X-fi line is fine, but .... something gone wrong.
---) XtremeMusicFlexi-jack is a JOKE to me. I saw it first on the CHEAP SBLi've24 and had to smile.Currently I use both the LINE_IN and MIC on my audigy2.Creative probably wants me make a hole in the case and connect line to AUX_IN (ok, drilling machine, cable, connectors and solder are ready). It's low end. Only very few will upgrade in the future. So why is there external AD_LINK ?Dedicated headphone output and one more LINE_OUT for 7,8 channel (hate these 4 pole jacks) should be better.SPDIF output with its low bandwidth is good for nothing !Personally I don't like DOUT and X-fi with its power should do better job than most of the receivers.
2) Platinum+For the most of people only headphone is usefull. I really don't know who will connect digital output with his receiver from the FRONT of the computer.Only idea of the bending optical cable is terrible.So this int. I/O is probably for MIDI guys with less money.
3) Fatalty FPS+64 MB for $80. I remember times of the AWE32. There was never enough of memory and we added bigger and bigger modules.And with the X-RAM it will be soon the same.At least we don't have to care about changing modules and maybe 64MB will be enough for a while.But what I know certainly is need for PCI only card with X-RAM.So what ?Nothing. Gamers, open the wallets.
4) Elite ProThis is the piece I really wanted to buy (before I saw the specification and pictures).External box is the ONLY usable extension.But what ? Line outs still on the PCI ? Hmm.What about to remove these outs from PCI and add them to external box with 8 cinchs.On the PCI should stay only MIC and LINE_IN (for connection with others PCI cards).Quality LINE_IN should be external too.For so little money (only +$20) probably to much work.Again.With this configuration, it should be better to have "Elite NonPro" without EXTERNAL BOX TOO and without AD_LINK.---
This is my second post (Meanwhile they discarded my login (yes, yes .. more often, more often)). In the first one I asked if SB firewire supports A&M protocol for connection with receiver.Now I don't ask, because there is no more any firewires (no loss, if not with A&M btw).
Note:This IS NOT OFFENSE to creative.Only how I feel it.We will see how Creative will be creative in the future.
Adage:Measure two times, cut one time.
What I REALLY hope for is "The X-FI Elite with EXTERNAL 8CINCH ONLY OUTPUT".
BTW: Creative, please check the photos on your web. At the time, there is photo of "Fatalty PCI" with "Elite Pro box" saying it is Elite. Maybe others are not right too.

<-- w00t its kinda funny also there is no SPDIF,Optical or MIDI on the backside on the card so the dri'vebay is a good thing i can even connect my Logitech Z-5500 via Optical:P
Righ&Left input for audio (from VHS,DVD, on the di'vebay is cool to and its useful!)
option to turn down/up volume on the front is nice (noo need to click you way to windass crapy old Volume control :P
the remote looks cool :P more buttons than my Logitech Z-5500 Remote Controller :P
