X-fi Xtreme Audio card Digital I/O in Windows Vi

Hallo,?Recently I bought an X-fi Xtreme Audio card and installed it in a PC using both Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista. The card has to work connected to a Creative Inspire 5. Digital 5700 external decoder. I installed the card and used it with no problems under windows XP SP2.
In order to connect the card with the external decoder I had to check an option "Digital Output only" in Entertainment Mode - Speakers and headphones section. Now, on the same computer, I'm trying to use the card with Windows Vista.
The system recognize the card and I was able to install software and driver for the card (driver version is .4.65 as "Creative System Information" application reported). If I connect an headphone to Line Out connector I can hear music playing. But I cannot select Digital I/O output.
In Vista, Entertainment Mode hasn't any checkbox to allow "Digital Output only" to work.
So I don't have any idea on how select Digital I/O output. Anyone can help me?Thank you in advance.

Hi?I had the same problem, and here is the solution. ) Make sure u download the latest drivers for Vista. 2) After the installation u can goto the Control Panel> Sound Settings? You will see that there is 2devices listed. st is the Speakers configuration2nd there is the SPDIF configuration. Alter first the Speakers configuration to ur needs, enable the Digital out! > make sure u never select a frequency above 48khzAlter the SPDIF settings and test the sample rates that is given on the screen sothat u know what works with the card and not. If there are any problems leave the settings i gave exactly as instructed, and then goto urAudio Console and check there is a headphone settings and disable them. Try again thereafter!?Good Luck!Marvin?IT & Audio Specialist

  • Problem with SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card Installat

I just completed installation of my X-Fi Xtreme Audio card for PCI express slot. I followed instructions and cancelled the prompt for audio drivers (by the hardware wizard) and installed via the Creative Labs CD. The installation went well and the card appears to be
functioning normally. My problem is that whenever I boot up the computer, the hardware wizard keeps discovering my card as new hardware and prompting me for a driver. I have been cancelling each time, but the last time I put in the CD, and had it search for the driver in the Audio/Drivers/driver/WinXP/bin, but it didn't seem to be able to locate the driver to satisfy itself.
What should I do (besides turning off the hardware wizard) to end this cycle of "new hardware found" episodes every time I boot.
I hope that someone can help with this.
ps: I would have liked to speak briefly with a Creative Tech Support person, but they seem to have conveniently left any telephone contact numbers off of their website, so I must depend on your help. Thanks.

    Hi,
Please check the "Support" folder on your installation CD for Customer Support contact details.

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio card problems!

Hi!?I bought a X-fi Xtreme Audio card today. installed, and now I get a big fps drop in Battlefield 2, first of all I cant enable Creative X-fi in the Audio tap under options in the game, it says the card does not supoort bla bla bla, if I chose to use Hardware I cant play the game due to extreme lag, with normal software, same settings I used with my onboard card, Realtek AC 97, I still got big fps drop... What is this **bleep**?Hey I want my money back, this **bleep** is useless... or is there some sort of fix? or is my card complete garbage?kind regards from an angry customer?//Stripflash

First, please refrain from using profanity on the forums: it is against the rules.
Next, it sounds like something definately isn't working right, as the X-fi shouldn't drag down your framerate at all. I would start off with a "cleansweep" uninstall/reinstall. On this website, click "Support" then KnowledgeBase, and in the searchbox type "SID72."
Let us know how it goes!
    Good luck,

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card not work

Hello, in my first time building a computer, I've had problems that have been solved via various forums, and I'm finally at my last problem that I need to fix. I got an X-Fi extreme audio card that isn't working properly. I know that the card isn't broken or inserted improperly, as when I test the speakers through the card (I'm using the green analog cable, plugged into the card), it works nicely. However, when I try to listen to anything else, like music, youtube, etc, I can only get sound (occasionally) through the headphone jack, which makes things sound really strange through the speakers. When I try to put headphones in (the headphone jack), they don't make any sound. Does anyone know a solution to this? I've tried going through all the settings, turning the mobo's onboard audio controller on and off, and many other things. I'm using a Abit IN9 32X MAX motherboard, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio VARPAK 7. Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express Interface Sound Card?and 32-bit Vista.

Today you're lucky, i also have an MSI XFI Audio but it's PCIe, if your card is PCIe, here is the CD:This CD is from a user named NUJA, http://nuja.free.fr/SBXAudioPCIe.rar , contain : CREATIVE_ALCHEMY_X-FI .00.07
    Audio Console 2.40.2
    Console Launcher 2.30.32
    Creative Volume Panel 2.0.80
    driver din 03/04/2008,6.0.0.20
This CD is better then CD from MSI, it has newer application and drivers.

  • K9N2 Diamond and Xtreme Audio Card

The sound card that came with this board came with a driver/program CD. I've followed directions and ran the installation, but when I click on the Audio Console Launcher to configure it, I get a warning that, "The current selected audio device is not supported by the application. Do you want to select another audio device now?"
    If I click "NO"...thats it.
If I click "YES", I get another warning saying, "The Creative Audio Device Selection module cannot be launched. The module may be missing from your system. You may need to reinstall your application."
If I run the CD again, to reinstall the so-called module, I still run into the same problem.
The problem really is I can't use my headset w/mic for online gaming. Headset shows up in the Playback Devices but there is no "configure" option--greyed out.
What seems to be the malfunction?

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio no bass on 5.1 surround under vista 64??

Hi there I'm not sure if this question has been asked before or not but here I go.
Is it possible to get the subwoofer on my 5. setup to work when playing music? I have an X-Fi Xtreme Audio card and I'm using Windows Vista 64bit. I downloaded the latest drivers.
When I play music only the front speakers work, there is no sound from the other speakers or the subwoofer. How do I get this to work?
I ran the tests to make sure all the speakers and the subwoofer are connected properly? (Speakers section of the X-fi menu) and they all seem to work. I have read somewhere that music is stereo and therefore wont work on the rear speakers but how do I get the subwoofer to work?
    Thanks in Advance
    Luke

Hi thanks, now all the speakers work! But still no subwoofer. I have tried the bass redirection but no luck?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks?

This is a known bug that Creative still did not fix.
For the Bass Redirection to work, the speakers must be small (not full range).
    My package fixes the issue.

  • Xtreme Audio AC3 SPDIF in Prob

I had an Audigy 2 ZS that I had configured to decode AC3 5. via SPDIF. Worked great.
I bought a new box that only supported half height cards. I bought a X-Fi Xtreme Audio card, removed the bracket (How about a half height bracket guys!?), bought a Digital I/O module and I was up and running.
Unfortunately, now I can only use PCM in on the optical in. AC3 decoding seems to be broken. Any suggestions? I would really like my 5. back!

Well, I got a little closer. I download graphedit and AC3Filter.
Added the sound card from audio capture source and rendered the capture pin. Press play and got a bunch of garbled junk. For some reason AC3Filter believes the AC3 input is 2.0 audio. Anybody have any ideas on how to get the actual 5. stream?
    So...
I changed the source back to PCM and set the output to 5.. That was pretty close. Now I have 5. sound coming out. Unfortunately, the audio was delayed by about second. Anybody know of a CLI that will play a graph? Hoping to get the audio in sync.

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio doesn't work in Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello everyone,
I know this is a known issue and I've found many topics on this, but still I can't find any solution and I hope you can help.
I've a Creative X-fi Xtreme Audio that was working perfectly under Windows XP SP3 but then I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and the sound coming out from my speakers is awful. I've installed the latest driver from creative home site, I've updated the OS via "microsoft Update", I've tried many suggestions I've found on the web to solve this, like phisically change the PCI slot of the sound card, or reduce the ram ammount via msconfig but it didn't work. I've tried some custom driver either, the support pack 2.7 by Daniel?K. but nothing... I'm still at the starting point.
    What should I do?
    This is my actual configuration:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Premium SP v 6..760
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
MB: Asus M3N78 SE (with the latest bios version 002)
    Ram: 4gb
    Video: nVidia GeForce GT 220

    I use CS4 on a Windows 7 64-bit computer.
I noticed that none of the extensions I installed with the Extension Manager don't appear at all in any of the CS4 programs.
Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work or how to solve this problem?
Try posting to the Extension Manager forum:

  • X-FI Xtreme Audio (OEM) problems with Guitar Po

Hey all, I just upgraded from a SB Li've 5. Sound card to an X-FI Xtreme Audio Card and am now having problems with guitar port. There seems to be a delay or lag time from playing to actually hearing the sound. It sounds like its about half a second or so which makes it really annoying for trying to play. Is there a remedy for this or is there something wrong with the card/drivers?Also, is Line in and Mic levels no longer in the windows volume?playback control?

You should be able to control I/Os through Windows mixer(s) and Creative Control Panel (comes with the driver package). If you like to install those software intend for X-Fi you need to download the CD image from BadBoys site (if he still has the site up an running). You get those mixers showing up either through panel which pops up when you enter mmsys.cpl in start->run... prompt (Audio tab, Volume buttons). Individual mixer panels can be called with commands sndvol32 (play) and sndvol32 /r (recording). The lag you have there is normally called as latency. You get rid of it by using ASIO driver mode with 2 - 0ms latency settings. You can set the latency through ASIO controlpanel. If the guitarport has an ASIO driver it's own, use it's control panel or try with asio4all driver (http://www.asio4all.com).jutapaMessage Edited by jutapa on 0-9-20080:0 PM
Is this a standalone driver? Or is it something used in addition to an existing sound driver? I'm having a similar problem with my mic, there is a delay (and it has to be turned up really loud to be heard, although that may be a different problem) and I'm looking for a solution.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio Line-In no

Hello there!I bought recently an X-Fi Xtreme Audio card and the purpose is to record my electric guitar. With my old Sound Blaster card I used to plug the guitar into an amp and from the amp go to the line-in. It worked OK, but the latency was quite big. With the new X-Fi card I can hear very well the guitar at the output and then I run effects software (I use Guitar Rig and also some other free software). For a few seconds everything works OK, but then a very loud high frequency noise kicks in. This noise is present even if the amp is not plugged at the Line-in input. What could be the cause? Thanks a lot for your help!

    Could it be feedback?
Check your monitoring and source settings (don't use "what u hear" as recording source).
If you use the VST/DX version of GR (etc.) in some VST host/recording software then use ASIO drivers only.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio lag prob

    Hi,
    System sepcs:
    XP SP3
    AMD 2.5GB Dual Core
    2GB 800MHz RAM
    500GB HDD 32MB cache SATAII
I have a sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio card and have the latest drivers. when i play any type of sound, music, movies etc the sound seems to 'lag' or play very slow and i tried re-formatting my computer but still no help.
    Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated.

With your Evolution e49 keys (USB), did you install the drivers to add the USB Midi In via the Properties MIDI music Playback. Once you install the drivers for that USB device, you will have the option to select and change to the USB midi device in Properties MIDI music Playback. This can be easy to do in windows xp, not in vista. In vista you have to have some DAW software installed, such as "Cakewalk SONAR Home Studio 6" to change the midi devices around within the DAW software. In audio console, you have :?MIDI Device:
SB X-Fi Synth A [EC00]?This is normal and will not see a change or can not be changed within the audio console.
I have the E-MU Xmidi x (In/Out) USB midi cable. I had to install the USB midi drivers for this device, both in Windows XP and Vista. In Windows XP>Properties MIDI music Playback, I can change to the E-MU Xmidi x USB device and use.

  • Applications for Xtreme Audio C

Vista Ultimate - 32bit and Xtreme Audio Card... will the applications on the ISO CD download work in Vista ?

Ah- can't edit here? I wanted to add that I know the Line In and my turntable are working fine since I recorded the record I was playing on my hard dri've and it plays back fine from there.

  • Speaker/Line In problem with Xtreme Audio c

I bought an SB X-FI Xtreme Audio card yesterday and installed it using the latest driver pack from Creative. Seems to work fine except for one thing. When I connected my turntable and played a record, I cannot hear the sound through my speakers. In the help file on the included CD it says you can monitor the input with stereo speakers in the line out connection, and this of course is where my speakers are connected. I must be missing something, but can't see what it is. Will someone please help me out? Thanks.

  • S/PDIF options for PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card non-existant!

Hey guys, I've been searching around for this for a while now and I still come up with anything...
I currently have a PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card installed in my PC, and this cound card has a built-in optical output port. I have been trying to set the sound card to use this port and I still can not find anyway around it.
I have searched the support pages and they always go back and say that I can enable audio on that port using the Digital I/O icon in the media console (I'm in Entertainment mode btw, doesn't seem like I can change that). However, I don't have that icon present in my media console. I tried upgrading drivers, updating software but still to no avail
So right now i'm running Windows XP (32-bit) and what seem to be the latest software and drivers for this card, and none of this is making any sense to me and so I believe that I am going mad!
I am honestly starting to believe that the port is just there for decoration...

This seems to be a fairly common issue across out in the market.
Do you not think it would be worth while chasing this down internal to Creative and sharing the solution with everyone?
Pointing us one at a time to support for what should be readily available drivers doesn't make a lot of sense.
