CHi, i've recently bought a creative titanium hd. i cant seem to output from my xbox and input to my soundcard. It cant seem to recognise any input. please verify if this card can be used on xbox.. cause the?PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series states that it supports input from consoles

Like most audio cards Titanium HD supports only PCM stereo input via optic cable. Check your console audio output settings.

  • Titanium Fatal1ty Pro SPDIF game problem

(Titanium Fatalty Pro SPDIF game problem hi all,
sorry if this issue reported in the past i but i could not get any answer on any relati've posts, the terminology was so complicated
i buy?a new pc with a Titanium Fatalty Pro sound card, i use Vista sp2 x64, the sound card is connected to my external amplifier with SPDIF out in order to get surround sound for my movies and my games and here is my problem
any movies format with surround sound play perfect with out any problem any kind of movie DVD, dvix, mkv?files?etc
but non of the games i play?use the surround system, why is that? is any?kind of special settings needed to be done? how is possible to get surround to movies and not to the games?
thanks you all for your time ?

,Re: Titanium Fatalty Pro SPDIF game problem? this is really coincidence - I just posted on the very same topic 5 minutes ago.
for games just go to the Console Entertainment mode > Encoder > Dolby Digital. Although this is not documented I believe what happens is that the sound card encodes the 6 digital channels onto Dolby Digital mode and transfers this over SPDIF. Kok-Choy actually recommend using the standard analogue cables (and he has a point as you are actually upcoding an existing game signal onto Dolby so that your digital receiver can then decode this down to 6 channels - seems a pretty useless overhead)
for video - I am curious to know what you do - I can either get 96/24 bits on the display of my z5500 with a direct signal but the z5500 receiver then tells me that this signal is only in dolby ProLogic II (and not DD or DTS). As alternati've I use again the encoder and have to select for EACH FILM WHAT IS BEST DOLBY DIGITAL OR DTS. Pls explain what settings you use.
    thanks

  • Trying to use SPDIF BYPASS with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

I need help guys!! I've bought a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro PCI-E x a few days ago and everything is working great with the lastest drivers (even DTS Connect, Interacti've, DDL, etc... Everything is fine) but now i want to use the digital input to "bypass" the audio from my SKY HDTV (Home Theater Samsung X-70 digital input, hdmi input and hdmi output) and i've done everything and i can't hear anything... SKY HDTV - > X-FI Titanium Digital Input - > X-Fi Titanium Digital Output -> Samsung HT-X70
I have the SKY HDTV plugged into my Sound card via Toslink Digital Optical cable.
I had done some research online about needing to enable the decoder in the Creative Audio Control Panel, but I have no "Decoder" Tab. Also, there is a tab called SPDIF I/O when I select it, SPDIF input settings are grayed out and in the box is default (pre-selected).
Is there a fix to get a decoder for this sound card, or what should i do?

OK Helsing, let me see if I understand you, If you want to decode DD and DTS, PowerDVD will do the trick, but so will VLCMedia player, etc. If you want to send a pure untouched signal through to your receiver so it can decode it and play it, then that is SPDIF passthrough. That means the signal will go through your system untouched and out to your receiver........and yes there is that setting for it in the SHARK codec package. Shark's package will also use FFDshow or whatever of its components to do the job of which you are speaking.....

  • X-FI Titanium + DDL Encoding + SPDIF Out Configuration on Windows 7 x64

?My setup - I have an X-FI Titanium running on Windows 7 x64. The optical out of the X-FI is connected to a splitter - one goes to my speakers (Logitech z-5500) and the other goes to my headphone amp (Astro Mixamp). I'm running the latest beta driver and daniel's last support pack, along with the latest DDL and DTS packages.
When I enable DDL encoding in the creative panel, it says I have to set the default device to be Creative X-FI (Speakers). Why not SPDIF out? If I set SPDIF Out as the default device, I get no sound. If I reboot, I get a blue screen.
If I set speakers as default, I get sound from both the speakers (if I connect analog) and optical out. I thought this configuration wasn't possible anymore on Vista/Windows 7?

they dont want you to use spidf out because the console doesnt control it and doesn't give you any enhacments at all. either turn the software volume control to 0, or unplug them.

I'm trying to setup my audio workstation for production next week.
Is the SPDIF Tab supposed to be greyed out on the Titanium HD? I bought this card because I had read it had a optical in. Mine is greyed out. Is there a way to un-grey it? I can't use my inputs!!

  • Win7, SPDIF issues (DDL) on X-Fi Titanium

)Win7, SPDIF issues (DDL) on X-Fi Titanium? I'm running Windows 7 x64 (MSDN final release) and can't seem to get my SPDIF to work correctly with Dolby Digital Li've.
I've installed the latest and greatest drivers 2.7.0007 and the DDL/DTS files from my original CD with no issues.
The problem is that I can't seem to get anything from my SPDIF to work with the exception of the "tone test" for Dolby and DTS or normal 2. audio. Those play fine.
Whenever I try to enable DDL in the creative control panel, it won't work at all with my speakers (aka. multi-out) disabled. When I enable them, it lists them in the DDL pull-down, yet as we know, DDL only works with the SPDIF. DTS doesn't seem to do anything at all. I can check boxes at will, but there seems to be no effect at all. If I don't enable either (and I keep my "speakers" enabled) I can get normal 2. sound from the SPDIF. When DDL is enabled, suddently everything tells me my "device is already in use."
I tried the "support pack" to no avail, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.
The multi-out (speakers) work great, but my SPDIF only works in stereo. the fact that is DOES work with them tells me that it's not broken, though.
    Any ideas?

Strange...but it DID work. I played around with it a bit last night. After looking around the forum a bit I caught some posts about your CPU staying at a constant 5-20% with DDL enabled and sure enough...mine does. It seems to shift which core is acti've, but I'm getting a pretty constant 5% load with DDL. Is there a fix for that yet?

  • DD/DTS SPDIF decoding on the X-Fi Titanium seri

    Hi,?
I know that this feature was just recently readded to the PCI versions of the X-Fi, i tried asking creative if this is going to be the same for the Titanium series or not, they didn't really understand the question, confused the different product lines and more.
I am wondering if this is on a driver level or hardware level, I.E. will this be possible through a future driver or mod? or should i just return my card and get the X-Fi Platinum?
    ?Thanks?

From what I've gathered from the forums, all Dolby and DTS Decoding is done in a software driver for all the Creative cards.
As of now, there is no Dolby or DTS decoding of the SPDIF input on the Titanium.
I don't know if they'll add it later or not. I've offered Creative $5 for a decoder, we'll see what happens, lol.
Some of this nonsense can be blamed on Vista, I think. There's a lot of DRM built into Vista, and I think the disabling of the SPDIF Decode is an attempt to plug some of the analog hole in DRM. In other words, they don't want you to record anything going into the SPDIF port.

  • X-FI Titanium, Z-5500 via SPDIF problems

So I picked up an X-FI Titanium PCI-e Sound Card?recently. I connected to my Logitech Z-5500s through SPDIF and I have a Razor Gaming Headset connected through Analog. I am using Windows 7 x64 with all the latest drivers for everything, Windows 7?is updated, onboard sound disabled, etc. Through my headset (analog) I have no issues. Through SPDIF?via the?Z-5500s I have some problems. In Windows 7 for example if you open my computer and click on c: and open sub folders there is a default sound theme with a "click" noise. Through my headphones not a problem. Through the SPDIF connection to the Z-5500s I just get a pop sound but no click. I've enabled and connected the Z-5500s through SPDIF to my onboard ALC889A sound card and this works just fine, so it's only with the X-FI through SPDIF that this happens. I've gone through the Creative Control Panel and disabled DTS, DD, etc. Tried lowering sound quality, etc, pretty much every option there is I've tried with it disabled but this always happens. There are other times where there should be a sound played but I just get a popping sound.
Is anyone else experiencing something like this using an X-FI through SPDIF? Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I played around with Dolby Digital Li've encoding & EAX games and had no issues, but I'm just using mid-range Z-5500s for output. I eventually just connected the analog outputs, because I couldn't detect a difference in quality between the sound card's DACs and the speaker's DACs.
When you use DDL encoding you won't be able to control the volume using the master windows volume control (or the Creative volume controls.)?
    This article explains it:
"Another direct consequence of transmitting a compressed audio signal instead of an uncompressed audio signal (more commonly known as PCM) is that the volume of that signal cannot be modified once it has been encoded. Because the bits in an encoded signal no longer directly correspond to the volume of that signal, it is impossible to increase the volume until it is decoded. This explains why your PC cannot control the volume of your sound when you are using Dolby Digital or DTS as the output. The connected device will be the only place where the volume can be changed."
    http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/archi've/2008/03/04/using-s-pdif-to-send-audio-from-your-pc.aspx
This may be linked to why bass redirection can't be adjusted ... or it may be un-related. All I can say is that I have no issues with the bass in my Z-5500s when using DDL over optical, and haven't tried to play with bass redirection at all.
Because audio quality wasn't any different (at least using Z-5500s) I decided to use the analog outputs so I could use the windows master volume controls.

  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty SPDIF out only...

having some issues here and been looking around but no luck. anyways my sound has stopped working. to elaborate in playback devices its now set to SPDIF out. and Speakers disappeared. Ive uninstalled the drivers and software. reinstalled with the driver from creative. didnt change anything. even formatted and reinstalled windows with no avail. im pretty much out of ideas... any help is much appreciated. running win7 x64 and PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion Series

as you can read I had the same problem as yours,my sound just gona after moving my mouse to get my pc back on from sleep mode,I tried everything, reinstall, dri've sweeper, reinstall graphic card, nothing seemed to work.
anyway I did a restore to factory settings from windows 7 restore(basiclly its a format with new and clean windows).
dont disable your onboard(it has nothing to do with your problem).
try another clean installation of windows BUT dont let windows automaticlly install updates from windows update, choose the "never install drivers from windows update" option, you can find it in my computer proporties in advance systam settings->hardware.
I googled about this problem and this is what giving you this problem.
after you install fresh windows, download the most updated drivers from creative website, dont use the disk.
update me if its working for you,if not I'll continue to help you as much as I can..

  • Is true SPDIF Passthrough possible with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty P

I recently installed my X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro sound card and for the life of me I can't find where I can turn on SPDIF passthrough.
I know about the Dolby Digital Li've, and that's not what I want, I want just the simple optical SPDIF passthrough.
I also don't believe the option for Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output is the same either. Not looking for a stereo mix, just passthrough.
Can anyone help me out here?

I have the same card and I was able to figure how to do the real optical SPDIF passthrough in Vista X64.
First unselect the Dolby Digital Li've if you have that option on.
Second, I unchecked the stereo mixing feature in the creative volume panel.
Finally, you have to select the SPDIF Out Device as the default playback device in the windows sound manager (just right click in the windows speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices, NOT in the creative volume panel. There you can check with some tests if the Dolby and DTS sound is passing through the optical SPDIF correctly.
For Dolby Prologic II (PS2 emulator) I had to manually select to decode in that format to work (in my home theater options).
I have tested my method with a DVD Movie and it worked perfectly!, my external receiver detects de Dolby Digital signal from the movie automatically.

  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series = No hardware acceleration in games when using SPDIF o

So I play Lord of the Rings Online which is a nati've OpenAL+EAX game. I used to run my headphones directly out of the analog output on the X-Fi card and I was able to select hardware accelerated audio in game and hear sound.
Recently I decided to start using the SPDIF output into a dedicated DAC. Now hardware accelerated audio no longer works. I have to use software mode.
Does the X-Fi not support hardware acceleration in games when using the SPDIF output?

    Zorlac wrote:
I am happy to report that I think it is working the way I want. I have the latest driver and pulled up the "Audio Control Panel". There is a tab called "SPDIF I/O". I had to check the box next to "Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output" in the "Digital Output" section. Now I can select the normal X-Fi option in the Lord of the Rings Online audio config section instead of having to select generic software audio.
So is the X-Fi now using its own DAC and ADC before it outputs via optical out?
...so yeah, my OCD is not over yet (more questions):
. How the heck do you prove that hardware accelerated OpenAL, EAX features, EAX effects, etc., are enabled and working? Creative Labs could market just about any new feature in EAX and the listener would have no way to prove its working it seems... Is there software to analyze which EAX features are supported, which are being used, etc.
    2. Do you really have to be in Game Mode in order to take advantage of hardware acceleration and EAX feature/effects in games? It seems to me that Audio Creation Mode can support these "optionally" from what I have read online. What does optionally mean if this is true? heh
    3. How do I prove that I am getting bit perfect output in Audio Creation Mode? I need some way to monitor the SPDIF optical output via hardware or software. Someone here has to know the answer to this without hooking my card into a multi-thousand dollar home theater amp to find out. Can I hook the SPDIF optical output to the optical input and some how analyze the input signal? (im just brainstorming)
With spdif out, you are not using the DACs on the card.
As for questions through 3, very good questions.
. With 4.0, 4., 5.0, or 5. speaker set up, and CMSS turned off, I think if you can hear sound out of the rear speakers when the sound is supposed to be behind you, then you can safely say EAX is working.
    2. Don't know. I leave mine in game mode all the time. I have 64bit Vista, and there are no 64bit ASIO drivers, so I have no need to go into audio creation mode. Everything I do works good in game mode, and I use a different card for recording.
    3. Don't know.

  • SB X-Fi Titanium and SPDIF Optical input: no input sound

I'm attempting to use my SPDIF Optical input for the first time on my Windows 7 PC. Audio input works fine. No sound appears to be coming in through the optical input. Sound Properties in Control Panel shows everything is OK.
I am using a Converter box to convert a Coax optical output of my Boss GT-6 Guitar efx unit into a Toslink cable input. Everything is plugged in correctly. So assuming that the converter box and cable are doing their job, what subtle issue should I be looking for regarding input sound on the SB card? Everything looks OK, but still no sound.
I do get a low-level hum from my speakers when I turn on my GT-6 and it goes away when the GT-6 is powered off. At least something is being detected. I'm unclear how to proceed troubleshooting this
    Thanks for any assistance...Mark

I've been going through the same headaches with my extreme gamer. I wanted the quality of an optical connection and was impressed with the improved clarity and gain, but as frustrated that no 5. seemed possible on anything other then dvd's.
A extreme GAMER card should have GAME support one would think. Then I read about the Dolby Digital Li've Pack, avalible here at the web site, For a fee of course ^&%$&(.
It convert ALL sound from your card, even stereo if you use the CMSS-3D settings, to Dolby so any reciever can now decode them via an optical cable.
The only issue I'm having is that with Dolby Digital Li've enabled I'm getting a few millisecond delay that is slightly throwing off the lip syncing while playing video, I can't seem to find out why, with the DDL unticked the delay is gone, but so is the 5..
I'm not sure if it is because the DDL works in real-time and that causes the slight delay, or not. It isn't a huge problem just a annoying one.
It seems that Creative sucks at digital, lol. Or just doesn't care very much about it.
