X-Fi 24bit Crystalizer doesn't w

Audio creation console displayed, 24bit crystalizer enabled (max), music playing, push record, music records and is saved.
Using Mediasource organizer, select recorded song, right click, menu pops up, selects properties |Other. Dialog states 24bit crystalilzer: NO.
Any ideas why it wasn't recorded in 24bit C?
Thanks.

Did you had recording format set to 24-bit (Select Recording format)?
Can the Crystalizer be used "on the fly" (while recording), or is it only for already existing files (like audio CD, mp3, etc)).
Do you need to have the crystalizer acti've when playbacking already processed audio?

  • Crystalizer doesn't seem to w

Turning Crystalizer on or off makes absolutely no difference whereas i remember in Windows XP it did. Anyone else having this problem? Btw, i'm on Vista 64x, with May X-Fi drivers, digitally outputting the signal through SPDIF out.

You'd think everybody is happy with their X-Fi...

  • 16bit 24bit with M-audio fasttrack

I just bought an m-audio fast track pro audio interface and hooked it up to my macbook (10.5.8) iTunes plays through it without problems and Logic express can record etc etc and all seems to work.
BUT only when I set the sample depth to 16bit, itunes plays with 24bit but when I use Logic I get a very bad digital distortion in the output. I have to set it to 16bit in the system preferences, then it works.
I thought Logic express can handle 24bit, the interface can handle 24bit, why doesn't it work then?
    What did I do wrong?

I now just found out it seems to have something to do with the USB ports. Are they different (on a Macbook) It looks like it depends on which one is used wether you can use 24bit or 16bit recording/playback. Does anyone know about this?

Hi, thanks for the reply, appreciated. I'm new to the x-fi software and not really sure of what options to have selected etc in the various modes for most effecti've sound. Would it be possible for you to tell me what you have selected for "game" mode especially and what in game sound options you use for Call of Duty 2? I would be very grateful if you could, thanks.
i use the following settings all the time:
in the creative console game mode, speakers set to 5., EAX effects off, CMSS 3D off, 24bit crystalizer on and set to 0%
in games i select always the highest EAX mode available, in case of COD2 that's EAX3

  • X-Fi XtremeMusic = Headphones&Mic + Speake

    Hi out there!
    I need your help!
    Plz!
I've got a Audigy X-Fi XtremeMusic installed and all works excellent! (I love the 24bit crystalizer ^_^d)
But I'd like to listen to some music on my stereo and on the other hand I'd like to use some communication-software (teamspeak, skype.. etc), which should be directed through the headphones.
At moment I try to get along by having installed the onboard-soundblaster (ac97 @soundmax version 5.2..3630, mobo: asus p4c-800e-deluxe) and using the "SoundMax Digital Audio"-Device for Teamspeak. The headphone and the microphone is plugged in the motherboard's sockets... and generally it works. BUT.. if I change the master-volume-control on the SoundMax-Control-Panel this change will also affect the master-volume of the creative-audigy-panel!?!?!
Is it possible to change the volume independently? And if so, how? Or are there any other solutions?
I've just discovered a button near the volume-control of the entertainment-mode.. apparently the headphone-volume can be changed autonomously.. so, maybe it's possible to do it with just the Audigy X-Fi Soundcard and the right adjustments?
I'm very confused and I'm very bad in understanding technics... and my english is bad too, sorry!
But, if you understand my problem and have any solution... please help me...!
    Greetz, Titi ^_^

I am having similar problems. I can use my mic fine but the static/overall quality of recording with my mic is HORRIBLE. I have tried 2 headsets and a regular microphone that I bought awhile back. I have an X-Fi ExtremeMusic that I just recently bought, and I installed the drivers off the cd, then updated the drivers on the soundblaster website. If I switch to Game mode, my record device is set on mic, but the static is unbearable.

  • Analog 5.1 headphones & Optical Speake

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Platnium w/optional front panel. Is it possible to configure my Medusa 5. surround sound headphones to be plugged in and still get sound via the Optical Toslink to my digital speakers (configured analog though)?
Additionally, if I have the GMXD5. which limits my sound to 2. stereo - what are the best settings for the fullest effect? I see CMSSD, 24bit crystalizer, others, but I can't obviously get 5. through my speakers (hence headphones for gaming).
    All help appreciated.

    Use a Stereo splitter adaptor.

  • Will there be a patch beta?

I, like many, have experienced the iTunes 5 services related problem.
Is sounds as if Apple is working to correct this problem with a patch
My question is - Does Apple run a (closed or open) Beta for their patches and product revs?
I have found runnin a real (not marketing driven) beta to be quite valuable in improving robustness, ensuring compatibility, and exposing problems that the (often overworked and underpowered) SQA team simply isn't going to catch (esp if we're talking a port to a system that isn't native to the dev)
I would expect, like other products, there to be technical folks who use your products perfectly willing to run beta SW and so equipped to run on a test platform so that danger to data or functionality of a primary working system is not compromised
I realize that marketing tends to want to use Betas as a "buzz generator" and that the "product image" tends to be more of the "monolithic/automagic it just works" tenor, but I think we all realize that it is still a technical product and that even the sleekest automobile has an engine under the aerodynamic hood and I honestly don't see running betas (probably closed) as being counter to this. Instead it would show the development as responsve and dilligent.

    You're right. It's a joke.
I enable 24bit crystalizer and cmss-3dsurround/cmss-3dheadphone and encode in wma format. The superrip sound come out hollow and dull compare to a normal rip wma/mp3 format. Any creative representati've can reply to this?
Why would you like to add permanent effects to your music files?

  • Best settings for surround sou

Hey everyone! What do you think are the best settings for a surround sound gaming setup with the X-Fi ExtremeMusic card? At the moment I have CMSS-3D on, with Stereo Surround and the Stereo Envelopment turned to Surround at the max. Is there any better way of having the settings for surround sound for gaming? Also, the 24bit Crystalizer is at 50%, is that ok? Thanks in advance for the replies!

I like using Stereo Surround to 50% and rock equalizer, with Crystalizer to the max

  • PCI Express X-fi Xtreme Audio - missing functions - Windows 7 64-bit

Trying to restore functionality to this card in Windows 7 64-bit. After i installed the card and the latest beta drivers from Creative, there seems to be no Gamer Mode option and in games such as Battlefield 242 and Bioshock i cannot select EAX options. All i can use is Entertainment mode. Also the Crystalizer doesn't make things clearer - all it does is make my songs go quiet/loud/quiet/loud/quiet/loud.
    Any ideas folks?

  • Superrip is a j

I just try out the superrip function on a few songs and I was surprised by the audio quality which is horrible. To comfirm my doubt, I try normal ripping using the creative mediasource and the normal 28kbps ripped wma sounds even much better than those superriped file. I seriously hope this superrip function is still bugged as in 'beta' stage, and there will be a patch to fix this, else I will be very disappointed with creative.

  • File sizes on x

i'm planning on getting the extreme music when the shops get stock of them. the question is. what i'm looking for is what is the file size on average for 4mb file, using super-rip mode would be, when converted into a ( .wav ) file. i would be grateful for any help, thanks in advance.
    john

    John,
Not too sure what you mean by on a average for 4MB file. The actual file size for super-rip depend greatly on the type for setting/enhancement you have set for it. For example, I try to rip an audio track of 4min 3seconds using 24bit crystalizer at high setting, CMSS3D-Surround mode, Wav format - 96khz, 5., 24bit. The file size for this audio track in wav is a whopping 447MB.

  • Sound doesn't work! SB Audigy SE 24bit, vista 32bit (pc 64 b

    Dear reader,
I bought a new pc last week with a Sound Blaster Audigy card (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24bit). After 00 different approaches, my sound still does not work. Nothing at all.
I have installed all the drivers via windows update, the cd and automatic update from Creative itself and disabled the integrated audio in the bios. I got Windows Vista 32 bit (but my pc is a 64 bit...).
After quite some hopeless tries I thought I'd be helpful to let my device manager search for new updates, but somehow I have the feeling my cd-version has been replaced with an older version of the drivers, since right-click SB Audigy in the device manager (2nd Tab, drivers? Got a dutch pc) displays a driverversion of 5.2..200.
Please aid me, I really want my SB Audigy to work now, and I don't want to work with the integrated sound of my pc (Realtek). My pc does recognize the SB Audigy card, but I think I'm missing a simple point somewhere.
Oh btw, I got a 2. speakerset (Logitech Z4, with a cable with 2 green plugs and a subwoofer). And I am not sure where I should plug it into, since I got 6 "dots" in the back of my pc I can put it in to. 2 greens, 2 pink ones, a blue and a black. I suppose I need to plug it into a green one, but which one? The one on the top or the lower one?
If you help me, I can tell you with trust you are my hero! It frustrates me alot.
    Thanks in advance!

to check your sound card whether it is working properly or not, go to device manager, and double-click "Sound, video and game controllers". you should see your sound card being listed w/o an odd icon (either a cross or a exclamation mark) if it is working properly.

you should connect your speakers to the green connector on the pci bracket (i.e. your sound card), not the green connector on the motherboard I/O (i.e. w/ mouse, keyboard, serial, usb, etc...)

  • Vista/Win7 Bit-Matched Playback over SPDIF (and Crystalizer)

I have an SB XFi XtremeMusic and use it for my Microsoft Media Center all the way from XP MCE, Vista and now Windows 7 Ultimate (which by the way is robust, pretty mature with most (not all) issues sorted).
. I want to achei've automatic bitperfect output over SPDIF, the 'Bit-Matched Playback' in Audio Creation Mode option is there in both Vista + Win7. IE When playing music 44.k, TV/Videos 48K without using ASIO or WASAPI as Media Center does not support. However the 'Bit-Matched Playback' option appears to do nothing to the output other than disable the Crystalizer option (which doesn't work anyway over SPDIF), it always remains on the default format selected on the audio endpoint properties. Why is the option presented if it doesn't work? I understand in great detail the big differences in the XP/Vista+Win7 audio architecture and know dynamic sample rate switching worked on XP with some cards.
    2. Also on a completely different tact why do none of the enhancements (mainly Crystalizer) not work on SPDIF if default Windows audio endpoint? (I know this is completely contrary to point above/audiophiles).
Really if neither of the above two points can work or be addressed then having an expensi've XFi card for SPDIF output is pointless as give no benefit over onboard SPDIF.

In Windows and in the Creative Audio Console i ve selected 5. Audio.
When i play MP3s in winamp i have no 5.!! I Only hear the sound in in the center and left / right front box.
    Whats the Problem here
When i make the soundtest (5.) in vista everything is okay.
    Problem 2:
I want spdif ac3 passthrough. I have an external AV Reciever conneted through SPDIF.
When i play an DVD on my computer, i want ac3 passthrough over spdif.
But the card only makes Stereo over spdif
When i make the SPDIF soundtest - the ac3 and the DTS test iss okay here.
can you tell me whats wrang here
    Problem 3:
How can i enable CMSS 2 I only see CMMS in creative audio console!
When i Put the stereo fokus in CMMS the the boxes behind me.. it hase no effekt!! can put this regulator to the left ore to the right side and nothing happend
Problem It's the 2.2.0002 drivers. The 2.5.0002 ones are better, but Creative never released an installer for Audigy series.... Problem 2Windows Vista 64bit doesn't support SPDIF pass through. There's a chance it might work with the "dell driver trick" but the driver release notes clearly state it's not supported. Problem 3It's the 2.2.0002 drivers. The 2.5.0002 ones are no better. CMSS 3D effect only at the moment.Hope this helps

  • SoundBlaster Live! 24bit & - defective line-in function

3 of my Li've! 24bit cards had their Line-IN function terminate after about an hour of use. ? Another card never had a working line-in function. The output is not affected. The operating system is WinXP SP3. Cards work flawlessly in output mode. I had never tried to use the line-in function before now.
I checked all connections & confirmed correct signal from my tape deck entering card. Everything works OK with on a computer utilizing another brand card.
The problem has occurred on PCs with different motherboards. Everything looks OK in the software.
I realize others have posted the same problem. I cannot find a posted solution. I would really like to find a fix or workaround. .
I STUMBLED UPON THIS SOLUTION:? THE ORIGIN OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT WIN XP SCRAMBLES THE LIVE!24 SOUNDCARD SETTINGS WHENEVER YOU REBOOT.
Go to the "Sounds and Audio Devices" section of Control Panel & click on the "Audio"? tab. Then change the recording settings from line-in to microphone. Next go to the "Playback" section & see that XP reset your settings & checked the mute box at line-in so? uncheck that box and the normal line-in function resumes? working. I don't know why this works but it has now worked on 3 different PCs including one with a Dell version of the Li've!24 card. You need to to this every time you reboot if you want to use the line-in function.
