• I wanted to know whether i can diffuse music to the bluetooth only speakers from a airport extreme-connected hard drive through my mac?

I'm interested in the new soundlink mini Bose wireless speakers that function only via bluetooth. I wanted to diffuse music to them from an airport extreme connected hard drive through my macbook air. I don't want to stoc music on my mac given the limited flash drive and don't want to go though wires again. Is that possible? Also I can't go with airport express since those speakers don't have the airplay function.
Thanks a lot for your help or ideas

• Extreme Music - Problems with Driver and Installation

Hi guys,
?After the my computer has given up it's life on the last friday, I bought a new one and wanted yesterday to install everything like OS, driver and so on.
I started the install of the driver(which is the version from the creative website , released in july 2009) for my soundcard, the X-FI Extreme Music and when the information was given, that the Windows drivers will be updated and it will take some minutes, something happend:
At my first try a bluescreen appered. You can imagine, that I was shocked to see a bluescreen on my new pc after an hour.
I run CCleaner to remove some rests of the "maybe installed" driver and started it again. There was no bluescreen, but the mouse freezes and the setup does nothing anymore. I can close it with may keyboard, but the driver wasn't installed.
After a new clean up with CCleaner I tried it again. I put out my cable of the mouse , so maybe this was the problem(ofc, WHY is there a problem with USB and PCI Cards ?). The installations works, no hang up or freezes. After a restart nothing happend. No sound. I looked at the hardware manager(do not know, whether it is the correct word, I'm german and have a german windows ) of windows and at audio, video and gamecontroller, there is a warning of not working driver.
I remember, that on my old system the driver was titled something like
X-FI Audio[800] or something like that.
But here it was named with?
X-FI Processor WDM
I thing the system is installing the wrong driver.
I looked at some forums , find the hint to change the PCI slot. I did it, but nothing changed.
So, here are some information of my system configuration, maybe someone can help.
Old system(where the soundcard works fine with no problems):
- Athlon X2 4200+(socket was the "old" 939)
- Asus A8N-E
- DDR 400 RAM, 2GB
- Windows XP Professional(32 Bit) with SP3
New System:
- Phenom II X4 80(quadcore)
- Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P
- DDR3 333 RAM , 4GB
- same OS as used in the old configuration
Ofc all chipdriver were installed and seems to work fine.
The onboard soundchip is disabled too.
Hope for help ^^

• X-FI Extreme Music Driv

Hey all,
I find it difficult to believe that since the 22/2/06 that there hasnt been any driver updates for the Extreme Music!? Or is the infact a truth? So im taking it that these drivers support Battlefield 242 etc etc and I wont run into any issues when my turns up today?

Ok let me explain;
These problems happens almost 3 years. When I installed first, working good. But when you release new drivers-softwares problems started. I did try every driver, but sometimes can't find soundcard or the other problems that I wrote. And last time; I did download driver sweeper. I did remove everything, than opened safe mode, removed everything about creative with Driver Sweper. Than opened XP again and with Advanced System Optimize, I did clean everything...
Anyway installed firstly SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_8_003.exe from web site (and restarted PC), than installed softwares from original CD.
nothing changed. I've the same problems. If I install your last driver (SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_8_005.exe)
can't find soundcard.
soundcard is working. It can encode dolby & dts files. But headphone detection is not working. I have to change manually - 5. to Headphone. I did search on google, and couldn't find anything to solve this problem. And looks I'm not alone with this problem. Mono wav files plays as an ac3 file.
So what is the problem with drivers. Why alyways have problems with new drivers. What is the best method to install, I did try everything. Also changed PCI slot.
And a suggestion; you have to release a new software to remove everthing about soundcard (drivers-softwares). May be a clenaer.

• Which driver for Extreme Music ???

I have the X-fi Extreme Music card and like others are having some driver related issues. I had tried to upgrade to the latest driver and really had trouble. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times from the CD and website. Current installed driver is version 6.0..304 dated 2/22/2008. This is not the driver that?is on the CD (bought the card over a year ago)?but then doesn't appear to be the latest driver either that was released in March. I reloaded so many times I'm not exactly sure where this driver came from. Does anyone know? Having the issue of both front and rear channels coming through the front speakers (5. speakers)?and also the issue with the volume starting out in the max position. What seems to be the driver version that is working best with these cards?Message Edited by southernfried64 on 03-24-2008 2:5 AM

-Asus P5WDH Deluxe
-X-Fi Extreme Music
Today i tried to install the Windows 7 drivers from the Creative support side, both the newest and the Beta one.
But for both, when Setup is saying "Installing the new drivers...please wait a few (!) minutes" (or something like that), the system crashes, i can't even move the mouse let alone using "Alt+Tab". I also tried waiting for hours(!!) but nothing happend.
Everytime i started the setup as "Admin" and i also tryied "Vista compatibility mode" once in a while, both didn't work...
Can someone help?

= Hi,? first of all thanks, but Win 7 DOES install your drivers but then, the sound card still is not recognized...like you can see here:

I get an error message when I install windows vista 32bits drivers for my X-Fi Extreme Music... it says, error while installing, can't find a compatible product on your system, verify if it has been corectly installed ... BUT INSTALLING I JUST WHAT I WANNA DO ! WTF?
all other software for hardware management can see that my sound card is connected to my mother board, so i don't understand why the driver installer can't see it too and install the drivers ...
Could someone give me a tip to help me to install my drivers please?
i got windows vista 32bits build 6000 , X-Fi Extreme Music, 2048 RAM, Pentium4 3.6ghz 250 go hdd space ...
I'm waiting for some cool answers, thanks ! ...

You are wrong. The 2.3 are for extreme music, you are thinking about extreme audio. Creative have really made a blunder with these names, not strange many are having problems. Propably trying to install extreme audio drivers on extreme music, and the other way around!?
Check that you have the right drivers, if you do. Try the trick where you unpack the driver exe file, so you get all the files from the installer on to a folder of youre choosing. Then use the "Creative Update Utility" popup to install/force the drivers to install. If you dont know what im talking about, search the forums, its been explained many times here.

• Sound only plays in Front left speak on Windows 7 with Xfi Extreme Music??

I have Xfi Extreme Music (SB0640). In installed the lastes drivers for windows 7 (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.creative.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/#]Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver 2.8.003 ), When I run a speaker test all 6 speakers work, however when I use media player, media center etc. Only the front left speaker works.
Do I need to install creative Alchemy?
Console Launchers does not load on boot
Any asistance will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

NRe: Sound only plays in Front left speak on Windows 7 with Xfi Extreme Music? You will need to have the Creative Console Launcher which will let you have CMSS-3d or Creative Multichannel Surround Sound. You can find the newest version for your card here......
<a rel="nofollow" href="http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=094"]http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=094
Honestly though, dont bother with just that. Get Daniel K.'s X-FI support pack which is updated with the newest drivers and applications for your card. Plus, he tweaked those with fixes for installation/integration? under operating systems other than XP.
That can be found here.......
<a rel="nofollow" href="http://rapidshare.com/files/234436040/XFI_SupportPack_2_0.exe"]http://rapidshare.com/files/234436040/XFI_SupportPack_2_0.exe
And the link is still good.

• How best to *BATCH* process MP3s for sound improvement using X-Fi extreme Music.

I have a shiny new X-Fi extreme music.
Does anyone have ideas on the best way to *batch* process a large selection of (16 bit 44.1) MP3 files?
A lot is made, in the X-Fi advertising, on the varied abilities to improve the sound of MP3 files. I have a large selection of play-a-long MP3s generated from old sources, and additionally converted to single channel mono. (i.e. I have extracted the LEFT channel and created a mono MP3 from that).
I would like to improve the sound of these file. I use them for play-a-long, so tonal closeness to the original is *not* important. I just want to be sure I can hear the basist (and drummer) OK - i.e. I want to emphasize their sound and disregard the frequencies in the human-voice range.
Sometime, I play these files using the PC equipped with the X-Fi extreme, but sometimes on my MP3 player.
Does creative supply SW to achieve this batch processing, or does anybody know of third party SW that can help. Their seems to be a lot of sound improvement SW out there, but it is targeted towards dealing with LP vinyl problems, and usually doesn't do batch very well.
Thanks for your consideration,
Matt

• SB X-Fi Extreme music problems, enlighten me please!

Hello to all! I'm a Creative sound cards user since 90's. Satisfied yes,but i would ask for a little help over here now.
I have the extreme music pci, not much of a new card i know, but i like the way it sounds through my marantz av amplifier very much. I have used that card with my previous 2 pcs without any issues. Last year i bought an asus p7h55d-m evo motherboard, intel core i5 66 dual core cpu, 2 corsair memory (i can't recall the model right now) sticks each one of 2 gb ram, amd 5770 with GB graphics card, TB WD 00fals hard disk dri've and put them together in Thermaltake HTPC case with a vfd display (imon). I have other devices too but i don't know if it would do any difference to mention.
Motherboard has onboard integrated sound chipset which is disabled (though it should not be a problem enabled), graphics card too (through hdmi). I have ONLY PCI slot where i installed the extreme music. My problem is that even if the latest creative driver for win7 64 bit is succesfully installed and everything looks just fine (no conflicts, resources are ok) i here a very low volume sound output from my speakers. I need to raise the volume to 80% to barely listen to what's played from the x-fi. Before some months the first time i installed the card it worked. Looks like something changed in win7 and doesn't let the card to function correctly. I need your help here as this might be my last chance to figure out the problem before i quit trying with that card. I may buy a new model but i'm not sure what's wrong and if the new one will work.

Maybe you plugged the cables too slacky, reconnect the cables that connect the hardware. Alternati'vely click on the volume in the windows tasklist on the right and select the mixer ... raise everything there.. The output should be enormeus. (sorry for my bad english)
too late but better than nothing.

• X-Fi Extreme Music - How do you set ASIO to 16/44?

The X-Fi Extreme Music specifications state that it will do ASIO drivers at 16/44. I selected ASIO as the driver in my recording software (n-Track) and tried recording. I got a 24/44 resulting wave file. In n-Track, there is a setting to "Force 16-bit" so I tried that and it crashed n-Track. Someone at the n-Track user forum said I have to select the Creative 16-bit ASIO driver, but I only see one ASIO driver choice in devices. How do I get the X-Fi to do 16-bit ASIO at 44.1k?
Message Edited by vivona on 01-18-2006 09:26 PM

vivona wrote:
I was told in the nTrack forum to use the "ASIO 16-bit driver" from X-Fi. That was incorrect if I understand correctly that X-Fi only has a single ASIO driver and that driver runs at the sampling rate you select in "settings" under Audio Creation mode. The bit depth is not set within the X-Fi software, but rather, is set by the recording software. Am I correct in all this?
I checked n-Track and ASIO4ALL drivers on a different PC (Win2KPro) and I can record ASIO and get 16/44. That being the case, it appears that n-Track can do 16/44 with ASIO, but has a conflict with the X-Fi ASIO drivers when attempting 16-bit. Is that the likely case here?
Asio4All is not a true (native) ASIO driver, but operates through WDM/KS functions --> you get the same "resolutions" / "have same limitations" you would get with WDM/KS drivers.
Bit-depth and SR can normally been set inside the recording software. I do ot know the enviroment and logic of n-Track, so that's why I pointed you to try some other (more pro) software, so you can 'better' find the way for these settings.

• X-fi extreme music oem thx cons

i have an x-fi extreme music oem card that came with an installer disk that had the drivers and thx console for vista. when i installed xp the installer disk tells me that its the wrong os. can anyone tell me where to find the correct xp installer disk for the oem SB0770 card? i have installed the correct drivers for it but the drivers did not come with the thx console. i could really use it unless anyone can tell me how to do bass redirection and subwoofer db-gain without it.

did you tried this 'trick' already?
Modded file for X-Fi installer cd for HP and other X-Fi OEM cards
http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=9940
Taken from Reggie's post:
"<i>Couldnt find any info on this ,so i spent some time figuring this out myself.
HP OEM cards will not install with the retail x-fi cd so here is a modded file with extra device id's that makes it work, you may find other oem cards that wouldnt work before will work as there where 4 extra device id's i found in the web update driver to make this possible.
You need to obtain the x-fi installer cd and then grab that file, instructions are included</i>"

• ATI Radeon 3870 HD Video/X-Fi extreme Music Issu

Here is a new problem that so far no one has any ideas about.
Got a new Radeon 3870 HD, and it works great, BUT ever since i intalled this card i can not run 5. speaker configuration because all i get is real bad noise and distortion, sometimes the sound cutting out all together. I have tried both the vid card in both PCIe slots and X-FI in different PCI Slots but that didnt help, i have the latest driver version for everything on my system. It works fine in 2 speaker mode and 4 speaker mode. Switched to onboard sound and i have no problems running 5..... This video card also has a realtek HD audio chip on it to output sound through an HDMI cable. Im thinking htere is some sort of conflict between the HD Audio drivers and the X-Fi drivers causing this problem. Disabling this HD audio on the Vid card in device manager helps the problem a little bit, but does not fix it. I have even made sure that the X_Fi was set as default audio device.
Here is my basic system configuration:
Vista Ultimate 64bit, 3 GB RAM, Radeon 3870 HD Video, X-Fi extreme music, Nforce 4 x6 MoBo.
Im thinking its a low level driver issue causing problems with the onboard HD audio on the vid card.

hi i had a simular peoblem with the xfi music, and the hd 3870. i could not get my xfi to work at all, in device manager it kept saying error code 0 . in device manager there was a hd audio that i could not uninstall to save my life i thought it was the on board audio for the motherboard. but after i read your email it clicked, i uninstalled the ati drivers and rebooted the machine and bam the xfi started working, then installed the ati drivers, and i think it fixed it. i still get some strange noise sometimes, and i think it is because of the hd audio, i wish their was a way to uninstall it , if you do it in divice manager, it just comes back .
You've got do disable your onboard sound in your bios.

• This X-FI Extreme Music Card is Crap!!

&This X-FI Extreme Music Card is Crap!!Y I am totally fed up with this card AND Creative Labs!! I have tried every single way possible to install this software without success. I have installed and uninstalled the software 20 times, each time I install it gives me a different result...How is that possible? I've installed in regular mode, safe mode, standing on one leg, etc. This thing has not worked right EVER!!! Support is non-existent unless you try the forums....so Creative expects us to solve problems for them? I installed the automatic update feature at their request, updated everything, and then went to the Creative website and found out the update feature doesn't even work for Vista! WTF?!? I had to BUY the software CD for Vista from Creative and THAT didn't work right. THEY ALL HAVE TO BE ON DRUGS!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PIECE OF HARDWARE I HAVE EVER PURCHASED!

That's right, I did buy it from Dell, BUT, I did some checking and the only thing Dell did was include a audio cable that would make it work in one of their systems....No mod to the board. Dell told me to contact Creative for an RMA. Ceati've said 'Sorry, we can't do that because the card could've been altered, BUT, we'll be happy to sell you another one!" So I'm stuck with it. I? installed running XP on my computer but never had it working right (continual errors, mixer would not lauch, etc.) and then I upgraded to Vista. I went to the Ceati've website to find drivers and found out I had to buy a CD for $0. OK. I get the disk and install...uninstall, try safe mode, try normal mode again, get it to work but no spidf or coax. I can't change my speakers to 5. because it's stuck on 2. ( except one time I installed and it showed 5. in game mode but 2. in the other two modes). Tried taking out all but GB of RAM. I tried every concievable way to get a good install with no luck. My experiences with this card is not unique. I have found other people having the exact same problems with this card and Vista. What I don't understand is why every time I uninstall and re-install the software it does something different ( some features install one time, the next install those don't but others do). I tried Driver Sweeper...no go. THIS IS WHY I'M PI*@ED OFF! If anyone can think of something to do I am more than willing to try it. Am I just a dumb *** or [email protected]
