X-FI Titanium digital in question

Hello,
Here is my problem.
I have a Stanton T.90 turntable that has an spdif output that I would like to use to connect to my soundcard.
In order to do just that, I also bought an spdif/toslink converter. I did some tests on my sound system and everything works fine.
So I use the same setup and hook up the turntable to my X-FI titamium and ... no sound. At all.
Might be a problem with the soundcard. So I plug my dvd player to the soundcard using a toslink cable. Evreything works fine.
So my question is, why isn's an spdif/toslink converter working woth this soundcard while any other digital sources working? :smileysurprised:
I'm using Vista x64?SP2.
Any ideas?

Yes, thank you, much more readable.
I agree that you should probably do a complete uninstall and reinstall. Use a driver cleaner if you have one you are familiar with, just in case. And you can try going into device manager and seeing if there are any Creative entries, and use the uninstall (with delete driver software option checked) function there.
Be sure to only use the drivers and software from the CD; there are not currently any downloadable Titanium drivers. There is an ALchemy and wavestudio update you can apply after you install from the CD, if you end up using either of those applications.
Post if you have further issues, but hopefully that will do the trick.

  • X-Fi titanium digital output

    ? Hello,
I'm planning to buy the X-Fi titanium sound card to use it with my digital home theatre. As I read the specifications, the card can only output digital signal through optical signal. My home theatre only have coaxial digital input. My question is if I can use jack to rca adaptor plugged in the card and enable digital output signal in control panel. I used this function succesfully with older SB Li've 5. and Audigy 2 NX but I'm not sure with XFI titanium card. I know about the digital I/O module but I couldn't find at any store in my country.
Can anyone help or maybe can test this?
    Thanks

    Dear sir:
I have called Creative Labs for 3 months looking to buy the Digital I/O Module. They continued to tell me they were out and did not know when they would be in. April st I called again, and what do you know? They had them. I ordered it and it arri'ved in about fi've days. So you may have luck ordering these in your country. I have looked online for the last few months as well and many of the places that I looked were waiting for Creative Labs to restock the part. So be sure to check back with anyone you may have tried to order from.

  • WS Security digital certificate question

I have a BPEL process which I have secured using OWSM. I am using digital certificates which I have generated using the keytool command.
Say I have two clients A and B and both have their certificates and send the messages. The request contains a field called sender. A should specify this field as A, and B should specify this as B. How do I verify that A send the message in which the the sender is specified as A.
I want to validate against the digital certificate belongs to sender A. He does not fool me by providing the certificate of A but in the message sends the sender as B.
Is this scenario valid? If yes how to resolve if not why not?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Sash

this is not really a certificate issue. Its more of your application / process and where you want to handle this validation. (either at OWSM or else where).
When Sender A is digitally signing the message it is coming only from A (unless the private key / cert is stolen, etc). It A itself sends wrong value for sender field, they are not sending message as per your schema.
To answer your question, yes you can validate if the sender field matches with one of the fields in your cert such as Organization Name or you can map to your database. You have to write a custom step in OWSM to match the certificate information with the sender field.
    Thanks

  • What formatting/zooming features do YOU use in Photoshop CS6? (Digital art question)

Hi, I am a beginner dabbling in digital art, and I was wondering what format you use. Examples include "Default Photoshop size", "U.S. Paper", "Web", etcetera. I feel that the paper, without doing anything to it, is too small for details.
Also, when what do the pros in digital art do as for zooming in? Do they set it "Fit on screen", "100%", "200%"? I'm talking about maybe concept paintings that have very small and fine details.
Sorry my questions are sort of awkwardly-phrased. I don't know the correct terminology.

The size and resolution depends on the intended output.
In my opinion relevant zooming shortcuts would be cmd-0 (View > Fit on Screen), cmd-1 (View > 100%) and cmd-spacebar/cmd-alt-spacebar to temporarily switch the current Tool to the Zoom Tool.

  • X-Fi Fatal1ty - Digital Out questions

Hey everyone, I've done a bit of reading on this, but I'm still confused.
First, some background. I've been looking for a small speaker solution where I don't have to run speakers to the back of my office. I've decided to go with the Pioneer HTS-GS - it's branded as an Xbox Home Theater in a box. What I like about this system is that it will do a "spatial surround" and let me keep the rear speakers on my desk. It also has multiple inputs so I can hook up my xbox as well.
Now on to my question. I have the X-Fi Fatalty. I've read the sticky post stating that with PC games, "The EAX processing is done on the soundcard, and the 6-channel sound is output via the analogue (or digital DIN if available)." So - that confuses me a bit. I ran through the speaker connectivity wizard. There's an image in there that shows I can use the mini digital DIN connection to connect to a coax digital port (see here: http://ask.americas.creative.com/wwimages/speakers/xfi_xtrememusic_digital_speakers.jpg).
Now - does that mean that EAX will pass through and I'll have surround while playing games? Sorry for my confusion. I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing...
    Thanks!

I have the exact same problem with my Fatalty sound card! So if anyone has a solution to this problem please replay.

  • Digital ID Question

Hi, I'm quite new to this, so sorry if this sounds like a silly question. I have a form that I've developed using livecycle and need to distribute it to companies that will then pass it on to employees (maybe 50 companies with 10 to 70 employees each).
I've figured out that I can encrypt the document and include users in the encryption if I have exchanged public keys, which seems to work very well. However, I don't want the form to be used for any longer than 12 months, can I change the expiry date of the encrypting certificate? Could I purchase a digital ID from verisign and set my own expiry date?
I have spent days now trying to find the answer to this and it's driving me mad. The form will not have net access as it will be used on laptops away from the workplace.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Sean

Since the extensions were brought up, they are only needed if you were to need the save of the file. If you have folks submit data to a web server (not the entire form), then it is not a problem. They should still be able to print the data. Since your setup looks like it would exceed the 500, you would need to call Adobe an negotiate a price if you need to use it.
As for your basic question, the other post suggested the best way to set and expiration. Other than that, you may be able to write some JavaScript that would simulate the same phenomena. You might want to ask in the scriptiong forum for related information -- I am not really a JavaScript programmer.

  • Sound Blaster Z Digital Input Question

    Hi,
Problem: PS4 connects via HDMI cable to my speaker-less monitor, cannot connect the PS4 to my stereo system since there is no separate analogue connector to use (there was on the PS3 but not on the PS4) and my stereo does not have a Digital Input connector (it's old).
Solution?: If I get hold of a Sound Blaster Z, can I connect the Digital Output from the PS4 into the Digital Input on the SBZ and therefore output my PS4 sound through my PC?
This is a relatively cheap solution for me so I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me a heads up on whether this is possible. Apologies if this is a straightforward/dumb question. I want to doublecheck before dropping the cash.
    Thanks for reading,

    Hi Yosharian,
Do you want to consider getting the Recon3D USB instead? The price is almost the same as the Sound Blaster Z and it can function alone without the computer. You may be able to save on your electricity bills using the Recon3D USB instead.
Here is an illustration of the Recon3D Omega Wireless connecting to the PS4 using SPDIF input. The Recon3D Omega Wireless is actually the Recon3D USB with a Tactic Link card connected to it and a wireless headset.

  • ITunes Connect Application - Digital Rights Question

I'm in the process of applying through iTunes connect to publish several e-books on iBooks. I was a little unclear about two questions, and wanted to see if you could resolve this for me. In the application, it's asking to list the # of titles with digital rights and the # of titles with digital rights in PDF format. When Apple says digital rights, does it mean that you own the rights to the book both in print format and digital format? So in essence you have rights to the book digitally? Or is it alluding to DRM (Digital Rights Management)? I have 6-10 books I'd like to get onto iBooks, they all have a ISBN #s both for print and electronic versions, they'll be in epub format, etc. They've been physically printed as books as well. Could you please give explanation to this part of the application. Thank you very much.

OK. Thanks. I guess it is just a matter of waiting.

  • Digital Magazine Questions - Photos and Sizing

I am in the process of helping to create a digital magazine.  As I have never participated in this medium before, I have some questions.  Before I really start laying out my project in InDesign, does anyone have thoughts on page sizing?  We plan to publish our magazine via 3D Issue, with a primary goal of it being viewed on desktops and laptops.  What size should I make my pages?
Also, photography is playing a key role in this magazine.  What file format, size, etc should I use?  I tried putting some full page photos into a mockup I was working on, and they came out all blurry.  Sugestions?
I am using a Mac Pro running Adobe Creative Cloud, and ID CS6.
    Thanks!

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for the reply.
So I was thinking this could be an inactive PDF viewable via Acrobat Reader or a browser, and or iPad / Tablet magazine.
Ideally I would export one file to all formats if possible?

  • Digital Adapter questions?

I am thinking about switching to FiOS. My problem is that with cable you can run it to different TV's by splitting to other TV's. You only get basic cable. My question is that if i get FiOS can i split like i did with cable OR do i have to get a digital adapter and split from that? Thank you all that reply

keep in mind (from what I have read), that Comcast will soon no longer allow you to view their channels without a box of some kind.
I was unaware that verizon is offering free digital adapters now.  however, from my experience with them, they are awful.  very slow to react, quality is poor, and you cannot even view the channel number.  if you plan on using the tvs with the digital adapters more than once a week, then I would highly recommend going with their standard digital box instead.
also, consider this as well, if your tvs have a a QAM tuner, then you will be able to get the local channels without a box/adapter.
You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there. --Yogi Berra

  • New Switcher digital video questions

    Hi all,
I am a new switcher as of 2 weeks ago when I picked up a new iMac. So far I love it but I do have a few questions. I imported a TON of miniDV video (150GB). I noticed on one tape that the clock had been set wrong. It now shows up in the wrong folder under iMovie. Any way I can change the files to reflect the right date so it gets put in the right place?
Also, I just tried to run iDVD. It will not run, it seems to just start and quit. Anyone else have this problem?

Unix provides a function known as Touch which will modify the dates modified and created for files. You can learn more about it here:
    http://www.osxfaq.com/man/1/touch.ws
If you open the application Terminal in Applications -> Utilities, and drag the said file after inserting the touch command of your choice (providing a space between the complete command sequence and allowing the path of the file to show up), and then hit the enter key, you will be able to modify the date created and modified on the Finder. I don't know how iMovie sequences its own folders, but that's how to change the Finder info for the file.
If iDVD doesn't work you may have insufficient space to create a temporary file, or something else is the matter. How much free space do you have? Is your new iMac one with a Superdrive according to the box?

  • Digital Camera Questions

So how do I send files TO my digital camera? Every time I connect a digital camera it opens iPhoto and then prompts a file transfer TO my Mac, but how do I manipulate the files OUTSIDE of iPhoto? And I can't find a way to send pictures to the camera and onto the SD memory card. Besides showing up in iPhoto, I can't find a single place where the camera is recognized by my Mac. Isn't there a way to manipulate and transfer the files of the camera outside of any program, say through Finder? I need to transfer an old photo to the card in my camera so I can take it to the local drug store to have it printed. I'm new to Mac, and I would do this in Windows by simply opening the camera in the Windows Explorer window by dragging and dropping. I have to be missing something because only being able to use a camera through iPhoto seems immensely limiting, especially for a computer like this that prides itself on media functionality. Thanks

No offense, but I refuse to believe that Apple intended for me to buy an external card reader so that I could perform such basic functions as transferring files to and from a digital camera. Apple prides itself on media functionality, and REALLY is trying to avoid the stigma of incompatibility, which is what you were telling me, that my camera is incompatible with my Mac in the performance of receiving files. If iPhoto can recognize the presence of a digital camera, why couldn't the rest of the Mac? If it can access the files on that cameras digital card, why couldn't it place files on it? I have never ever ever ever heard of a computer that only allows one way transmission of data with an external device such as that. It makes no sense that Apple would only allow you to deal with digital cameras through iPhoto - that is extremely limiting, providing almost no functionality at all. And it's not the camera since I was able to do this with Windows. Did Apple purposely decide to NOT let you manipulate files outside of their programs??? Did they make it impossible for me to edit the files on my camera (a basic computer media function) without using iPhoto? Is there no way I can use a digital camera outside of iPhoto? What if I didn't want to use iPhoto at all?? And another thing, why doesn't everything I attach to this computer show up in the finder? Much less than half of the times I'll enter a cd will it show up in the finder. Much less than half of the times I attach any usb device (besides mice) like flash drives with music only on them show up in the finder. Am I crazy or does it make absolutely no sense whatsoever to only allow access to devices through predesignated and unchangeable programs created by Apple?

  • Complex Digital Sync question.......

    Ok here it goes.....
My rig consists of 4 G5 computers.....
The Main G5 runs L7.2 and has a FW Metric Halo ULN-2 connected to it...AND the RME HDSP 9652..........(its a card with 3 sets of ADAT Tos-Link connectors)
Now the other 3 slave G5s are all outfiitted with 1 PCMCIA ADAT card each.......
Now each Slave G5 feeds in/out to the RME 9652,
And I want my MH ULN-2 to be the clock feeding the RME.......
I then go and make an Aggregate device on which the MH ULN-2 is the first and the RME is the 2nd device.
How do I synch the RME to the clock of the Metric Halo?
    SvK

    One more question,
What are my cheapest (but working) options for ADAT PCI cards for my slaves?
(all i need is a PCI card with ADAT litepipe for the slaves........don't need SPDIF/MIDI/ etc etc.

  • ITunes And Digital Copy Question

sorry if this has been asked before but
is there a way to register all my digital copy blu rays onto my itunes and delete them so they dont take space away from my macbook pro?
i copied Juno onto the computer then deleted it, and they let me know that even if i delete the movie, it will stay in my itunes. But it doesnt, how do i/ can i redownload these movies anytime?
PS- reason why im doing this is because i notice Digital Copys expire, and i figured that if i load them up, i would be safe from them not expiring
    Message was edited by: Avalanche™

As I understand what you are trying to accomplish - copy the Bluray to iTunes so you can avoid an expiration date - then delete the items from iTunes to the trash.
If this is what you intend to do then the items are removed from iTune database and deleted from the HD when you empty the Trash.
A possible work around is when you want to d/l the Bluray after the expiration date is to reset your computers current date and time to an earlier date and time - then copy the items.
