X-Fi Extrememusic center,front speaker prob

So I just got my X-Fi Extrememusic and installed the newest driver for it from creative's website. I didn't use the CD that came with it becouse it basicly just froze when i started it up(I'm using Vista 32bit) My computer found the sound card and everything went well, so far.
So i had the usuall RC97 soundcard before were all the speakers worked(5. system)
And yes, i uninstalled the drivers for the RC97 card before i installed the vista driver for the X-fi card.
But now that I've installed my new audio card the only speakers that seems to work is the rear when I play music. Even tho, when i test it at the speaker setup in vista the rear and the front speaker are making sound. The center and the sub tho, is not making any sound when i test them. Rare thing is tho, that the sub is working when i play music. The front is not tho.
Here comes the very odd part, when i change it to game mode, all the speakers are making sound on the sound setup in vista, not in the media players tho. But when i switch it to entertainment mode the sub and center is not making any sound on the sound setup.
Problem is tho, simply put, only speakers currently working are the rear and the bass.
How do i fix this? I've checked the set-up and cables, everything is right.

I had the same problem before downloading a newer version of the creative control launcher. I was told to download the newer version in the creative sound blaster downloads menu. Choose your sound card then choose download application. In the applications menu choose creative control launcher and it will un-install the older version and re-install the newer one. This was my fix but it seems somethings work for some and not for others so keep posting.

  • PPC Mac G4-Front Speaker Humming Noise

Yesterday I turned the CPU on as usual and then I started to hear a "buzz humming noise" coming out from the front speaker. I disconnected all my external devices, fix the permissions, Zap the Pram and the buzz continued for the entire day and through the night. I thought the front speaker had give up on me so I booked at the Genius Bar to replace it this morning. Shut down the CPU last night. Turned it back on this morning and the "buzz humming noise" totally disappear, vanish! I canceled my reservation at the "Genius Bar" but the whole issue got me a little concerned as to how that happened and then all of the sudden it vanished. That makes me think of a spyware or a security issue if anyone can provoke such a thing from any external meanings. Anyone have any thoughts on this? ...Or experienced such an issue similar to this one? Thanks!

Hi everyone I just thought to come back here and answer to my own question since I found the bug that caused the humming noise on the CPU front speaker after all this time. It was that little Google Application called: "Google Notifier Appl." If you are having the same problem, delete that application. There is a bug there that interferes with the Computer Sound Board causing a terrible humming noise enough to annoy "da heck" of anyone. I Hope that helps!

  • How do you Turn off the front Speaker

    Hi everyone,
I hope this isn't too much of a stupid question since the answer is probably very simple, but I just cant seem to figure it out...
Does anyone know how to turn the music coming from the front speaker in the Mac Pro?
    Any advice is appreciated,
    Thanks

Thank you everyone, unfortunately I can't find the right setting under the control panel
Here's a strange variation to this that I'm wondering
    if anybody else has seen.
I plugged in some analog speakers via the line-out in
the back and set the output to the line-out.
Everything goes thru these speakers EXCEPT when I
play a quicktime movie. That is, double-click a QT
movie and it opens (although in the Finder, not
Quicktime Player) and the sound comes out the front
speaker -- which should only get the system sounds
(as I have it set in the sound preferences).
    Anybody else see this strangeness?

  • Creative SBS 4.1 450 Speakers - Left front speaker suddenly stopped working...

Had the speakers for about 6 months with no problems.
Now the left front speaker has no sound. Specifically, it appears the left front speaker jack isn't working. No matter which speaker I hook up to it, there's no sound.
All 3 other speakers/jacks are working correctly.
    Any ideas?

Try updating the cards drivers and bios then reset the bios to default after you do this and if you still continue having problems then try the system on another computer and if it works then then you know it's.
A: software setting for the other computer causing the channel not to work might want to uninstall and reinstall afterwards then update
B: your cards bad and may need a new one I recammend you audigy2 zs
    Any how Good Luck!

  • Make the app sounds come from the front speaker?

    Hello,
is there any way to make the sounds from the apps come from the front speaker? When I hold the phone sideways my hands block the lateral speakers, making it quite hard to hear, so if there was a way to change the speaker the apps use, that would be great!
I'm aware I can just change the way I hold the phone, but it's kinda uncomfortable otherwise...
    Thanks in advance! =D

If by front speaker you mean the earpiece, it doesn't produce enough volume to be clearly audible unless you hold it to your ear.

  • Red light left of front speaker

Today i got my IPhone 5...
and there's a little red light on the left of the front speaker. It's always lit when the display is on. After pressing the Power Button its off.
When you press again and the display is on, its lit again. I think its a red light from the sensor that switches the display off when hold the phone on the ear.
Is that normal? The Sensor is working normal, but theres always this red light.

You might find this is related to the "Raise to Speak" feature for Siri.
If enabled, and the phone screen is on, at any time, you can raise your phone to your ear to activate Siri. The proximity sensor is on all the time to enable this feature.
Check your settings for Siri and see if that makes a difference.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Cant hear rear or front speak

Ok i've had this problem for some time now. I thought my old sound card was fried because i couldnt hear anything behind me in games and everytime i would use a sound speaker test, the front right and left speaker would work but the rear ones and the one in the very front wouldn't. Ive tried fixing it myself by replacing the sound card with the Sound blaster Audigy SE and messing with the control panel setting and souncard setting but i cannot seem to get it to work. I have reformatted my computer so i dont have my old soundcard drivers on here. Does anyone else have a similar problem or know anything to help me?

$? bump again, its been a couple of months, anyone have any idea? Im really frustrated with this and just about to buy a new card thats not creative because I haven't had any support from them so far at all. Only additional information i have is I dont have this problem when i play with it under headphones instead of the other choices, I get very bad quality though when you play with the headphones option on 5. speakers.
    ?Things i have tried:
    *Drivers
    *Messing around with audio cords
*Toggled with ALL the audio options from creative and windows and have tried everything
    *CMSS 3D didnt work
Yet the rear speakers and front speaker still doesnt work

  • Rear sound goes to front speaker with DDL/DTS Connect (Xfi Platinum)

DRear sound goes to front speaker with DDL/DTS Connect (Xfi Platinum)T Hey there,
I just installed the newest modded driver from [url="http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/X-Fi-Auzen-2-20-0002-0-RC4-2-dated-5th-November-2009/td-p/540790">here[/url] and now I have the problem that when using DDL/DTS Connect (yes I have it activated!): the rear left channel gets output on my front left speaker, and the rear right goes to front right. My externaldecoder is correctly identifying the output stream as DD/DTS and the front speaker and subwoofer works fine. Also when using my Xbox 360 the sounds correctly get to the rear speakers, so this is likely not a problem of my decoder.
Anyone had a similar problem to this? Any idea why this happens?
    My system:
    Windows 7 x64
    Intel Core2Quad Q6600
    4 GB RAM
    nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

H I noticed this doesn't just happen with DDL/DTS Connect. The same behaviour happens when I connect my headphones to the plugs on the back of my computer. The rear plugs don't output anything, while the front plugs have "double" output.
I tried all kinds of different drivers, always removing the previous ones and restarting before trying a new one. Right now I'm with the official 2.8.003 X-Fi driver.
    Please, somebody help!

  • Special extension cable for one front speaker of T6100 System

    Hello,
i`ve bought an T600 5.1 speaker system recently.
Because i would like to use it as a surround system in my room (about 5x3 metres) i mounted it on the wall.
Now i`ve the problem that ALL cables are far to short (also the front speaker cables) to attach them to the subwoofer (without extension i would have to put the subwoofer on the desk to connect one front box correctly).
But the real problem is that one front speaker uses a different cable than the other one`s (a proprietary Creative cable, it has 9 pins and looks like PS/2 but is different) and i don`t know where to get it from because in normal shops you won`t get it.
The other boxes use a cinch cable so i know where to get them from.
I`ve already contacted Creative but they say that they are not able to send me such a cable because it`s not available for them as replacement and also not in their store.
I`ve also seen another thread here like this one but the problem hasn`t been solved there.
It would be very great if you can help me !
    Thank you very much !
    Greetings,
    Thomas

I have been emailing Creative about this issue (as I have been experiencing the same problem) for the last 3 weeks, and each time I got a response I was given a useless non-answer, or they would use it as an opportunity to plug their own products, or I was pointed towards paying for their customer service line. I became brain-meltingly irritated with this and resigned to calling the helpline number, but the telephone number provided on the website is about 400 digits long and looks like it's got an international dialling code in front of it- and it's not one I'm familiar with. I tried omitting individual digits of it, or sets of digits with every combination I could think of, but the phone kept failing to recognise it as a number. Is it that hard to post a normal-looking telephone number on a website so idiots like me don't want to set fire to themselves in fits of angered frustration?
I can't find anything on the internet about this and I'm amazed that more people don't seem to have this problem - the Digital Din connector & lead for the front-right speaker is far too short and after 3 weeks of trying to squeeze an answer out of creative, they finally informed me that they don't stock them and that 'it might be sold in
electrical store but it may or may not work.'
    Cheers.

  • X-FI ExtremeMusic Center-Speaker Prob

Hi, I've got Problem with my Creative X-FI ExtremeMusic Soundcard.
    I have a 5. Sound-System but it won't recognize my Center-Speaker for some reason.
The Configures are set to 5. in the Creative Sound Options as well as in the Windows Audio Options. Reinstalling the Drivers a few times hasn't worked either.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Xfi: rear/center speakers mapped to front speak

    Hey,
I have a 5. speaker setup but I'm having an issue with it. In the TXH Setup menu, i set the speaker selection to 5. speakers, but then when i test each speaker, the front left and right are correct, but the rear right sound is played in the front right, rear left in front left and the center speaker in both front left and right. Also, the subwoofer works correctly. So to me this is acting in a way that a 2. setup would.
One thing I should note is that I am now running Windows 2003 64bit. Previously I was running Windows XP 32bit, and everything was running great (without the fact that i was hearing cracks/pops at high values... one good thing about switching to Win2003 is that these cracks and pops are gone).
So does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be?

The thread might get more replies on the weekend, of people who are using the same OS. As Jason mentioned, it isn't officially supported, and I can't say I've tried a card on Windows2003 Server (so I don't know to what extent it might work), but if someone else has some advice and sees the thread they might respond.

Jason was referring to the announcement that states: "<These forums are primarily intended for user interaction.Read more.", as you posted this.

  • X-Fi and Center Speaker Prob

    Hi.
First of all sorry for my bad english.
i have a problem with my x-fi card and my center speaker.
my soundcard is connected to a sony dolby digital receiver via analoge cable connection. so three cables going from the soundcard to the receiver. the problem is, that my center speaker gives no sound. this happens whatever i do with the pc (playing games, watching dvd, eg.).
sometimes the speaker starts to work if i turn up the volume very loud or it starts to play after a certain amount of time for example if i run a game or play music.
the speaker itself, cables and speakers are fully operational. tested it with other audio sources.
i installed the newest drivers and even newest nvidia drivers. problem still resists.
my system is a amd athlon 64 3700+ on an msi k8n neo 4 platinum board with nforce 4. i have two 52mb kingston memory modules running in dual channel mode.

Well... Try this: switch the wires on your receivers input, to make for example the FL/FR to get the Subwoofer/Center signal of the soundcard. If you hear the center sound from one of the 2 speakers normally, then the problem lies in the receiver. Otherwise it may well be a faulty cable! Try another wire, or switch the cables on both ends this time to see if it makes any difference. (ie. use the FL/FR cable to connect the Sub/Center of the soundcard to the Sub/Center of the receiver)
I really think this could be the result of a bad connection...

  • Sound from only 2 front speak

I have an Audigy zs notebook soundcard with all of the drivers and downloads up to date. The problem im having is that the sound is only playing out of the two front speakers when i set the control center to a direct input and the effect to 6 channel direct. I have a logitech z-5500 speaker system. I know that if i change the effect the rear speakers will work, but i can't get true 5. surround unless the effect is set to 6 Ch direct.

Most likely because your source is stereo.

  • X-FI - 4.1 Rear Speaker Prob

I've just installed the X-FI platinum, and have a 4. setup. After hooking things up appropriately, I run the THX Setup Console, and find that the front left and right speakers are hooked up properly (FL comes out of FL, FR comes out of FR), but the rears are setup in MONO. By this, I mean when I test either the RR or RL, the tone will come out of both rear speakers. I know the speakers are hooked up correctly, as I have switched the plugs in the back and had the FR, FL sounds come out properly from the rear speakers. Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
    Thanks.
    -snap-

I'm beginning to wonder if Creative has any idea what they are doing. No tech suport doc's regarding obviously widespread problems just like this. You can't advertise a card as 5. that when you ask for a report of the RR or LF speaker you hear it in more than one speaker!? Thats false advertising. I've been battling this useless X-Fi card for a year. I've even had there tech support on the phone. They're tech's are clueless. I guess this is what you get when you start parcing out your support to foreign countries with a generic script. On top of having the same problem, buying a second X-Fi "Gamer" card to replace what I thought was a defecti've X-Fi "ExtremeMusic" card (just to find out that it's not defecti've cards its defecti've advertising and useless support), this amazing new X-Fi card that supposed to be so cool, can't even past a hardware buffering test in dxdiag... The same test that there previous line "Audigy" worked perfectly with.
Good luck finding someone with a solution.
