X-Fi I/O Drive win 7 x64

Will there be official support to get the I/O dri've to work correctly in windows 7 ultimate 64-bit's. I have tried all the known drivers and software available. The drivers are ok but no software will work fully. All the software installs ok but when i try to use it it says device not installed. The creative sound blaster x-fi titanium fatalty champon drivers and software works superb in vista x64. When using windows 7 x64 i can't turn the volume up or down with headphones connected directly into the I/O dri've, no red lights coming on the I/O panel for game mode, cmss 3d or crystalizer.Message Edited by Atomic_Punch on 06-2-2009 08:27 [email protected]

I decided to uninstall all creative drivers and software and start from scratch. And i'm pleased to say, after downloading the newest windows 7 x64 beta drivers from the official creative support website ...and ...using creative software autoupdate, i know have a fully working setup, all is good, so i am?well pleased with that. The I/O dri've is working superb in windows 7 x64?ultimate...evaluation copy...build 700.

  • JAVA_HOME space win x64

Okay the problem is famous :  on win x64 java is not recognized if  set JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\1\Java\jdk1.8.0_25 neither if set JAVA_HOME ="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25"  and neither JAVA_HOME ="C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.8.0_25"   despite a tons of web pages that indicate to use this last setting (Maven: tricky JAVA_HOME setting | Xinotes ) .
Then what is the solutions ? maybe the unique solution is to install java in a folder without space ?

If you are suggesting that when you type "java" at the command line it doesn't work regardless of how you set JAVA_HOME then the solution to that is simple (and true for all versions of windows)...use the environment variable "PATH" instead.
You can use JAVA_HOME from a 3rd party app that wants the location of a java VM.  (There are problems with that for serious applications because they would not normally run with any arbitrary VM but only the ones they are tested for.)

  • GoldenGate for Big Data 12c for Win x64?

I was looking for the GoldenGate for Big Data download for Win x64 and all I found on edelivery was Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX platforms, but no Windows at all (see the screenshot below). I wonder if it's been released yet? Or, is it just an unfortunate omission?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Thanks, for your reply, Karan!
I tried following your advice, but bumped into yet another similar problem. I've installed OGG 12c and now I can't seem to be able to find the matching version of the GG Application Adapters for JMS and Flat File for the Win x64 platform. The latest version of Application Adapter available on edelivery is 11.1.1.0.0 which means I need to downgrade OGG to the same version. No big deal but I wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.
I wonder if anybody has any idea as to whether Application Adapters 12c for JMS and Flat File is available for the Win x64 platform, and if so, where can I download it from?
    Thanks

  • HP H8-1500z and Samsung SSD - BIOS sees the drive, Win 8.1 doesn't

I'm trying to help a friend (no really!)  I've worked in IT support, but this has me stumped so far.
The H8-1500z has an AMD hexacore CPU, and the AMD Raid storage driver.  The Samsung Magician software has been run using a USB adapter to clone the internal HHD to the SSD drive, and it seemed to go fine.  When all else has failed, the SSD has been bootable as a USB device.  So it would seem the SSD is working OK, just not when connected to an internal SATA port.
The current SATA config includes the internal HDD, a four-device memory card reader/writer, and now the Samsung SSD.
The SSD is visible to the BIOS, but not to Windows 8.1.
I switched the BIOS from RAID (the default) to AHCI - the PC still works, but no change.  Win 8.1 updates are all installed, and the BIOS reports it's also up-to-date.  I've run the HP troubleshooter a few times--it reports it has made changes, but again, no joy.
Samsung tech support wrote this to him:
All Samsung Solid State Drives are compatible with AMD processors. The only known issue with AMD machines is with the Samsung SSD Magician software, in which the native AMD SATA port drivers are not compatible with the SSD Magician software. To remedy this, we simply ask that you install Microsoft SATA port drivers or NVIDIA SATA port drivers and the issue will be resolved.
We've scoured the Micrsoft site and Google on how to "simply" do this.  Comparing the driver names for my Crucial SSD drives and his, the three files are the same.  I think he already has the drivers installed.  The Device Manager lists the "Microsoft Strorage Space Controller."  He did attempt disabling the  AMD drivers by renaming them; the PC was unbootable.  Thankfully he was able to boot off the SSD with USB and put the filenames back and restore bootability.
I've suggested he disconnect the memory card reader to test.  He hasn't tried it yet.  I'm thinking of bringing my rig over, and seeing if my homebuilt can see his drive, and if his HP can see one of my SSD drives.
We've been at this for several weeks, and I've spent hours on this site and Googling to try and figure out why the BIOS would see the drive, but not Windows.
I really hope someone can point us in the right direction.
    Many thanks,
    Steve

I understand that you are attempting to get your friend's desktop computer to recognize the new SSD in Windows 8.1, and I would be happy to help you!
Since the SSD is visible from the BIOS, I recommend following the steps in this document on How To Change Drive Letter In Windows 8.1. This should help the Windows operating system see the SSD.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Cannot see see host drives, Win 7 guest on Virtual PC Win 7 host

I have Virtual PC running on Windows 7 Enterprise with a Win 7 guest OS and integration features enabled (all drives are selected), as per instructions here:
    http : / / technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee449412(v=ws.10).aspx
However after restarting the VM it still does not work, I cannot see the host drives in the VM.  How can I get this to work?

Here's a link to a thread about the same problem.  There seems to be a couple of fixes, and one is to uninstall an RDP update (KB2592687), and another is a list of 8 steps that seems to resolve the issue.  I'd suggest trying the
8 steps first because then you'll have all the updates and a working VM if it works.

I was able to get it working:
Go to Settings for the Windows XP Mode VM.
    Integration Settings
    Uncheck Drives.
Login to the VM and Shut Down the Guest OS.
Boot it back up and login.
    Recheck Drives in Integration Settings.

Boot it back up and it should be working.

  • HP System Recovery DVD incorrectly formats hard drive (WIN Vista HP SP1 64-bit 510141-001)

    HP Pavilion DV4-1225dx
    Vista Home Premium 64-bit
    AMD Turion x2
I had previously posted the issue as "HP System Recovery Fails on new HDD", however it appears that the reason it is failing is due to incorrect formatting of the hard drive:
Went to purchase the oem HDD @ Tiger Direct (Hitachi 0A56415 Travelstar 5K320 Mobile Hard Drive - 2.5", 5400 RPM, SATA 3G, 250GB, 8MB Cache) but found it was out of stock. I purchased the suggested replacement  (WD Blue 320GB Mobile Hard Drive - Designed for everyday computing - 2.5", SATA 3Gb/s, 5400RPM, 8MB C...)
I have attemptted the System Recovery several times each failing with errors. But after each failure the HDD is found to be incorrectly formatted as documented in the following link:
System Recovery Fails on new HDD
    hp G71-340US WIN 7 HP 64 Bit
hp pavilion dv4-1225dx VIsta HP 64 Bit
hp pavilion zd7000 WIN XP Pro
hp pavilion xv886 WIN Millennium / WIN XP Pro
    hp deskjet 6980xi
hp pavilion xt236 / ze4200 WIN XP Media Edition

    Slolearner,
After doing a little research, I believe your issue may be related to your new hard drive being an AF (Advanced Format) drive. Please see "WD Scorpio® Blue™ SATA/PATA Hard Drives", which indicates your WD3200BPVT may an AF drive.
Please see "Cannot Recover the PC after Replacing the Hard Drive with an AF Drive (Windows 7 and Vista)" for information on this subject. While this document isn't for your specific computer, it is generic enough that it applies to your situation. If you wish to use your HP Recovery Discs successfully, you may need to purchase a non-AF drive.
If your computer boots into Windows, please see "Identifying an Advanced Format Hard Drive" to download and run the HP Advanced Format Hard Drive Information tool.
If it is an AF drive, please see "Preparing Advanced Format Hard Drive for Windows" and "Improving the Performance of an Advanced Format Hard Drive" for more information on the subject and possible steps to be taken to resolve your issue.
    Lastly, it may be necessary to follow Paul_Tikkanen's advice and install Windows Vista from a Microsoft Windows Vista installation disc as follows;
    +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
If you can still read the 25 character Microsoft Vista product key on the bottom of your PC, you can make your own plain Vista installation media and use that to at least get the OS on your PC.
Here is how to do that if you can read that key:
Please click on the link below, click on the Windows Reinstallation Guide [27-07-2013] pdf link on the upper left of the page and then read the instructions for doing this starting on page 302.
    http://philipyip.wordpress.com/dell-community-forums/
    +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
You may also consider purchasing a copy of Windows 7 and installing that instead. Windows 7 SP1 has much better support for AF drives than the previous versions of Windows.

  • X61s, Video driver, Win 7, External Monitor, Low Res

I've seen this problem posted before or similar, but no solution mentioned so far has any effect. Replaced totally failed HDD last week and moved up to Win 7 Professional (so something good came of it). Now the X61s can't run external monitors at anything higher than 1280 x 1024. The old OS (Win XP) went to 1600 x 900 and 1900 x 1080 with no problems. Latest BIOS is in (2.21) and the 965 Express Driver is the latest Lenovo 8.15.10.1867. One monitor is Samsung P2250, the other an LG 19 inch. Intel says the driver is manufacturer-tweaked, so best not to move to a generic from them directly. Anyone any ideas? 1280 x 1024 is a waste...

What does dep compliant mean? Are you talking about Data Execution Prevention? I understand win 7 is still in beta or Release Candidate status. It is due to start shipping in only?a few months so if Creative doesn't get on the ball, OEM's will ship with other vendors hardware. My on board Realtek sound works just fine but I would like to use the "upgraded" card I paid good money for. I am using the latest driver from Creative which is for my configuration. Can you please be more specific with your assistance? To answer your queston, yes, device manager shows that Creative drivers are installed. Thank you for your [email protected]

  • Z77A-G43 (MS-7758) problem with Win x64 install

    Hello,
    Motherboard is Z77A-G43 (MS-7758) latest bios v2.7.
I would like to install Windows x64 on 3TB GPT disk.
In accordance with the product description "3TB+ Infinity is not only breaking through the limit of traditional BIOS, but also enhancing the utilization of hard drives efficiently. In addition to supporting the latest 3TB hard drives, MSI 3TB+ Infinity technology can use the 3TB hard drive as boot disk when installing a 64-bit operating system. Compared to competitors, MSI 3TB+ Infinity is an industry-leading technology which substantially presents an advantage of development and application in the future."
HDD is ST3000VX000-9YW166 connected as SATA AHCI. The device is recognized by the bios.
To make sure that I use EFI, I boot with EFI shell and run BOOTx64.EFI from Windows install disk. I select the ST disk. It has one system partition of size about 128mg, the rest of the disk is unallocated. When I attempt to install Windows on the ST disk, I get the message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
What should I do to make Windows install on this disk?
    Thanks.

    Did you turn Infinity on?
I believe Infinity is always on. At least I don't see such an option in bios.

  • Win 8.1 not mapping AD defined home drive - Win 7 does

    Hi there,
I am having issues with a small domain running Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8.1. All users in the domain have a home folder defined in their AD user object profile as H:
\\fileserver\users\%username%. All Windows 7 clients in the domain automatically map up this drive when the user logs in. The few Windows 8.1 client computers does not. I can't seem to find anything related
in the event log, but I might not be looking in the right place.
For the record: There are no logon scripts and no group policies that map any drive to this letter. Neither are there any card readers interfering as the error still occurs if we change the defined home folder drive letter to any other letter.
Does anyone have any ide what this could be? Any suggestions on how I go about troubleshooting this? Logs or such?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Terje

    Hi,
Please check if A logoff/logon after network connectivity can establish the drive mapping.
If so, I suspect this is a network issue, please enable the following group policy for a check:
Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
