Wtgcreator.exe not a valid OSD image

SCCM 2012 R2
I have ha package for WTG that uses wtgcreator.exe (wtgcreator.exe /wim:WTG002.wim) It will not work after I created a new image with MDT 2013 and install all windows updates, old images still work.
I don’t know if wtgcreator doesent work with OS version 6.3.9600.17415? New images have OS version 6.3.9600.17415 and the old image have 6.3.9600.17056
If I copy the wim and wtgcreator to my local computer and start wtgcreator and point to the wim I get “The image you’ve chosen is not a valid Operating System Deployment (OSD) image. If I start pwcreator.exe and point to the same image I don’t get any problem,
only with wtgcreator. I take wtgcreator from the SCCM server, fileversion 5.0.7958.100 2013-09-11.
I can deploy the same image with a task sequence in SCCM but not with wtgcreator.

Hi,
The WTGCreator needs a .WIM file which is created as a Prestage Media in the SCCM Admin Console, have you done that? I use a Windows 8.1 image created with MDT 2013 which I have included in my Prestage media and it works great.
If you try to use the MDT image straight off you will get an error message like the one you are seeing.
Could that be the case?

Jörgen

  • I have uninstalled and re-downloaded firefox 3 times now and each time I get and error message saying that firefox is not a valid windows image? I download it from your website but to no availe

This is the error message I get when I try and open Firefox:
''The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\WSOCK32.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.''

wsock32.dll is a Windows System file which is used to connect to the internet. if you are seeing this error message then its probably because either your Antivirus program might have moved this file to the Virus Chest or this file was Deleted mistakenly. Try Restoring this file from your Anti Virus software or check if it is still available in the Recycle Bin folder.
If above suggestions don't work, see this:
''This error is a tough one as it severely limits the programs or apps that you can run in Windows. This error pops up every time you try to open a program in windows, well not every program but most. Most spyware programs can’t be ran because this error pops up and prevents it.''
''One would think that the solution would be to repair the invalid .dll, but what ended up fixing it for me was extracting a fresh copy of explorer.exe. It looks like explorer.exe had gotten corrupt for some reason and was causing the bad image errors with certain .dll s.''
''To repair the problem open up '''msconfig''', it is actually one of the few programs in windows that would still open. To open it click on Start -> Run ->Type in '''msconfig''' and hit Enter. Once it is open click on the button that says “Expand File”. From there you will select the file that needs replaced and the location of the good file. Most of the time the good file can be found in the i386 folder of your XP install cd. My msconfig didn’t like the directory “C:\Windows\System32\ that was already filled in, so browse to the Windows\system32 directory and it should work just fine.''
''Expand the file, it will look like nothing happened, that is normal. Reboot the computer and you should not get the errors anymore.''
''To be safe, I expanded the Wsock32.dll file as well, so if for some reason your error still persists try expanding the dll file too.''

This problem can be caused by malware.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

  • I am getting the following reading when I click on Firefox: "The application or DLLc:/programfiles/mozillafirefox/xul.dll is not a valid windows image

I am getting the following pop up reading when I click on the Mozilla Firefox icon located on my desktop: "The application or DLL c:/program files/mozillafirefox/xul.dll is not a valid windows image" I have always used mozilla and now I have no connection to the internet with it. I have tried to go to Mozilla.com to download again and I can't seem to locate a version to download.

michaeleen, you can fix this with a clean install of Firefox:
    1. Download the Firefox installer from [http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.6.7&os=win&lang=en-US this direct link] and save it to your desktop or other location.
    2. Make sure that Firefox is closed completely
    3. Delete the Firefox installation directory (On Windows, this is typically the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder that contains "firefox.exe" and other Firefox program files and folders).
    4. Reinstall Firefox by running the installer you downloaded previously.
Your personal settings, including bookmarks and history, will not be lost.

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

I cannot get my Itunes updated to the 10. that is required for my new Iphone. The error is itunes setup exe not a valid Win32 application.

  • Msvcr70.dll is not a valid windows image

msvcr70.dll is not a valid Windows image:
This is the pop-up from Windows while installing Photoshop Elements 6.0 on XP
The msvcr70.dll is placed in the .Net Framework folder v1.0.3705
When installing .Net Framework Security Updates they would not install because of this invalid dll
After removing the dll from this folder the updates did install
My question is does Photoshop Elements require this dll to work properly?

Reinstall your standard Windows PostScript printer driver. The issue is utterly unrelated to Photoshop itself. Go in your control panel and run Add or Remove Programs, with the Windows Components options (Advanced mode). have your Windows install disks handy.

  • Ps5ui.dll is not a valid windows image.

    Environment:  XP PRO SP3,  ADOBE CS3 v10.0.1
Photoshop was running well until I  ran "chkdsk /f" which corrected several errors on my HD that were being reported.  Everything runs well but opening a file in Photoshop returns the following error messeage popup:
the application or dll c:windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32X86\3\Ps5ui.dll is not a valid windows image.  Please check this against your installation diskette.
The error message appears a total of 3 times (clicking OK each time) and then the image will open normally.  Once the image is open Photoshop seems to have all its functionality.
I'm hoping for a quick fix rather than a reinstall which would requre me to find the installation disk (LoL)
    Any thoughts?

  • DLL not a valid Windows Image

I've got a VI ramping a voltage supply, and taking data from an oscilliscope. The actual communication between with the devices takes place via DLL library function calls.
When I load the VI, the relevant sub-VIs try to load the libraries. LV can't find the libraries, and pulls up a dialog box for me to find them. When I select the library that the VI needs, it returns something like: "tktds7k_32.dll File not found. Please verify the correct file name was given." The directory that appears to have the libraries I'm looking for contains several .mnu files. When I try to choose one of those, I get something like: "The application or DLL [...]\tktds7k_32.mnu is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
I've run this VI on three different machines. It works just fine on two of them; it gives me the error described above on the third. All three machines are running Windows XP. My best guess at this point is that the problem is with the OS. My interpretation of the error message is that XP can't read .mnu files. Does it even make sense that this would be the case? I don't know enough about XP to know if this in fact is the problem, or how to go about fixing it if it is.
If this is not the problem, is there anything else it could be?

    Hi Colin,
What driver are you using to communicate with the oscilloscope? Is it an IVI-driver, and did you download it from our instrument driver website? If yes, reinstall the driver and see if that helps. If not, refer to this link for an alternative solution.
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunesSetup.exe not a valid WIN32 Application????

I've been deployed to Afghanistan for the past 13 months and have another 4 to go. I'm trying to download Itunes 7.0.2 and when I go to install it I get an error that reads ITunesSetup.exe is not a valid WIN32 application. What the **** does this mean. I only have a couple of days to get this fixed and my Ipod crashed with that RavMon virus lastnight. Anyone please help

I had the very same problem with installing, and have no idea what it means. I've searched all over support, and asked the very same question about 4 months back.
One odd thing about it, though. It didn't seem to make a difference when installing. The installer would get partially finished, and the error would appear. The installer would then start "rolling back actions" and when you would think it would close, it would start back up again. I have no idea why, but the installation completed normally, and my itunes works fine.
If it doesn't work the first time, try it a couple more times. That's what happened with me.

  • IPodSetup.exe "Not a Valid Win32 Application"

We have a PC running Windows XP SP2, and when I download the iPod Updater we receive an error when we try to run the executable:
    iPodSetup.exe is Not a Valid Win32 Application.
My windows is up to date, and I've cleaned out my temporary files. Has anyone else has this happen?

    Hurrah! just downloaded it!
I ran a search on pc of all files for "ipod" and deleted all of the previous downloads of the latest updater we have been trying to use, including the ones i had sent to the recycle bin and then downloaded again, it did the proper download thing again (progress bar). selected run instead of save and Hey Presto it worked.
    Good luck

  • LR4 LS11.exe not a valid Win32 app

I downloaded the file Lightroom_4_LS11.exe.  When I start the file I get the error message "Lightroom_4_LS11.exe is not a valid Win32 application".  I have downloaded severa times, turned off virus protection SW, and rebooted.  Nothing seems to make a difference.  How do I get this file to run?

    Windows 7.
I downloaded the file a few more times and it finally ran without the error.  I have no idea why it took so many attempts.
