WVC80N Linksys Cam does not recognize MAC Time Capsule router

I cannot get the linksys cam to work with Apple Time capsule.  I do have a linksys router (WRT160n) and tried to feed off the time capsule but no luck.  Does mac make a web cam?

I think you can call to mac support and open ports 80 and 1024 for the Camera.Assign the static ip address on the Camera in the range of your router. You can also, check this link.Hope it helps !!!

Do a full TM reset.. see A4 here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
You might also need to manually mount the TC disk..
In finder use Go, Connect to server in the top menu.
AFP://TCname or TCIPaddress (using the actual name or IP of course).

  • Firewire thunderbolt adaptor does not recognize my time machine external hard drive

Hi everybody. I have a retina MacBook Pro, and wanted to connect my time machine external HD to the mac using a firewire-thunderbolt adaptor.
I did so, but the HD does not show up in the devices menu. Any suggestion?
    thank you for your help

Have you tried rebooting? If you share what type drive you have, perhaps others will share their experiences. Is your drive bus powered? I haven't had any trouble so far connecting through a TB-FW adapter to my external hard drive (Hitachi drive in an OWC case, bus powered).

  • I pad does not recognize mac or i tunes

What OSX version do you have installed? You need at least 10.5.8.  Also see:

  • Safari Installer Does Not Recognize Mac OSX After 10.5.5 Update

I have been trying to reinstall Safari on my Mac, and after downloading the installer it says that my hard drives does not contain OSX and cannot be installed. This is after I did the OSX 10.5.5 update. I know I can reinstall from the OS disc but it is a hassle really.

    Hello,
Sounds like your Software Updater is confused. Locate this file: com.apple.softwareupdate.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Try Software Update now.
Also, whenever you do an update like 10.5.4 to 10.5.5... run Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions BEFORE and AFTER the update. That can fix a myriad of problems with any updates.
Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select the FirstAid tab, then click Repair Disk Permissions. Takes about a minute to run depending on the size of the drive. When it's finished, Quit Disk Utility from the Menu Bar. That's all there is to it.

  • Time Machine does not see a Time Capsule external drive

Time Machine will not recognize an external drive attached to my Time Capsule, even though it did so last week. How do I get it working again?
Until last week, I was using Time Machine to back up to a Verbatim 2 TB drive attached to a Time Capsule. It occasionally hung, requiring me to restart the Time Capsule in order to get backups working again, so I bought a Seagate 2 TB drive to replace the Verbatim in case the problem was a flaky drive. Now I can't get Time Machine to recognize either disk when the disk is attached to the Time Capsule.
Both disks are formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Both disks work correctly when I attach them directly to my Mac. When I attach either disk to the Time Capsule, Airport Utility shows the external drive, shows that sharing is enabled, and I can even mount the Time Capsule with Finder and see the external disk with Finder. But when I try to Select Disk in Time Machine Preferences, whether or not the Time Capsule is mounted with Finder, Time Machine Preferences doesn't see the disk—the only choices of disk are My User Account on the Time Capsule, and Other Time Capsule.
Restarting my Mac and restarting the Time Capsule does not help. Software and firmware updates are (and have been) up to date. I'm running OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 and Time Capsule version 7.6.4.
To reiterate, this was working a week ago. How do I get it working again?

If nothing in your configuration has changed, you can try plugging the disks one at a time directly into your mac, run Disk Utility and perform a Repair Disk. If any errors are displayed, rerun Repair Disk until there are none. Then try them back on the Time Capsule.

  • Setting up camera on a mac time capsule router

I have 2 macs and 1 PC; all are connected through my time capsule.  I tried plugging in the camera into the time capsule but could not access the setup page.  So, is this camera useless to me?  also, my ip address is not the default it is something totally different and I also tried typing that in as well. No luck.  thanks, celeste

Whats the Model number of your Camera?
Hardwired the Camera to your Computer using an ethernet cable and assigne a static IP to your Computer. Click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>>Network Connections- Right click on the icon for Local area connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select 'Use the following IP address'- Provide IP Address - 192.168.1.5, Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway - 192.168.1.1- Preferred DNS 192.168.1.1, Alternate DNS - 4.2.2.2 >>Click on Ok button to Save and Click on "Close" on main Properties window.
Now Open IE and in the Address bar type http://192.168.1.115 and hit enter and when prompted for username and password, leave the username blank and in the password type "admin" and click Ok. Once login to the Camera setup page, First change the wireless settings of your Camera and it should be in your Routers settings. Then change the IP address of your Camera and it should be in your Routers range and click on Save Settings.
Once all the settings are save, Unplug the camera from your Computer, Remove the static iP from your Computer and Unplug the power from your camera and wait for 30 seconds and replug the power back to your camera. On your computer click on Start - Run - CMD and click ok and this will open the command prompt window and in the black window type "ping Ipo address of your Camera" and hit enter and check if you are getting replies. If yes this means your camera is configured properly.

  • HT3728 airport utility does not see my time capsule

I got a Time Capsule for Christmas, have hooked it up, turned it on, then the Airport Utility. The airport utility has not found it - I have reset it using the button on the back several times and still nothing. I have also restarted my computer, which is a new macbook pro, but nothing.
Advice please! I am new to Mac and am quite frustrated, considering returning the Time Capsule, if I can ...

That was not helpful of Apple at all, as this is a much trickier setup..
I have just posted details in another thread. Longish post I am not sure how to reference a particular post.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3528704?tstart=0
Please follow those instructions to load 5.6 airport utility.. as you will find it much better.
In your case you will need to do the same thing but on the airport setup.. which is another layer in to ethernet.
But the idea is the same.. do not use automatic setup of the wireless IP settings.. you need to do it manually but it is relatively easy. Again you need to make sure your ISP is not using a 10.x.x.x address as many do.. the cheap skates are saving IP addresses. If they do that you will need to use manual setup of the TC as well.
You will still want to do the setup of the TC by ethernet.. but can use wireless once it is done.
Exactly as in the other thread, go to airport in network preference and go to the airport setup, then fix the IP address as I have shown.
If you need more info try to ask specific questions .. screenshots also help.

  • HT201250 Time Machine does not recognised my Time Capsule

I need help here..I have changed my password for the wi fi and now my Time Capsule has disappeared totally out of the network..It even now can not be traced

OK, so it sounds like you have a Mac formatted drive that you have used previously for Time Machine, and disconnected it for a few weeks, and you can now see files on it OK from your Mac. However, when the system tries to run a Time Machine backup, you get an error message "Can't backup. Reformat the disk. Files can still be read but the drive can no longer be used for back-ups. Get a new external drive. Run back-ups as soon as possible."
I have not seen this problem before, and would recommend that you look through the Time Machine troubleshooting information at http://pondini.org/TM/Home.html
For instance, http://pondini.org/TM/B1.html or http://pondini.org/TM/B6.html could help in your situation.  I'm assuming (but probably shouldn't) that you've verified that your hard drive doesn't need repair (another Disk Utility function) and that there is still a Time Machine backup on that drive - look for the directory Backups.backupdb.
I hope that helps.  If not, perhaps someone with more Time Machine knowledge will pop along soon to help you further.

  • Latest Airport Utility v6.3 does not find my time capsule

After installing the latest vestion of the airport utility on my MBP I can no longer find my Time Capsule in the utility rendering unusable. Anyone else seeing this behavior or have any suggestion to correct the issue.

You really need to have the latest firmware on your devices (7.6.3). I am thinking your devices (whether it be an airport extreme or an airport timecapsule is not set up right, for what ever reason. Perhaps you need to make sure you are connected to the right network. Select the wifi icon in your menu bar and make sure you are in your network.
Are you able to see it using airport utility 5.6 ? (that is the version before 6.2 and 6.3). Although the latest airport utilty (6.3) in my opinion is much easier to work with.
    Otherwise...
Are you comfortable hard resetting it... (holding a pen to the reset button for several seconds, while the light blinks amber).  This will temporially disconcect you from the internet and you will have to reset everything.

  • Spotlight Does Not Index My Time Capsule

    Hi all.
I've been having this problem for about 6 months now. I've never been able to get Spotlight to pull up anything on my TC when I do a search.
I've checked every forum on the web that has anything even close to this topic and I've tried all the suggestions (using Terminal, placing TC into the Spotlight "Privacy" tab and then removing it, etc..) and nothing works.
My TC works fine, even though it is very slow on the wireless network, and I have nothing corrupted on it as far as I can see.
So my question is this: Is it that TC simply DOES NOT work with Spotlight?
Or is there something wrong with my Leopard? Everything else on my computer works perfectly fine.
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem and posted the very same question last week, but no one replied.
    Anyone from Apple?

  • Printer does not work with Time capsule

I have a cannon mp960 which up until recently has been hooking up wirelessly to my mac via Time capsule. Yesterday I couldn't print. I was able to print when I directly hooked up the printer to the computer. When I attempt to switch it back it will sometimes find the printer and other times it doesn't. Sometimes it won't let me add the printer (I get an -300 error) other times it works fine.
Could it be a hardware problem?
    Any thoughts about this issue?
    Thanks,
    Keith

I found a solution to this problem. Open AirPort Utility>select the Time Capsule>Manual Setup>Select the "Printers" tab at the top>check the box in front of "Share printers over Ethernet WAN port">click update at the bottom and Voila!!

  • My Windows XP PC will not recognize my time capsule in AirPort

I just bought an airport and I plugged it into the modem, plugged in the power, and then ran the airport utility on my PC. It then just says it cannot find any apple devices, and when you hit rescan, it immediately tells you again that it cannot find anything. The time capsule just keeps on blinking orange, and I have restarting my modem, and time capsule in various combinations and it still doesn't work.
    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Time Machine does not see old Time Capsule backsups after change in network setting?

    Hi all,
Just brought our TC to our summer home for the season and have a few issues.
Instead of using it as our router, I added it to our existing AEBS network.  After doing this, all of our macs did not backup for a day or so.  Once I noticed this issue, I pointed them all back to the TC drive and backups have begun again.
However, 8 months worth of backups are no longer accessible via Time Machine on any of the macs. The files are there on the TC disk and they sorta show up in Time Machine.  That is, they are showing up on the right hand side as dates and little lines, but these dates and little lines are dead links. (the equivalent of being greyed out and unavailable)
Why did this happen when simply changing the TC network settings?  More importantly, how do I fix it so my older backups become available again?
    Thanks!
    Stu

The grayed-out lines mean that whatever's in the Finder window wasn't backed-up on that particular backup.
Try selecting your Computer name in the Finder sidebar (or pressing Shift+Cmd+C) before Entering Time Machine.  That will show one folder representing each the volumes (disks or partitions) currently connected.  Without changing anything on the Today (Now) window, click one of the backups in question.  That should show a folder for each volume that was included in that particular backup.
