X-Fi Xtreme Audio + Windows 7 = Freeze

&X-Fi Xtreme Audio + Windows 7 = Freeze@ So after installing Windows 7 64bit Build 700, I downloaded the beta drivers and installed them.
I went into the Audio/Sound options and selected the proper drivers to use for audio.
The first time I did this, I had no issues, for about a week, then my PC would begin to freeze randomly. No blue screen, just a freeze. Everytime I rebooted the PC, it would get to the login screen, and freeze just as it loaded, or after i entered my login info.
/reformated.
Did it again, had the same issues, but instead of reformatting, so i started using safe mode which worked, and
I started removing all my drivers I had installed, once I got to the audio driver, everything worked correctly. So i disabled the card and removed the drivers and i'm now using my onboard sound (which is fine) but that's not the point.
I tried searching , but wasn't able to find anything similar. I realized new drivers have been released, but I don't know if i want to risk all the freezing.
Do you know if this is something that was addressed?

#Did this happen right after you install the sound card new or did this happen out of the blue?
Sorry I don't have any further suggestion at this point, you might want to contact Customer Support to see how they can help you further.

Hi I have Windows 7 and a PCI X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card. (Not PCI-E). My problem is I get random audio glitches when listening to music or playing a game. No card I have had before had this problem. My computer is fast enough and I have the latest Windows 7 X-Fi Xtreme Audio driver installed. So what might be causing this?

• X-fi Xtreme Audio Windows 7 SP1

Hello All,
Having issues with my X-fi Xtreme Audio in Windows 7 SP. Drivers are installed and the card is being detected by the Creative Audio Control Panel but not getting any sound coming through my headphones. Have tried the front headphone Jack and rear output no sound on both.
Have Tried the driver from windows update and from Creative same thing with both driver sets. I know the card isn't faulty as the pc dual boots with Ubuntu .04 and the sound card works fine in that OS (on front and rear audio jacks)
I have also tried uninstalling the drivers, then cleaning using driver sweeper then a reinstall and still no sound please help.

This has probably been beaten to death by now, and then some, but what the heck.. here goes anyway.
Here are some links high-res close-up photos of an , a , and a , high-res enough to read the labels on the various chips and components.
Mystery solved, the X-Fi Extreme Audio doesn't use the CA20K chip (X-Fi), but some mysterious CA060-WBTLF chip. The CA060 code also appears on the Li've! 24 bit and the Audigy SE, if that means anything.Message Edited by CreativeSkeptic on 03-23-20072:54 AM

No need, Creative already did in the 32 bit X-Fi drivers,
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Windows Vista Driver .04.0065 (0.54 MB)
XFXA_VTDRV_LB__04_0065A.exe
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit Windows Vista Driver .04.0065 (0.54 MB)
SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0065A.exe
and if you download and extract them both, the inf's are the same.

• SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Audio: short freeze / dropouts

hi,
my problem is:
from time to time my audio playback stops and whatever's coming out of my speakers at that point stopps for half a second or so and then continues as it should. video output and key/mouse input freezes while this happens.
it happens during regular working and in games.
it's annoying and I don't know what causes this problem. so I don't know how to fix it.
specs:
Soundblaster X-FI Xtreme Audio PCI? driver version 5.2..62
Windows XP SP3 and latest fixes
Core2Quad Q6600
3 GB DDR2-RAM
GA EP-35 DS3
GeForce 8800GT PCIe
TP Link WiFi PCI
anything that might help would be nice!

There is a very good reason why it tells you your card isn't supported, that's because it isn't,?This download?is an?application for Creative Sound Blaster? X-Fi? series of audio devices. It restores 3D audio and EAX? effects for certain DirectSound?3D games in Microsoft? Windows Vista?. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro<

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatalty<
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series<

?Alchemy was written to translate DirectSound3D software calls to OpenAL hardware calls, and unfortunately the Xtreme Audio doesn't have the hardware, the EMU20K2?(all that card basically is is a renamed SB Li've 24 bit/Audigy SE, neither of which have the hardware either).

• X-fi Xtreme Audio doesn't work in Windows 7 64 bit

Hello everyone,
I know this is a known issue and I've found many topics on this, but still I can't find any solution and I hope you can help.
I've a Creative X-fi Xtreme Audio that was working perfectly under Windows XP SP3 but then I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and the sound coming out from my speakers is awful. I've installed the latest driver from creative home site, I've updated the OS via "microsoft Update", I've tried many suggestions I've found on the web to solve this, like phisically change the PCI slot of the sound card, or reduce the ram ammount via msconfig but it didn't work. I've tried some custom driver either, the support pack 2.7 by Daniel?K. but nothing... I'm still at the starting point.
What should I do?
This is my actual configuration:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Premium SP v 6..760
CPU: AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
MB: Asus M3N78 SE (with the latest bios version 002)
Ram: 4gb
Video: nVidia GeForce GT 220

I use CS4 on a Windows 7 64-bit computer.
I noticed that none of the extensions I installed with the Extension Manager don't appear at all in any of the CS4 programs.
Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work or how to solve this problem?
Try posting to the Extension Manager forum:

• X-fi Xtreme Audio card Digital I/O in Windows Vi

Hallo,?Recently I bought an X-fi Xtreme Audio card and installed it in a PC using both Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista. The card has to work connected to a Creative Inspire 5. Digital 5700 external decoder. I installed the card and used it with no problems under windows XP SP2.
In order to connect the card with the external decoder I had to check an option "Digital Output only" in Entertainment Mode - Speakers and headphones section. Now, on the same computer, I'm trying to use the card with Windows Vista.
The system recognize the card and I was able to install software and driver for the card (driver version is .4.65 as "Creative System Information" application reported). If I connect an headphone to Line Out connector I can hear music playing. But I cannot select Digital I/O output.
In Vista, Entertainment Mode hasn't any checkbox to allow "Digital Output only" to work.
So I don't have any idea on how select Digital I/O output. Anyone can help me?Thank you in advance.

Hi?I had the same problem, and here is the solution. ) Make sure u download the latest drivers for Vista. 2) After the installation u can goto the Control Panel> Sound Settings? You will see that there is 2devices listed. st is the Speakers configuration2nd there is the SPDIF configuration. Alter first the Speakers configuration to ur needs, enable the Digital out! > make sure u never select a frequency above 48khzAlter the SPDIF settings and test the sample rates that is given on the screen sothat u know what works with the card and not. If there are any problems leave the settings i gave exactly as instructed, and then goto urAudio Console and check there is a headphone settings and disable them. Try again thereafter!?Good Luck!Marvin?IT & Audio Specialist

%x-fi xtreme audio option on windows 7? hello all members and staff from soundblaster.
i come here to find help about a situation i have steped on and is making me some lack.
i am using windows 7 and downloaded the latest drivers from soudblaster for my x-fi xtreme audio (non pci-e) and i noticed that an option enabled on other operating sistems is no longer avaiable.
this option was called the 'what you hear' and basicaly it captured by hardware all my computer sounds and allowed me to record them with no problems. with windows 7 i am not having this option anymore.
this option was very usefull for me since i was operating a small radio online for events on a 3d virtual city and that way i was able to send music and my voice over a stream to all members on that virtual city with excelent quality.
at this time, without that option, i dont know how to set up a good quality and due this issue i wish to know if this functionality of the soudcard will be avaiable again with windows 7.
i had this feature either with windows XP or vista.
with no further subjets, my thanks in advance for any help provided.

• Sb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit

Asb x-fi xtreme audio console launcher problems on windows 7 32bit'sI recently installed windows 7, because I was tired from Windows XP, but unfortunately after installing all the drivers for my hardware I realized my 5. isn't working quite as expected.
My first problem was, that the Crystalizer didn't work, after installing tons of different software, found on creative labs forums the crystalizer started working.
Then I realized that the CMSS-3D wasn't (and still isn't working). How do I fix that ? I've tried numerous ways but nothing happens, while in windows XP everything worked fine after installing the drivers.
I also miss some configuration options in the Creative Console Launcher, namely the check boxes:
?"Automatically enable headphone settings" and "Automatically mute speakers".
Where the hell did they go?! I use them, I need them. How do I get them back? Is XP somehow privileged than 7? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?
I also can't change the speaker configuration - it's stays 5. whatever I do, and the drop-down menu with the choices is missing?! Auto-detect option doesn't work, and if it did worked - I don't need it.

To : woj2322, You may need to download and install the Dell Notebook System Software version 5.0.5. This installs patch fixes to solve the PCI ExpressCard device not work correctly. This is only for the DELL Inspiron 520 Notebook (See Below). Microsoft patch fix info below also. Also, I see there's other people that are having the same issue, maybe you to need to download and install the patch fix for your notebook's on dell's website. It's called "Dell Notebook System Software" under "System Utilities"

• Driver Version Not Found" Error when installing drivers for X-fi Xtreme audio

I recently bought the game Bioshock off steam and have been unable to play as it crashes as soon as I try to launch it. After doing some digging around I found out it was a sound problem. When I was looking at the drivers for my sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio) I noticed that the driver called:?XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0079.exe has a fix for Bioshock. However when I install the driver I get the error "Driver version not found". I am positi've it is the correct driver for my sound card. I am on Windows 7 64bit.

Hey!
I have Vista Ultimate x64 and I ran windows update couple days ago. There was a new update for my xtreme audio pci-e. I installed it and now my driver version in creative software update is .3.2. Before i updated i ran creative's own software update. It didn't find any new drivers. I was WTF. I think that new driver fixed my volume problem. I had problem's when there was a deep bass in a song. The sound card lowered volume levels then somehow. Now that happens no more. In vista's device control it shows the driver version as 6.0.0.203. Driver date is 7 october 2008.

• Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express 1)

Hi, I've recently bought a SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express edition).
Before I address my issue, I'd like to point out that my rig is:
Maximus Extreme (mobo)?
Q6600 (cpu)
ATI4870 (vid card)
4Gigs of DDR3 (ram)
and my OS is Vista Home Edition (32 bit precision)?
And so after physically installing the hardware, I quickly installed everything there was on the CD- this included the drivers available on the CD. After this installation, I restarted then found most recent updates via online sources (creative.com). But even after all of this, I wasn't able to get my microphone to work. Now from my understanding, the jack is shared between Line-In and Microphone and I'm supposed to configure this setting. And so I tried to do that, but my only problem was that I was unable to use any of the available features. After researching for a few hours I found out that I, appearently have to uninstall everything that I had installed and then reinstall everything from online sources (from creative.com-- latest drivers for vista 32 bit). But even then, I still can't use my mic or configure the settings so that I could use microphone instead of Line-In.
Now going back to my actual question, how do I configure the settings so that I could use Microphone instead of Line-In?

ERe: Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express )[ Bumping.
Almost the same problem here.
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio edition, Windows 7 64bit.
I downloaded the latest driver from the Creative site, installed it, update with the update manager and then i installed the console.
Issue number : I DONT have your same console. I dont have a "Mode" button, im stuck in Entertainment Mode. I cant control almost nothing and i dont have all the options u have.
Issue number 2: My mic isnt working good. It's VERY low on volume, i cant be heard without the +20db boost (the only boost option i have, i cant boost more) and even with that acti've that's not that loud.
It is still working good with my onboard realtek soundcard. I cant understand what's the problem and how to solve it.
Ah, my headset is a Creative Fatality.
