X-Fi SB 1090 USB - No 5.1 Surround Sound - Windows 7

Hardware: X-Fi SB090 USB 5.1 soundcard.
Operating Systems: Windows 7 Professional Edition
Notebook computer: Dell Latitude D620 w/ 2GB RAM
Latest Drivers installed including Beta.
Recei'ver: Denon AVR 60 connected via, Toslink (optical). Recei'ver is set to Auto. Other options : PCM or DTS.
Setting the Entertainment console to 5.1 Speakers, only Main Left and Right channel can be heard. Rest of the channels are inaudible.
The last time I tested was when the Laptop was running Windows XP OS and used my old Marantz SR 680 Receiver which was just Dolby Digital.
Any suggestions or ideas?

I am playing DVDs and MP4 or AVI that has 6 channel audio. I am decoding the audio with my Denon AVR Recei'ver. The Denon Recei'ver decodes DVDs played on my BD player via, HDMI.
If I play DVDs from my Optoma DV-0 Projector, the Decoder via the same Toshlink - Optical link works and proper 5.1 channel decoding occurs.
It looks like this is a Windows 7 drivers for the Unit.

I want to boot up with a USB key to install a new VM on Windows 7. I heared that Microsoft Virtual PC begins to support USB device on Windows 7. How can i configure it? I don't find any virtual USB device in VM settings on my Windows 7 box.

Virtual PC does not support USB. Windows 7 XP Mode Virtual Machine supports the use of USB devices. Virtual PC and Windows 7 XP Mode VM are not the same thing!

USB 3.0 Not working in Windows 8

Hello all,
I have a msi 990xa-gd55 and cannot get my usb 3.0 to work with windows 8. Everything worked when I had windows 7 installed, tried installing the windows 7 drivers but they do not work. There is no usb 3.0 windows 8 driver on the download page, anyone else having this problem or found a solution?

No I am not using the most recent bios, just the one that came with it when I bought it. It worked when I had it installed with windows 7, then i had it out for maybe 3 months and built a new comp with it. Do you think flashing to the latest bios would solve the problem? It could not hurt i guess. Also, yes, usb 3.0 is enabled in the bios.

I have a THREE MONTH OLD Zen Mx 6gb. I noteced the past several weeks on playback it has started to "miss" or "hiccup" while playinmg back songs. Annoying.
NOW, when I attach it via USB it causes a flag to jump up? above the bottom toolbar that says "USB device not recognized"? One of the devices attached has malfunctioned. Try re-connecting or replacing the unit"
I have tried every port, same thing. I plugged it into two different computers and got the same message.
It still charges and plays what little I have loaded on it, (only about 250 songs)? I just can't add anything.
I have searched for this extensi'vely and the 'help' function on windows is no help at all.

I used to same cable to attach my Motorola Razr and the computer correctly found it and identified it as such.
I also tried another cable (brand new) same thing.
I went to recovery mode and did a "CLEAN UP" but no dice.
I also got my I.S. tech guy to look into it and on the USB page it say "UNKNOWN DEVICE"? when he tried to delete it it did not help, it just reappears as "UDVC"? Also in looking into it it seems to have no drivers.
He came to this site and tried to do somethinm through here but it did'nt work.
Now in listening to it last night it began to 'skip' or what I call 'HICCUP" terribly. Where a song starts and stops, during the middle of it. ? It's always done it a little but it has been getting more and more common and now? It's WAY worse about it.
It has never been dropped, or nishandled in any way. I bought the clear hard case to protect it. And only has about 300 songs on it. Never used for anything else. No vids no pics, nothing.

my usb & sdcard port wont work in windows 7, also i cant install drivers for coprocesor and the sm bus controller, I have a macbook pro 13" A1278,
I have tryed to install the drivers from the osx cd, but to no avail it just wont work,
Please can anyone help

the reason i ask is base system device can be a few differant things but about 90% of what i have seen it show up is the card reader. try to uninstall anything in device manager that has to do with the mic and restart the laptop. this will allow windows to try to find and install the correct drivers. also open realtek HD audio manager and make sure the mic is not muted.

Why is my USB DAQ device not detected by Windows?

Hello,
I had my USB-6229 connected to my PC (Windows 7 64bit) this morning and everything was fine: Windows detected the device, the device showed up on on NI MAX, and testing through NI MAX was successful. I then installed the NI DAQmx 9.8 driver to replace the NI DAQmx 9.6 driver that I was using (the DAQ Assistant icon in my functions menu in LabVIEW 2013 was not present, and this upgrade fixed that issue). Unfortunately, Windows now no longer recognizes the same DAQ device that worked earlier this morning.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Uninstalling the 9.8 driver and re-installing the 9.6
Tested another USB DAQ device; Windows could not detect it either
None of the DAQ devices register on WIndows's device manager (usb ports not broken, as the flash drives I inserted showed up on device manager)
As expected, none of the devices show up on NI MAX
Does anyone have any suggestions on what may have happened when I upgraded from the 9.6 driver to the 9.8?

Thanks for your reply, Philip. Yes, I did reboot my computer after installing the driver.
I contacted NI support, and we were unable to reach a solution, so, as a last effort, re-installed the driver for the third time, which finally worked. I'm not sure what the problem was, but here are some extra steps I took before re-installing the driver that may benefit those who encounter a similar problem:
1. As Philip mentioned, start the NI Device Loader if it has not been started or stop/start it if it has. The startup status ought to be set to "automatic." You can find the NI Device Loader by starting Task Manager, selecting the "Services" tab, then selecting the "Services" button. Scroll down the list until you find it.
2. Open up Device Manager and search for your device (mine was labeled as "unidentifiable"). Right click and select "Properties." Select the "Driver" tab. You may need to manually select the driver folder, which should be located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS.

IdeaPad N581 USB 3.0 Treiber für Windows 8.1

ich habe ein IdeaPad N581 mit Windows 8.1.
Bei mir funktioniert leider kein USB 3.0, d.h. ich bekomme nur langsame Übertragungsraten. An meiner Externen und an dem USB Stick kann es nicht liegen, die Geräte funktionieren an anderen PCs mit voller Geschwindigkeit.
Im Gerätemanager habe ich auch zwei Einträge mit gelbem Ausrufezeichen.
Leider ist auf der Lenovo Seite weder Chipset noch USB 3.0 Treiber verfügbar.
Wie kann ich die Treiber nun nachinstallieren?

Ich habe jetzt alles installiert außer Intel Management Engine Interface, Intel WiMax Driver, WLAN Driver (Liteon/Atheros) und Lenovo Power Management.
Der Treiber für den Cardreader hat den Eintrag "USB2.0-CRW" entfernt. Die USB Geschwindigkeit liegt aber weiterhin an den USB3.0 Ports bei maximal 25MB/s.

Ich wollte noch erwähnen, dass die USB Geschwindigkeit vor dem Update von Windows 8 auf 8.1 auch nicht schneller war.

HS 1000 USB with creative x-fi sound card

I've a question for creative: why in your website don't you say that the headset disable any soundcard and sets itself as the default audio device? That's because I've already a creative x-fi soundcard and when i bought this product i expected to make the most of its capability since i have both soundcard and headset of creative. Now what should i do considering that i would get a better sound plugging an headset directly into my soundcard?

I own one Dell and 4 Mac's (for my creative work) including one top of the line MacPro, and I, too, have the 5.1 (and beyond!) sound problem issue. I agree with you that it is terrible that, in my case, after spending $12,000 for this bleeding edge technology, it only comes with stereo capability! When I used my older G-4, I was extremely happy for years with the Revolution 7.1 Surround Sound Card, by a great company called M-Audio. This card worked seamlessly right out of the box.....the software was so easy to use, too. So, naturally I was really shocked and bummed out a few months ago, when I learned from their tech support and sales team there, that no, this card will NOT work on the MacPro.

The new Intel based Mac Pro desktop computers, as well as the latest generation DualCore PowerMac G5's, have PCI-Express slots, and not PCI or PCI-X (Like the Delta/Revolution Series cards). For these reasons, a PCI-Express type motherboard connector (or "slot") is physically different from a PCI or PCI-X type connector. Blue Screen of Death and USB malfunctions on HP Envy running Windows 7

Hello.
I have an HP Envy 14 notebook PC. It's running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, version 6.1.7601. When I run it, I eventually starts getting an error message from the right of the desktop toolbar telling me that a USB device I plugged in is malfunctioning and did not get installed correctly. This is happening while my USB ports are empty.
As this is happening, the computer also starts playing background static that you can hear over headphones as well. This sound goes away once you mute the machine. After plugging the computer into a monitor to play sound through its speakers, there is also a curious effect; after I remove all the cords and plug in earphones, I hear amplified booming sounds from small movements, rather than what is meant to be playing. This latter effect goes away once I restart the computer,
Eventually, the computer displays a blue screen and crashes. The blue screen asks me to disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. Once the machine restarts, it informs gives me the following report:

I have the same issue you have had. This happend to my old hp, I thought it was a fluke so when I bought my new hp envy a year ago I was dumbfounded to see that its happening all over again. This time my hp envy 14 is doing the same thing yours did with the same code and all. Can you please tell me what you did to fix this or were you even able to fix it at all?

Usb 3 device "partially" recognized by windows 7 pro

I have an usb 3 device which was perfectly working with my previous Computer (Windows 7 Pro usb 2 facilities).
Now I have a new computer (Windows 7 Pro usb 3 facilities) but my usb 3 device is not recognized thru the usb 3. If I plug it into an usb 2 (still available) it works, but the system tells me that it would be better to use an usb 3 port since it would be
faster... but it doesn't recognized it!
Could it be due because that device was previously formatted thru an usb 2 port?
Could somebody help me? (PS I tried roughly all steps suggested on the previous discussions)

USB-6009 with Labview 2014 on Windows 8.1

Hi,
I have trouble connecting USB-6009 OEM with my new laptop with windows 8.1. My USB-6009 OEM device is not shown up in NI Max. So when I check Device Manager, there is a question mark on "NI USB-6009 OEM FW". I tried to install Labview 2011 but still the same. When I tried to choose the driver in Device Manager manually, I can only find NI-VISA driver as the closest one. It is still not working when I open DAQmx to check my card. It is still not detected in NI Max and anywhere within labview. When I used NI-VISA driver, and try to connect the device in NI Max, I get timeout error. I think I need to see NI-USB driver instead of NI-VISA driver. Any help would be appreciated.

You may also want to try reinstalling the DAQmx 14.5 driver first. DAQmx 14.5 is supported on Windows 8.1. Some of the driver files may have been corrupted and reinstalling the driver may solve the issue. If not, using the DAQmx Base driver could be a good option as Dennis suggested.

HP Pavilion G6-2244NR network, usb, wireless problems after downgrade to Windows 7

HP Pavilion G6-2244NR with networking issues. Okay, so I have a G6-2244NR that I had to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro 64 (SP1), due to problems with software compatibility. Install was originally done on UEFI GPT, wiped 8 and started from scratch with Legacy support MBR. Install went perfectly fine. However, I boot into 7 and I get the Network icon showing a red X. I then go into manager and note that there are no networking devices listed. Instead I have 8 devices listed under "Other Devices" with yellow exclamations by each of them. This includes the Bluetooth Controller, the Ethernet Controller, the Network Controller, a PCI device, the SM Bus Controller, two USB controllers, and an "Unknown Device". Bluetooth ID is ven_1814&dev 3298, Ethernet ID PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136, and so on. I have downloaded drivers out the wazoo. I think I updated the chipset but not sure if right chipset updates (Catalyst 12.6). Still no luck. Every time I try and install what I think are correct drivers I get a "Device not working" error on the LAN card. Can anyone help??
