#? I cant get windows XP to recognise my Audio Card...
st, I uninstalled the onboard audio drivers/application - I was prompted to restart so i did.
I loaded BIOS and turned off onboard audio.
I re-started PC and attempted to install the Audio card from install disk. (FAILED at 72%)
Card only shows as two seperate PCI devices in "Device manager.
I downloaded latest drivers and tried to install but they wont work because the card is not recognised as anything but "PCI Device"
I uninstalled all creative + drivers
Tried 3 different drivers now..NO LUCK
I have latest BIOS version on MOBO?
How do I get XP to recognise the card as an Audio card and not PCI card ?
There are no phone numbers on this site and no support on the install disk..PLEASE HELP ME?

Did not help me.. I got this result :-
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure your product is fully installed before running this Setup Program. Setup will exit."
I went to the drivers folder and tried to install the XP drivers..With this result :-
"No supported Device Found"
This is obviously a big problem with MANY MANY posts that are similar.. FIX IT CREATIVE !! (I am tempted to buy a different brand Audio card)?

Hey all, I just upgraded from a SB Li've 5. Sound card to an X-FI Xtreme Audio Card and am now having problems with guitar port. There seems to be a delay or lag time from playing to actually hearing the sound. It sounds like its about half a second or so which makes it really annoying for trying to play. You should be able to control I/Os through Windows mixer(s) and Creative Control Panel (comes with the driver package). If you like to install those software intend for X-Fi you need to download the CD image from BadBoys site (if he still has the site up an running). You get those mixers showing up either through panel which pops up when you enter mmsys.cpl in start->run... prompt (Audio tab, Volume buttons). Individual mixer panels can be called with commands sndvol32 (play) and sndvol32 /r (recording). The lag you have there is normally called as latency. You get rid of it by using ASIO driver mode with 2 - 0ms latency settings. You can set the latency through ASIO controlpanel. If the guitarport has an ASIO driver it's own, use it's control panel or try with asio4all driver (http://www.asio4all.com).jutapaMessage Edited by jutapa on 0-9-20080:0 PM
Is this a standalone driver? Or is it something used in addition to an existing sound driver? I'm having a similar problem with my mic, there is a delay (and it has to be turned up really loud to be heard, although that may be a different problem) and I'm looking for a solution.

X-fi Xtreme Audio card problems!

Hi!?I bought a X-fi Xtreme Audio card today. installed, and now I get a big fps drop in Battlefield 2, first of all I cant enable Creative X-fi in the Audio tap under options in the game, it says the card does not supoort bla bla bla, if I chose to use Hardware I cant play the game due to extreme lag, with normal software, same settings I used with my onboard card, Realtek AC 97, I still got big fps drop... First, please refrain from using profanity on the forums: it is against the rules.
Next, it sounds like something definately isn't working right, as the X-fi shouldn't drag down your framerate at all. I would start off with a "cleansweep" uninstall/reinstall. On this website, click "Support" then KnowledgeBase, and in the searchbox type "SID72."

[X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI] Bass Boost vs Vista 64

Hardware: X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI
Problem: BassBoost not working after 2nd reboot.
1) Installed drivers
2) System rebooted
3) BassBoost works
4) System rebooted
5) BassBoost NOT WORKING!
... I press "reset to defaults" -> BassBoost can work again until I reboot the system...

Thank you very much for this fix Daniel. It works great now and has removed my frustration of having to reset my settings everytime I rebooted. It might seem like a small issue to some people, but I was ready to go out and buy a new sound card because I was getting tired of having to setup my sound all the time. Thanks again,Wookie

Driver Version Not Found" Error when installing drivers for X-fi Xtreme audio

I recently bought the game Bioshock off steam and have been unable to play as it crashes as soon as I try to launch it. After doing some digging around I found out it was a sound problem. When I was looking at the drivers for my sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio) I noticed that the driver called:?XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0079.exe has a fix for Bioshock. However when I install the driver I get the error "Driver version not found". I am positi've it is the correct driver for my sound card. I am on Windows 7 64bit.

I have Vista Ultimate x64 and I ran windows update couple days ago. There was a new update for my xtreme audio pci-e. I installed it and now my driver version in creative software update is .3.2. Before i updated i ran creative's own software update. It didn't find any new drivers. I was WTF. I think that new driver fixed my volume problem. I had problem's when there was a deep bass in a song. The sound card lowered volume levels then somehow. Now that happens no more. In vista's device control it shows the driver version as 6.0.0.203. Driver date is 7 october 2008.

Problem with SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card Installat

I just completed installation of my X-Fi Xtreme Audio card for PCI express slot. I followed instructions and cancelled the prompt for audio drivers (by the hardware wizard) and installed via the Creative Labs CD. The installation went well and the card appears to be
functioning normally. My problem is that whenever I boot up the computer, the hardware wizard keeps discovering my card as new hardware and prompting me for a driver. I have been cancelling each time, but the last time I put in the CD, and had it search for the driver in the Audio/Drivers/driver/WinXP/bin, but it didn't seem to be able to locate the driver to satisfy itself.
What should I do (besides turning off the hardware wizard) to end this cycle of "new hardware found" episodes every time I boot.
I hope that someone can help with this.
ps: I would have liked to speak briefly with a Creative Tech Support person, but they seem to have conveniently left any telephone contact numbers off of their website, so I must depend on your help. Thanks.

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

To : woj2322, You may need to download and install the Dell Notebook System Software version 5.0.5. This installs patch fixes to solve the PCI ExpressCard device not work correctly. This is only for the DELL Inspiron 520 Notebook (See Below). Microsoft patch fix info below also. Also, I see there's other people that are having the same issue, maybe you to need to download and install the patch fix for your notebook's on dell's website. X-Fi Xtreme Audio Bought - Successfully Installed Drivers, but NO 5.

so, as the topic title sais, i just bought the CL X-Fi Xtreme Audo 5.-Card (as i found out, that CL seems to?be the ONLY manufacturer, which has Vista X64-drivers), well and after plugging in the card, successfully installing the driver off the front-page (....XX65a somewhat), also in configuration i could hear sound off all 6 speakers (5+sub) successfully, but when i tried to play mp3-files, i only heard sound off the 2 front-speakers. Is there any option to activate FULL SOURROUND (so 5.) MP3-Playback for windows media player?On my previous sound-drivers - which was realtek 5..-onboard, there was a solution as option 'virtual sourround', which played mp3-files up to all 6 speakers, but also distorted the sound so much - echoes and really 'dumb' sound - that i decided to buy a new 5.-card. I Can't even play movie-files with AC3-Audio (means REAL 5.-channel-mapping) as 5.. There i still hear my Front-Speakers only, too! (at leas my onboard-realtek-driver had this). So how to fix this problems. well, thanks for the tip! just tried installing the windows XP-drivers (without the software-lab-music-stuff, so just config tools and included XP(!)-driver) it got installed finely (now i'm having driver 5.2..68 from 3.0.2006) and it managed to load the configuration/console drivers. with the redirect subw. option i got 2. sound (front and sub) and with EAX enabled i managed to get all speakers, but the sound is so awfully equalized and echoed, that this sounds stupid. now i will go to sleep and after that i'm gonna try to install the vista x64-driver from the main-page. thanks again for your help. (i was closely about to bring that card back to store and get me my 70 euros back. (because of the above mentionned issues i had).

Installation Problem with SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio P

I bought a X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe yesterday and I can't install this card on my WinXP 32bit.
My Board is an Asus A8N-E with a nforce4 ultra chipset.
Windows detects a "pci device" at startup.
In the hardware manager there is a "pci device" listed with a black exclamation mark on yellow ground.
But I can't install the driver correctly. The driver always says that "no supported hardware" is found.
I have tried out the driver on the CD and many drivers from the internet.
Does anybody know a solution?

I see several issues here:?. It's an AMD system.2. Aside from my bias towards preferring Intel systems, the actual issue is related to the ESCD system. In modern day boards, you have a system called Extended System Configuration Data that holds the information from the Plug and Play Identifier that is read from a card when it is plugged into a board. This is what triggers the New Hardware Found information. If this identifier can't be decoded correctly, the .inf file with the PnP coding in it can't identify the card, and the drivers will not load, and with the NT kernal system, they can't be forcibly installed very well either, and in most cases, the board won't initialize correctly anyway. Possible Resolutions:?. Try updating the motherboards BIOS if you haven't done this already. According to Asus, the latest (and most likely final) edition is 03. They have a Windows installer which can update the BIOS, but you need to make sure ALL background programs, Anti-Virus, ect. are closed down to prevent a corruption of the BIOS update.
PLEASE USE CAUTION UPDATING YOUR BIOS AS IT WILL RENDER YOUR BOARD INOPERABLE
!!! 2. Remove all other cards if any, and be sure the onboard sound is disabled. You may simply have something preoccupying the memory addresses the card wants to use.
3. Be sure to go into the BIOS and Enable Reset Configuration Data. This will clear the ESCD. Once cleared it will redetect the board, and unless there is a problem on the board's PnP side, it should pick it up. 4. One big possibility is the RAM and/or the CPU. While it is rare the CPU causes this issue, it unfortunately is not unheard of. However, bad RAM is not unheard of, and will usually manifest itself with the computer also having unusual problems like locking up unexpectantly, poor DVD playback (excessi've artifacts, pausing, ect.), and the famed BSOD or spontaneous reboots. It is also noted that the nForce 4 chipset and the Sound Blaster cards have known compatibility issues. I also have a small issue as it is with my nForce 680i chipset and the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum. This is also a known problem, and it will not be resolved. The card works, but just has problems when running the Test in 5. and 7. modes. It is my overall guess it is simply a BIOS issue, and if you update the BIOS and the problems continue, then you will want to send the card back for a replacement. If the replacement has the same issue, I'd replace the motherboard. I hope this hel

Xfi Xtreme Audio Problems with Microphone and other things NEED HELP!!!!

? Alright i have exhausted my search for an answer for my problems.... This is a last resort now!
Im running Windows 7
st Problem: I was having problems with my microphone where people heard themselves through my microphone. Ok well i have a creative Fatility series headset with a supposed noise canceling mic. So last night i was like screw it imma put in the install disk for my sound card Xfi Xtreme Audio.
This Arose my 2nd Problem: Now that the drivers were installed and i finaly got a volume panel it says im running Windows Vista. The name next to my card says Sound Blast X-Fi Xtreme Audio (Vista). Alright so i am running windows 7.... What the heck! Next thing is my microphone doesnt even work! This is just awsome btw and im pretty sure the volume panel isnt even the way it was when i was on an XP system.
So if anyone has a fix to this problem let me know it would be great!

A quick update i was able to fix Problem 2, i had to get rid of what i installed so im just back to Problem . I dont have the VOlume Panel anymore but my microphone still seems to make it so that people can hear themselves....

For example, right now the Software Update don't detect my card, even if all seems to work nearly fine (popping and crashing on small sound like directory navigation on Win 7).
So I'm asking: What is the best and official way to install those drivers, including the Console Launcher, on Win 7 ?
Do I have to, from a clean Windows 7, to plug my card, wait for Win 7 to detect and donwload drivers, and instal after that my original XP CD drivers coming with the card to have the Console Launcher?
Or: Do I have, from a clean Win 7 configuration, to remove my internet connection to avoid Win 7 to find a drivers, to install first my XP CD comming from Creative (to have the Console Launcher), and after that to install official Win 7 drivers from Creative web site ?
Or, do I have, from a clean Win 7 configuration without any internet connection, to first install official Creative Win 7 drivers for my card, and after that to install "something" from "somewhere"? to get the last Console Laucher application?
Or does Creative made a great full package for my card "a la" Daniel_K for Win 7 I just have to install?

Audio Configuration problem detected after install

During the download of the new ITunes version I had a major power failure. I went back and completed the download and after the installation I got an error message that ITunes could not be opened due to an audio configuration problem detected. I went to the Apple site and downloaded a new version from scratch and after the install I got the same audio error. Any Suggestions?

X-fi Xtreme Audio - Can't access/install mode switcher

I've been trying to access the touted 'Audio Creation Mode' for its bit-matched playback and sound quality, however I don't have any of the fancy creative driver programs - instead I have a standard Windows 7 menu, with 8 tabs. (I'll try to get screens if it comes to it).
I double checked my drivers, I am on V .04.0090, however upon attempting to install 'Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0079' , I recieve the error 'Driver Version is not found', preventing me from installing the mode switcher and audio console...
Stumped on how to fix this,? thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Well thanks, but in that case I'm confused by why the post the audio pack alongside the Xtreme Audio in the download section... surely it was meant to be compatible if placed there?

JSB Xtreme Audio Notebook optical out problem with Home TheaterSystem-HELP!, I have this sound card connected?(optical OUT) ?to my home?theater system's digital IN ?through the recommended /8in. optical miniplug-to-optical SPDIF cable. Theater system is set correctly to Digital-In mode. I have no sound!
The cable is a Velocity Toslink-to-Optical Mini Plug digital cable. I don't see any settings in the Creative Console Launcher. The notebook is a Dell XPS M730 (Vista 32).
I have a PS3, DirecTV, and the SB Xtreme Audio Notebook cable on a hub switch that connects to the system's?one Optical IN. The PS3 and DirecTV sound perfect!
The sound card works fine with standard PC speakers. I'm at a loss as?to what to try next. I set this whole system up myself, so I'm pretty good at working out the kinks, except this one!

OK. I just went to Control Panel - Sound - Playback - Digital Output Device (SB Xtreme Audio Notebook) - Properties - Advanced. I experimented with different sample rates and bit depths. Clicked the test button and lo and behold - sound from the HTS! I've tried iTunes, PowerDVD (configured to digital output) and YouTube - no sound! Am I missing something really obvious?
HA! Just backed out to Playback and selected Digital Output Device (SPDIF) and set as Default. Sound is emunating from HTS! Well, that mystery is solved! Who knew.
Thanks anyway! Any comments or advice will still be appreciated.

Vista 64 - X-fi Xtreme Audio and Fatal1ty headset problem

Hi All,
I bought a Xtreme Audio soundcard today, and found a problem.
When I connect my headset with the front connection on my PC -> no problem
when I connect my microphone with the front connection on my PC -> no problem, mic is working.
When I connect them both, the microphone isn't working.
To fix it, I have to disconnect my headset
Is this a known issue ?
Or is there someone who can help me ?
