X-fi Xtreme Audio - Can't access/install mode switcher

I've been trying to access the touted 'Audio Creation Mode' for its bit-matched playback and sound quality, however I don't have any of the fancy creative driver programs - instead I have a standard Windows 7 menu, with 8 tabs. (I'll try to get screens if it comes to it).
I double checked my drivers, I am on V .04.0090, however upon attempting to install 'Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0079' , I recieve the error 'Driver Version is not found', preventing me from installing the mode switcher and audio console...
Stumped on how to fix this,? thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Well thanks, but in that case I'm confused by why the post the audio pack alongside the Xtreme Audio in the download section... surely it was meant to be compatible if placed there?

  • I can not access preview mode in safari

Choosing file > Preview takes me somewhere else and I can not access preview mode at all. Every time I select preview it takes me to some strange site with att and my first name in it. Very Frustrating.
I am using the latest upgrade for Muse 2014, so I don't think the version is to blame. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and what did you do to resolve it, and did it work?

    Hi
When you click on preview, what is the url in the browser? Also, Muse uses the default browser of the OS, so is it possible to change the default browser and test it again to see if it works.

  • Can't access Recovery Mode on old Mac

I've had an old Mac lying around unused for the last few years.
It is currently running (from "About this Mac")
    OS X version 10.5.8
    Dual 1.3 GHz PowerPC G4
2 MB L3 cache per processor
    768 MB SDRAM
    It's a Power Mac G4
I want to completely wipe this computer so it's in absolute factory settings with nothing left behind by me, so I can sell it for a small price and possibly take a couple of parts for a build I'm thinking about.
I Tried the Restart, Command + R method of accessing Recovery Mode multiple times with no success. It takes around 30 seconds to boot each time so I'm not missing the "window" to do it, I think. (I beggin the Key Combo when I hear the chime)
i don't have any disks for this computer as it was pre-owned, at least 5 years ago, from a guy I've lost touch with. I don't want to back up any files.
can anyone help me reset this dusty old calculator?

    Man in despair,
The pre-2006 PowerMacs this foru serves cannot run OS 10.6.8. What Mac to you have? We can get you moved to the proper forum for your Mac.
Never be hesitant to start a new thread. When you tag onto another, especially one like this that appears to be about a different Mac model, you dilute the help the original poster deserves. It is also confusing to the rest of use and some very knowlegeable helpers here will not respond to a tag-on (also known as a "thread-jack.")
So fast help require you to make a new thread in teh forum that matches you Mac model.

Thanks for trying to help. Sadly, I followed the instructions and it rebooted to the blue screen again.
It's going to have to go to Apple for repairs now. I'm out of options.
I am wondering how much easier it would have been if I'd created a time machine restore point. I got what I deserved for failing to do that, but I'm doubtful even that would have worked in this case. It does seem to be because of that piece of widely reported malware that didn't want to leave without causing damage.
The most frustrating aspect is the safe boot. I get to the desktop but without any menu, finder or dock. It seems to be similar to the problem below...
    http://www.macsmarts.com/?p=109
But that's for Tiger. I tried that to no effect.
Like I said, it's going to have to go to Apple now because I've done so many things I don't know if I'm just digging myself a deeper hole.
    Thanks again for offering help.

  • Stuck in grayscale, can't access image mode rgb

For some reason photoshop decided I didn't want to work in color on a certain image anymore, and isn't allowing me to access the usual fix for undoing grayscale. I've been pulling my hair out trying to recover this image and can't find a solution online. I can acess image>mode>etc on any other image/document but not on the one i need, even if i make a copy of it. I also can't seem to be able to simply copy/paste the entire thing, as it only seems to paste a blank image. How the hell do I get my color back, this is pissing me off royal.

Do you have Windows? If so, you should know Windows makes backup shadow copies.
Shadow Explorer opens up a File navigator. You select the date and time before this happened, navigate to where you kept the file on your C drive, right-click and select Export to get it back.
Shadow Explorer is free. ShadowExplorer.com - About

  • Can't access otherwise in switch from GUI in JDev 10.1.2 beta 3

When trying to populate multiple cases of a switch JDev is not allowing me to open the <otherwise> tag from the GUI. It doesn't seem to recognize it as anything but normal text.
Is there a workaround to be able to access the XPATH assistant or Expression Builder for this case?

The purpose of otherwise is to take the last route when all the cases you mentioned in the switch are not met. If you want to add 1 more case, you can "right click -> Add Switch Case"

  • I can't access image mode

My .psd file is a collage of different pictures I took and I would like to manipulate bightness and color saturation but I can't, so I thought I was simply in the wrong image mode but as I want to change it I see that I cannot access it at all, it is greyed out. I hope there is an easy fix to this?
    Thank you!

Thank you for the quick answer but I found this article: http://www.digitalfelix.net/blog/35-blog-posts/73-why-are-photoshop-menus-greyed-out and fix 2+3 solved my problem.

  • 4S user can't access panoramic mode

I have an iPhone 4S and updated to iOS 6. I know where the panoramic button SHOULD be but it isn't there on my phone. What am I missing?

If your camera isn't already in gphoto.rules you should report it to package maintainer (feature request) and/or gphoto devs.
    I wouldn't modify standard gphoto.rules. I'd rather put this rule in /etc/udev/rules.d/00.udev.rules:
    ATTRS{idVendor}=="04a9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="305b", GROUP:="camera"
to avoid overwriting after next update.
For restarting udev there is /etc/start_udev (or udev_start or something like this - I can't remember it :-))
thanks, it is /etc/start_udev - i was looking in /etc/rc.d.
i moved it back to 00.gphoto.rules so it won't get overwritten.
now that it's verified working in the standard rules, i'll make a report to the devs to add the cam there.
is your method for doing this in the wiki? i pretty much only figured out how to do it by reading your posts. if you have time, i think it would be a great wiki item.  8)

  • IMac 7,1 running 10.5.8 can not access recovery mode, during update to 10.6.8 kernel panic

    Good day everybody.
I'm facing next issue. Having iMac v.7,1 running 10.5.8. EFI and SMC firmware update is done.
Trying to update to 10.6.8 thru bootable USB drive. After rebooting showing kernel panic. Made Apple Hardware Test (long one, took around 90 mins) no issues found. Trying booting in Single User Mode, showing "0x7" error.
My attempts to boot in Recovery Mode (cmd+r) completely ignored. Im not sure if there is one.
I tried to Boot in Recovery Mode via Bootable USB with 10.6.8 on it, holding "option" (alt) button, two scenarios, other complete ignore and keep booting to login screen OR again same Kernel Panic.
    Guys need some help.
Im ready to change parts, but no idea was that HD or RAM or whatever else.
    Some photos attached.
    Thanks to everybody in advance.

Recovery mode is only available in Lion (10.7) and later OSs. You can only upgrade to Snow Leopard by booting with an SL disc. You can get it from http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

  • Can't access standby mode

I just purchased a Curve 8330 last week. Love it, but the mute key has ceased to put the device in standby mode. It seems to do nothing now. I may have inadvertantly pushed the up rocker button at the same time as the mute key. Don't know why this would disable the function. Has anyone else had problems with this? Any suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Can you try to reset the device? With the device on, just remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace it. After the device reboots try using the Standby button

  • Can's access Safe Mode or any other mode!!

I'm on a MacBook Air 2014 - bought three weeks ago.
I'm a Mac user for several years now, and this has never happened to me:
I can't acces Disk Diagnostics, Safe Mode, reset PRAM or any of the other options available!
This Mac came with OS X Mavericks 10.9.4.
    I updated to OS X Yosemite 10.10.
Before updating I couldn't use any of the options I mentioned. After updating the same happens.
I've checked every single Apple Forum page & Apple page with information regarding this subjects. I've done everything according to what I read!
NON OF THIS OPTIONS WORK ON MY MAC.
    Any suggestion?!
    Thank you.
P.S: No, I'm not experience any troubleshooting with my Mac. The functions I mentioned simply aren't working. Why?!
Shouldn't they work on a new MacBook Air? They still work on my Macbook - Late 2010...

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • Can't access recovery mode in Creative

I want to update my firmware for my Creative Zen. I press and hold the play/pause button while starting the player. I should release this at the moment I see the creative logo. The problem is that I never see this logo. The screen is blank while the player is booting and the first thing I see is the ZEN logo. Why doesn't the creative logo show up?

I figured it out. Apparently the player has a cold start and a warm start. If I turn of the player and wait several hours, then I get the creative logo. When I turn it off and (almost) immediatly turn it on again, it goes directly to the ZEN logo, to speed up the restart.

  • Can I disable silent mode switch on 3G?

I am constantly, and unknowingly, turning the ringer on and off on my 3G phone. The switch resistance seems to be way to soft. So is there any way that I can disable the switch and turn the ringer on or off in settings instead?
    Thanks,
    Brad

This isnt an esay solution when the next Apple Store is 1000 miles away... The reseller (ROGERS) will never care of the resistence of the switch. So if anyone have a software solution, we will take it because this switch is SO anoying!

  • Speaker/Line In problem with Xtreme Audio c

I bought an SB X-FI Xtreme Audio card yesterday and installed it using the latest driver pack from Creative. Seems to work fine except for one thing. When I connected my turntable and played a record, I cannot hear the sound through my speakers. In the help file on the included CD it says you can monitor the input with stereo speakers in the line out connection, and this of course is where my speakers are connected. I must be missing something, but can't see what it is. Will someone please help me out? Thanks.

Ah- can't edit here? I wanted to add that I know the Line In and my turntable are working fine since I recorded the record I was playing on my hard dri've and it plays back fine from there.
