X Fi Probs: Working properly, yet says no audio devic

Hi there, I had my computer all setup and everything was working fine.
I clicked on the speaker icon today in the taskbar and it said that no device was found.
Ok so I troubleshooted on windows and still nothing.
The device is a Creative X FI Xtrememusic. It is installed, works properly, and from device manager and control panel I have enabled it in all aspects.
Audio/MIDI/Mixer - all enabled and fuctioning.
Yet when I go back to control panel/ sound and audio devices it says on the volume tab there there is no device... wtf? It is also greyed out and I cannot click on anything.
Also on the audio tab it is greyed out and says there there are no playback devices and no recording deviced and no midi playback devices either. (Yet I enabled them?)
I still hear sound from aim and my computer, but when I tried to add a song to current playlist via media player it says this:
"Windows Media PLayer cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
? Only thing running in tasks is trillian, firefox, and creative's own mediasourse program.
PLEASE NOTE:
I fixed this by switching it to another PCI slot. Everything worked for a day. The next time I turned on the computer the card only read for about 5 minutes. System sounds and aim sounds still work. I cant play music or videos. I've switched PCI slots again, restarted, and it only reads for a limited time.
Not sure if when I updated windows and my chipset if something happened. Or if my soundcard and/or mobo is defected. Also I'm using the OEM driver that came on the creative cd.

Are those time limited drivers for some sort of beta version though? I'm using the current release version, and when I reinstalled the drivers, I re-downloaded from the creative site. Of course, that doesn't mean they AREN'T the issue. It's such a strange problem that the sound just stopped yet device manager reports no problems.

Just tested something and it worked.
If I put the headphones all the way in, the mac recognizes it as a digital output.
But if i don't put it all the way in, it recognizes it as headphones and works perfectly.
It's probably this crappy headphones.
If anyone has the same problem, try this out.

iPhone has been set up to wirelessly sync when on charge yet I get this error when the iPhone is not even charging!
I work for a mobile network operator and although this isn't something we support anyway, we would usually stumble across something like this when customers call us for advice prior to contacting the manufacturer for support, yet this hasn't been a call driver so I'd imagine this is isolated... (either that or not many people have updated their device and set up the wireless sync lol)...

Speakers Work, but it shows "No audio devices are installed"

An automatic update occured, and a blank box popped up continuously(Titled: C:/swsetup/sp59654/IDTSetup.exe)
I was using my USB headset during that update, then all of a sudden they stop working and only my speakers were working, and no devices were being shown under playback devices nor under recording devices.
I have show disabled/disconnected devices checked.

HP pavilion g6 says no audio devices are installed?

My laptops internal mic has stoped working and is now saying there are no audio devices installed? The speakers, and the web cam work fine but the mic has stopped working.

Try installing HP Support Assistant which will automatically download and install drivers/updates:

Also, download and install any firmware, BIOS or reinstall sound application from hp.com

Firefox stopped working properly, it says it cannot initialize the applications security component...

Firefox starts with this: Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.
it then opens and will not let me click anything, just opens the homepage and stops, tried reinstalling and it still doesn't work.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Is ilife 09 working properly yet?

i saw sooo many awful reviews on here and places such as amazon that there were crashes and lots of things going wrong with it.
my dad was so upset he went back and restored ilife 08!
so.. i have it, but not sure wether to install it yet? are there patches or fixes?
what do people think? i really wanna make use of a few new imovie 09 features but am hesitant...

I upgraded from 08 to 09 some time ago and have not had any issues.
I have made several movies, burnt DVD's uploaded to YouTube and not a glitch.
To answer your question, there was a significant software update for iLife 09 last week.

Are iWeb '08 and MobileMe working properly yet?

I have just bought iLife '08, and been exploring my MobileMe account (been a .Mac user for 4+ years) but read on this forum recently that some of you guys were having major issues with iWeb '08, MobileMe and publishing your iWeb sites.
Are the known issues resolved?
It would be nice to install the new software this week - I have one website in iWeb, published thru my .Mac / MMe account. I haven't made any updates to it since the MMe switch.

I cannot sync my iPhone or iPad to iTunes. When I plug my devices into my PC, iTunes recognizes them, but just after they're recognized iTunes freezes. My iTunes works properly as long as no devices are connected. Can someone please help?

Both my iTunes and iPhone/iPad are using the most current software. I've tried deauthorizing and deauthorizing my computer, but nothing helps.

TS1574 no audio is working on imac and no audio device available to choose from

I am receiving no audio out of my IMac and no option to choosing the internal speakers device. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Originally thought is might have been a virus but down loaded software and no fix to solution.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article.
2. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and a red light is coming from it, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
3. Boot in safe mode. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears.
4. Reset the NVRAM.
5. Reset the SMC.
6. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
7. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

How do I get my sound to work in Vista using bootcamp? It says no audio output device is installed.

Bootcamp 3.2: Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort Adapter shows "device is not working properly...Code 31"

Using Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter shows the "device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).".The device is the Apple iMac10,1 All-in-one computer. Right clicking browse files (for the device) shows the Bootcamp (C:), DVD (D:); and my external hard drives can be selected.
Internet and WiFi connections all working ok. Am also running MacDrive 8 to access the Mac drives when in the Windows partition, again without any seeming issues.
Updating the driver simply generates another Code 31 error.
Appreciate this seems to be a known problem - is the a solution a novice use might be able to follow or should I simply ignore the error message?
Driver Date us 21/06/2006 and Driver Version is 6.1.7600.16385.

I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 4-1204tx Ultrabook and issues with WiFi adapter is not working properly. Error codes in Device Manager in Windows 8.1 could be fixed by deleting any extra drivers. So I would uninstall all that is listed in the Network drivers in the Device Manager, restart the Notebook. Here is a list of Device Manager options, this might help.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating or reinstalling. Hope this helps. Thanks.

[FINALLY SOLVED] "Audio device not detected by EAX Console/Speaker Setting Panel" Prob

PROBLEM: A message pops up saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected" when clicking on any Creative Utilities like EAX Console or the Speakers Control Panel.
SOLUTION: After 6 hours of trying out all solution advices/attempts for the problem above, I figured that there are only 2 ways to get rid of this issue.
