You may laugh, but you can detach the plate, and spray paint it very quickly. I did this with my first i/o bay and finished it off with a nice glossy lacquer. It looks great to this day!? I later did the same with an Audigy bay.

Face Plates

Does anybody know where I can purchase faceplate's for my 8130. I see that on the Blackberry web site that the phone is available in different colors, but my service provider where I got the phone only had one color. Thanks....

You can have those clorful face plates from other sources. You can consider placing an order online from any online store like, ShopBlackBerry, BlackBerry Source, BlackBerry Gadgets etc.

Cracked Face plate

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but, I dropped and cracked the face plate on my 8330 curve. Anyone know where I can get just the face plate. I really hate the crack.

I had the same problem but they fixed it within the warranty. Now after half a year, it´s cracked again and I only have "Parts and Labor" warranty, I hope they will fix it!
It seems as if they created a notebook with a Mercedes engine and put it into a shoe box...
I´ll let you know if they fixed it!

ISkin Claro Case: Front Face Plate Slides On Loose?

I just got the iSkin Claro for iPod Classic.
I put the iPod in the silicone case and then put it in the hard plastic case. When I slide the front face plate onto the case to seal everything up, it doesn't lock into place. Is that normal?
I've also noticed that part of the front face plate that actually slides under the lip of the main part of the case seems to be filed down in a couple of areas.
Should I bring it back to the Apple store and exchange it for a face plate that locks into place more securely?

I can report that iSkin's "Evo4 Duo" model is very tight.
I should add that I had to select between 80gb & 160gb models, when ordering it. Are you sure that your case is correctly sized to your iPod?

Zen vision:m face plat

Hi, I own a green Creative Zen Vision:m and I love it quite alot. I've noticed that it tends to scratch alot, so I bought a silcone case for it, I liked it at first but after awhile I noticed how thick it made the player get, so i decided to get a invisible shield for the mp3 player, it was fine, but I started to see bubbles and junk from applying the screen protecter. I removed the shield and it left this bumpy grainy residue on the screen and buttons. I am unable to get rid of the residue and was wondering if I can purchase a face plate and replace my old one. I really hope someone could tell me some info on this because I love my vision:m very much and don't think I would want to get a different one just for a simple problem of having gunk on the screen and buttons. thanks in advance

As near as I can tell the form factors are identical in height and width but the depth is shallower in the 40GB White version - what I don't know though is _whether that depth is made up in the shell or in the face plate sides_ - i.e. are the shells, the metal parts deeper/more shallow and the face plates the same depth, or are the face plates different depths?

Hi, I just bought a Zen Micro in white & the face plate is not like those I see on the internet, where it is opaque, on my set, the blue glow shines through like a sore thumb. If you need to carry large files (e.g., larger than about 4GB) back and forth, you may need ExFAT. Otherwise MS-DOS works for smaller files.

hello, there's a general regression in firefox 27 that won't allow files to download directly into a root drive. please try to create a subfolder (like ''E:\Downloads'') and set this as default location for downloads...

Got a new MBP and old external hard drive is too full for backup

I just got a new MBP and got all my data migrated and everything. I plugged my external hard drive in to run a backup, and it apparently is too full to run a backup of the new computer. Even though all the files are the same (mostly), I guess it's not going to overwrite anything because it's a new computer. Should I just get a new backup drive and start fresh for this computer. Should I reformat my old backup drive (and if so, how?)? Advice?

You should always have two backups of all vital data in any regard. A good 1TB Toshiba USB is $65
If there is NOTHING on the external HD you cant lose, format in disk utility > erase > format MAC OSX extended journaled.
then apply a Time Machine backup to the old HD of your new computer. That will free of a great deal of space.
However you should still have a 2nd backup of data. 2 backups is 1, and 1 is none.
