X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro -- HELP BEFORE I SMASH MY COMPUTER! --BF2 X-Fi Issue

I have Windows Vista x32 and I bought Battlefield 2, runs fine. There is a setting in game that allows the user to turn on optimum settings and enable full usage of the X-Fi Fatalty Pro soundcard. When I selected these settings, an error message would appear telling me my soundcard was incompatible with the settings that I had chosen. (Of course it doesn't work st time, what does?)? So I download the new Vista driver from http://ca.creative.com/support/downloads/?and I install it. (Keep in mind I have already run the CD that came with this soundcard)? So I'm prompted to restart, and I do so, but when Vista loads...no sound? Nothing, not even a peep!? I've been up until 3am trying to figure this out. I am completely at my wits end and have NO clue why using a setting in a PC game BUILT for a soundcard like mine, is refusing to work and when I install Vista drivers, there is no sound at all. Anyone with ANY information on how to fix this extremely frustrating problem please do not hesitate to reply.

Ok, for those who also wanted to know the outcome, I though I'd post.
I was told that the dongle cannot decode 5. to analog, but the Dri've Upgrade and the Console Upgrade could (at $80/$80 vs. $5).
Great.
So what I want to know is this:? what chipset or connection is Creative putting in the Dri've Upgrade and Console Upgrade? It seems to me that the card should be doing the decoding, not the type of optical port. If it's getting the signal, then what is the problem? Is is that the flexijack cannot output/input 5. at all, only stereo?
Anyway, the Digital I/O dongle is going back, the thing is useless for my purposes. While I can hear 360 games fine, DVD's on it default to 5. if they have that type of audio, and there is no way to switch it to stereo; it gives me only silence then.
And mods, nothing in my frustration is with you; you seem to be very helpful and responsi've. I just wish the rest of the company would get on the ball.

  • Please help before i smash pc...

    cannot record from line in...
(I appologize in advance is this same question has already been asked and answered, .....i couldnt find it)
    Software: Audition 3 (trial)
    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Sound: Realtek HD Audio (on-board POS)
ok so I haven't used an audio program in like 5 years, and evidently things have changed...not having a standard mixer for the sound card alone has me at a loss...the mixer that work with the on-board soundcard has more options for speaker positioning than it does for recording controls...
anyway....I can connect a line in audio signal and hear it over my computer speakers, but when i try to record from the line-in i get almost nothing.
Having been away from using this stuff for a while, im obv a little behind the curve....I'm just learning what ASIO is now...and i have installed it.
I'm not even sure if the ASIO driver is compadible with this crap soundcard or if i have it configured properly....
so far everything i've tried has been with the settings in the "audio hardware setup" dialog box having the driver "Audition 3.0 WIndows Sound" selected.
Upon first encountering recording problems, i had tried to swith the driver to the other option (ASIO), but upon doing so noticed that my i/o ports both said "not connected" and had no other options....
i am horriffficly lost......i dont want to open a recording studio in my spare room....i jsut want to record/edit audio from my line in.....any help would be greatly appreciated...
    thank you

Don't smash computer! Computer is not at fault. Feel free to smash Vista, though hold off for a bit since we can probably get this working.
Vista changed the audio device settings pretty signficantly, and as such, if an input channel is enabled in Vista's control panel, the default Audition driver will be unable to see it. This isn't as big an issue with higher-end ASIO devices, but the RealTek chip on your motherboard is highly unlikely to have its own ASIO driver.
In your Vista system tray, right click on the Speaker icon and choose "Recording Devices." That list should display all the available inputs for your RealTek audio device. My bet is the "Line Input" option will read "Currently Disabled." Right click on it and enable it, and make sure you have something plugged in so that it knows there's input on that channel. Click OK a few times to close out of there and restart Audition.
In Audition, click Edit > Audio Hardware Preferences, make sure "Audition 3.0 Windows Sound" is selected, and open the control panel. in the lower half of the dialog, locate the RealTek Line Input option, make sure it's checked, and perhaps click the MOVE UP button so that it appears at the top of the list. This will make it the default input channel for the driver.
Click OK a few times and try recording. Let us know how it goes, and if there's additional problems we can go from there.

  • Please help me from smashing my computer

about a week ago I started getting this little box popping up in the middle of every video I try to play it is a small box in the center of the video and it says on top Adobe Flash Player Settings then it says local storage s.ytimg.com is requesting permission to store information on your computer request: up to 10 KB Currently using: 1KB and has a picture of a little file on the botton and a button that says allow and another one that says deny. When I click deny it usually freezes up on me and won't let me get rid of it although on some videos it will disappear but then pop back up if I change the volume or something why it doing that and how do I get it to stop doing that I have Windows 8.1 and I have the latest version of adobe flash player please help it is driving me crazy and am at my wits end

Back everything up now if you haven't already.
I'd say use restore but I think it's too late for that to work for you.
Now that all your other music is safe you have to check what's running on your computer particularly if it can index files on its own ( a data sync program perhaps?).
It's unlikely that iTunes deleted your music but it's losing/confusing file paths and you need to find out why and another indexing/synching program is the first thing you check.
What little nuisance did HP install that you might not have activated till now ( I swear some of them are "sleepers". )?
Failing that it's an iTunes re-install but clear that up first.

  • Please help before I kill my computer

Flash player screwed up after AVG malware/virus issue which highjacked my i.e. and caused it to have to operate in safe mode.  Have used malware bytes program for the issue and appeared to remove the malware.  Now flash player will not work.  Have used every microsoft fix it tool to repair internet explorer, windows, used mircrosoft security essentials numerous time for full virus scan, used adobe forum answers and installed flash player with download manager and manually. Still nothing.  The program shows in add/remove program menu but not in program files, or add on files in ie, no shockwave program found anywhere.  Used kill bit registry fix and still nothing.  I am using window 7-32bit, i.e. 8, microsoft security essentials.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!  Wife is suffering becasue she cant play her facebook games.

Hi, thank you for that information. I think you're wise in not using a System Restore at this time. With MBAM and MSE running full scans and not finding anything is a good thing.
Now what I'd like you to do is go to this test site and let me know if you can see the Flash Player logo animate(spin).
Also what Flash Player version is Displayed?
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Do this test with all browsers you may use.
Then using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and look for "Shockwave Flash Object". Is it Installed & Enabled? Also what version number?
Go to Tools, Internet Options and under the Security Tab, make sure you have it set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
    Thanks,

  • Please help before I kick my computer.. simple master-detail

I have 7 blocks each of them on a TAB canvas.
block 1 (customer info) is master to all of the blocks.
So as I query in block one, and bring the cust info, the rest of the blocks query as well.
Well, I dont understand why, but bloc 5 and 6 are completely ignoring the join condition on the query. they are fetching all of the records in those tables!! So after my query in stead of seeing the children of that client in block one, I get ALL of the children!! the stupid thing is that this only happens in block 5 and 6!!.
The joins are all done by the same varible in all the blocks, cust_id.
now if I delete the relationship from Block one towards block 5 and 6 and re run a query, they come up with Cero fetchs as expected, but if I put the relationship back on, again it retreives ALL of the children!!
    any ideas why?
thanks so much. I already compared the block and they all seem to be set the same way...
    thanks again

Normally, if you just use the block wizzard and the foreign key are defined in the database, Forms should do it all corrctly.
In Forms Builder, check the relations that are defined with block 1. Is the relation to blocks 5 and 6 correct?

  • Need help getting Fatal1ty Pro Series Gaming Headset Mic to work

    greetings.
i am using a Fatal1ty Pro Series Gaming Headset Mic along with an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook card, and i cannot for the life of me get my laptop to recognize audio coming from the mic. the mic switch on the cord is on, and the status light is lit up, and i can even hear my voice from the mic in the headphones, but the audio is not being inputted into the computer. i'm using winxp pro and have played around with all the audio settings in control panel with no luck. any suggestions? i thank you in advance for your time and consideration. take care.
    regards,
    jps

Headsets or microphones with a USB connection cannot be connected to the input connections on a sound card directly. Instead, they must be connected to a USB port on a PC.
They are treated as a separate audio device by Windows. They will be listed as a separate audio device in Device Manager as well as in Windows Multimedia panel. To adjust the volume of the headset or the microphone, use Windows Volume Control.

  • Please help before it kills my entire library!

I’m sure this has come up before but I have to ask.
When I add new songs to my iTunes, it will “misplace” older ones and adds exclamation points to them?
At first I thought this was because I had to have my hard drive replaced and it lost the original songs but the more songs I add, the more get “lost” and now its started to affect the songs that I have purchased from iTunes recently so I KNOW its not due to the hard drive replacement. What can I do? Way too many of my songs are exclamationed now. I backed up the list several weeks ago because I had a suspicion this was what was wrong. The weird part is, even though the songs are gone in iTunes, it doesn’t delete them from the iPod. Even if I clear those songs. It will add the new ones just fine, but it won’t delete the old ones. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to the deletion of my songs. They just go as I add more. I have 330 songs and 70 of them are exclamationed. I had more but started deleting them before I figured out what was happening. So far, I seems to only happen when I add new music, no matter where its from. It even happens when I purchase from iTunes. Please help before it kills my entire library!
I have an 8 gig iPod so I know its not because its full. Oh, and Im running on an older Gateway, but I can’t even begin to tell you what year or anything and OS is Windows XP Pro. I also have the latest version of iTunes and update regularly. Any other info you need?
I haven’t needed to lately, but Im scared for if I need to restore my iPod. (I have had to do it once before) Im sure that it will delete the songs that have been preserved that were deleted on the tunes. One more thing, it APPEARS to be mixing up the artwork on the iPod itself with other artists. For example, my Kerli artwork is now my Matchbox 20 artwork and so on. That problem is only with a few songs though.
Any ideas? Thanks SO much for trying to help!

Check your Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Music folder location to make sure that it is correct. Also, is "Keep iTunes Music folder organized checked"? Have you tried to Consolidate Library? (Note: I'm not saying to do that, yet, just asking if you have.) Have you used Windows Explorer to actually locate your music?
I've seen where iTunes could be "missing" a song but not indicate it with the exclamation mark until some action is attempted -- moving, dragging, playing. For me it would be because I forgot to turn on the external drive where my music is stored. But then, once I mount the drive, I still have to point iTunes to its Music folder again.

  • Hi, I turned my macbook pro off before I went to sleep, and this morning when I awaken. I can't seem to use the volume at all! I went to system preferences sound output BUT everything is light grey and it some-how looks like I don't have permission.

Hi, I turned my MacBook Pro off before I went to sleep, and this morning when I awaken. I can't seem to turn up or down my volume. It comes up with all the volume bars and a little circle sign with a diagonal line in the middle, like a stop sign. I have gone to system preferences > Volume > Output BUT all my volume preferences have gone all light grey and wont let me access them.
    Anyone help?

  • Considering a switch from Windows to Macbook Pro, Help

Hi, I've never owned a Mac before and I just recently noticed a lot of cool things they can do. I own a Lenovo laptop that is 3yrs old and works just fine. My question for you is, that if the only thing I use my laptop for is to surf and play poker on the web, am I just wasting a lot of money on this machine since I wouldn't be using everything it is capable of?? I use Itunes also a lot, but that's about it for my laptop. Thanks for any suggestions and help!

This sort of sounds like you want to move to a MacBook Pro... you just need to justify the purchase (a position I often find myself in). As you've pretty much mentioned, your current Lenovo machine works just fine for what you are using it for... so you probably know that you don't "need" a new machine. Having said that, if you are looking to get a new machine, the MB Pro is an excellent choice. You can still install Windows (either natively through something called BootCamp, or by setting up a virtual machine within OS X). So... with a new MacBook Pro, you're not losing anything. It will be faster (even for Windows). I personally am the type that just likes to play around with different operating systems as well. I don't really have any issues with Windows (and I actually like Windows 7)... but I also like to try out different Linux distros as well. OS X is really the only other operating system out there that is really consumer friendly. The community behind Apple products tends to be top notch as well. All too often when I go to a PC forum... if someone is asking a question where the answer may seem obvious... you end up with a ton of derogatory comments from users telling them how much of an idiot they are. That is very rare in the Apple support forums. Frankly, I'm not sure I have ever seen it... but since I can't say for sure it "never" happens... I'll just go with it happens "rarely". Other users are always very supportive and willing to help out with the simplest to the most complex issues... often taking the time to actually research questions and provide comprehensive responses.
So... in going with a Mac... you're not just getting the newer hardware (which... lets be honest... as nice as it looks... inside it's the same stuff as every other PC maker)... you're also getting a great secure OS and a support community that's second to none.
It doesn't sound like you "need" a new machine now... but if you really are itching to upgrade, moving to a MacBook Pro is a great choice.

Which OS are you using? If Snow Leopard or Lion, then only the QT 7 Player can be upgrated for "Pro" use. (I.e., the QT 10 Player cannot be keyed for "Pro" use.)
Whether you are using Lion, Snow Leopard, or an older Leopard OS, ignore any instructions telling you to enter the "Key" information via the "System Preferemces" window. Use the QT 7 Player application's "Registration..." window instead. Basically, the instructions are the same as those for Snow Leopard and Lion as described HERE, but entering the information in the older OS compatible version of the QT player.
