 box. It can also be made to work on port 80, but you have to use the correct utilities and procedures to make that change. As for your observation
that "port 6000" seems to be a cutoff.... I'll (re)direct your attention to the installation of Active Directory Certificate Services, which I suspect is a contributing factor, and in general firewall configuration rules -- which are probably the most likely
culprit on the port range of 6000+ (not including 8530 which I promise you is open by a rule explicitly created by/for WSUS).
    So, here's my suggestion:
    Install the WSUS role first.
Install the AD DS role if you must (but Domain Controllers should not also be web or application server).
Install the AD CS role elsewhere.

  • Drag and Drop - Application not responding

    Hello,
I have a problem regarding Drag and Drop in Mavericks (but probably all versions):
This is especially concerning Drag and Drop from Mail or Microsoft Outlook to another application (in this case a Java Application).
I know that it's only possible to drag mails to the desktop, where they are saved as an eml file.
My idea was to use the Drag and Drop mechanism as a trigger for calling an Apple Script (out of my Java Application) which saves the selected mail(s) as eml, for my application later picking them up in an defined folder. Basically this works just fine BUT Mail as well as Outlook does not respond to the tell statement of my Apple Script until the dragged mail snaps back to the source application after about 20 seconds. While the Apple Script waits for the mail application to respond, both applications (mail application as well as my own application) show "Application not responding" in dock.
Does anybody have an idea how I can get the mail applications get to respond earlier? Probably a second instance, killing of the drag/drop event or anything else?
    Regards
    Benjamin

  • WSUS Downstream server not synchronizing - SQL Timeout

I'm running into problems synching a downstream WSUS server with the parent server. The first few times that the server synch'd it ran fine, then it just stopped working. The Windows Firewall is disabled and there is no proxy. I've checked all the permissions
for IIS and all required services are running. I've also tried an IISRESET, uninstall WSUS, re-installed, ran wsusutil.exe reset and checkhealth, rebooted many times. Ran the DB Cleanup Wizard on both servers. Any help woul be appreciated.

  • Camera not responding

I'm having FREQUENT issues with my camera not responding or freezing up when I try to use it.
I have also noticed my phone turning itself off or spontaneously restarting.
Anyone know a "fix" for either issue?
This is a replacement phone because my brand new Droid Maxx had the same camera issue about 2 months after I bought it.
I've restarted, reset, cleared cache, and uninstalled updates, yet nothing seems to help. With my first Maxx, I tried all the same things at the advise of online support, when they didn't work, I was issued a replacement.
I guess my dilemma is, Is there now a "fix? should I get a replacement? or should I Edge Up and try a different phone?

We want to see you snapping away with your camera, lucychik! Did this start as soon as you received the replacement? Have you installed the same applications on this device as the last? Does this happen in apps that use camera or just native Camera program? When restart occurs are you using a certain app or process? I am eager to get to the bottom of this!

  • Connection Status: not Responding SCVMM '08

I just installed SCVMM 2008 on a Windows 2008 x64 server with Hyper-V RC0 Enabled. From the console on the server it says "Needs Attention" and when I double click on it, it says
    Connection Status: Not Responding
    Agent Version: Up to Date
    Virtualization Status: Unknown
    Virtualization Service Version: Up-to-Date
The firewall is turned on for public network only, and I can connect to manage that box with the hyper-v mmc snap-in for Vista. Why is SCVMM not connecting to it? I rebooted the server after install and still can't get it to work correctly. It sees my VMs on the server but I can't connect to them either.
    Thanks,
    Chris

I'm having very similar erros, I have read all posted blogs in this thread and followed all instructions with no luck.
    This is what Im getting;
    Error (2912)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the virtualqa1.PFDOMAIN.prairiefyre.com server.
    (Unknown error (0xc0000bbf))
    Recommended Action
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service is installed and running, then restart the agent.
    Connection Status: Not Responding
    Agent Status: Responding
    Agent Version: Up-to-Date
    Virtualization service status: Running
    Virtualization service version: Up-to-Date
    I have already applied KB956589 and KB956774.
I did have a USB External Drive connected to the Host, which I have disconnected and have rebooted the host afterwards.
I have installed SCVMM 2008 RTM Server on my Host machine, which is the Hyper-V server.
I have also setup the SCVMM tracing according to the post in this thread. Here is what I see:

  • BizTalk Admin Console not responding when loading configuration

    Hi All,
I have a BizTalk 2013 R2 test environment which has separate BizTalk and SQL servers.
Due to something went wrong with the BizTalk server so I built another BizTalk
server and joined the same BizTalk group and I also moved the master secret
server to the new BizTalk server. I removed the old BizTalk server from the
group and shut the old server down.
But when I am using the new server to load the configuration for any receive or send ports,
the MMC gave me the "this snap-in is not responding" alert and if I canceled the alerts a couple of times, the configuration info can be loaded.
The admin console is fast when not loading configuration though.
Does anybody have any ideas what could be wrong?
    Thanks,
    David
    David

This issue could be because of many reasons. Work on the below pointers.
    1) I would suggest you to start with performing BizTalk Repair to avoid any registry issues, because in most of the cases Admin console related issues are solved by BizTalk repair only.
    2) Check if SQL Server and MSDTC service is running properly.
As a Last option collect DebugDiag logs and try to analyze the same.

  • Wsus snap-in showing duplicated server entries

Hi!  We have a single Wsus Server on premises in our Company.
Recently i've come across the problem of WSUS not synchronizing properly. Following the suggestions in this thread, all is working as expected again.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverwsus/thread/79f76bdf-83cc-47d1-8244-5d544fe7d21
Sadly the Wsus Snap in ins showing me 2 identical entries for the same Wsus server (all settings, updates lists etc)
did i miss something? I've already deleted the redundant entries in the Console and i checked the SSL bindings on the IIS.(all seems like before)
But when i open the Console again, it still presents me with :
    Update Services
    + fqdn(.local)
    + fqdn(.local)
    thx in advance

I'm having this problem again.  The fix you proposed worked yesterday but sadly the duplicates have returned.  My WSUS server is showing multiple times.  Doesn't seem to effect the system, luckily.
The WSUS console is capable of supporting multiple connections to different WSUS servers, so my first inclination is that the console is somehow confused and think it's talking to different systems.
From your post a couple of days ago, it's my understanding that this is a new WSUS installation on Windows Server 2012.
Is this issue happening on the remote console from your desktop (and I understand, also, that your desktop is cross-domain from the WSUS server)? If so, have you established a bi-directional domain trust between the domain of your console and the domain
    of your WSUS server?
Second, is there any possibility that the WSUS server is either getting variable IP Addresses (as in a DHCP Client), or variable MAC Addresses (as might occur when using VMotion or LiveMigration)?

  • My music screen has frozen and will not respond to my touch

my 32g iPod touch will not respond to my touch while i am in my music library.  i can navigate through my iPod and access my apps, calendar, etc., but as soon as i try to get into my music and browse through it, nothing.  it has done this before, but it usually "snaps out of it", and eventually begins to work properly.  i purchased this iPod brand new in march 2012, so in my opinion it should not be acting up.  anyone have any idea as to what is going on with it?

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod

I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.

  • PCI DIO 32HS (6533) Suddenly giving "The device is not responding to the first IRQ level" error, and no longer functioning.

    Greetings NI folks,
I'm an oceanographer, and have an sidescan sonar data aquasition computer running Windows XP SP2, and NiDAQ 7.0 (Legacy). For several years, this machine has worked flawlessly, but today, I booted it up to test the system for an upcoming job, and I got some strange errors in our sonar program. I tranced the problem to our NI-6533 PCI-DIO-32HS card. I launched NI Automation Explorer to test that the card was responsive, and when I click the "test panel", I get an error: "The device is not responding to the first IRQ level." Continue (yes/no). If I click yes, I can test the digital i/o's, but nothing happens, and all the tests fail (nonresponsive). I tried moving the card to another PCI slot, tried forcing it to have a specific IRQ that was unused by anything else, and finally tried moving it to another computer that had never been used with the DIO card. I'm still getting the error, and the card is nonresponsive. I'm at the limit of my abilities, and would like to know if there's anything else I can do, or should we send the card back to NI for repair/diagnosis.
    Thanks.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. I hope that the reinstall fixes it without losing everything. Please advise!!! Yes, I am in panic mode.
