Console Upgrade addon for Rev52.1 customers

HANA One team is happy to announce new addon "Console Upgrade" for Rev52.1 customers.
Features:
New Console changes for better usability (screenshots provided below)
Console Upgrade will enable future releases of HANA License update.
Packages supporting new Upgrade.
Steps to install addon "Console Upgrade"
Note: Instance will reboot after Console Upgrade.
License package only visible after Console Upgrade addon is installed.
1) Go to addon tab. There will be Console Upgrade package in New section. Click on Download and Install.
2) After you click install package will be go to installing section. It will take around 5 minutes to install and reboot the instance.
3) On admin tab HANA One version will be changed to Rev52.2.

I've tried multiple times to install this Console upgrade and it fails with:
Error Message Transport : Volume creation Failed. Skipping next steps
My concern is not so much the Console upgrade but license expiration. My license expires in Aug 14 so I tried the other icon on the Addons tab for a license that expires in Sep 14. This also failed with the above message.
The license process for HANA One is not at all clear to me. Is it that the initial instance is loaded with a temporary
license and you need to install a permanent license thereafter?
My S number doesn't have sufficient authorization to create an installation on Service Marketplace and so
I can't get to where you request a permanent license key.

Question about X-FI I/O Console Upgrade

Hey i have a question in a few months i will be purchasing a set of Logitech Z 5500 speakers and i am confused about getting them to play digital sound. Do i need to buy a X-Fi console Upgrade kit ?
just to get digital sound i know i need a coax cable but all this talk is confusing to me, sorry if i this post made your head hurt.

I have the same setup and didn't realize that I'd need an upgrade. You don't need the console Upgrade Kit. I don't know why this isn't listed as an accessory, but you can go with the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module? to get you the Coax and Optical Digital sound.

Console Upgrade Pre-requisites : Upgrading From SP1 to R2

So the upgrade from Service Manager 2012 SP1 to Service Manager 2012 R2 requires that a minimum of CU2 be applied. I'm trying to find some info to indicate if that per-requisite is also required for the upgrade of the consoles. Anyone?

there shouldn't be any special requirements for the console, since the console has no cached data.
I would, however, recommend removing the console and installing the new version, if you have that option, incase the upgrade fails to remove unused DLLs.

JAVA WEB Console upgrade?

We can not apply patches to Solaris 10 host for Java Web Console because the patches are for version 3.1.x, the JWC in our server is 2.2.4.
I have been looking the path to upgrade to 3.1.x from 2.2.4, but it seems no way to upgrade in Solaris 10.

If anyone ever needs this, the service name is 'smcconsole'.
And if you're curious as to how I found this out, it was mostly guesswork. By looking at logs from debugging the `other` sections of pam.conf, I saw that `pamverifier` was the process actually invoking the PAM calls (which is located at /usr/lib/webconsole/pamverifier). Then I just tried using the names output by running `strings` on that, and smcconsole worked.
I don't even know if that is the actual string that is used in the PAM invocation, or if it's just a coincidence. To my knowledge, this is not documented anywhere, just like most things with the web console dealing with PAM.

There are 3 Oracle StorageTek Product versions: 8.1.00, 8.2.00 and 8.3.0.0 available for download.
How can I upgrade SL500 console? is there compatible version say in 8.1.00 - version?

the max upgrade is for cpu t9900 but u might have problems with cooling.
for memory i also read it is possible to go for 8gb but i didnt try it.
also i would strongly recommend a ssd not a hdd no matter is 7200rpm.

Cisco Unified Attendant Console Upgrade

All - I currently have CUEAC 8.6.1, and I am looking to get to 10.0.1.
Can I upgrade to CUEAC 9.1.1, and then upgrade to 10.0.1?
I found a document that stated I can do upgrade migration from 9.1.1 to 10.0.1, but couldnt find any specific details.
Any help would be appreciated!

I own a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, and in the instruction manual and on your website you mention a Internal Dri've Upgrade Option like the one that comes with the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum. My question is i have found similar products available for the Sound Blaster Li've series, but i have not found that product available as an upgrade for the audigy 2 zs. Could you tell me if it is not in production or if the li've di've IR is compatible with the audigy 2 zs. Also the manual noted a adapter needed for the spdif out, were is that available?

SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 UPGRADE BROKE REMOTE ADMIN CONSOLE CONNECTIVITY

I installed SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 on my site server but it broke a couple things. I've never had problems with SCCM upgrades before. The admin console works if you log into the site server and run it from there but not when you try it from anywhere else (another
server or a workstation). When you open the admin console on the site server it does have the new version of 5.00.7958.1401. Of the five suggestions that appear when your console won't connect, here's what I know:
1) the remote machines can all ping the site server (call it server 01)
2) we know it's not my account that's a problem as I can open the console on the site server itself
3) This problem happens on server 02, which I put the new admin console on. It also happens with other machines which still have the CU2 console
4) Yes, I'm an admin role, shown by logging into the console on the site server
5) I have another network where everything works. I have not put CU3 on it yet, of course. The WMI permissions on Root, Root\SMS, and Root\SMS\site_ABC are identical on both site servers yet it works on non-upgraded one and not on the upgraded one.
WMI info-I can WMI connect from the site server to these other machines but not WMI connect from the other machines to the site server: not root, SMS, or SMS\site_ABC, nor cimv2, even though the permissions match what is on the working network.
When I launch the console from the site server entries about loading the console loading ok are in SMSAdminUI.log, but when I try to launch the console from other machines no entries are made, even though I changed the SmsAdminSNapIN value to VERBOSE.
I checked DCOM permissions and they are the same on both networks.
Another issue that appeared with this upgrade: I can install the client upgrade to CU3 on other machines but on the site server it fails with "Internal Error 2503" and when you click OK it you get "Internal Error 2502".

I'd suspected this WMI problem was only affecting our Server 2012 boxes. I compared RSOPs and noticed the ones having this problem were all under the same OU and getting few GPOs. Our GPO person found a GPO that has somehow become unlinked. He relinked
it. After a gpo update AND a reboot these machines start working again. So CU3 did not cause this WMI after all.
And yes, the CU2 consoles won't connect to a CU3 site server, you have to run the console upgrade.
I fixed the "internal error 2503/2502" by doing this: open task manager, click details, end the explorer task (screen will look blank at first). Click File and select "start new task", enter "explorer.exe' and click the run as admin
button. The msp for CU3 client installed and the screen looks normal again. I only saw this error on the site server and have never seen it before.

Upgraded to R2 CU3 from SP1 CU4, cannot update consoles with provided package

It appears that I cannot install the Console upgrades... gives error 1642.
The version we have installed is an x86 version.
Any Ideas?

I would suggest you completely remove the SP1 CU4 Console version and install the R2 Console version (located on your SCCM server at %DriveLetter%\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration) Manager\tools\ConsoleSetup
Then apply the CU3 Console MSP file either via the package that the CU creates for you or directly by copying it from \\%YOURSERVER%\SMS_XXX\hotfix\KBXXXXXXX\AdminConsole\i386 and executing.

SCCm2012 R2 CU3 version # not showing on the site settings or in the console on the client info.

Hi, I'm installing SCCM2012 R3 and applying Cu3 on in a new environment which never had SCCM/SCCM on. Once it was installed successfully, I realize the CU level is 3 in the registry but the "Full Version" still stayed at 1000 instead of 1401.
the client upgrade package was applied and so was the console upgrade package. When I open the console then look at the site version, its still at 5.00.7958.1000 instead of 5.00.7958.1401. Also when I look at the devices client versions are
also at 1000 instead of 1401. Is there something wrong here?

The site version in the console will always stay at the latest major build version, which in your case is the R2 version. The client will show the right version in the console after applying the latest CU update and after that running a heartbeat discovery
(or manually trigger a data discovery cycle).

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro - External I/O Hub alternativ

I just bought a used Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro as stand-alone,meaning no HUB.
I couldn't care less about the HUB,because I would be using it only with headphones for games. That is until I found out it has NO MIC jack on the PCI board!!
Apart from being puzzled to why Creative would skip putting a MIC jack on the board I've being trying to find out which alternati'ves (if there are any) I could use.
There are some I/O dri'ves (Front Panels) I could buy, but im uncertain to if AD-Link cables are same form factor. This particular board uses two: AD_Link and AD_Link2, altought the second one is a straight firewire cable.
X-Fi I/O Console Upgrade Kit:would this one (it has an AD-Link cable) work?

Thats simple: I bought it on Ebay.
The thing is: I cant blame the seller because he clearly stated it was a "stand-alone".
But I never heard of a sound-board which didn't have any "IN" jacks on itself. That is:until now.Always thought front-panels and hubs were add-ons...
This particular one only has 3 jacks for output.On a card supposedly to be the best of the ZS series its particularly weird.
I have been using 2 sounds cards without any issues so I guess this is the "best" solution.

Service Manager 2012 R2 - Updating to Rollup 4

I have updated the SM 2012 servers with update rollup 4, no errors, it was a successful upgrade. I checked the console (server side) to verify it's on the right version but it's still showing RTM.
Here is the installer I used on the servers - SCSM2012R2_CU_KB2989601_AMD64_7.5.3079.236.exe
I installed the patch on a client machine and it also shows the RTM version.
How do you get the console upgraded and/or verify the patch worked at all?

Yea, that's what I did
The server has the console on it, I used the 64 bit installer. Still shows RTM.
I have the console installed using the x86 on a client machine which installs RTM.
I then ran the update below for rollup update 4 on the x86 client
SCSM2012R2_CU_KB2962041_i386_7.5.3079.148
Client still shows RTM
It's completing okay without error, I see files that have been updated, but the console is still on RTM

Were you on 7.0 IR12 or IR13 before the upgrade?
Did you apply IR3 or 4 after the upgrade, or did you just upgrade to the
vanilla version of 7.5 (i.e. just what's on the CD).
I had the same issue last week - turned out the web console upgrade failed.
Looks like ZAM7.0IR13/13 have some database schema extensions that do not
exist in vanilla 7.5, as they came out after 7.5 was first released.
The following worked for me:
First apply IR3 or (preferably) IR4
1) Stop the Apache Tomcat service and the Webconsole Updater service on the
web console server
2) under C:\Tomcat5\webapps rename the rtrlet folder and the rtrlet.war file.
3) copy rtrlet.war from the filestore (under the
FileStore\EXEDir\WebConsoleUpdater\Win32 folder) to C:\Tomcat5\webapps
4) Restart the two services, and leave it for a couple of minutes as
rtrlet.war is unpacked - it should automatically recreate the rtrlet folder
with about 15.7MB and ~1278 files.
5) try the web console again.
Please post back whether or not this fixes your problem - as if there's a
bug in the upgrade process then more people will hit this.

X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro -- HELP BEFORE I SMASH MY COMPUTER! --BF2 X-Fi Issue

I have Windows Vista x32 and I bought Battlefield 2, runs fine. There is a setting in game that allows the user to turn on optimum settings and enable full usage of the X-Fi Fatalty Pro soundcard. When I selected these settings, an error message would appear telling me my soundcard was incompatible with the settings that I had chosen. (Of course it doesn't work st time, what does?)? So I download the new Vista driver from http://ca.creative.com/support/downloads/?and I install it. (Keep in mind I have already run the CD that came with this soundcard)?So I'm prompted to restart, and I do so, but when Vista loads...no sound? Nothing, not even a peep!? I've been up until 3am trying to figure this out. I am completely at my wits end and have NO clue why using a setting in a PC game BUILT for a soundcard like mine, is refusing to work and when I install Vista drivers, there is no sound at all. Anyone with ANY information on how to fix this extremely frustrating problem please do not hesitate to reply.

Ok, for those who also wanted to know the outcome, I though I'd post.
I was told that the dongle cannot decode 5. to analog, but the Dri've Upgrade and the Console Upgrade could (at $80/$80 vs. $5).
Great.
So what I want to know is this:? what chipset or connection is Creative putting in the Dri've Upgrade and Console Upgrade? It seems to me that the card should be doing the decoding, not the type of optical port. If it's getting the signal, then what is the problem? Is is that the flexijack cannot output/input 5. at all, only stereo?
Anyway, the Digital I/O dongle is going back, the thing is useless for my purposes. While I can hear 360 games fine, DVD's on it default to 5. if they have that type of audio, and there is no way to switch it to stereo; it gives me only silence then.
And mods, nothing in my frustration is with you; you seem to be very helpful and responsi've. I just wish the rest of the company would get on the ball.
