X-fi platinum not detect front pa

I?installed the x-fi properly!!!!But the front panel it doesnt work...whyyyyyy??When i go to start the entertainment center settings i take this message : Unable to find a working IR device"?Please Help!!!!!!!

You might be able to. If your amp has anolog inputs for the 5 speakers you can use the ports on the back and the digital/mic port for your mic. Most third party computer cases have an intel audio (ac '97) front panel connector so you'll have to buy an adaptor (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2700?theres one) or splice it yourself. Then you can use the digital connection on the back for the amp and the front panel mic connection. I could never get my xfi to do digital 5. though. Not sure if that was me or the card. I have the Platinum.

Hi,
what may cause a K8N Neo4 Platinum to not detect an IDE hard drive? no matter what i try the mobo never sees the hard drive.

welcome to the forum
1) What Hard drive - size & make
2) How connected - By itself as Master or slave.
3) What other ide devices.
it's a lot easier when u post some specs & we can quit the guessing games.

• XFi Platinum Not Detected

XFi Platinum Not DetectedMOkay, so I just?received?a XFi platinum from a friend. Anyways, the problem with the card is that when I put the card into my computer, at times my computer would freeze when attempting to install the drivers. I also had troubles at first when the card would not post causing my computer to not post. Anyways, its gone now and I can go into my desktop, I've tried installing the latest .5 drivers from creative and the old .3 drivers, when I do install them, it goes into "updating windows drivers" and goes straight to asking me to restart my computer. When I restart my computer however, it still doesn't work and dxdiag is not picking up a sound card as well. And to add even more bad luck, I can't seem to find the drivers on my computer at all. It seems like the drivers lied to me or something as I can't find them anywhere, I even tried installing them on safe mode as well. Help, I really want quality sound instead of this crappy onboard I am stuck with. I've also unistalled my old onboard drivers and disable onboard sound on my bios so I don't see what the problem is.

Help?

• X-Fi Fatality not detecting front bay anymo

I own a X-Fi Fatality with the front bay. I never had any issues, but lately windows (Vista x64) seems unable to pick up my front bay. I always had it working properly, but now it's just not there. I don't see any connections in the audio panel anymore, whereas before I could see en select the different outputs. Connecting a mic or headphone or using the remote, none of this actually works anymore.
The front bay does recieve power though, since the red light of spdif actually shines.
It seems as if the card itself doesn't recieve the signal of the front bay that it is there or something. Anyway, right now it looks as if I only have a soundcard with no front bay installed. And yes, the cable conencting the two is still there.
I completely uninstalled all creative software en manually removed the card and the bay from the computer en rebooted. I reconnected everything and even took the ide cable on and off and reinstalled drivers and software. To no avail however, still no front bay.
Anyone got the same experience ever? Any solutions?

I also had this problem in the past.
The Frontbay was dead was my conclusion.
I tried another on the same soundcard which did work.
So try your frontbay on another Creative Audigy / X-Fi card and see for yourself.

• Audigy(1) Platinum PCI Not Detected By Installation CD In New Desk

Hello, I just updated to a new computer and pulled my Audigy Platinum SB0090 (with the front dri've panel) out of my old system and installed it in my new systemell E52 (AMD dual core)Windows XP SP23GB memory?) I disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS.2) Installed the Audigy Sound PCI card and dri've panel.3) Upon boot, Windows XP installs the Firewire and Gameport automatically. I tell it "no" when it prompts my to install audio device drivers.4) I try to install the current Audigy Platinum drivers from here, SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006, but it tells me no Audigy is detected and won't install.5)?I try to install the drivers from my original installation CD (PN: 220ML0003067) and am also?told that my?Audigy is not detected.6) The new PC has two PCI slots, 3 and 4. is PCIe6, 2 is PCIe. I've tried both PCI slots to no avail. The BIOS shows an audio device in whatever slot it is in. Partial Solution:7)? I went ahead a told Windows XP to search for drivers and it'sdid find?them on the original installation CD and installed them. I now have basic operations, but no dri've panel access. However, both installers above still cannot detect the Audigy. In Device Manager I now show:- Sound, video and game controllers-- Audio Codecs-- Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)-- Creative Gameport-- Legacy Audio Drivers-- Legacy Video Capture Devices-- Media Control Devices-- Video Codecs? All of the above devices are working properly. Apparently I will not be able to easily get these installers to work. Is there a way I can manually?install the drivers neccessary to get current and full functionality of my Audigy and front dri've panel? Thanks

• MSI x48c platinum - does not detect SATA HDDs

I am having some problems with a pc build with motherboard not detecting SATA HDDs (MIS x48c Platinum).
I believe I have exhausted all other avenues, and I would appreciate some help if I have missed something obvious.
(details of other components are listed at end of mail).
When I built pc using these components, and went into BIOS settings, the SATA HDD's were not detected. I tried changing BIOS settings, but no difference if SATA, AHCI, or IDE settings.
I removed the HDDs and successfully tested them in another machine (also formatted them while had them istalled in other pc).
IDE optial drives are detected. I have tried to boot with these disconnected to ensure no isues with both IDE and SATA drives connected, but this did not resolve issues.
I have also tried connecting HDD to different onboard SATA ports, and connecting just one drive with no success.
Resetting BIOS defaults, and using clear CMOS reset did not resolve issues either.
Sometimes on boot, it takes a few attempts to boot correctly, and on these occassions I receive an error message "Warning !!! The previous performance of overclocking is failed, and the system is restored to the default settings, Press any key except "DEL" to enter setup ......." I haven't tried to set any over clocking.
I read about a number of issues on MSI forum related to SATA drives which were resolved by BIOS upgrade (mobo was shipped with v.7.0 released 20 March 08). I managed to install an old IDE HDD and flash BIOS, but still no resolution of issues detecting SATA drives (BIOS V.7.2 released 29 July 08).
I've tried everything I can think of at this stage. Is there anything else I should try, or is there something wrong with this motherboard?
Spec:
Motherboard:
343949 MSI X48C Platinum, X48, Socket-775,
DDR2/DDR3, ATX, GbLAN, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x1
Other components in build:
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Graphics Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB
HDD 2 x Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB
RAM 4GB (2x2GB) GeIL DDR3 1333MHz Value Dual Channel (7-7-7-24) PC3-10660
PSU 700W X-Power ATX SLI PSU
ODD DVD & CDR drives from an old pc - IDE connections.

i just remember i had once similar problem with a sata driver. the issue is this you can not adjust everything in bios in one go and expect mobo to know about it. what i mean is this for instance you disable the raid then you save it and exit and then when it reboot you go back to bios and reset another another parameter, you save and exit and on reboot you go back to bios and reset another parameter. i got round the prob that way and it worked and mobo saw the sata HDD. give this a shoot good luck and finally make sure raid is disabled
this is what i would do
1- make sure the jumper setting on your IDE Hdd is correct (Y may have to try this twice as there are two different setting on jumper setting for Master)
2- connect the sata HDD
3-click on power
4-go to bios and disable raid save exit
5-on reboot go back to bios
6--on first option click on it then you should see all devices that can be seen by mobo if you do not see sata HDD you have to click on enable for the auto to see the device once it sees the device save and exit. REMEMBER THE JUMPER SETTING ON IDE HDD CAN CAUSE PROB . SO try the other jumper setting for master, repeat this procedure once more hopefully you get it right

• NI Scope Sorf Front Panel will not detect NI PXI-5122

Hello,
I am trying to use NI Scope Soft Front Panel 2.7f0 to acquire simple waveforms;
however it will not detect my NI PXI-5122. I have confirmed that the digitizer
works under MAX 4.2.1 and can see waveforms under the test panel. I have
installed NI Scope 3.3.1 on my machine and have updated the driver on the PXI
to version 3.3.1. Any ideas on what is wrong?
~Buck

It is unclear from your post whether or not the 5122 is on the same physical device as you are running the soft front panel (SFP). The SFP only works on local devices. It does not have the capability to attach to RT or remote systems (MAX does). However, if you are running Windows on your PXI controller or are using MXI to control the chassis, there is another issue.

• Set up from creative down load does not detect any sound blaster audigy mess

I have a sound blaster audigy with no installation cd. I installed the card to download the drivers. The detection software on the site said there was no creative product installed.
I downloaded the web update file and saved to my desk top. Ran the file after closinging all apps and got a message that there was no audigy detected. Reinstalled the card, same, did it again in another pci slot.
Tried finding a driver in xp, found one for soundblaster. No sound at all with this xp driver. I do not have intergrated sound on the abit k7rsa board. How do you install the driver if the set up program stops you because it does not see the device, and with no install cd? Thanks for any help.
Tony

I have the same problem. About a year ago I threw out all my driver cd's because they were really piling up and i figured i'd never need them because I've been able to download all the driver's i've ever needed from company websites.
NOT SO with Creative.
I have the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum (the one with the ports for the front of the computer). I recently had to reinstall my OS. I got the soundcard to work, but all the optional components I had before (like the ability to use the remote control to control sound, and the EAX console etc) are gone. I tried to download these components from the website (it's really hard to tell which is which, so i downloaded them all). They will NOT install! I keep getting the error message "Setup did not detect required components, Setup will exit" on all the download software.
This is extremely frustrating because I'm unable to setup the speakers properly (windows speaker settings don't really work).
I did manage to do the automatic update thing, but it only updates the core drivers.
PLEASE HELP!
I paid $200 bucks for this card (granted, that was a couple years ago), so I should be able to at least download the same software that came with the product!
Please have a professional (not an engineer without user interface experience) design the download area too...it is extremely difficult to understand what the individual components really do! At the very least, when you download them...they should work!
Thanks.

• Could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on xp sp2 Sys

I have Audigy Platinum and trying to install to a recently re-installed windows xp sp2 system. On my previous install everything was working fine and now I am looking to install the newest drivers and the error comes up [color="#ff3300">"could not detect Sound Blaster Audio Card on system". The strange thing is windows recognizes the card and will install it's drivers, but when I go to install the latest driver update I get the error. In addition, I also tried to run the install from my original disk.
I also?un-installed the devices showing? in the windows device manager, then tried and the same error, I even tried it in safe mode. Any ideas? Thanks and Advance,Mikel

Yes i think the real lesson here is not to buy creative,. i have the same problem with their junky card, so i guess ill just have to take buisness somewhere else. if you all do the same perhaps the threat of them going out of buisness will have them deal with their problems. if not atleast we saved others the headache of learning this lesson.

• Viewsonic VG2030wm not detected on DVI

Hello,
I got a MacBook Pro 13' and purchased at the same time a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to use with my ViewSonic VG2030wm. To my surprise, when I connected the monitor absolutely nothing happened, it goes completely undetected. The monitor works perfectly fine with a PC using an Nvidia 8600 through the DVI connector. I tried with both a single and dual link cable. I seem to be not the only one with this problem since I've found a few posts around but with no answers.
Later I exchanged the DVI adapter for a VGA one and the monitor worked fine but I would like to be able to use the DVI quality. I've asked twice at the Apple store and nobody has heard of such a problem. The monitor specs say it has a DVI-D (with HDCP) port.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hector

I had/have the same problem with a MacMini (with an Intel GMA 950), VG2030wm monitor and DVI cable. It worked fine with a VGA cable (but I had to use SwitchResX to pick the native 1680x1050 resolution).
I partially solved the problem (in Mac OS X 10.6) by unplugging both the MacMini and VG2030wm from the wall for 1-2 minutes (to reset the VG2030wm's settings?), and then resetting the MacMini's PRAM (by pressing and holding Command + Option + P + R while booting).
Unfortunately, I still have problems (black screen or native resolution not detected) when I restart o wake up the MacMini. The workaround I have found is to turn off the monitor (with the button on the front panel), wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again (and repeat) until the Mac Mini's picks up the monitor at 1680x1050 resolution.
I think there should be a way to force (instead of detecting) the EDID display information of the VG2030wm in Mac OS X by editing the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist, but I don't know how to do it (or if it's possible at all).
Hope it helps a little.

• How to manually install driver? Not detecting sound c

Hi,
My problem is when installing off the cd and off the downloaded driver it will not detect a creative product. I have li've! 5. with windows SP2. All I want to do is install the driver, doing it the windows search way does not work.
I want do MANUALLY do it, where are the sound card drivers located in windows so I can extract the files to there?
KX project makes my front speakers sound like rear so that is not a fix.

How to manually install drivers. Explore your installation CD or also the extracted creative downloaded web drivers (Use winrar to extract the exe file to your hard dri've)?Location of the "Creative Driver Update Utility"?X:\Audio\Drivers\?Double-click the file "Setup.exe"
Make sure "Driver Installation" box is checked and also check the box "Overwrite existing shared Creative audio driver files"?Click "OK"?This will take sometime to install the drivers. You'll be?asked to reboot?your computer. Thats it!

• Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy card on your system

Hi from Barcelona!
I've a Soun Blaster Audigy card (Model: SB0090)
I tried to install the Audigy software and drivers from the original product CD but Setup was unable to find Augigy hardware and halted the installation!
"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program"
By the way. Manually the sound drivers can be installed working only front speakers of the 5. Creative system
I tried a clean installation of Windows XP and Windows 2000 PRO (reformatted the hard dri've) but Audigy install CD still could not find Audigy hardware.
I've changed the card to a different PCI slot with the same results!!! Damaged?
What is happening? I need a solution!! Many users have this problem to with other Sound Blaster cards and models...

ADSLNEW wrote:
It seems to be an important BUG of Creative Sound Blaster Audigy cards related with EEPROM!!!
Yes, indeed, that is my theory as well. After much ****hing and on-line research, it seems that this problem has been around since 2002. From Creative Labs point of view, it appears they view this as "pilot error" -- the user has installed the card in a system that is not fully compliant with the latest standards -- specifically Microsofts ACPI (configuration and power management). A wide variety of configurations and/or actions seem to cause the PCI subsystem ID in the Audigy EEPROM to be erroneously overwritten -- including certain older motherboards, certain older PCI cards, and perhaps other actions.
Once the subsystem ID in the EEPROM is overwritten and has garbage information, many or all of the Creative applications cease working and various sound problems can arise. Attempts to reinstall the driver or update to the latest driver consistently fail becuase of the dreaded "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy card in your system..." error message.
There appear to be four fixes:
) Get a replacement Audigy card from Creative, but only after you perform their prescribed troubleshooting steps to prove that the card is indeed the source of the problem. Apparently, the steps include installing the card in another PC. Apparently, Creative in Europe is more willing to replace your card than Creative in the US. It's up to Creative Labs whether or not they issue you an RMA ("Return Material Authorization").
However, this fix will fail if the root causes of the EEPROM error are not corrected. Apparently, Creative Tech Support isn't always a foolproof source of guidance, so the burden is on you. The root cause MUST be corrected before the new card is installed, or the same problem will happen all over again. Eliminating the root cause may involve replacing your motherboard, replacing other PCI cards, or manual configuration (disabling ACPI).
2) Reprogramming the EEPROM. This is for advanced PC owners only, because it involves desoldering the EEPROM, programming it, and resoldering (and even lifting some pins to prevent reprogramming). There are instructions on how to do this posted in the German Creative Labs discussion board, by a Russian (!). I have links for those who are interested.
3) Removing the Creative drivers and software (using Clean Sweep procedures and third party utilities), updating again using Windows XP SP2, then physically moving the card to different PCI slots (multiple times if necessary), until ACPI Bios writes the proper information into the EEPROM. You can then reload the drivers.
Again, the root causes of the problem must be removed or your fix will only be temporary (a day or two). This solution also seems to be very dependent on the specifics of your system (motherboard, PCI cards, etc.).
4) Some people have had success in by-passing the step in the driver installation process where they check for the Audigy card subsystem ID, using a utility called CTZAPxx on the installation CD. Then then manually install each of the applications they need to use.
5) Use the open source driver from the kX Project (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php). This driver (and associated utilities) does not depend on the detailed configuration of the card (i.e. they don't check subsystem ID) and appear to work fine even with cards with corrupted EEPROM.
This driver is aimed primarily at computer music applications, and opens up the on-card signal processing capabilities. The downside is that the Audigy 2 ZS does not have all of it's capabilities supported yet (e.g. Dolby Digital decoding, S/PIF passthrough, possibly some game sound features, THX, 24-bit recording, support for Hyperthreading CPUs, etc.). But scanning over the discussion boards, the user community seems to be MUCH happier with the performance and support associated with these drivers than with Creative's.
This is the direction I'm going. I'm not a big gamer and I don't really care about the latest in home theater audio performance. Basic 5. surround sound is all I care about, and I'm much more interested in computer music capabilities.
I have also lost faith in Creative Labs as a vendor to provide the support I want and need going forward. Just imagine if the Creative Labs were running the Space Shuttle program :smileysurprised:.

• Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy 2 on your Sys

Here's the deal. I have used my Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum without incedent for a long time with the following box:
Asus A7V333
XP 800
.5 GB DDR 2700
I changed cases, but all of the components remained the same. Everything else went like clockwork, but no Audigy.
So I did a clean and replace of the drivers, however, I had no Audigy CD. I ordered the CD from Creative, but it looks to be a CD for the Audigy 2 XS...will this work for the Audigy 2 Platinum?
So when I go to run the CD, I get the following error:
Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster Hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program
Setup will now exit.
I didn't change slots and the IRQ is still the same.
I can provide any additional documentation, i.e. screen shots of device manager, et al. to anyone interested in helping.
Also, if you li've in Chicago, I will get you drunk.
I am so irritated with this thing... I remember it being a pain in the @$$ to install the first time, but not like this.
Cheers,
-rob

Okay I ended up fixing this problem myself seeing as a lot of these forum topics just come to a dead end with no real resolution.
Let's get 'Creative' ...
I removed the reg entry hkey_local_machine/software/creative tech, removed all drivers, programs, and anything that even smelt faintly of creative.
Just to make sure I ran the CTZAPXX.exe on the cd and removed drivers again there also.
Then upon a swift reboot I used CTZAPXX.exe to install the drivers, ran the cd, unchecking the option at the bottom of the 'custom' install list to install windows drivers (as it had already been done)
Now I'm back in business
Though, all through the ages I've never had a creative soundcard, which hasn't given me trouble at some stage, man I even have shameful memories of my AWE64... Lift your game creative, you've got a great product line, just a pity the shoddy drivers sometimes let them down.
This post may be a little outdated, but it's really intended for all you googlers out there I really hope this fixes your problem!

• Dv9810us after recovery windows will not detect the wireless card that is bulit into the computer.

After running the recovery (Vista 32) from the recovery partition my computer no longer sees the Wifi card installed.
There is nothing in device manager, the hp wireless wizard doesn't detect anything. I went to HP's site and download the 3 different wifi drivers that it would be and installed them. I can not rememeber what the adapter was.,. thats a problem.
This system was a refurbed unit when I bought it, if the salesman was correct it was recalled because of a faulty Wireless card. I wonder if they replaced the card with one that the restore partition installation could not detect.
Any ideas?

first make sure the wifi is turned on either by a switch located on the front of keyboard or a soft touch icon near the display.. if you have the soft touch make sure it's blue in color if its orange its turned off
