X-Fi Fatality. The sound suddenly dissape
Hello to all! First of all please pardon me for my language!
Here I am about to tell you my main problem with this sound card.
I just bought it and installed everything as said in manual. I installed windows drivers but had no sound. It was strange because my sound system was connected in proper way. I checked it many times. Then i started the Diagnostics program and it said that all tests passed. But I still had no sound! Even computer restart never helped me! Then I tried to change all possible features in all available programes that comes with sound card. Suddenly sound appeared. I also updated my drivers from Creative web site. I enjoyed my new Sound for hour and then i changed something in Creative software or started game, i dont remember, and sound gone away again! After that I reinstalled windows, made clean install of all system drivers. Installed X-Fi drivers, updated it. Everything was ok. There was SOUND and GOD, it is perfect. But then, i changed sound mode to GAME MODE and sound dissapeared! I tried to change mode back but nothing. Still no sound. I restarted my pc. Nothing! Then i began changing all settings in creative software! Then I discover one thing! I turned off 24-bit Cryst. and sound appeared again!!!!!
By the way! When there was no sound and i tried to listen to music or something I made volume to max I heared vely low and very noisy, creepy, like electricity sound!
Guys. is that hardware problem or Software/Drivers problem? Should I go back to my computer store and change my sound card ?
Please, anyone, help me! Am I the only one with such a problem?
So, I am about to tell you all a long long story about my camasutra with my PC yesterday evening and night.
Before, here is my PC configuration is:
P IV 2.8 HT/Intel 865 PERL Motherboard/2x52mb Kingstone DDR400 + 2x52 Transcend DDR400/Sapphire X600PRO 52 MB AGP8/Pinnacle PCTV 0i/2xSeagate barracuda 80gb on Primary IDE and NEC DVD RW Dri've on Secondary IDE all of them are in Cable Select mode.
OS: Windows Media Center Edition 2005 With ALL POSSIBLE UPDATES! All drivers ARE THE LATEST Versions as all BIOSes are too.
As I promised in my last message I made a huje work. I completly uninstalled all X-FI drivers and software. Unpluged my Sound Card. I also uninstalled PCTV 0i and removed it too (just in case). And I totally uninstalled Video Card too.
Then I pluged my cards in such oder:
AGP - Sapphire X600 PRO
PCI - free
2 PCI - PCTV 0i
3 PCI - free
4 PCI X-Fi Fatality
5 PCI - free
I also found out that I have 2 free IRQs, 3 and 0, so in BIOS I gave 3 to 2PCI slot and 0 to 4PCI slot. I also choose Plug and Play OS Installed=NO to let the Motherboard configurate all IRQs before Windows.
Then I properly installed all drivers in oder: . Video, 2. Sound, 3. PCTV.
I got SOUND!!! Then I was listening to music and changing some settings and modes in Creative software. Everything was OK! Then I desided to test all that stuff in Half-Life 2! I started HL2 and began playing. I was playing for aprox. 40 minutes and then suddenly sound gone away again and MY USB MOUSE STOPPED Working! Its also dissapeared from Windows Device Manager! I restarted my PC but no sound or mouse present! Then, I changed Plug and Play settings in BIOS to YES, set assist all IRQ in to auto mode. Also I unplugged all USB Devices and left only my USB keyboard and mouse. I changed USB port for my mouse. Then I started my pc and got my mouse working but still no sound! That was the finish. I still have no sound.
I think I know whats the problem, but first I would like to listen/read answer from CL. Please, ANSWER my message!

Sound suddenly stops working (Youtube)
Hi!
Since I installed a Flash Player update 1-2 months ago, the sound in almost half of the videos I watch on Youtube suddenly stops working (usually only in videos that are longer than 10 minutes). First there's a short crackling sound (not all the time, though) and then the sound simply stops, even though the video is still playing. Reloading the page or jumping ahead a few minutes, then going back to the original spot usually only fixes it for less than 5 minutes and if I do that 2 or 3 times, the sound won't even be there for more than a few seconds. Restarting Firefox doesn't help, either. If I want to try again with the same video a few days later, the problem occurs again.
I'm using headphones (Sennheiser HD 201) that are plugged into speakers (Logitech X-140) but I'm 100% sure that those aren't the culprits since I can listen to mp3s, watch videos (avi, mp4, doesn't matter) or play games just fine and the problem has never ever occured while doing that. So it definately has something to do with the update 1-2 months ago and the latest update (maybe a week ago) didn't fix it. I also already saw a few comments on videos I'm experiencing the problem with about the sound suddenly stopping.
OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)
Browser: Firefox (36.0.4) - also tried loading the video in IE11 but all the buttons (quaility settings,...) were missing, so I closed it again.
Flash Player: 17.0.0.134
Any idea how I can fix the problem and if there's already a fix in the works?Most of the videos on YouTube these days are HTML5. If you right-click on the problem video, are you getting About Flash Player, or About HTML5?
If it *is* Flash, do you have the same problem if you disable Hardware Acceleration? See the section on it in the troubleshooting guide below:

Sound suddenly "mutes" (?) when gam

I have some strange issues with my audigy--card (player?).
I noticed while playing Doom or Black and White 2 - sometimes the sound suddenly mutes... All windows-sounds are still functioning.
This happens quite often in a while... only thing is to restart the game or swith to "window mode" in doom..
This has never happened before until I bought a Logitech Cordless Desktop 3000 in April 2005. I re-installed my system in june - still some probs (and I am no noob...).
Also I noticed sometimes little crackling for example in Tiger Woods 2005 when typing on the keyboard - but only randomly...

Using msinfo32 - there is no conflict on a shared resource for the audigy...

RainDid you check the audio preference pane? The Mac might assume you want to use the audio interface and switch audio to the interface, which wouldn't make any sound if it weren't directly connected to speakers or headphones.

I was listening to my iPod 5th generation (30gb, video) a few days ago when the sound suddenly stopped. The controls continued to work, as did the display, but no sound came through the headphones. I tried other headphones, and still nothing. I followed the "5 R's", and it still didn't work. I ensured that I have the latest edition of iTunes and software for my iPod, prior to restoring. And THEN, upon restoring, I tried to sync my iPod again to get all of my music back onto it, and after syncing a portion of the music, a dialog box appears in iTunes that says that it can't continue, and that an unknown error occurred. So now I have an iPod that won't sync properly AND won't play any sound. I've only had it about 8-9 months, and I'm really hoping somebody has some knowledge of these problems.

Here it goes...
All my songs work fine and have worked fine for over a year now. I recently updated itunes and it seems that this is when the problem appeared. (Unless it is a coincidence?) I have now counted six songs out of about 300 that suddenly stop either in the middle of the song or towards the end of the song. The music stops the timer stops but I am able to use the control to go to the next song or even to previous time frame within the same song that suddenly stopped. However when I go to an earlier part of the "stopped" song it can no longer be heard. I use these songs everyday and they were fine before Friday.
What has happened to these particular songs and why? but more to the point how do I fix the problem and how do I prevent it in the future??? Has anyone had this similar trouble?

The sound quality of my speaker suddenly got really poor when playing music or videos. Sounds like an old AM radio or Sputnik. Pretty sure it's hardware related but maybe not. Thoughts on what the problem might be and if it can be repaired?
The batterys the ipods come with are very sensetive somtimes they dont react right to the first couple of charges. Try fully charging it and then leaving it on until its completely drained a few times. If that doesnt work it might be a lemon.

I lost the speaker sound suddenly while listening to a previously aired radio program. Cannot hear any sounds on my Apple 4S iPhone since it happened. Cannot even hear Siri anymore. Can only hear any sound at all using my ear buds. No speaker sound whatsoever. Any suggestions? I've already restored the whole system using iCloud as my backup. I've also rebooted the phone several times. The sound functions well using headphones (which i was not using when the speaker sound all of a sudden stopped working in the middle of the program). I tried cleaning any debris from the speaker and other crevices using a toothbrush and have tried blowing any debris out too. I pressed up on the charging dock using a pen and tapped on the speaker side to dislodge any debris. I even stuck my phone in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer as someone suggested. Any other ideas? I even deleted an app to free up some space. Any other suggestions please?

I have an iMac 1.83 GHZ Intel Core Duo. The sound is suddenly intermittent, the magic mouse erratic. I'm running OS X 10.6.8. How do I correct this?

I can only get the sound going when mirroring through my macbook. it worked before but now suddenly only sound comes through. There's no problem mirroring my iphone or my ipad. then i get sound and picture. it must be a setting. what have i done and how do i sort it out?
when mirroring the screen just goes black.I am having a similar problem, that has just started recently. I am on OS 10.5.8 with all security updates run. My Mail account is an IMAP account. When I check my mail through webmail on Safari, my new messages show up immediately. However, Mail does not show them. Clicking the "check mail" button does not bring them in. I have to quit Mail and re-start it, then the messages show.
I tried to implement Ernie's solution of turning off "Use IDLE". That command is ticked in my preferences, however it is greyed out and I can't change it. Why is that? If it helps, my IMAP path prefix is blank, I'm using port 133, and "use SSL" is not ticked. These are all default settings that I have used successfully for years and haven't fiddled with. -
Why is it that my iPhone 4 suddenly lost the sound bar in music and YouTube? I am able to make phone calls and hear everything just fine. but otherwise my iPhone is silent. It says that it is playing music, but no sound is emmitted, nor am I able to change this.
Not knowing what steps were included in "all the troubleshooting possible with Apple people," I'll suggest you give the phone a chance to reprovision your cellular account.
First turn off Wi-Fi. Then power off your phone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the power off slider. Then slide to power off. Turn the phone back on. After the phone starts watch to see if No Serive is displayed. Hopefully after 15-30 seconds that will change to the name of your cellular service provider and finally indicate LTE or 4G as well as include some dots indicating signal strength. You can then turn Wi-Fi back on. -
How can I fix my iphone's sound I plugged it in to my radio and the sound came out fine but when I took it out the volume bar dissapered and ever seince all it says volume not available, but it work with headphones in. What can I do to fix it?
Try reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. It won't delete any data. -

Try:

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

So this morning, the sound on my MacBookPro was working perfectly, but then all of the sudden, the sound didn't work. When i turned the volume up, it showed it turning up, but there was no noise. I also tried plugging in my earphones, and it still didn't work. I don't know what to do!!
Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it. -

Do you get sound on any apps e.g. Music and Videos but not others ? If you do then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Try double tapping the movie clip itself when inserted in the timeline and ensure that sound is on on the actual clip on the movie time line.
