WYSIWYG Printing Problems in Month View

Does anyone know how to get printouts of the monthly calendar view to actually replicate what is on the screen? Even though I have set preferences to suppress times in the Month View (which does work on the screen), the times still appear when I print. Also, even though the text appears in the appropriate color on the screen (according to the color-coded task I have assigned), only the tiny leader bullet appears in color on the printed version.
I have tried to set everything as an all-day event (which does suppress the times, as well as prints it in the appropriate color capsule), but this impacts the hierarchical ordering of the task on the calendar (ie. red tasks are homework, so I want them to appear as the last items on each day's tasks).
Thanks for any insight you can offer!

I'm also having a WYSIWYG in printing iCal. For me it's in the Week view. The event does not print out the way it appears on the screen. The problem started when I moved to the new iMac Intel computer. On my G3, it printed exactly as appeared on the screen. I can see the problem right on the Print screen (new in the latest version.)
There are no updates for the computer. We've installed them all.
I don't see any choices in the Preferences or the print screen that change anything. The exact problem is that the event appears as a tiny sliver in the time alloted on the week view - it doesn't take up the full time blocked out. It's as if the program is leaving extra space in case I want to add other events during the same time. When entering the event it looks great.
Any ideas out there?

  • HT2513 How do I get the location to print in the monthly view?

Is there a way to get the location to show as well as print in the monthly view?  The events that I'm concerned about are 'all day' events in a separate calendar.

Rich media in PDF isn't designed for print workflows so you cannot control what appears - you should just get a bitmap 'screenshot' of whatever the viewport was displaying at the time.

  • Printing Times in Month View

When I print a calendar in month view, some of the event times print, but some of them only print as an elipsis "..." This seems to happen arbitrarily, without any correlation to the length of the event description. So, some short descriptions have an elipsis for the time (even though there is plenty of room to print the time) and some long descriptions have the time. Does anyone know how to print a monthly view calendar so that the time prints for every event?
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I'm troubleshooting the same problem for one of my clients. Not certain if this helps or not, but the elipsis "..." only seem to appear in events that are set to the "floating" time zone.
Still working on a solution (or work around)...

  • Printing time range month view

This is driving me crazy. All I want to do is print the start time and the end time in month view. The problem is that I only get a start time for the event. Or if I try to enter the time in the even manually I get a time and a time range. The only way i found that works is to check the all day box then enter the time range manually in the event (3:00-5:00). When I print it works, but it screws up the snyc to my pda, and the list view. Any ideas?

I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

  • I try to print my calendar (month view), but it starts on tuesday. I would like it to start on Monday.

I try to print my calendar using the month view. The problem is that the first column start with Tuesday whereas I would like it to start with Monday. Any clues?
Nota Bene: in my settings the week starts the Monday.
    Thanks a lot

New bug introduced with Yosemite, I can't reproduce it on 10.9.5.
The work around I found is to set the first day of the week as Sunday. Then you have a printed version of the week or month starting at Monday.

  • Wrong starting day of the week printing calendar in month view

I'm trying to print a month view calendar with the weeks starting from Monday.
In "Preferences" -> "General tab" ->"Start week on:"  I've set Monday, and it is properly viewed in Calendar, but when I try to print it in the preview I see Tuesday as first day of the week.
This happens on many MacBook that I've tried, all with Yosemite and Italian regional settings.
The only way to resolve this issue is to open "System Preferences" ->"Language & Region" and change the "First day of the week:" on Sunday in all my "Preferred Languages" (both Italian and English), to have the printing preview of a calendar starting on Monday!
    Is there an other way?
Is this a bug that should be submitted to Apple to get a "patch" on future releases of Mac OS X?
I know, it is a tiny issue, but annoying.

    Re: Calendar printing problem

  • I'm trying to have the end times shows up when I print my calendar from the month view. As of now, when I print in the monthly view, it only gives me the start time of a meeting.

I would like to have the ending times shown on my monthly calendar.  As of now, it only shows the start time.  The end times show up on the weekly calendar, but I don't want to print from the weekly view.

    Hi,
    I see two issues,
    1. the url is not correct for the image, www.mountjay.com/Home/MountJayDesign.jpg
    2. meta property should go in to head section, at the moment, it is under body (if you insert the code as html). go to page properties-> Metadata-> head. Paste this here, and check the site again,
Please let me know if you have any other query.

  • Problem in month view

If I setup an event that starts on Friday night and proceeds until Sunday morning, in month view it doesn't show properly.  In both day and week view, I can see the event correctly.  It appears that unless I make the event "all day" then it won't show on days after the first.
This appears to be a flaw in iCal under Lion, but has anyone seen a way to fix this?

I just barely had this problem.  I restarted the program and it worked.

  • ICal won't print times in month view...

Since DST changed this past weekend, I am no longer able to print my monthly calendar with visible times. All I get are dots and then the event. However, when I print a weekly list calendar, the times show up next to the event. I can also view a monthly calendar on my computer with all the times. What can I do to print a monthly calendar that will print the times/events? Thank you. Steve

    Steve,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quit iCal, find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and try again.

  • ICal Printing notes in Monthly view

Upon my recommendation a friend became a switcher from Windows to Mac. (Outlook to iCal) He wants to print a Monthly calendar with his appointments along with the notes that are associated with it.
He can not figure it out. I have never printed from iCal, so is there help, a hack, or is it just too hard?

I am replying to myself for the benefit of others who have read the post but without answer.
I found this software per a suggestion on the 43Folders group from Google.

  • Printing/Preview Calendar Month View shows no appointment

On some clients when the user clicks on Calendar and then choose print calendar both preview and the print(obviously) show no calendar events. There are calendar events on those days and other users with some of the same calendars can print.
We've updates the client to 2012 SP2, Firefox is the latest and we tried changing IE to be the default browser in case that was involved. We also changed their default printer to be the same as a working client and rebooted the workstation. No effect - although changing the default printer ended up showing a gray screen instead of at least just a blank calendar. We also checked all options to see that they were the same as a working client.
I am at a loss. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what to try to get this fixed. They really need the option to print their calendars on a regular basis. Thank you.

    Hi Laura,
I see TID 7011876 that talks about "Unable to print shared or subscribed calendars" and how it prints just a blank page with date range. Our problem is similar - even the print preview comes up grey. We seem to have fixed it on one workstation with a client repair install from another Windows profile but it's a fluke because it hasn't fixed anyone else.
Anything that you can do to help us get this through to Novell is so greatly appreciated. This is a major problem for us. I have full departments that have migrated from using Google calendars to GroupWise. As an organization we are trying to all use the same calendaring system. Some of my departments have a real need to print and cannot do so. This is keeping them from communicating with staff. That TID I mention is from SP1 and listed Reported to Engineering in March.
I know in Enterprise Calendar it would seem that printing to paper would be a low priority but my Administrators have shown me very good reasons to do so. Hopefully, Novell can look at this as more of a priority to fix. We are on SP2 at this point. Thanks again. 8^D

  • Month View - Print Events Without Time

Is there a way to print events in month view without the time? Alternately, is there a way to print all the words in an all-day event in month view? Sometimes I type a paragraph for an event, and as long as it's a timed event, iCal displays all the words. But if it's an all-day event, iCal only shows the first few words, because it wants to keep it on one line. Printing the time in month view gets in the way sometimes.
This may be an option that doesn't exist yet, so Apple - help me out please!
    Thanks!

    musetta24,
Sorry to see that no one replied to your post back in October.
Normally when I notice that someone posted for the first time in Apple Discussions, I open my reply with - "Welcome to Apple Discussions." With my apologies for the lack of responses, please accept a belated welcome and reply to your question.
    Widowwmaker,
iCal will not print without displaying the times.
If you are willing to use the Preview application, you could take a screen shot of your preferred iCal window, and print using the Preview print menu.

  • Printing Month View in the Normal 8x11 View

This was a HUGE problem in the past and hoping it may be better.
Have never been able to print any of the iCal views in the "tall" 8x11 view. iCal only prints in the "wide" "11x8" view.
There were a few pain in the neck work-arounds and I am hoping that there may be easier ways to print iCal in the "Normal" views.
Anyone have any news news on this?
    Jack
    p.s. hopefully 10.5 will fix/upgrade this

I googled this query and found that the is a glitch for 1 Apr 13. If this date has any 'all day' events it prevents displaying march 13 in month view.
I amended all my appointments to 20 hour periods to cover the whole day and this alleviated my problem.

  • Palm Desktop 6.2.2: Can't print only one category in Month View

I recently upgraded my palm desktop to 6.2.2 when I got a new PC with windows vista.  When I am in the month view of the calendar and I choose to print, it prints all categories regardless of which category I have selected in the onscreen display.  In my previous version of palm desktop running on windows XP I was able to print only a single category of appointmenets in the month view.  I think of this as a bug.  Is there any way to fix this?

I have the similar problem.  I have three separate calendars but when I try to print only one, the outcome is that the information in all three calendars gets printed as one.  I cannot find a fix.  HELP.

Thank you so much... I put this in another thread too, but, through help I learned that it is the errors that's causing this. The problem is that I don't know enough to fix it. It happens in a nested table, (don't know CSS well enough either to use it instead) and I can't figure it out... its a full page table, 50% on each side, and a center cell that should contain a same-size nested table... as in, I want to put all the content in the center.
The error:  "table" is not allowed within: "tr"
