X-FI Fatal1ty front pa

If choose not to install the front panel and only the sound card do i lose any funtionality other that the inputs and outputs on the front panel?will the 3D sound and all of the other high end sound functions still work?Is ribbon cable between the front panel and sound card a standard IDE cable? Thanks!

Okay, you wont lose any "Features" other than the additional connections and the card will work fine. As for the ribbon cable its a standard 40 pin ide cable but you need to make sure you get one that isnt keyed, in otherwords all 40 pins open on the cables connectors whereas many cables that are "Keyed" have one hole blocked to prevent possibly missconnecting the cableCheers

so after flashing my mobo the OS detects what i think is the front panel, but it can't find any drivers, have tried reinnstalling the drivers from the cd but that didn't work. any solution guys?

got a geforce 7800 gt, pay no attention to the earlier post where the devicemanager picked up a new piece of hardware, turns out when i flashed the bios it activated the onboard ac97 chip, anyways, i see a red light in the optical out and when i connect e.g microphone or headset to the front i can hear a "sparkle" sound in my speakers, which is connected to the card itself, so i guess there is connection there. but neighter microphone, sound out, remote works, well i guess nothing on the front would work, tried the rca connector but no luck there eighter. when i start up the entertainment center i get an error saying "unnable to find a working ir device" or something like that.
Guess i should post my hardware.

  • X-Fi Fatal1ty Front Mic (2) and

    All,
I have installed my X-Fi Fatalty with no issues except for this little software glitch. I am trying to use the front panel Mic2/Input2 and Headphones jacks on the front audio panel with my headphone/microphone headset. The headphones work great but when I ever try to use the microphone BF2 does not recognize the headset unless I drop into the Soundblaster console and select the Mic2 as the input which works but the BF2 VOIP Setup seems to change the setting back to the Microphone setting once the changes are saved it changes the input back to microphone (). Is there anyway to make this change stick?
    Audi'ver

hi ya same problem for me also when using front panel.everytime i join a game it changes it back to microphone then i have go to to desktop and change it back to min in 2 in my mixer. which is very annoying.considering we have payed a lot of money for this souncard we shouldnt be having this issue i have resulted in using the back connections now cause the mic at the back is default microphone.and so is battlefield i guess thats why it keeps changing the configuration.when i was using the front panel i had to disable voip in bf? to stop it from changing back i mainly use ts but even if you want a quick work with a squad? member who aint on ts you cant.this problem cleary needs to be sorted. i like to use the front panel cause you have the volume for mic and headphones.so using back panel you have to alt tab out to adjust your mic.so it clearly isnt compatible with bf at all .

    Please help!
I bought a SB X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro card and I can't for the life of me figure out how to connect to front panel audio!
My motherboard audio has an HD Audio connector, is there a way to enable routing the sound through that?
If I can't get the case's front?panel?working at all?then I need some kind of super long headphone wires or something!

Check your online manual (it's in the Creative folder in Start Menu).

  • ALWAYS NOISE from my guitar with SB ExtremeGamer + Front Panel (Fatal1ty I/O Drive)

No clue where to start from – anyway here goes – i got win7 64-bit and latest SB drivers (Beta after trying the older ones).
When i connect my guitar to my front Line 2/Mic 2 there is a LOT of hiss, wizz, and stuff - i tried from the line in (sound card from the back and mic) same result - i am trying to use some guitar effects, studio software.
I will lay all the steps I did to try to get a sound or GOOD sound from both Amplitube 3 and Guitar Rig 4 ; I was able to get the sound a BIT fair from amplitube Fender ONCE (I also tried Hendrix, AMpeg,Metal,X-gear) – that was when I connected to Line2/Mic2 Front Creative panel – other than that I can NEVER EVER GET A SOUND from those software. Any help would really be appreciated.
In a nutshell I have Sound Blaster X-FI Fatal1ty (ExtremeGamer XFi Pro Edition) with the front Fatal1ty I/O Drive that has all sorts of inputs (Digital + analog):
I beg you guys help me; I was thinking of purchasing stuff like the below if my SB won't work
    • Behringer USB Audio Interfaces
    • M-Audio USB Audio Interfaces
    • Line 6 USB Audio Interfaces
    • Even considered this chinese product: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASIO-USB-Interf ... 3a63ff5158
I just wanna jam on my pc – don’t want to use my Digitech GSP 2101 limited edition nor my Korg PX5D in my bedroom – just gonna plug my ESP Horizon or my Fender Strat and have fun.
Please help me out in either fixing this crap or just point me to a good (better cheap) solution to finish from all the fizz, hiss, biss, wissss, tsss, etc… lol that comes out of all those apps
BTW I also installed Asio4All (also used Creative Asio and the DIRECT sound) and tried ALL the inputs outputs possible; 44.1k and 48k sampling (also tried that); messed around with control panel sounds (Playback / Recording), with Sound blaster own console and control panel.
I am sooo tired of it I just wanna blow up my whole PC
Tx a lot for any help that comes my way.
    KicKer

Again another test i did: (BTW it is only left channel that is working or how does it go since u have wndows record left/right; Mix FL/FR/RL/RR/FC/LFE/RC or SL/RC or SR
using CREATIVE Asio (to use my front panel line 2/mic 2 connection) i tried:
    1. Windows record left
    2. windows record right
there is sound but bypassed from AT or GR (Clean sound)
now when i change only left channel to: Mix FL/FR/RL/RR/FC input is MAXED and nise is crazy even without connecting anything
    finally choosing:
    LFE
    RC or SL
    RC or SR
i get the clean BYPAssed sound (input signal is zero)
i set 00 MS and ms for Asio creative latency + tried 44 and 48 hz
    Asio4all:
says not connected for all - when i go to its control panel and tick any WDM device list each one shows the yellow Unavailable/Beyond Logic mark
    please please please help me

  • Fatal1ty Champion Front Panel I/O Issue

'Fatalty Champion Front Panel I/O Issue I just purchased a Creative PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion Series Sound Card. I have installed the card and front panel into my system with the latest drivers.
I am unable to get the front panel to work (the soundcard works fine). It has no lights, volume does not work and the mode selection does not work, in fact the only thing that works are my headphones. When I plug in my headphones my speakers mute and I get sound in my headphones. I have disconnected all connections and reconnected them ensure they are fully seated. I have reseated my card as well.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional and front panel audio compatabai

I recently purchased a XtremeGamer Fatalty Professional and was wondering if i could connect the front panel audio from my thermaltake case to it

Well, I don't believe that to be possible. I don't think Creative has ever put out pinouts for the cards. And I have a hunch that none of the pins carry analog audio through them (correct me if I'm wrong though).

  • Titanium Fatal1ty Pro and front panel audio

So I hooked up my case's front panel audio cable to the Titanium card and used the front panel connectors.
The sound quality is noticeably worse than using the back plugs. When I use the front panel mic, I also hear artifacts in the sound. When I play a game, I hear slight buzzes in accordance to what is coming out of the speakers.
I'm wondering if this is just the quality of my cases's cables or if it also happens with the official creative front panel accesory.
Anybody want to comment on quality?

/Re: Titanium Fatalty Pro and front panel audioQI had an older Audigy 2 dri've connected to my X-Fi Xtreme Music and that never had any interference. The X-Fi dri've bay can't be bought separately anymore.
When I switched to a newer X-Fi without a front panel, I used the case connectors and the sound quality was awful.
I think it's the way the connectors are wired and the build quality. Despite the really awful drivers Creative ship for their cards, the hardware's actually pretty good.
There're some guides on how to rewire front panel connectors to reduce noise:
    http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/...ase-audio-jack?(rewire ground in case connector)
http://www.evga.com/forumsarchi've/tm.asp?m=00726856&mpage=&key=&#00726856?(shield front panel cable in insulating tape).

  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional - Front panel compatibility

? Is the front panel from an Audgy 2ZS Platinum compatible with the X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Professional?
I already have the 2ZS with front panel and do not want to have to buy the champion to get front panel outputs from the Fatalty.

C no the two are totally different. The older one uses a 40 Pin IDE style cable, the newer uses two smaller cables.
I am like you, and wish I could have used my older nicer looking bays with my X-FI Titanium, but all things must change.

  • [ X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion] Output front and back, just one source

    Hey!
I searched in every thread, but I couldn't find an answer.
I've a headset on front panel and speakers on the back. When I play a sound, I want to hear it on speakers and headset. I found out, that it is impossible if there are two sources, but one source is possible, right?
    Where can I configure that?

Hmm, always the same: I'm desperate, registrate in forums and write a post. Short time after that, I found the solution.
SB Audio Config -> Headset - options (just have it in german language) and uncheck "Mute speakers automatically" (or similar).

  • Fatal1ty MKII headset front mic problem.

I just got this new headset earlier today and the headset itself works fine. Yet the mic is having problems. The side mic seems to be working but the one you speak into is not .
    I'm running Windows 7 x64 bit.
    Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Using Front Panel Audio with Fatality Professional

I have a query regarding connections on the Titanium Fatality PCIe.
I have an XFi XtremeMusic PCI card and am considering replacing it with the Titanium Fatality XFi card. A couple of reasons, I like the shrouded enclosure, I like the little XFi LED logo, I want to move away from PCI cards in my system.
But one of the main reasons is to allow me to connect my Intel HD Audio connector to the card so I can use the Headphone/Mic socket on my case. So if anyone has these cards can they confirm that they have an Intel HD Audio connector on them. If so does connecting the headphone to the case socket mute the speakers?
    Cheers

Well, I don't personally have one, but I was under the impression that every X-Fi had one. I know my X-Fi Fatal1ty (original PCI version) included it, and my Recon3D definitely does.
Plus if you check their shop website for the Titanium Fatal1ty Professional than the specs page lists a 2x 5-pin connector for "Intel HD Audio Compatible Front Panel Header" so it most likely does.
I would assume it would mute the speakers only if your case is fully Azalia compliant. By that, I mean the standard (as dictated by Intel) involves the use of two normally-open switches - one each on the headphone and microphone jack - which are closed as a result of plugging something into them. Some cases have these jacks which means it can detect when you plug something in and respond accordingly, but others use cheaper (we're talking differences in cents - not exactly substantial savings, but when you do it thousands of times over it adds up) switchless jacks and simply report them as always plugged in.
Just remember to set up the X-Fi panels to mute the speakers when you plug headphones in, as well as switch the output to headphone mode. You can actually set those two options separately on X-Fis.

  • Fatal1ty headest mk II problems

i finnaly got to get my new headest to work without static in the backround by plugging the headest into the green jack labeled "front" in the back of my computer. i want to change some of the settings in the creative control panel but when ever i open it it says " the audio device supported by this application is not deceted. the application will now exit". it also does this with the console launcher saying " there are no supported audio device avalible. you need to close the application. click OK to close now. can someone please help? i have a X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series sound card.

ok i got the control panel to work by reinstalling the sound drivers. but whenever i change anything in the control panel it has no effect on anything. why couldn't creative just make a usb version? all of these problems probably wouldn't of happened. even the old fatal1ty usb headest is sounding better than this one and i never had problems with it like whatever change i made in the control panel made a difference. i'm thinking about getting my money back.

  • Problems with mic (fatal1ty gaming headset)

    hi,
i used to have a mic but the problem was that i could hear myself, but my computer didnt recognize the mic, so i bought the creative fatal1ty gaming headset but i'm still having the same problem so i think its my computer... i'm using the plug-in in the back cuz the one in front doesnt work...
so if anyone could help me i would be VERY gratefull
    grtz, alex

OK now ivé had it with Creative and the crappy products they sell. I´ve been buying ALOT of electronic stuff over the years and all creative products have been a total disaster. mp3 players that breaks down in 6 weeks,YEA ALL 3 of THEM DID!!!, soundcards that dosnt support half of the functions stated in the manual, Crappy drivers that actually gets WORSE when updated, and now a headset with no working mic!!! Cmon a mic is pretty basic stuff but still Creative manage to screw it up. Im breaking my X-Fi soundcard in half and throwing it in the garbage along with my Fatal1ty headset and my creative 5.1 speaker system.

  • SB Z (HD_AUDIO) to old X-Fi Fata1ity front panel I/O (AD_EXT) ???

I upgraded from X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition FPS with front panel I/O to Sound Blaster Z.
Is it possible to connect the Sound Blaster Z to the old I/O panel?
I'm not able to find a pre-made modded AD_EXT cable to connect to the Sound Blaster Z's HD_AUDIO pins.

    Hi,
It could be a loose connection somewhere. You might want to double check all connections and reconnect the cables again. If you have not already, please get in touch with support for further assistance.
