WVC210 and SWVMS16 - Camera Times Out

I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I'm trying to configure a WVC210 IP camera to be monitored using the SWVMS16 monitoring software, running on a desktop pc with Windows XP Pro SP3.
I can set everything up perfectly - see the video stream, record the video, work with motion detection - but after 20 minutes (almost exactly 20 minutes consistently) the video freezes and everything stops. If I restart the SWVMS16 then it all starts up again and works perfectly for anothetr 20 minutes.
I've checked the video output - I can monitor the WVC210 through the web browser interface for hours. I've even had earlier monitoring sofware (Internet Camera Utility 2.1.1 200809) working for hours. So the network connections between camera and PC are all working. But still I cannot monitor with the SWVMS16 for more then 20 minutes.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks for looking

OK, Thank you for getting these answers back to us.
Are you running the most recent download from CCO "Video_Monitoring_System_1.0.0.zip"?  I "attached" one of the last unofficial builds I have been using for months now monitoring everything (except WVC210) that maybe you can try?  Just run it as the installer (double click)
Clarification.... is it just WVC210 that freezes or all of them?  This is why I wrote the next paragraph (if it is just the WVC210).
Also, can you have success if you connect SWVMS locally on the Camera LAN?  This would eliminate the SW and let us focus on the WAN or interconnect setup
Looking at your network topology, it looks like the PVC2300 cameras connect to the switch and then connect to the RV082.   How do you have the WRVS4400N connected?   Are you connecting it to the RV082 to extend the LAN wireless (connecting LAN port of WRVS4400N to LAN port of RV082 with DHCP disabled on WRVS4400N so it gets its leased IP from RV082?)?  This is what I would do, since your not using the WAN on the WRVS4400N to connect to the internet and you want to access the LAN of the camera site over the VPN which only connects on the LAN leases of the RV082.
In fact, I would even suggest static IPs on those cameras so the destination is reliable for the utility (always the same).
Something else to try to rule out tunnel behavior, is put a port forward rule (say port 1024) on the RV082 that forwards to the static IP of the camera and set the alternate HTTP port of the camera to 1024.  Then you should be able to access the camera using the alternate port, without the tunnel.  This may not be the way you desire to operate ultimately, but it will rule out a few things and help you debug this.
I show you how to set up the port forward rule here:

  • My Foscam IP Camera "times out" after one day - the IP address changes

    Hey All,
I'm trying to set up my Foscam 8918 camera.  I'm not so much concerened about being able to view it remotely as i can't even get the local (home) setup to work successfully for more than a day.
As far as I undertand it my IP address is dynamic and changes every day and I have to manually go into the foscam app and change the Local Camera Address 10.0.1.XX
Is there a way I can give the camera a static IP address?  I've tried the port forwarding as instructed on this forum and I can't get it to connect.
Everything works until the IP address changes and then the camera times out.
    Thanks for any insight.
I'm using the brand new apple router (the tower)
I'm using FoscamPro app on iphone 4S and ipad 2

In case you do want to be able to access your Foscam IP camera from the Internet. Note: I don't have this exact camera model, but the following worked for mine.
    Camera Setup Part 1
Plug the camera into your router with your ethernet cable
Log onto the camera using the IP address given by the IP camera tool (IPCT) using the default login given on the bottom of the camera.
Choose Device Management, and then, Wireless LAN Settings.
Find your wireless network and input the login info.
    The camera should now reset
802.11n AirPort Extreme (AEBSn) Setup (Note: I am assuming that you will be using version 6.x of the AirPort Utility from the iPad.)
Start the AirPort Utility > Select the (AEBSn) > Edit > Advanced > DHCP and NAT
Verify that the Router Mode = DHCP and NAT
From the DHCP and NAT window > Reservations > New Reservation...
Enter anything you like for the Description field.
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
MAC Address: Enter the wireless MAC address of the IP camera
IPv4 Address: Enter the desired IP address you want reserved as a "Static IP" address for the camera. This address must be within the DHCP range of your AirPort. By default, this range is: 10.0.1.2 - 10.0.1.200.
    Click Done
Go to the Advanced window > Port Settings > New Entry...
    Entry Type: IPv4
Description: Leave blank or enter a desired description.
    Public UDP Port(s): 8888
    Public TCP Port(s): 8888
Private IP Address: Enter the Static IP address you created above.
    Private UDP Port(s): 8888
    Private TCP Port(s): 8888
    Click Done
    Allow the AEBSn to reset.
    Camera Setup Part 2
Use the IPCT utility to obtain the network configuration settings.
Right (or Option)-click the IP address given in IPCT and choose Network Configuration.
Note these values. You may want to write them down.
Log onto the camera via a web browser, like Safari.
Go to Device Management > Basic Network Settings
    Uncheck the box.
    Input the settings from IPCT.
Verify that the port numbers used are the same as what you entered in the AirPort Utility's Port Mapping option.
    Allow the camera to reset.
    Optional, but recommended
Setup a Dynamic DNS account. This would take care of the issue of having a Dynamic WAN IP address that your ISP provides you. I would recommend DynDNS.
    Go to  https://www.dyndns.com/account/services/hosts/add.html
You will want to just set up a basic account.ollow the directions for setting up a basic account.
Once the account is set up, you will want to choose a web address to map directly to your camera. The Dynamic DNS service will assign a web address that will link to your Dynamic WAN IP address. The web address will stay the same even if the IP address changes.
When accessing the camera from a remote location, just tag on the port number to the web address. As as example, if the web address DynDNS assigns you is: www.myaddress.com, you would enter: www.myaddress.com:8888 into the web browser's address bar to access your camera.
Your camera should now be ready for both wireless access on your local network and from the Internet.

I am running a trial version of Elements 13 on the latest IMac 27 inch.  Any move of the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter if the mouse is trying to do an edit or just moving across the window.  The program does not respond very well at all.  I am wondering now if I should bother purchasing the program.

How much ram do you have? Did you recently import a bunch of photos into the organizer? PSE will be slow till it's through cataloguing them, which can take some time for large number of images.

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?
Here's a description of the update. Not a lot of changes for iPad 1/2.

hi all everytime i try to downlod itunes it reaches maybe 97% and then it times out i am not sure what seems to be the problem because my internet connection is fine.. any ideas???

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the iTunes forum appropriate for your system (Mac or Windows).

  • I live in Thailand, for the past two weeks when I try to search any topic I get the message "conecting to w3.mict.go.th" and then it times out; this occurs whenever I try to search anything; weird.

I think since I downloaded the latest version of Firefox the problem started; about 2 weeks ago, and I cannot make any search because I am redirected to " w3.mict.go.th" which then times out. So I have been using IE to search, and firefox seems to work fine other than the search function.

  • BPC: SOA and setting connection time outs in BPC

    Hi All,
can any one explain SOA architecture of BCP and how it improves performance?
My understanding of SOA arcitecture is it breaks down large application into small modules called services.
Here what are the services it is refering to?
And in SOA arcitecture, is the client connected to server only when it requests for a service and connection terminates after the service is provided?
If that is the case, what is the need for setting connection time outs to improve BPC performance.
    Any Help is Greatly appreciated.
    kranthi kumar

    SOA = services oriented architecture
is a method for systems development and integration where functionality is grouped around business processes and packaged as interoperable services. SOA also describes IT infrastructure which allows different applications to exchange data with one another as they participate in business processes. The aim is a loose coupling of services with operating systems, programming languages and other technologies which underlie applications.[1] SOA separates functions into distinct units, or services[2], which are made accessible over a network in order that they can be combined and reused in the production of business applications.[3] These services communicate with each other by passing data from one service to another, or by coordinating an activity between two or more services. SOA concepts are often seen as built upon, and evolving from older concepts of distributed computing[3][2] and modular programming.
So SOA is not implemented for performances reason and it is more for integration.

  • Diagnosctic and Recovery Task Time Out

    Hello,
I'am creating a recovery task witch wil do a shutdown of my envirement when the temperature in the datacenter is above 30 degrees Celcius. When I did a test a run found out that the timeout option in the Recovery task pane isn't working.

When I generate the a alert and the Recovery task is started the scripts times out after 5 minuters. When I run the same scripts whitout System Center Operations Manager then everything works.

  • Shockwave Add-on for IE hangs IE and then IE times out.

If Shockewave Add-on for IE is enabled. IE hangs with a Blank page and times out.
If we disable shoackwave add-on everything works fine. This would be fine but shockwave add-on is required for some sites.

You require both Shockwave Player and Flash Player add-ons?  First thing to do is to find out which one is causing the hang.

  • HTTP and HTTPS connections time out--only one computer on the LAN has this problem. Also affects Internet Explorer

For the last few days HTTP and HTTPS connections on one computer on my LAN usually time out or fail to load completely. This also affects Internet Explorer on the same machine, but email, FTP, etc. seem to be working normally. The URLs that do not load in the browsers ping normally, and load normally on another machine on the same LAN. Running Firefox in Safe Mode does not help.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • When I key on a website it will not come up all the sudden and the search times out. It is usually a click on attachment and Firefox has gotten very slow.

For example, I opened my Citibank file and tried to open my Visa account and it would not open and then timed out. I tried to open from my email my college board account and it only timed out. I went to Internet Explorer and they opened. Is there a problem at Firefox?

  • Safari slow loading, iTunes and System Update time out

The other day I found that Safari started taking a very long time to load pages. Yet, Firefox loads pages normally. Then, I found out that my iTunes podcasts were not being updated. The error states that the network connection timed out. Trying a Software Update, i sometimes get that there is a network problem. During all of these problems, Mail and Firefox continue to work fine.

It appears that iTunes and Safari are working at my work place. At home and work, I use the same airport settings but have different vintages of airports. So, it is either a problem with my ISP at home (cox.net) or airport. However, another laptop computer didn't have these probelm. So, I am still confused as to the source of the problem.

My own diagnosis is that the modem is not compatible with time capsule but I'd like to have a confirmation on this.
It would really help us if you could provide the manufactuer and model number of your modem.
it's possible that another user reading this post may have the same modem and be able to help, or we can check to get specifications and support documentation online if we know what you have. As of now, I'm afraid that we know nothing.

  • Have just found a hickup on the Lion software 10.7.2 When using a access point that you name with letters that is only in Norwegian æøå you will loose connections and only get time out. So the solution will be to rename the access point.

Any solution beside to rename the wifi access point without the spesial Norwegian letters æøå?

Your points match mine pretty well, though here are some thoughts:
    1. I thought about this theory myself this morning (iTunes possibly causing more issues), but I haven't been able to verify it.
    2. When I set up a new user it seemed better for a while, but the issue croppped back up. Yesterday I fully wiped the machine and reinstalled from scratch. I did not reimport my user from TimeMachine, but the problem has come back. My thinking was that I might have some really old software or prefs hanging around causing the issue. No dice.
    3. This is my current theory of the issue, so my next step will be to pull the RAM from Crucial and see how the system behves. IF that doesn't eliminate the problem, I'll pull the factory installed RAM and replace it with the 3rd party RAM. The odd thing is how many people seem to have similar issues - I know two personally, and have seen several posts on forums. I think the most common point for this happening was the 10.7.2 update, which would point to software as the culprit.
    4. That matches my experience.
My hope is that this will be repaired in the forthcoming 10.7.3 release (current production version is 10.7.2), but otuside of what I noted above, I'm at a loss.
