so i gave up on mine, gonna return my x-fi audio back on monday.
i plugged in my old sound blaster live card. and installed winxp.
i got sincerely tired of that vista aswell

X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook issues in Vista Ultimate

Hi all, first time poster. I got this card back in August and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with the sound quality, despite the problems that I've been having, and I still recommend the card to all notebook users I know that want better sound.
The issue I've been having revolves around all sound coming from the laptop, not just games, and not just music. It is most noticable in Windows Sound schemes. When, say, I double click a folder, normally?Windows would make a click sound and open the folder. For me, however, the click sound rapidly repeats itself for about 4 seconds before stopping. If I click another folder fast enough, the repeating clicking sound just gets twice as loud.
This was the only issue I had until a month ago, and I just disabled Windows Sounds to solve the issue. Recently, however, the problem has moved to every application on my computer. If I was watching a video on Youtube, and exited my browser (Firefix 3.0.3), the last split second of sound would repeat very rapidly and VERY loudly for about 4 seconds before stopping. The same thing happens when exiting a game (most often in games like Halo, where I, just like everyone I know, use Alt + F4), and when exiting iTunes or WMP (and probably any other music player, for that matter, though I haven't tested) when exiting in the middle of song playback.
Then, about 2 days ago, I started having yet another issue. It does not happen all the time, like the first problem, but it is common enough to where it has become a nuicence. I start a song, and the song will start out at about half volume. Then, over about 3 seconds, it will raise the volume by itself to the point where my headphones buzz, and I have to quickly take them off and turn the volume down as fast as I can. This happens about 25% of the time that I start a song, and has so far happened in iTunes, WMP, and Audiosurf.
These problems have been with me since I got the card in August, and so any help would be appreciated. I don't know how to check my driver version, but my device manager says my currently installed driver is version 6.0.0.20 from 3/4/2008. I have used the Creative Update Manager and haven't found anything with it. I consider myself an extremely advanced PC user (whether I seem it or not), and have never had an issue that I couldn't solve myself until this one. I'm absolutely stumped.

PCI Express X-fi Xtreme Audio - missing functions - Windows 7 64-bit

Trying to restore functionality to this card in Windows 7 64-bit. After i installed the card and the latest beta drivers from Creative, there seems to be no Gamer Mode option and in games such as Battlefield 242 and Bioshock i cannot select EAX options. All i can use is Entertainment mode. Also the Crystalizer doesn't make things clearer - all it does is make my songs go quiet/loud/quiet/loud/quiet/loud.
Any ideas folks?

Acorbat Professional can not create fully functional pdf?

This was working fine for months, until i just installed an update and now the "save as pdf" button in word 07 does not do anything (after i select i want to do a fully functional pdf). When i open professional and try and create a pdf by browsing to the word file, it says it has failed "PDF Convsersion process failed, please correct the error and retry", the message then disappears and nothing happens? The quick and simple pdf seems to work when i do it from word 07.
I have Vista, anyone have a solution?
O and i tried to repair it etc nothing worked.
Word 2007, Adobe Professional 8.1.4 and Windows Vista.

Did you try the print options I mentioned. You need to trouble shoot at the base level of the PDF creation and work your way up until the problem is found. That is why I asked about using the printer. PDF Maker (create PDF) is just a front end for the printer, thus the printer is the basic operation. Using the print-to-file just takes one more part of the process out of the picture to get to the most fundamental process. Work your way backward until things do not work and then we can possibly solve the issue.

Xtreme Audio Working on Vista 64-

I got the XTreme Audio working on Vista 64-bit by using the XP-Pro 64-bit drivers. I'm sure creative wouldn't recommend this, but it works perfect. No bugs.

Mine's an X-Fi Audio - went through your tips by the letter, and the card doesn't show up in playback devices...
The 32-bit beta driver (unsurprisingly) didn't even instal - I only tried in desperation. Gah.
Hooray for dual-boot though eh?

X-Fi Xtreme Audio, Vista Audio probl

Hi everyone,
First off, I believe I may have gotten the worse X-Fi card available. Anyways, I'm having some audio problems. It's when I turn on the the X-Fi Equalizer's 62 Hz up to almost the fullest. Then, I turn up my Media Player's volume, that's when I get soft and somewhat loud volume. The way to get rid of that is not to mess with my Media Player's volume control. But to turn up the volume control of Vista (which shows by the computer's clock). I don't know what to do. I used to have a Audigy SE, but, I read up that the X-Fi Xtreme Audio is pretty much the same card. I heard that the X-Fi XtremeGamer has almost the same problems as the X-Fi Xtreme Audio, with volume problems. Hopefully someone will reply and help me out. Vista is becoming a pain. I bet XP doesn't have these audio problems. But Vista is different when it comes to sound.

Hi,maybe someone can help me,I instalt?the new?Xtreme Audio PCIe under Vista ultimate. The SB works but everytime I want to start any of the aplications the system tells me "the audiodevice is not suportet".So there is no way to get any controll of the SB

I know with the older drivers I had no mic boost function at all, yet I did with the onboard sound. Is this fixed with the new drivers?

sorry m8 latest driver for Xtreme Audio dont solve anything...they only bring Audio Console ?Microphone not working (very very very quiet + sound distorts after few mins)?and there is no mic boost options.

X-Fi Xtreme Audio no bass on 5.1 surround under vista 64??

Hi there I'm not sure if this question has been asked before or not but here I go.
Is it possible to get the subwoofer on my 5. setup to work when playing music? I have an X-Fi Xtreme Audio card and I'm using Windows Vista 64bit. I downloaded the latest drivers.
When I play music only the front speakers work, there is no sound from the other speakers or the subwoofer. How do I get this to work?
I ran the tests to make sure all the speakers and the subwoofer are connected properly? (Speakers section of the X-fi menu) and they all seem to work. I have read somewhere that music is stereo and therefore wont work on the rear speakers but how do I get the subwoofer to work?

This is a known bug that Creative still did not fix.
For the Bass Redirection to work, the speakers must be small (not full range).
My package fixes the issue.

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI-Express) + Vista 32bit an media pla

Hi folks,Maybe someone here can help me with this issue, I recently bought a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7. Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Express), it arri'ved with the cd with software and drivers on it and i installed it into my vista 32bit without any problems.On rebooting my sound was working normally and as far as i could tell all was great untill that is i went to play some mp3 using windows media player, wmp kept telling me it couldnt play the file type then i tried to play a wma file an got the same thing, basically almost all audio types will no longer play in wmp. I rolled back the driver to use the microsoft driver (high defination audio device) and everything is playing in media player again.Only now i cant use the software suppiled with the card. Anyone have any idea how to use the creative driver and get wmp to play properly thanks in advance.
(in addition) after some messing around with various settings i discovered that this seems to be caused by the sb enhancements, when i disable them in speaker properties wmp plays as it should, althought i am rather disappointed that i have to disable the features on the card inorder to get it to work properly.

Need help with PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio - Vista

Hi, bought this card pci exprss x-fi xtreme audio and installed, had a lot of problems in vista 64. Using a logitech z5500 5. soundsystem and first tried using the optical spdif to get DTS etc working but to no joy... Started using the 3.5 kables but nothing there either. And I cant find options to set the treble and base? the sound is really medioker as it is now.
Using the latest drivers for the card issued in may 08, latest alchemy and console files. what to do?

If you installed the support pack for the card but still have driver problems, have you used windowsudpate under Windows 7? Creative submitted a basic driver for the card that shows up in driver options under Windows Update. If you can let Windows Update install that driver, then you can update AFTER rebooting with the new one.
If that windowsupdate did not work, try this:
Download the newest driver for your card. Then, if you already have winace, winzip, winrar or even the free 7Zip, then you can right click that Creative executable file and then choose to........extract to......and do so to a temporary folder on your desktop or say, c:\Creative driver.
Then go to device manager and sound video and game controllers, and to your problem sound card, click driver, and update driver and browse my computer for software, and "let me pick"? and "have disk" and then browse to.......
C:\Creative driver\Install\wdm
Whereever you downlaoded the file to, the important directory is the INSTALL\WDM and choose OK and it should show Creative X-FI. Let it copy files, and it does take awhile, and then reboot and see if your sound card works.

I want to ask you guys a question, worked ok With the 4Gb memory On Vista 32 all are good, this card are a little crippled from Creative , but i dont complained. This card sound just like Extrem Audio PCI, or like SB li've 24 or AudigySE with modded into Daniel driver Xtrem Audio.

[X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI] Bass Boost vs Vista 64

Hardware: X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI
Problem: BassBoost not working after 2nd reboot.
1) Installed drivers
2) System rebooted
3) BassBoost works
4) System rebooted
5) BassBoost NOT WORKING!
... I press "reset to defaults" -> BassBoost can work again until I reboot the system...

Thank you very much for this fix Daniel. It works great now and has removed my frustration of having to reset my settings everytime I rebooted. It might seem like a small issue to some people, but I was ready to go out and buy a new sound card because I was getting tired of having to setup my sound all the time. Thanks again,Wookie

Vista 64 - X-fi Xtreme Audio and Fatal1ty headset problem

Hi All,
I bought a Xtreme Audio soundcard today, and found a problem.
When I connect my headset with the front connection on my PC -> no problem
when I connect my microphone with the front connection on my PC -> no problem, mic is working.
When I connect them both, the microphone isn't working.
To fix it, I have to disconnect my headset
Is this a known issue ?
Or is there someone who can help me ?

Important :
Before installing, remove all traces of any previous x-fi drivers and all x-fi driver related software, using add/remove programs within the control panel and following that, by removing the driver within "Device Manager". To clean up any excess files left on your system, you should use a 3rd party program to do this job (unless you've a good understanding of the registry) A recommended program to do this is Driver Sweeper - which is freeware, and available from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ or paid version at hardwareheaven.com driver cleaner.net
