WWI report Symbols

Hi Gurus
I am in the process of creating new template for Incident Management. In incident management we have Root Cause hierarchy. In our system we dont have standard symbols for root cause hierarchy. Any idea what are the symbols we need to use for popuating the RC hierarchy values in the report?
Standard table for RC hierarchy is CCIHT_RC.
TIA
Regards
Murali

Hello Murali,
As far as my knowledge goes, there is no standard SAP way to include cause heirarchy nodes as symbols in the report template.
My suggestion here would be to write the summary of the root cause analysis in  "Investigation result". This field you can very well capture in the template with symbol "EAI_IVRSLT INVRESULT".

Pavan

    HI Experts,
    In the IMG activity, "Check & Specify Report Symbol", under "report symbol type" these fields are listed,
    Phrase
    Specification
    Parameter
    Descriptor
    Standard Repeating Group
    Special Repeating Group
    Blank Compression Group
    Optimized Repeating Group
    IF Repeating Group
    Template
    Version Information
    Language Information
    Language Switch
    Generation Date
    Control Command

    Out of these, we know few symbol type like 2.Specification,3.Parameter,.........
    But what about the other Report Symbol Types ? How they can be used & Where..?
    Regarding, 16.Comments: Can this symbol type can be used to fulfill the purpose asked here,http://scn.sap.com/thread/3334515 ?
    Thanks & Regards

    Dear Subash
    I checked this topic again. I have some interesting information. Later on I am planning to prepare a new document. Therefore: thanks for asking the question; it was very interesting to find some answers and to drill down in WWI process (which is quite complex).
    Ok: The values you have mentioned are part of a domain in SAP (check report symbol table of EHS using transaction se11). If you generate a "where used list" you will find some Includes. One is related to "Constants" and in one other the "Constants" are used (here in a Form routine)
    Therefore comming back to your list:
    Phrase
    Specification
    Parameter
    Descriptor
    Standard Repeating Group
    Special Repeating Group
    Blank Compression Group
    Optimized Repeating Group
    IF Repeating Group
    Template
    Version Information
    Language Information
    Language Switch
    Generation Date
    Control Command
    Comments
    Any of these report types does have a "linked" value. Now it is interesting to detect that this value is used as "part" of the report symbol. You can check this by investigating table "ESTLS".
    Example: if you check SAP online help regarding e.g."Repeating group" and an example you find this one:
    <11BRG001(M,SAP_EHS_1015_003;1-3)>
    <01G1015003AD(P;1)>
    <11ERG001>
    Now the value "11" is the value as part if the domain relating to "Standard Repeating Group".
    The topic is explained a littel bit here:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/a7/2874e50a6c11d28a220000e829fbbd/content.htm?frameset=/en/c1/eda0f591ec12408b25e7a1b369ca45/frameset.htm
    Chapter "Editing Descriptor Symbols"
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/6a/8ef2639f214475aebe63d8c6c6ae3c/content.htm
    shows an example of thge "IF" type like:<15BIF006(AND:01EHS_ICREPV NE "NON")>
    Therefore the value of "IF Repeating Group" = 15 (refer to content of the domain)
    If you check the entries of ESTLS you can detect which report does have which report symbol and report symbol type and you can therefore detect which report symbol types are used and which are not.
    Actually the type:
    Comments
    is not supported by SAP (therefore If my debug result is correct: even if you try to generate a report symbol with "link" tothis value; you wil not recieve a result). But in a parallel thread this topic has been discussed. So we can hope/assume that may be SAP will deliver something.
    I am sorry to say that I will take some time to "drill" deeper. But if I am finished I plan to share the result.
    C.B.
    PS: The "value" for "Template" = 20 => if you check ESTLS, WWI etc. This value is used to "include" a WWI layout within a WWI layout; check e.g.

    See note 920317.  That warning won't affect the result based on this example.  You are using (2-*) on both the Discrete repeating group and the symbol itself.  In your new system, the area you use discrete repeating group overrides the area on the symbol.  The note gives some examples.

  • Creating simple WWI report

    Hello All,
    Can someone kindly write down very basic  steps by which I can create a simple WWI report by extracting some field values from Property tree of specification.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sachin

    Hello Sachin
    to my knowlegde WWI is integrated in most of the EH&S submodules. The SAP standard can be used to generate a high number of report symbols which are connected to the different submodules and the SAP EH&S set up can be used to generate if necessary very easily customer specific symbols.
    Further on WWI as a "printing" technique etc. has grown a lot in the recent years. Here I can give only a small summary:
    With the recent releases of SAP EH&S you can use e.g. a "report template" in a "report template" which is a good starting point in my opinion to handle better the WWI topic. Further on SAP has increased the possibilites in using so called "place holder phrases". One is linked to a "old" relase (related majnly to DG management topics) and a new one which has been prepared recently.
    It is a good idea to do a small inquiry in SAP marketplace to find the corrresponding OSS.
    As Recipe Management uses in the background to my knowlegde the EH&S indicates that you can use WWI to derive data using WWI from Recipe Management too (Sorry: I have too no experience here).
    If you perform an inquiry in SDN you will find a high number of entries regarding "Recipe Management" and in some of them I have seen that similar questions have been asked and answered (how to derive data using WWI). Now coming back to what Niraj said:
    If you take a look in cg54 and cg50 you will see a number of "report applications".
    Therefore the WWI technique to my knowlegde can now be used in really any EH&S submodule you can think about.
    WWI is normally used to generate MSDS, SOP, Lables etc. but can be used ot my knowlege in EH&S IH and OH as well to "print" data in a report.
    MSDS and Lables are "special"  from my point of view because of SAP history. The reason is simple. The generation of especially a MSDS or a lable will drive most of your EH&S acitvities in most companyies. Further on SOPs (Standad operating measuress) are used often and in the past in europe tremcards. The generation of a MSDS or a SOP was one of the first major topics which SAP solved with EH&S.  Later on (i believe with SAp enterprise Extenstion 2.0) GLM has been introduced
    What is really important is to understand the link between the "substance generation variant" the "report template" and the "report application".
    Personally I would suggest that you try to "print" e.g. an identifier as the first step to get expericene in using WWI. From the "technical point of view" such a report layout and generation variant etc. can be created within not more than 2 hours if you have a basic idea of WWI.
    With best regards
    C.B.
    Shipped with EH&S there is are some "default WWI" layout (which can be found in the corresponding folder in the WWI on your client).

  • No Reporting Symbol for the cube.

    Hi all,
    no reporting symbol for an cube.
    I created Z cube without any aggregates and loaded data sucessfuly QM status is green but i'm not able to see the reporting symbol next the request id.  When i checked in manage content data, data is available for the fact but not for any dimension table.
    Please go through the following when we did the diagnosis.
    Diagnosis
        There is an inconsistency between the load status of the data and the
        option of reporting on this data.
        There is data in the InfoProvider that is OK from a quality point of
        view, but is not yet displayed in reporting.
        The problem, for example, is to do with request 0000003343, number
        REQU_44ROL5YBBCJMDL5HQ8TVBAER6.
    Procedure
        Choose Refresh  to remove the inconsistency.
    As per the procedure we did but went to short dump

    Highly appreciable if any one could resolve our issues.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Generating WWI Report in Background by JOB in SM36

    Hello,
    I have got a requirement to generate WWI report for specification and save it to Desktop using Program which will be scheduled in Background.
    I have found some Standard Function module (C12H_WWI_DISPLAY_DIRECT) which generates and displays the report in foreground. When I use that FM in program and schedule that program in Background , it is not generating any report for specification.
    Please anyone has any suggestion of how to generate WWI report for specification in background.
    Thanks ,
    Sujit

    Dear Sujit
    topic has been discussed very often in EHS FORUm. As reference: Bulk MSDS Download
    C.B.
    PS: according to my knowlegde: C12H_WWI_DISPLAY_DIRECT is used to get a WWI report for "client"; the document is not stored in SAP DMS etc.; therefore: this is no "real" report. EHS knows a functionality to show onclient level (SAP GUI) the WWI report. But the content is not "verified" by an expert.
    In any case may be these threads might be of interest:

  • How to get report symbol in cube

    Hi Experts,
    In one of my cube not showing report symbol (only for new request) so how to get the report symbol.
    Regards,
    Siva

    Hi there,
    Do you see the status of the request as green (green icon)?
    If so, but still don't see the report symbol, that's because you probably have aggregates in that InfoCube that you haven't done the roll up.
    Therefore, go to the tab Rollup and in the request ID make sure you have that last request (you can click F4 and choose it) after that click on execute. You'll have to wait the roll up is finished (can control it under transaction sm37) and afterwords your request will be ready for reporting.

  • New parameter report symbol configuration

    What is the end to end process of creating new report symbol .Do I have to create separate function module and assign in the configuration .

    Hello M D,
    1. You would need to configure a symbol group and assign function modules to it, if no suitable existing symbol group available.
    There are two function modules assigned to each symbol group:
    The first function module is used for symbol expansion. Use function module  'C12O_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT' for symbol expansion.
    The second function module is used for default parameter determination of symbol groups. You can copy the existing function module for determining default parameter values for any standard symbol groups and change the copied function module according to your requirement to fill the values for parameter symbol.
    2. Then, you configure a new parameter symbol and assign it to the symbol group.
    3. Add the parameter symbol in the report template.
    4. Development to be done in the function module  for determining default parameter values, assigned to the symbol group, to populate the value for the parameter symbol based on your requirement.

    FM CVEA_RDOS_CREATE_BY_EHS contains a table parameter X_DDO_TAB_TYPE which contains the table fields values, class characteristics values for values fields specified in WWI template and will be used by the WWI generation server to create the report.

  • Diplay multiple Graphic Phrases within WWI report (EHS)

    Hi,
    To generate mutliple graphic phrases within a WWI report, it requires to use the repaeting group type - Descrete Expansion of Multiple Values - (within Edit Report), which results in the following coding:
    <11BRG048(M,Z_SAFETY_CARD_8008;*)>
    <11BRG051(D;*)>
    code within text box----
    <01GZSC_ZSC81(G)[SZ:A;D:APersonal Protection]>
    -code within text box--
    <11BRG051>
    <11BRG048>
    The result is the diplay of only one graphic (multple phrase graphics are assigned the specification workbench) in the template generation of the report. What do I do wrong?
    Regards,
    Roy Derks

    Robin,
    Thank you for the details, we can display multiple pictures now.
    The pictures are diplayed (which is correct) next to eachother, but every next picture is displayed a little bit lower than the other one. We are using the following coding:
    <11BRG048(M,Z_SAFETY_CARD_8008;*)>
    <01GZC_ZSC81(G;*)[SZ:A;D:Personal Protection]>
    <11BRG056(D;*)>
    <11BRG056>
    <11BRG048>
    Note, that the following code is placed in a text box:
    <01GZC_ZSC81(G;*)[SZ:A;D:Personal Protection]>
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind regards,

  • Resorting of components and display on WWI report

    Hi,
    we would like to display the ingredients of a compostion on a WWI report. We have implemented a user exit GEN_POSRG to change the sorting order of the ingredient before the output. The ingredients need to be displayed as a flow text separated by comma. Unfortunately the combination of both cases does not seem to be that easy. I tried to use two POS repeating groups (S:POS;1) and comma (S:POS;2-) to show the first ingredient and then in a loop all other ingredients with a preceeding comma. When attaching the user exit to both POS groups the first POS group wil lonly get the first ingredient instead of all. So the sorting does no work.
    Any idea on how to solve this?
    Regards, Michael

    Hello Michael,
    it might be possible to use a stack. Say you want to sort the ingredients based on their content, the component with the highest content in the mixture should come first. Try:
    Initialize stack:
    <11BRG001(M,SAP_EHS_1012_004;)><11BRG002(S:POS;)>
    <01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_NEW)[D:Value]>
    <01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_PUSH)[D:Value]>
    Sort stack in descending order:
    <01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_SORT_DESC)[D:Value]>
    <11ERG002><11ERG001>
    If stack is not empty:
    <13BNG005(*:01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_TOP))>
    Print highest value:
    <11BRG006(M,SAP_EHS_1012_004;*)>
    <11BRG007(S:POS;1)>
    <01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_TOP)>
    <11ERG007>
    Print all other values:
    <11BRG008(S:POS;2-*)>
    , <01GESTVCOMPA(M:C14N_SYMBOL_STACK_TOP)>
    <11ERG008><11ERG006><13ENG005>
    I haven't tested this code but it should work. Please note that the stack may in your system not be in name space C14N but rather in /TDAG/CS104 or ZISI104. You need to check this.
