Wvc200 and vista 64bit

My Vista 64 cannot cope with the activex of wvc200, so I cannot see the image through IE. Is there a way around this problem? Is Linksys going to do something about it?
Thanks,
Joop

Thanks, bigdaddyt,
The problem is not that the ActiveX won't run, but the ActiveX just does not seem to work with Vista 64. So, the arrow keys won't display and the image isn't there. I guess that Vista64 somehow does not interpret the AciveX code correctly. I recall having seen a message somewhere that states the same.
So I would like to know of either Cisco or someone else have found a workaround for this problem.

  • Audible, iTunes and Vista 64bit

Hi everyone, I'm moving to a new computer tomorrow that has Vista 64bit on it. I know that iTunes is now compatible, but I have a lot of audiobooks from Audible and to listen to them I know I'll have to authorise my new computer. I've had a look through the help pages on audible's site and it says that there is a problem with iTunes that stops you from authorising your computer on a 64 bit vista machine: http://audible-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/aid/3666/kw/vista%2064/rid/166
The thing is, some of the info on audible's website can be quite old so I'm not sure if this problem has been addressed yet or not. Has anyone managed to authorise a 64bit vista system for audible content? If not, can anyone think of any work arounds? (other than keeping the old computer around until the problem is fixed!)
    Cheers
    Nicola

I had Vista 64 and now Windows 7 64 and no issues--and there is a 64 bit version of iTunes too. All works well.

That may be correct, but my old Mustek 1200UB scanner is currently working flawlessly in Windows 7 using Windows XP drivers. There were never any drivers made for Vista for it.
I got one of those scanners too!

  • PSE7 and Vista 64bit compatibility

Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to whether PSE7 will run on Vista 64bit?

    Mo,
Here's some more information on PSE and Vista 64:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_PSE_and_Vista
One thing not yet listed in the FAQ: The PSE 7 downloader won't launch on Vista 64 -- you have to run it manually via File > Get Photos And Videos.

  • Cs3 and vista 64bit

I have just taken delivery of a 64bit version of Vista home premium and have tried to install CS3 design Premium it runs through the checks and then stalls at the install.. any help would be apreciated.
    thanks

Vexal, I completely sympathize. I've never had much trouble with Adobe software - other than having a forced upgrade to CS3 to get Vista compatibility, grrrr - but I've had such experiences with other, highly reputable makers.
I once spent three days trying to install a version of QuickBooks. When I called for help, it turned out to be outside the free help (for some reason)... and as soon as I forked over the $45 session fee, the guy INSTANTLY told me that my IE5 installation - that's right, the browser, not any part of QB - had a buggy file that needed to be patched before QB would install. I've burned over that $45 ever since.
One of the things you aren't clear about is whether the Vista 64 is the system's original OS or an upgrade - the "just taken possession of" implies you installed it as an upgrade. This was Vista's biggest failing and the source of 99% of its bad rep - it simply did not upgrade systems well. I suggest, if you want to cure this problem and avoid a host of others down the road, that you do a clean install of Vista 64 on the system. I know, it's a hassle, but it's necessary if you want stable system to work with. (Hint: throw a new hard drive in it and install Vista to that. Then you have the old drive to pillage for data and setup files until you're back to square one.)

  • Itunes 8.2 and Vista 64bit

    Hello everyone,
I searched the forums and didn't see a definitive answer for the problem I am experiencing. Last Saturday I deciding to upgrade my Ipod Touch 1st Gen to 3.0. So I installed upgraded to itunes to 8.2 (64 bit installer) and lo and behold my ipod would not show up in itunes anymore. My PC still recognized my ipod as I could see it in My Computer. So I downgraded to 8.1, fired up itunes and it was back. I upgraded to 3.0 from there (it let me upgrade for some reason). After the upgrade I knew I was going to have to have itunes 8.2 to use my ipod. So just to check I fired up itunes 8.1 and got a message telling me that I had to have a newer version of itunes. So I upgraded once again to 8.2 and once again no ipod. PC still sees the ipod though. So now I am stuck, I tried to upgrade the apple mobile device drivers but am told by windows that I have the latest version. Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? I was able to sync my ipod to itunes 8.2 running on 32bit XP so at least I got my music back.

[UPDATE] Finally got it working. I was looking around in Device Manager and found the Apple Mobile Device USB driver. Uninstalled it. Once I did that even Share Pod stopped working. Uninstalled 8.2 and reinstalled 8.0.2, rebooted and noticed that the Apple Mobile Device USB driver did not come back. So I figured that was the culprit. Looked around in Programs and Features and found Apple Mobile Device Support, uninstalled it as well as 8.0.2 and rebooted. Once back into windows I unplugged my Ipod deleted my iTunes folder in my music folder and reinstalled 8.2. The Apple Mobile Device driver was back. So thinking I had fixed the problem I plugged my iPod back in and started iTunes. Nothing. So I unplugged my ipod and went into services (Start -> Services.msc) and stopped the Apple Mobile Device Service as well as the iPod Service. Unplugged my iPod, started iTunes plugged my iPod in and got a message from iTunes saying that my iPod couldn't be used because the Apple Mobile Device Service was not started. Aha! I was getting somewhere now. Itunes was definitely seeing the iPod but just didn't want to connect to it. So once again I shut down iTunes, unplugged my iPod, started the Apple Mobile Device and left the iPod service shut off, Fired up iTunes plugged in my iPod and still nothing. So the last thing I did was to go back into services (leaving iTunes running this time) and restarted the Apple Mobile Device service (right click, restart) and Viola! it showed up. I hope this helps some of you experiencing the same issues I have. Good Luck!

  • Not able to install live update with vista 64bit

    I got a MSI P45 NEO-F board with Intel 2 duo E8400 processor, and VISTA 64bit.
I'm not able to make the live update work, the CD-ROM following the card does support vista, but not the 64bit version. After having tried updating everything else to make my computer stop crashing when playing Age of Conan, I would like to see if an update of the bios will help. I would rather use the MSI updater than do it my self, as I don't want to take the extra risk.
I've checked core temperature, RAM temperature, memory leak seems not to be the issue either, and I got the last driver for my videocard (v8.9 for Radeon HD 4870 512MB). At any given time the sound loops, picture may freeze and pixel or just go to brown stripes, and I then need to force a reboot. Some times the system has BSODed by itself as well.
Current BIOS is v1.1, I think there is a v1.5 now.
Is there a live update supporting vista64? Or a receipt for dummies how to do it manually? The AMI BIOS Flash procedure following one of the BIOS-versions that I *think* I can use doesn't include an explanation for vista.

  • ITunes 1.6 and Windows Vista 64bit Help

I have not been able to use iTunes properly since I got a new computer with Vista 64bit. I can play music, browse iTunes Store and watch Video, but the problem comes when I try to attach my iPod Touch or try burning a CD. With the last version, it seemed that 64bit windows Vista was not supported so I just decided to wait for an upgrade. I download iTunes 1.6 from Apple.com and try to install and it says I need the 64bit iTunes Installer. Did I miss the download for it?
This is the error message I get...
This iTunes Installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows. It is Highly recommended that you download and install the 64-bit iTunes Installer instead.
All I need is a Link to the 64-bit Installer because I cant find it.

What's supposed to happen is that when you go to the download page, http://www.apple.com/itunes/download, it's supposed to recognize that you're running 64 bit Vista and then you get the 64 bit iTunes installer. But I've seen reports that FireFox users are only getting the 32 bit installer page.
Can you try that link with IE? And do you get a different installer then?

  • Vista 64bit t and itunes 7.5

I just installed Itunes 7.5 on my windows vista 64bit machine. The software loaded fine but the cd burning function doesn't work. Anyone have a solution to this problem? I know that Itunes 7.5 is not a vista 64 bit piece of software. Notwithstanding this fact, it is working fine except for the cd burning function.

  • Windows Vista 64bit OS, NVIDIA and other questions.

I have a few questions I hope someone can answer.
Can I run 64bit Vista in Bootcamp?
If I wipe my harddisk and install 64bit vista and have a Windows only machine would that allow me to use different NVIDIA grpahics cards such as 9600GT?
I would imagine that the limitation of graphics cards are only due to driver compatability with MAC and qualification process?
If I wish to expand storage are there any sub 1TB drives that can use a 32MB cache? It seems only the 1TB/32MB cache is qualified with MAC. Is this another limitation that I could get round by running Vista 64bit.
I am not trying to start a flame war. I am only looking for sensible answers.
    Thank you.

Can I run 64bit Vista in Bootcamp?
Yes. Both the computer and OS X are fully 64-bit compliant.
You can install a second video card that does not work with OS X but does work with Windows. Third-party video cards do not work with OS X because they do not have the EFI boot ROM required by OS X. They will, however, work when you boot into Windows. You do not need to convert the Mac Pro to a Windows-only machine which would seem a waste of perfectly good hardware and software.
You can install any SATA hard drive in the Mac Pro. There is no limitation with regard to size. Cache, however, is a feature of the drive and not the computer. Apple does not "qualify" drives for use with the computer.

  • Windows Vista 64bit and Zen, Video Convertsion

We just updated out computer to one with Windows Vista 64bit.
Everything was fine until we tried to convert a .mov file to place it on the Zen. First it said we needed Quicktime ver 7 (which apparently the original video was created with). Tried to install that, to no avail. Turns out Quicktime 7 is not supported under Vista 64bit, according to Apple.
I then found on another message board of people having trouble running iTunes on Vista 64. Use the following link:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can then select the 64bit version of iTunes.
After the install the video conversion worked perfectly.
    Hope this helps others.
    Thanks

  • Vista 64bit and iTunes 8.2.0.23 - interface problems

I've had these strange iTunes interface issues ever since I moved to Vista 64bit a while ago.
I can't adjust the volume using the volume slider at the top of the iTunes window (to the right of the Play buttons) The volume slider won't respond to my mouse.
I can't scroll the library window using the scroll bar on the right side of the iTunes window. I have to either scroll with my mouse wheel or click the arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar.
I also can't resize the library columns. They are either very narrow, or if I double click the column edge they will auto resize, then I am stuck with them set at the widest item in the list.
I recently uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Devices and the Apple Updater. I then searched my Hard Drive and Registry for anything left over from Apple or iTunes and deleted it.
I then downloaded and installed the latest iTunes, hoping that these issues would be resolved, but I am still having the same issues with the latest version.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
I just realized I have another issue. I can't import my playlists from Windows Media Player either. I've added my Music folder to the iTunes playlist (the same one that Windows Media Player users) and went to File -> Library -> Import Play list -> chose my WMP playlist (a .wpl file) -> clicked Open and nothing happens.
    Message was edited by: Apr2009

Ok, so I saved my Windows Media Player playlist as M3U files and imported them into iTunes. Wow! What a complete mess that made of my library.
All songs that were on the playlists (hundreds of songs) were duplicated in my iTunes library. iTunes would show two entries for each song. When I right clicked and choose 'Show in Windows Explorer' both entries point to the same song, it just shows up twice in iTunes.
I cleared my iTunes library file and am starting over. I'm thinking about just going back to Windows Media Player. I've been listening to music off my Blackberry and it's really been fine. Just seemed a shame that my iPod was sitting in a drawer because of all the issues I'm having with iTunes and Vista.
The original problem I had months ago was that iTunes crashed on Vista and lost all my Playlists. I was so upset I put all my music on my SD card on my Blackberry, because Windows Media Player makes it so easy to back up your playlists. They are saved as files and can be included in any automatic backups (I have scheduled backups to another hard drive)
I thought with this new version of iTunes I could at least export the playlists to files so they can be backed up, I just don't know if I can face re-creating the playlists in iTunes.

  • Vista 64bit and PS CS4 - Poor Performance

I have been having a terrible time with CS4 and my 64bit system.  I mostly work with files in the 1-2MB range, not large by any means. I will process 2 or 3 photos, and close them.. no problem.  But every 3rd or 4th photo, when I open the file, or try to resize/crop it,  I get the dreaded "not responding" message and end up waiting 30 seconds to a minutes for PS to come back alive.  Obviously this is extremely disruptive to my workflow.
I have gone so far as to wipe my system clean, but still experience the same problem.  It is a fairly consistent issue that always happens when I process multiple photos.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems? Is there some obvious solution I am missing?
    My specs are as follows..
    Intel iCore 7 2.66 Mhz
    9GB DDR3
    ATI Radeon 4850 512MB
    Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
PS CS4 Extended (with 11.1 update)
    Thanks,
    Brian

What Memory % do you have allocated in Edit > Preferences > Performance?
Which is your primary scratch drive?
You could try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.
