X-Fi Xtreme Music probl

Ok so I just got my new X-Fi Xtreme Music soundcard from Newegga few days ago and I am having troubles with it. Ok I orignally disabled my onboard sound in the bios and uninstalled the drivers for my onboard sound, which never worked (it was SBLi've!). I installed the card and everything correctly. When I boot up it gives me an error saying "Error loading p7.dll The specified module can not be found". Windows recognizes that there is a new PCI card, but when I use Creatives drivers it says that it can not load them because I don't have the specified hardware. I have double checked to make sure that onboard sound is disabled, but I swear the option to enable/disable it is gone! I looked everywhere and it is no where to be found. I currently have the latest drivers and bios for all my hardware.
My mobo is a MSI Neo4 K8N/SLI. I was having some problems with it and my PSU (X-connect 500w) when I first built the system but since then everything but my sound has been going fine. Thanks in advance.

Seems like an registry error to me. If the setup is startet, there is an information set anywhere in your system, that you have done something. If this information is not deleted, the setup will think: you have done something already like driver installation/ deinstallation. I hope you didnt deinstall the driver and then, without rebooting, shot the rest down with driver- cleaner... Do you know: windows has a function to reset itself to a previous state. In german " System- wiederherstellung " ! (system restauration?) Try this.

I search and see that there are some users with the same problem but i dont see a solid answer. The things that i do to try the fix the problem was clean and unninstall the drivers and soft with tools like driver sweeper etc and install the last driver but the result is the same. The only thing i found like a temporal solution when the problem happend its do the the assignement in the panel thx. I want to ask you if there is a solution, a permanent one...plz! becausa i am going to the thx panel like 30 times per day!!! i am going crazy! For more details i copy and edit a message from a user that have the same problem that i , read it plz : Ever since installing the latest drivers, 2.5. or whatever they are, I have sound and 5. support now using an X-Fi Xtreme music with Vista 64 bit (2GB), The card just randomly swaps channels on me. What I mean is, if I start from a fresh boot, I'll get all 5 speakers working in a 5. movie or video game or mp3. Shortly after though, it will swap all the sound to only the back channels and then only teh front channels, and sometimes only the center channel. Most of times it does in pairs , meaning that it wont be like front left and back right, always both back speakers and then both front speakers. Either way, it totally breaks the surround sound and it's rather annoying to hear the sound travel from front to back etc. Is there some way to fix this or anyone know the cause of this I'm about done with Creative and their crappy support for Vista. I might have to go back to on board 5. support if this keeps up. Well if you need something else! please let me know! and if you give me a hand i will be very happy ^^ . Thank you and a big hugh from argentina! PD: PLZ CREATIVE! YOUR SOUNDCARDS ARE THE BEST ! IN MY OPINION! BUT YOUR DRIVERS AND SUPPORT NEEDS MORE ATTENTION! PLZ!!! DO SOMETHING! FOR YOUR BEST!!!!!!

THIS IS A 3RD PARTY METHOD AND OF COURSE THERE IS NO SUPPORT !!!
BEFORE YOU PROCEED PLEASE UNISTALL EVERYTHING AND USE DRIVERSWEEPER OR DRIVERCLEANER TO CLEAN YOUR REGISTRY TOO !!!

    Thanks.
Will this distort my sound quality at all, or will the signal be equally good when split?

  • SB Xtreme Music and Counter-strike Source He

    Hello,
I have a sound blaster xtreme music and I play the game counter-strike source. I have having a problem with the surround sound. I can hear everything around me except behind me when I play. Ive tried everything to get it but I just cant figure? it out. Can some help me!

I do not have other games, only CSS - well the valve games i bought.
When I am in Ventrilo, the others hear me with the audio creation, I can change the effects and they hear it. Although, in counter strike, it makes no change to my audio- my audio just sounds normal, so I thought the diagnostic from SB would show me something. The above error might be the reason, but I do not know what that actually means.
    Thanks

noticable difference looks different (no gold connectors, and is missing the X-fi Xtreme fidility logo on the card)
    thanks

    Bulk Version -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulk_purchasing
Means : without Coloured Package, only Card + CD
The Creative CD works on Vista, but doesn't know about XP. Don't have a XP Version here to Test.
On the CD isn't anything like Vista only or something else...so i think it should work on XP too
btw: i doesn't use the CD, use the Youp-Pax Driver for best Sound and minimal Installationfiles.

  • Vista + Xtreme Music = no 5.1 sounds in Team Fortres

Ok, finally took the plunge into Vista. All went well until I tried a few games. Main issue is that Team Fortress 2 now only plays sound from the centre channel - the other 4 speakers do not output any other sound. It's a clean install only 3 days ago, latest drivers for everything (as of 2 days ago), TF2 set to output to 5. speakers, Xtreme Music set to game mode with 5. speakers. No dice. Other sys specs:680i moboX-Fi XtremeMusic8800GTX680i SLI mobo2 x WD Raptor HD in RAID 0 mode2GB DDR800Logitech 5. speakers Any ideas

It used to work, I think Valve broke it in their 0/3 update. This was on their list of fixes:
"Fixed problems with 3d sound in surround mode for some Audigy X-Fi users."
There is a workaround for now. Enter the console and execute the following commands:
    snd_legacy_surround
    snd_restart
This doesn't seem to sound as good as it used to, but at least sound comes out of all the speakers. Hopefully Valve gets it fixed soon.

  • Xfi-Xtreme Music Problems after updating dri

I recently updated my xtreme music sound card drivers from this website and since my music quality has not been the same. With my headphones off music seems sound poor and while watching movies the sound fades out to the point i cant even hear it. The only way i can fix this is by moving the graphic equalizer to the left or right and then i can hear it again. I also dont seem to get any sound out of my centre speaker but i do with the other 4 around my room. Ive tried reinstalling the new drivers and even the old ones and nothing works. Ive alo tried doing the clean boot and driver uninstallation but i get stuck at the point where i hide all microsoft services and click disable all. For some reason i cant click disable all when microsoft services is clicked. Ive run out of idea's. Any help would bhe appreciated.
Im running windows xp and have never had any problems with sound untill now.
Thanks in adance for any help.

You need a cable that meets the HD audio spec. AC97 is not correct for that card. I've heard of some damage actually being done to some cards by using AC97 on a HD audio header connection. I've also never heard of a case front panel assembly not having the cable as part of it.

  • Does the DDL and DTS Connect Pack work with a X-Fi Xtreme Music UAA

    ? Hello,
hope u don't mind my English. I have learned it a long time ago, don't need it very often and the grammer was always my problem.
I know the patch works with a X-Fi Xtreme Music, but I am not sure about the UAA (what does this mean and do I need optical or coax out). I tried the titanium pcie before but then I have the skipping/lags effect like some others with Powerdvd9 Ultra as well. It seems that there is no workaround for this. I have no problems with my old X-Fi Xtreme Audio
    Thanks in advance
    scorpie
    PS.
Maybe there is a workaround now but I can't find something
    Some infos:
    Board Asus P5B
2 Nvidea Gards 8800GT and 9500 GT (no SLI)
    XP 64 bit SP3
    8GIG Ram
    LG GGC-H20L

SPDIF out has nothing to do with support. I have no idea what hte Xtreme Music UAA supports. I would imagine if it uses the DSP from the normal X-FI line, it would. If it uses the DSP from the Xtreme Audio, it won't.

  • Xi-Fi Xtreme Music and Windows Vista 32 bit driv

I have a lot of problems with Vista driver. There is only one driver and it doesn't work correctly. Sometimes I have very bad noise, the sound skips, and it often has disturbance. When I connect the integrated sound card there are no problems. But I didn't give 00 $ for noise and to use intergrated soundMessage Edited by Botev92 on 05-29-20070:4 AM

Well to give Creative their due even if they took their time there are new drivers out for the X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista and they work just fine. You can even select the different modes (entertainment, Game or Audio Creation) from within the Audio Console menu. Link:http://us.creative.com/support/downl...type=0&x=3&y=9

  • Help, should I get xtreme audio or xtreme music?

I want to get a sound card for my PC. Currently I am using an in built Realtek sound card. I need the sound card for the purposes of recording vocal performances using karaoke backing tracks connecting a karaoke player to a mixer (connected to a studio condenser mic) which is connected to the line in input of the PC. I also need it to record vocal and acoustic guitar performances (guitar connected to the Behringer 202FX mixer). I don't know which sounblaster sound card is suitable for my need. At the moment my eyes are on xtreme music and xtreme audio but I don't know the difference. I know xtreme music has the audio creation feature (as well as the entertainment and gaming features) but I don't know if xtreme audio also has this audio creation feature. Does xtreme audio has a Graphical Interface Unit (GUI) which has an audio creation settings like in this Youtube video tutorial?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocsxTUZa60I?
Can anyone give me any advise as to which one is the one that works for what I want to do?

None. Stay away from creative as if have win7 you are burned. The cards will give you great problems as they do not have proper drivers. Most possibly you won't hear anything from your speakers.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Music and Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speakers NOT Working Digitally

Can someone tell me why I cannot get the digital I/O jack to ouput the my speakers? I have tried using the creative I/O module plugged into the digital I/O jack then using a coaxial cable or optical to the 5700 speakers and neither works. I tried using the miniplug to digital DIN adapter that came with the 5700 speakers and it doesn't work. I know the speakers are fine cause they work fine using the onboard sound digital ouput. Did Creative do something to the X-Fi line of cards here?

  • X-Fi Xtreme Music - PC won't boot - a bit unus

    (Please, excuse my english)
    Hi.
I bought an X-Fi Xtreme Music about a month ago.
It worked fine with the newest drivers, but I had some Crackle/Pop Issues and sound loses under GTA San Andreas that I didn't manage to fix as everyone.
My mobo is an old DFI AK75EC, with a VIA KT33A Chipset and AC97 onboard. My Graphic card was a Geforce FX 5600, but yesterday, it started to die (lines on the screen), so I had to replace it with a Geforce 2 MX.
So I took off all the PCI cards and cleaned all the dust inside 'cause i'm not a dirty person, and when I finally replace the X-Fi, the PC was unable to start. I tried all the PCI ports.
The problem is not the graphic card, I replaced the old one (working fine, but the lines), and no result.
The AC97 can be deactivated from bios or from mobo (via a jumper), but both methods show no results.
My X-Fi card have a black heatsink, so I guess It's the latest firmware revision, but I can't be sure.
Now, what can I do? Will Creative contact DFI to help them creating a new bios for a Mobo that had no update since 2002?
Or maybe I can send them the card and have my money back (Oh my god, the pack has already been recycled, I only have the card to send).
Or maybe I can just start crying, cause I lost in the same day the two most recent part of my computer... Yeah, let's cry.Message Edited by Echap0 on 06-0-200708:5 PM

If the card was working originally, then I don't think the issue is that you need a BIOS update, it sounds more like something broke. Do you have access to another system you could try the soundcard in? When you removed it, something could have become damaged, it could simply be the case that the card is faulty.

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Windows 7 x64 (Temp Fix)

Here is my issue, I have a Dell XPS 70 with this card in it. I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed and everything works perfect except for sound. I get very little sound, and what I do get is HIGHLY distorted. Sometimes my sound card locks up and I have to end explorer.exe and restart it.
This happens in XP x64 and Vista x64 in ALL versions as well. The reason this happens is because I'm using 4 GB of RAM. I actually throttle down my memory to 3 GB using MS Config.
If anyone else having this issue can offer me some sort of advice so I can not only get my Gb of RAM back, I'd like to add more in the future.
    Dell XPS 70 - Windows 7 Ultimate - 4x GB RAM, GeForce 8800GTX, SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music

YRe: I tried that yesterdayRe: SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Windows 7 x64 (Temp Fix)j Did your system actually see the whole 4 gigs? Some systems dont see all the ram to begin with and the memory hole fix or anything else do not work. I had an Asrock 939 board that could not see all four gigs of ram in Vista or Windows 7. I changed to a Gigabyte board and have had no problems since. Dell uses a lot of less-expensi've boards that may or may not have this incompatibility. You can check and see if they have issued a chipset driver update or even a bios update for your system. I did have to swap my motherboard though for my system to see past 3 gigs, let alone use it correctly. Since I moved away from Nvidia chipsets I have been really lucky with what I can or cannot put in my system.
I use a Gigabyte with an ATI/AMD chipset and I have been lucky enough to escape the SNAP, CRACKLE, and Pop people talk about......

  • No subwoofer with X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to analog 5.1 inputs of HT amplifier

I have a X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to the analog 5.1 channel inputs of my Thomson home theater amplifier.
Everything works fine expect for the subwoofer. When I play stereo content using CMSS 3D or when I use Creative's built-in DD or DTS decoders there's no sound of of the subwoofer. All the other speakers work perfectly but the subwoofer doesn't respond at all.
But when I use PowerDVD to playback a DVD/BluRay which has a Dolby or DTS 5.1 soundtrack the subwoofer works like a charm. I guess that's because PowerDVD uses it's own DD/DTS decoder and not the X-Fi's one.
I also tried to use the bass redirection function in the THX console but that didn't make a difference either.
I also tried different drivers but non of them could fix this so far:
-latest official driver and console launcher available from Creative (couldn't try the bass redirection with this driver as it has no THX console)
    -SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 2.0?by ?daniel_k
-SB X-Fi Series AuzenForte Pack .0 by daniel_k
Does anyone know that problem or maybe even know how to fix it's?
If it can't be fixed on the software side I thought about using a Y-cable and a low pass filter to input the X-Fi's center speaker signal into my amplifier's subwoofer input. The only problem with that would be that I would have to switch to the X-Fi's real subwoofer output and back when I play back a DVD or BluRay using PowerDVD as PowerDVD outputs the bass signal to the subwoofer output like it should be.
What do you think about that workaround?
    Thanks

Welcome to my dillema... i own the x-fi fatality and i'm on the virge of dumping it in favour of competition's cards. problem is that x-fi will NOT encode 5. over digital. Yes your receiver has 5. decoder but the card does NOT encode the sound. at best you'll get 2 channels. azuntech cards are capable of this I believe. what i am doing at the moment is use RCA cables and go over analog and let x-fi do the work as opposed to the receiver. 2x /8 stereo to 2 cable RCA, and /8 stereo to 3 cable RCA (camcorder type) cables. alternati'vely you can spend couple bucks and buy the adapter creative sells for connecting to home theater system. as far as what you can do to get x-fi to do 5. over digital... well there's not a hell of a lot you can do because the card doesn't support it... unless a creative staff can correct me and show me how to do this

  • Poor X-FI Xtreme Music sound quality due to speake

I purchased a X-FI Xtreme music the other day, poped her in, and she sounded beautiful. That is until a couple days ago, when some songs I play having static sound (games run alot better now, because I was running a SB Li've! 24 BIt, it used alot of CPU). The main reason I love this card so much is because of the lightened load on my CPU, and because games sound so much better now. Problem is some of my music sounds like it has static fuzz in it, where other songs sound perfectly normal. Im wondering if it is my sound card, my speakers (I have TomMade 2. speakers, have had em for about 8 months, so they are getting old, cost me about 80 bucks Canadian when I got them) or the song file itself (because some songs sound normal, or perhaps the instruments are just so loud I cant hear the static). I dont know if it might be my speakers because they are old. And as for wonderng if its the sound file itself, the one song I hear it big time on is a quiet song at the start, but with some instrumental, and I hear static big time. Other songs are louder, and I dont know if i can hear the static or not. Coming from my SB LIve! 24 Bit, games sound better on my X-Fi, but I have to say that songs probably sound better on my SB Li've!. I didnt really notice alot of static on my old card, but maybe I just wasnt paying attention. Is there anyway I can be sure of what the problem is?
Another question but off topic, with my old card's software, I could change my output to 96 Hz. With the new software I can change digital output to 96, but Im not running digital speakers, I have analog (im guessing thats the SPDIF input settings under audio console) but if I go there, the SPDIF box is greyed out saying default. Perhaps the sound quality is lessened because the card thinks Im running digital?

96khz output is in thx console on the tab speaker selection and the heading "digital output sampling frequency" if you don't have then somethings gone wrong somewhere.
I can assure you though having 96 khz output will not make any difference to your sound its more likely that you have the other problem or static sound as you put it, that has not been fixed yet, this is what is likely to be degrading your sound not the digital output bit-rate. In fact in some cases setting it higher results in more static.
The static you get sounds like you have the the classic pops and crackles with the creative range of sound cards this has been going on for years, try reading the link I posted in my other post there are litterly thousands in the same boat as yourself.
