X-Fi Xtreme Audio and no sound

This is really getting annoying. I had a X-Fi Fatality FPS before (which had no optical on the back), and then i bought a X-Fi Xtreme Audio.. but.. The mic just doesnt want to work. I connect the mic jack to the only input there is - where the mic icon is aswell - and.. nothing.
The mic is enabled in windows, but it sees the input as Line-In, and not microphone!
Im using this driver: XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0000
How do i get this working? (The mic isnt broken)

Got it fixed. The newest driver supplied by Creative, doesnt have the "Creative Console Launcher" - which means you cant switch the mode of the FlexiJack.
Good job Creative.........................

  • Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Audio and ALch

I bought a Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Audio soundcard to go with my new computer as I have always used Creative and have been impressed by them. However, in Vista, my rear speakers do not seem to work. I did some research and found that ALchemy was what I needed, but I cannot get this to install. It gives me the error message that my card isnt supported. Is there any workaround for this? I feel pretty miffed having an X-Fi card and being excluded from proper sound in Vista.

There is a very good reason why it tells you your card isn't supported, that's because it isn't,?This download?is an?application for Creative Sound Blaster? X-Fi? series of audio devices. It restores 3D audio and EAX? effects for certain DirectSound?3D games in Microsoft? Windows Vista?. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi?XtremeGamer Fatalty?Pro<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatalty<
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic<
?Alchemy was written to translate DirectSound3D software calls to OpenAL hardware calls, and unfortunately the Xtreme Audio doesn't have the hardware, the EMU20K2?(all that card basically is is a renamed SB Li've 24 bit/Audigy SE, neither of which have the hardware either).

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio and optical in (win

hey, i bought an x-fi xtreme audio specifically so i could hook up my xbox to my computer speakers through my sound card via an optical cable.
I hooked everything up, but i dont see any option in audioconsole to let me have my computer recieve audio through the optical input, decode it, and output it through my speakers.
I hear theres supposed to be some sort of digital i/o tab, but there is none.
    these?are the tabs?i?have?in audioconsole:
    X-Fi Crystalizer | Headphone detection | performance | restore defaults | device information | speakers | eax efefcts | X-Fi CMSS-3D?
    any?help?on?this?would be greatly appreciated.

i found a simple workaround for my problem.
I uninstalled all the creative drivers and software, then disabled the card from teh hardware menu. i enabled onboard sound in teh bios and installed the drivers that were on my motherboard disc, and the line in worked fine right off the bat.
im?a long?time?customer?of creative ever since my?first sound?blaster 6?and?i?would?have sworn by?all?their?products, but?the?last tow sound cards?i've gotten from them,?the?audigy?4?and?this xfi?have given?me?nothing but problems. ?now i see what theyre doing, not supporting windows xp anymore, and im?now done?with creative for good.
    bye.

  • Vista 64 - X-fi Xtreme Audio and Fatal1ty headset problem

    Hi All,
I bought a Xtreme Audio soundcard today, and found a problem.
When I connect my headset with the front connection on my PC -> no problem
when I connect my microphone with the front connection on my PC -> no problem, mic is working.
When I connect them both, the microphone isn't working.
To fix it, I have to disconnect my headset
Is this a known issue ?
Or is there someone who can help me ?
    regards,
    Corn

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Expre

Hi folks,?Purchased a from Overclockers.co.uk, its an OEM card, but unlike most other OEM equipment I have, for the life of me I cannot find any drivers for it, at present I am using it under Vista 32bit, and Vista 64bit, both are using very poor Windows Update drivers which have crippled the optical output to 2 channel only
I can see me sending this card back to Overclockers.co.uk if I can't get drivers for it ?Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find drivers for this card, or equivalents to it. Cheers, Vaughn.

  • X-FI Xtreme Audio and Gigabyte motherboard - machine won't mount di

    Hi,
I just bought me a nice new audio card, as the onboard card on my motherboard isn't all that (I think).
Now here's the issue; After installing the new card in the second PCI slot, thus leaving an open PCI slot between the PCI-E slot (which holds my video card) and the PIC slot I used for the audio card, when booting up the machine it won't actually load any OS (I use GRUB to multiboot). It complains about a wrong device, disk read error, and all kind of funny things. Turns out for some reason my DVD player isn't recognized anymore as far as I can tell, and this completely changes the boot order. Also, when touching the dri'ves when it's booted, I don't feel any actual activity. Booting takes a long time as well with the card inserted.
Removing the audio card and turning the onboard one back on in BIOS (or just leaving it disabled) turns everything back to normal :smileyindifferent: I've also tried assigning the card another IRQ in the BIOS, but that doesn't really change anything at all...
If anyone has any idea after looking at the below specs, please enlighten me.

  • Optical audio and surround sound speakers for my Mac Pro

In the back of my Mac Pro there's an in and out for Optical Audio. What is this and are there any surround sound speaker systems out there that will plug into it? Most surround sound speakers seem to require a PC-style triple-input, with three jacks (Green to front, Orange to centre and Black to rear channels). Very few surround sound systems have the additional option for a single headphone socket-style jack, and I'm not sure if they will work terribly well with this single connection.
Can anyone recommend some speaker choices, particularly in the UK, that will give me good surround sound from the optical audio or single headphone jacks? Many thanks.

You might want to look at a device called the Griffin FireWave: [http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewave]
It connects to your MacPro via firewire, and has the green/orange/black jacks out to a standard 5.1 speaker system.
It comes with a software application that lets you customize the sound, and also synthesize surround from mono, stereo, etc., sources.
It would definitely open up your choices for speaker systems. I'm using one with a Klipsch 5.1 Promedia set of speakers. Works and sounds great.

  • X-Fi xtreme audio and vista 32bit - bass redirect

    hi,
    i have
    -x-fi extreme audio bulk (PCI)
    -vista 32bit
-Teufeln Concept E? 5. surround set (connected via analog)
i can install the latest drivers and audio console, but the graphical console
    ("C:\Program Files\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Console Launcher\ConsoLCu.exe")
will fail to start with a message saying the device is not supported.
the audio console which comes with the driver
    ("C:\Program Files\Creative\AudioCS\CTAudCS.exe")
does work but lacks one important function, the bass redirection (crossover frequency).
is there anyway to set this option or is there a driver combination for my hardware allowing me to launch the graphical audio console (where i know u can set this option)?
    thx in advance

  • Audio and Video sound cuts out when adjusting the volume whilst playing powerpoint presentations

I have just bought a new hp laptop and when running power point presentations with embedded media (for my job) I cannot adjust the volume of the sound when the audio or video file is playing. It simply cuts out and stops the video or sound from playing. I thought at first that this might be an Office 2010 issue but now it seems more likely to be a setting on the laptop. If anyone has any answers they would be much appreciated!! Many Thanks

I hear you on this. I just tested out the 3GS video for a concert where band mixed electronica and guitars.. boom boom satellites and I noticed when close to the speaker side of the stage the sound cut in/out. But when I moved farther away sound remained consistant.
What I may suggest is lowering the volume to mid range when closer to your sound source then
correct (if needed) using outside software.. iMovie Final Cut, etc..
Yes, I wasn't to please about losing sound on a what I recorded.. ~A~

  • Very specific question involving GarageBand, Core Audio, and ext. sound.

I plan on purchasing a MacBook and using it for live music performances. Here is my question:
Using Tiger's Core Audio, would I be able to connect an external sound card, and, using GarageBand 3, play a click track (for timing) through the audio out on the book and run the rest of the tracks (the music for the audience) out of the external sound card?
I need to be able to play acoustic instruments live and keep in rhythm so when the rest of the music (beats, samples, etc) come in the instruments are all in the same time.
    Any information would help. Thanks.
    Planning on buying a MacBook.

Yes, I need 2 separate outputs. The guitarists will be listening to a click track for rhythm but I obviously don't want the audience to hear the clicks, just the music, live AND from the laptop.
And I could just play the audio back from iTunes, but I want real-time control on them. I guess my real question (which does not belong in this forum) is what software can I use that will allow multiple audio outputs, midi-triggering (midi loops AND static audio loops (i.e. mp3, etc), and let me play a midi keyboard with the desired plugins I want?
Does that exist? If so, just tell me what that is and I'll buy it. This is really perplexing me.

  • X-FI Xtreme Audio and Windows 7

    Driver is not working properly.
As oposed to WinXP driver (on disk) there is no console application.
In Audio Control Panel I found all necessary settings, but it seems they are not working at all (such as Crystalizer, Surround Xpand and other).
And also now I can't use Bass Redirection setting.
How I can solve this problem?
And when Creative create normal driver and applications for Win 7?

?GURU, I`m having issues with the Windows7 also in the install of Audigy2ZS. I`ve had this for three years and worked fine, yet I did a new update with the old Artificial Intelligence mother board, burt out on me. That could be it. ? Since updating the software in autoupdate for Audigy2ZS and the Windows 7 may be the issue I`m getting... SPI(Creative X_Fi Module) Problem... when I install the CD from Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS? . Lost. Uninstalled it several times and no go. The Itunes works ACE with the Audigy2ZS, Go figure?
    Any clues?
