  • Audio Console Problem - Help Need

    Hey everyone.
I'm having a problem here with my creative audio console. I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Value series. I've been using this card for about month now and everything has been working great. I've been using the latest beta drivers since i got the card and i've had no problems. I'm using the latest audio console too and it's great. I need the console for the Advanced EQ settings.
The problem is: I went into the console to change the EQ to 'rock' but when i accessed the 'EAX' tab, it was all blank, no settings, nothing. If i go to the 'speakers' tab, there is nothing to choose from also. Anyone got any idea what the problem is?
Audio works fine, just not these features.
I have had this problem occasionally before, but after a restart of windows, everything re-appears again. This time nothing is coming back after a restart.
I've tried re-installing the drivers and console, but nothing works.
Any help would be very greatly appreciated. I do love my Advanced EQ.
Here is a few screenshots of what the console looks like:

Also make sure to delete install sheild and delete C:\Program Files\Creative folder .
Use driver cleaner after you uninstall drivers also, this is to remove all reg keys.
In C:\Program Files folder you should have an installshield folder (hidden) in there are GUID named folders.
Go through them all and any that have a reference to creative, delete the folder.

Then update you driver. Do not uninstall the drivers though, just over right them and make sure to say yes to over right shared driver files.
NOTE: When you update media source apps, use the auto updater.
Before you do this though, as a test go to windows control panel and you should have audio HQ in here, open it and see if you can change EAX settings in here. If you can, then its just a bad install of media source ap

  • Sb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

  • Audio console fre

    Hi
I've a new X-Fi Extreme Audio set on WinXP SP2 which is a cause repeated problems.
I installed it with XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0077 driver and it worked fine for a month.
following a hard restart caused by a game it stopped responding and gave a "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)" in the device status window.
this baffled me for some time and was finally solved by installing XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0078 driver (I've no idea why but it did).
the card is set to 5. speakers and I'm using 5. headphones which works fine.
this morning I tried plugging a microphone in then tried opening the audio console which resulted in either freezes windows or causes an immediate restart.
I'd appreciate some advice as I'm out of ideas at the moment.Message Edited by LazyMonk on 0-26-20070:53 AM

  • X-fi Xtrememusic doesn't have the bottoms of DD and DTS in the audio console

    Hellow every body!....
I have a little problem with the Creative X-fi Xtrememusic OEM that I bought...:
) The issue is that when the card is instaled withthe drivers, I notice that the windows detect the sound card as a X-fi audio, and not with the name of x-fi xtreme music.... this is normal? all the x-fi are detected as a x-fi audio?... Because this card that I have, is the xtrememusic sure.... because the audio is blue and its diferent like the sound card that I have...
    2) Thats is the light problem.... Now the heavy xD: After installed the sound card I notice that in the audio console there is NO bottoms of the options "DD and DTS"... this sections are missing...
I try to uninstall the cd drivers... download the last drivers of this page... and when the last drivers are installed... there is no audio console and nothing.... only the driver and a old audio console... (not the with moder audio console that shows up in the current x-fi)
    - Know I format my PC and I installed all again.... and the same problems shows up...
I have the windows xp ue v7....
Any how can help me? I don't know what to do... I try anything and nothing works...

when did you purchase this xtrememusic? if I don't remember wrongly.... the newer refresh doesn't have dd and dts decoding anymore and have to use the included powerdvd to do it. only the older refresh of xtrememusic include dd/dts decoding via creative driver. furthermore yours is an oem version....it may also have different function/feature. you can try searching the CD and see if there is any folder by the name of "PDVD" or something?with?"dvd",?can't?really?remember?the?ex act?name... if?the?CD?you?have?have?this?folder,?then?you?won' t?have?the?ddd/dts?function?in?the?audio?console.

  • Audio configuration problem in iTunes

I am running iTunes 7.1.1.5 (WinXP). When opening iTunes, I get an error message that there "are problems with your audio configuration." In iTunes support, I followed instructions to remove Quicktime then reinstall as standalone (without iTunes). Same problem persists. I will add that same problem occurred about a month ago, but that time the same steps of removing Quicktime, then reinstalling as standalone corrected the problem. Unfortunately, it recurred.

  • X-Fi XtremeMusic installation, Audio Console probl

Shortly after learning I'd been fooled into buying a rebranded Audigy card instead of a real X-Fi, I picked up an X-Fi XtremeMusic online. Immediately after installing it the problems hit me from every direction. The PCI slot I had installed it in absolutely refused to recognize it - and this was the exact same slot my previous "Xtreme Audio" had occupied! Regardless, I switched up the PCI slot after reading dozens of forum posts both here and elsewhere and found that my card was immediately seen by the system... or so I thought. When I tried again to install the software, I was hit with the exact same error message as before "Setup is unable to detect a supported device on your system." Back again to the forums. After learning more, I wondered if it would be a driver issue, and found the Web Update 4. I installed this, and lo and behold I got sound and an incredibly basic version of the Audio Console. No nice graphics (think Win98 style), no graphic equalizer, just a series of mundane, and to be honest, quite useless tabs like something straight out of the system device manager. I thought I might be able to get back the Audio Console like I had with the NotX-Fi I was running before by attempting to use the installation disc again, and I was hit with the Exact. Same. Error.
How is it possible for me to have the surround sound and other features from my card without being able to complete an installation from the disc? How is my system not aware of the X-Fi when I'm clearly getting good sound out of it's Lastly, does anyone know if I can get the -real- version of the X-Fi XtremeMusic Audio Console instead of the pitiful tab based garbage I'm stuck with at the moment? Thanks in advance.

I am having a similar problem, I replaced my audigy 2 platinum card with the xfi extrememusic but now I try to open "audio console" but get a message stating audio device supported by this application is not detected. Any ideas on a fix? System specs follow

  • X-Fi Audio Console won't save chan

shame on me for buying an immature Creative product, but i got the XtremeMusic edition of this card. While it sounds amaizing the software continues Creative Lab's outstanding tradition of being buggy and horrible. I could probably get by without returning this product but....
the audio console does not retain my settings when i reboot.
am i the only one suffering this problem? as every time the PC restarts it defaults all the audio console settings.
I did download and install the SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0004.exe update from the support page.
    thx in advance
*ps, the bold is not intended to be shouting, but to assist all those speed readers out there

Mine hasn't been resetting....so far. I know mines a Fatalty but sw wise it should be same for all the cards. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with option for syncing with control panel. I have that option unchecked in the creative mixer speakers tab. Maybe try disabling it if its currently enabled and see if that stops the resetting. No idea if it will help but thats the only thing I can think of, can't hurt to at least give it a shot.
    Hope it helps

  • X-Fi 2.11: Audio Console still doesn't wo

The audio console still doesn't work for me in the new version of the drivers. I get sound no problem, but when I try to open the Creative Audio Console I get the following error:
"The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will now exit."
I have a X-Fi FPS...does the Audio Console not support this line of X-Fi's? I noticed on the driver download page that the FPS was curiously missing from the list of X-Fi cards that you could choose from. Is Creative dropping support for the X-Fi FPS?

Ok...nevermind...after a driver roll-back and a few Blue Screens of Death later, I finally got the console to work...this is the first time I have got it to work ever with any of the drivers.

  • When Audio Console launched, Unable to find audio device error message comes

When I launch audio console, I get an error message saying:
"Unable to find audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with its driver. This application will be closed."
This can't be right because my soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum card is installed, its working, I can hear things etc.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the audio console software package from creative and that fixed the problem for a very short while and it is now reoccurring.
I've had this same setup for several years with no issues, now all of a sudden, this is happening.
Anyone out there had similar challenges?
Thanks for looking!Message Edited by dgmtoronto on 07-22-200703:33 PM

Most probably you don't have passed the correct root= option to the kernel so that the kernel cannot, as it says, find its root device. Read the wiki page about refind in order to know how to configure it (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/REFInd). Refind as no fully automatic configuration like grub.

  • X-Fi Elite PRO and Vista: dropouts and no sound. Only Changing mode in Audio-Console helps

Hi... Please help me. I have an X-Fi Elite Pro and I am experiencing a very strange problem in Vista 32. Before using Vista, I had no problems at all in XP. Sometimes when I listen to the music (Winamp) and then after listening the music start watching movie, the sound dissappears. I mean the EQ of Winamp freezes and there is no sound at all
!!! Only if I switch audio-console (in Configuration menu) to Games mode (or an other one) and back, the sound comes back... Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. It is very strange. Please, do you know a solution for that?!

In no way a 300W Power Supply has enough power for all your stuff.
2 HDD's, a power-hungry Pentium, a xfi card, dvd burner and many other stuff ...
Problems like this can happen then if your power supply has not enough power to handle all this stuff.
Get a better powersupply that can handle your stuff and I am sure it will work again. In a few cases its also possible that YOU damage your hardware on this way, if it can not get enough stable power, it might mess up your hardware. I also already blowed up a harddisk one day because I have connected too much stuff to one cable. I had 3 HDD's, Mainboard, Lights, Fans and DVD connected to one single cable. All devices there did not get enough power, harddisks made crazy sounds (on/off/on/off very fast) and after that one of my HDDs was bad.
But no ... you can't blame anyone for this. In 99% a bad power supply should not damagae your hardware, it will just make sure it does not work anymore. Since you installed that hardware, YOU are responsible for this. If a hardware-dealer would have to install this card for you, it would be his fault, but now its yours.
BTW: Why do you expect that a 300W suppy is enough!? I mean really ... think about it! See what todays PS can do, take a look how much your pentium already needs ... There are at least 00W gone for your CPU, another 00 for your Videocard and just 00 left for ALLLL the other devices like your harddisks (20-30W each one), DVD, mainboard, soundcard ... In no way this will be enough. You must have missed the last 5 years ...
BTW: I don't think that the software audio console would not work when not having connected the y-power cable. I forget that cable too one time. My console did still work, just in games I got some strange problems a lot of times (no more sound for -2 minutes, crackling and other poroblems) which got solved after I plugged in the power-cable to soundcard.Message Edited by Homey-GER on 0-7-200705:42 AM

  • SB Xfi Xtremegamer...no sound, Audio Console doesnt detect audio devi

I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP MC edition 2005.
Now, among many other problems, Creative Audio Console won't start, saying it cannot find the audio device. I am getting no sound at all. Add Hardware says my card is installed and working properly. So? go to device manager, and there is an exclamation point next to Game Port for Creative and it says "this device cannot start" with a " Code 0".
I downloaded the latest Creative drivers when I did the install of XP because I dont have the original CD from the card which I bought about 6 months ago. The card worked fine until I did the fresh XP install and applied the latest drivers.
    Any advice would be appreciated

Hmm, well, what's showing up in your Control Panel. There should be an Audio Console in there. Also, go to your add/remove programs. Is? anything creative showing up there? The? console that's included with the drivers is not the complete? console, it's very basic and not so great. Also, look at what card that console is showing up as. It's kind of an off-white rectangular box and will have tabs something like:
Device Information? Mode? Speakers? EAX Effects CMSS-3D Headphone Detection Restore Defaults?
If you're trying to access this? minimal console from your taskbar? there's a good chance you will get an error. I had it happen. The only way to access it is to go through the Control Panel.
I sent my computer in for a rebuild, they put an extrememusic in but did not install the software - just the drivers. An icon was in my taskbar, but I couldn't access it from there. I had to go in through the Control Panel. ? I have an XtremeGamer. In my control panel/Audio Console there it says SB X-Fi[9800] which even Creative support says is wrong, but no one has been able to fix it - not Creative, not the techs from the computer company. And in trying to get all the drivers/software uninstalled, it's either corrupted or disabled other programs that have nothing to do with Creative. I swear, their stuff is the AOL of soundcards. Leaves crap everywhere that's close to impossible to remove.
Also, check your DirectX version since you have done a reinstall. I'm grasping at straws here trying to think of what else could be the problem.
The only other suggestion I can make is to try contacting customer support and see if you can get a replacement installation CD. They really should have ALL the components needed for installing a card here on the site. CDs do get lost, they get scratched, broken, whatever.
    http://us.creative.com/support/custsup/welcomeds.asp that's Creative's Customer support page.

  • Trouble with Audio Console "Unable to find Audio device.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and run XP Pro. Recently lost my install CD when moving back to school (crap...)

At this point I am trying to install Audio Console.
I have downloaded and installed Audio Console from creative's website and then restarted my computer. Upon trying to launch the program the following message appears in a pop up:
"Unable to find Audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with it's driver. This application will be closed."
I have checked 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the control panel and it has "SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [B400]" for all selected audio devices.
What's the problem here? Has anyone encountered this problem before?
The Audigy 2 ZS Platinum is listed as compatible with the Audio Console software.

  • Audio console undetected err

Hello. I've had some trouble when trying to access the audio console for my soundblaster audigy 4. The other consoles work, yet when I click the 'audio console' icon I get the error 'Unable to find audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with it's driver. This application will be closed' Now I've tried reinstalling this particular piece of software and nothing seems to work. I've sifted through the posts and found nothing of any great help. I need input.
    Thanks,
    Virulence

I have the same problem. I ran the diagnostics and all but the hardware detect failed (odd, considering the console says it cant detect it...) sound still works, just nothing else.
