X-Fi Titanium PCI EXPRESS and I/O Drive Upgrade

Hi!
Are those two products:
X-Fi Titanium PCI-E (Non Fatalty)
http://pl.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=208&product=7927
and
X-Fi I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit
http://pl.europe.creative.com/shop/product_bundles.asp?category=4&subcategory=0&produ ct=2&page=
compatible with each other?
If not which other X-Fi Titanium PCI-E Cards are compatible with this I/O Dri've?
Maybe X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Seriies or X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E?
Please help me, and thank you?

That I/O Dri've upgrade kit is not compatabile with any Titanium series card.
The Titanium Championship series has its own front bay, but it has slightly different functionality.
The Xtreme Audio PCI-E isn't a Titanium and I would recommend staying away from it in general; it doesn't have the hardware audio processing of the other 'real' X-Fi cards.

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Player

*X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Playerg Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me if the Creative Mediasource DVD-A player works with the X-Fi Titanium PCI-E card under Windows 7, or indeed, at all. I've just bought a Titanium card and when I try to install the DVD-A player (latest version....) I get a message, 'Set up can't find any supported product...' That wouild be a bummer as I have a fair number of DVD-A discs and I would like to play them on my PC. I know that Power DVD 8 Ultra will play them but does it downmix the audio streams or something like that. I have a Pioneer DVD-A player but it is more convenient to play them this way if it is possible. I laso have Windows Vista so if it's only a problem with the OS that would be a start.
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in anticipation
    Best Regards

    Hi Guys
Many, many thanks for all your help with this.....NOT!!!!
I really hate it when you come to forum to ask for help and everybody fecking ignores you....was the question too hard for you. I thought it was really simple, does the DVD-A player work with this card under this OS or not. I at least thought some of the Creative mods might help, I've just spent my hard earned cash on this card after all. As it is an X-Fi card I thought the DVD-A player would work okay but it doesn't so maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't know because I didn't get an answer.
    Thanks a whole bunch guys

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express: Are there Cracking & Popping issues with Battlefield 2 & 214

Ok, now Creative came out with X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express, which supposedly should fix the cracking and popping issues with Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 232 since Creative technical support said the probelm with X-Fi and Battlefield series lied in PCI bus. Now the new audio card is using PCI-E bus. So does anyone with X-Fi Titanium still hearing the cracking and popping sounds when artillery fires?

RB30, Do you also have the problem with your onboard audio?
I can only give you my experience and that is that the new titanium works in my set up and I do not have any popping issues in BF242. There are lots of hassles installing the drivers as detailed in other posts. Plus they treat the drivers like they are the crown jewels and do not have them for download on the web site.
The sound seems to be better than my onboard audio. Objects closer seem close and objects far away seem far away. I had an XtremeMusic card but I took it out since a problem always seemed to develop.
I did not see any noticable increase in performance but that may be due to the fact that the performance in my system seems to be video card limited and not cpu limited.
The EAX simulated 3D sound is excellent in BF242.
Here are my system specs. I could not tell if you have Vista 64 or 32. My system is 64 and it works.

    Intel QX6800
    Mushkin XP2 8500 4x2GB

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working

<font face="verdana, geneva" size="3">I can not get any signal to or from the front pannel connector of my X-Fi Titanium PCI Express. (The rear jacks are working fine.)
<font face="verdana, geneva" size="3">The front header cable from my Antec P-80B worked perfectly with my onboard motherboard sound. Now that I have it connected to my X-Fi I get nothing from the jacks on the front of my case. (The onboard sound is disabled in my BIOS.)? I've double and tripple checked the connection and it is properly keyed and fitted. Is there a step or a setting that I'm missing somewhere to get this working? Can anyone confirm that the front pannel connection is acti've on the X-Fi Titanium PCI Express?

Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working? I was truly hoping that would help and I wanted to give you some additional hope. I have a coolermaster case, and it has the AC97 jack on the inside with all my other other front panel connectors for hard dri've activity light, reset, and power on. Three inches down from the AC97 jack, the INTEL HD *which works beautifully with the X-FI, only differs by three wires in different locations and the two pinouts configurations match those of the INTEL site identically.
Please tell me what happens as I would like to post a step by step guide for the others here in the forum. You will know when you have successfully adapted the connector because in VISTA and Windows 7, your sound applet in control panel will have a display of the connectors "lit up" when they are successfully connected. Mine shows FP microphone in the applet when its plugged in, and grayed out when its not. Its great for telling if I am connected on the rear of the soundcard of the front.
    Best of luck and .......

  • PCI Express and Soundblast

I just got a new machine that has PCI Express card slots in it. I am new to this technology so I have a total noob question. Can you use soundblaster cards in a PCI Express slot? And on a larger scheme, can you use PCI cards in PCI Express slots?
    Thanks,
    -murk

As everybody said... No. PCI-express and PCI are not really compatible.
And I'd like to reply on the posts regarding PCI-express soundcards. If any card like that would be produced, I guess we'd need mainboards with more PCI-E slots than we have now. Now it's all PCI-E on GPU's and 2 PCI-E slots for crossfire/SLI setu
    ps.
Gi'ven I want to have a decent gaming machine in the foreseeable future, I'd need atleast 3 if not 4 PCI-E slots. Something like a Physics processing unit comes to mind, 2 GPU's and a soundcard... which would also conclude in a lot of users should be upgrading their systems to a higher substandard then now. Upgrading is fun and all, but if they people can't afford to upgrade that often, most companies would stay pretty low.
That's just my 2 cents. But seeing the developments running wild regarding computers I wouldn't be too surprised if we'd see it happen soon.

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI-E and the front panel from my case

The plug from my frontpanel fit onto the soundcard, but when I plug in a headset I can't hear anything. I can hear sound on the left side of my headset when I plug it in only half the way.
    My Case: Tronje H-650B
What makes me thinking is the fact that I can hear sound, but only on the left side of my headset and only when the plug is only the half way in.
Hope you can help me to solve the problem.
    Greetings.

Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI-E and the front panel from my casev I tried hooking up the HD Audio front connecto of my Lian-Li A05 to the X-Fi Titanium. However, the headset is not detected (neither in nor out). Looking at the pinout I noticed that my connector has the correct pins for the signal, but lacks the following wires (completely missing):
<div class="pCellBody">4 PRESENCE#? Acti've low signal that signals BIOS that an Intel HD Audio dongle is connected to the analog header. PRESENCE# = 0 when an Intel HD Audio dongle is connected<div class="pCellBody">7 SENSE_SEND? Jack detection sense line from the Intel HD Audio CODEC jack detection resistor network
I take it these are required to make the card detect the devices. Is there a way to circumvent this?
Also, the manual gives a confusing description:
"Intel HD Front Panel Audio standard only.
Not compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio"
So it is compliant with Intel, but also not compatible with Intel? Or is there a difference between "Intel" and "Intel-compatible"? This makes no sense...

  • Mic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7.1 PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame?

NMic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7. PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame? My mic has worked perfectly up untill the new driver update. It is now version .04.000 released 30 June 09'. That was yesterday as of this post. It was a complete reinstall of the driver and software and a new updater. When I finished all of the updates my mic no longer worked. Keep in mind that I have 2 mics and neither of them work. With the old driver and software I was able to access the Creative Audio Control Panel and I would find a tab called "Jacks". In that tab I could select "line in" or "microphone". I would select microphone and all would work well. Now I have a completely dumbed down Creative Audio Control Panel interface with no option that is similar. I have clean wiped and reinstalled the driver and sofware updates 3 times now with the same effect. Can anyone help please? I really don't want to wait -3 weeks for Creative support to get back to me. The only thing worse than Creative support is UBISoft support!
    Thanks in advance.

  • X-FI Titanium pci-express MIDI connec

Hi to everyone. I want to buy a great pci-express sound card and this Creative X-FI Titanium Fatalty Pci-Express is interesting. But i need Midi connector for my musical works; i have the old db5-to-midi cable and the internal db5 bracket. Is this board compatible with this connectors or have other connections? I don't want to buy a usb-midi or i/o module; other pci-e boards have midi or have compatibility to db5 bracket, so i only want to know if x-fi titanium is the same or is a bad board for this. Thanks.

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express and XFX 9800GT graphics c

    Hi
I have just bought a SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express card and looked at the motherboard where I have a XFX 9800GT graphics card installed and noticed the PCI-E slot where it attatches to the motherboard is right next to the graphics card and I am concerned it may cause air flow ventilation problems for the fan on the graphics card. The gap is about 2 mm.
.Does anyone think think this may cause the graphics card problems?
    2. Is there an adapter/extention?lead that can be?connected to the PCI-E slot so I can attatch?the X-Fi Extreme card so I can move it away from the graphics card ?
Any ideas on this much appreciated.
    Mack

The only way your going to know the answer to is by measuring the cards tempds before and after installing the sound card.
Graphic cards run with certain temp limits, and I guess there must be one for yours.
No idea on 2...all google throws up is "PCI Express to PCI Adapter".

  • Enable both PCI-Express and onboard video on Ultra 20 M2?

I don't see any bios options to enable the onboard video if I have a video card installed in the PCI-Express 16 slot. Is this possible? I'd like to run the workstation dual-head.

The board will detect a video card in the pci-e 16x slot and auto-disable the onboard video to avoid conflicts. Apparently , there is no way to manually enable the onboard video while a card is present.

  • Airport Express and USB Hard drive and extremely slow performance

    HI Guys,
I seem to having a lot of trouble with an Airport express and a Lacie 1TB drive. While I have solved several problems by updating firmware and enabling journalling on the Lacie, I am still having problems with extremely slow performance with my macbook, particularly using itunes and Firefox.
Any ideas and any further information needed?

    HI,
I formatted it using the Lacie setup program for Mac and later enabled it for journalling using Disk utility. This seemed to solve a lot of the recognition problems I was having, however the I-Tunes and firefox performance is still atrocious. If I do Need to completely reformat it using Disk Utility, will I lose my files on the disk now?
not if you move them to a temporary location before you start.
yes, you are better of formatting the drive with DU.

  • XiFi Titanium PCI Express ($99) - No 20db Mic Boost setting available

I just upgraded from the XiFi GamerXtreme to the XiFi Titanium card. I no longer have the ability to apply the 20db mic boost setting that was available to me with my old card and drivers. I have looked everywhere and searched forum high and low for an answer. My drivers are upto date for the new card according to AutoUpdate program. As a result, people on Ventrilo can hardly hear me even after boosting my voice 800%.
Where is the 20db mic boost setting for the Titanium cards? There is no Customer tab anymore.
Also, I have no front panel hook up. I have the mic plugged into the Flexijack and have switched from Line-in to Microphone using Audio Control Panel. I am set up in Gaming Mode as well. All Mic volume settings I can find (both in Ventrilo and Creative software) are set to max. Under Recording Devices, I have Microphone Creative SB X-Fi set as default device.

It sounds like you have the rear jack set to LINE-IN. This can be fixed...
    1. open the Creative Audio Control Panel. It should of installed itself with the drivers.
    2. Open the Flexi-Jack TAB and select Microphone.
Now it should be louder.... but there is still a problem with my setup thanks to Creative in all its wisdom removed the 20db Option.... I think this card has the feature hidden in there because the pervious drivers? 2.7.7 were about 20 db louder than the 2.7.8 drivers... I guess they have outsourced everything and everyone...
After 20 years and 0 good cards later it is all going downhill... Time is too valuble for me to be searching the net for fixes...reading through the registry etc... hence this card is going in the bin and I am not buying anymore Sound Blaster products...
good day sir... and good luck
