X-FI Xtreme Music with I/O Drive Upgrade Driv

Hello,
I just installed the I/O Dri've Upgrade and so far everything works after I installed the cd that came with the kit.
When I went to Creative Labs webpage and did an autoupdate to check the drivers, it told me that I have a X-FI Platinum instead of a X-FI Xtreme Music.
I just wanted to check with you as I know the X-FI Xtreme Music with the upgrade kit is basically a X-FI Platinum, however should I install drivers for the X-FI Platinum in the future?

Yeah that's what I did - they're basically exactly the same card, but one comes with the I/O dri've and the other doesn't.

With your Inspire 5. Digital 5700, your best bet is?using the analog Front and Rear input connections on the decoder and connect them to the X-Fi Xtreme Music front (Line Out )?and rear (Line?Out 2)?output connections and then enable CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Mode on your Digital 5700 decoder which will then give you a 4./5. Upmix. Gi'ven that you don't have a Center connection on the the Inspire 5. Digital 5700, no connection can made to the your Front Center satelite speaker/Subwoofer (Line Out 3) on your X-Fi Xtreme Music card. I'm led to understand that Creative speaker systems do not need Bass Redirection to reproduce proper Bass frequencies on your Subwoofer and not on your satelite speakers but you may want to test this simply enabling and disabling Bass Redirection, on your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card, to your own personal taste. Alternately, you can concurrently connect your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 via the Coxial Digital/PCM Input to the FlexiJack input/output jack on the X-Fi Xtreme Music and then enable Digital I/O mode for the FlexiJack in the Audio Console found in the Windows Control Panel or?in the Entertainment Mode or Game Mode Consoles. Unfortunately the FlexiJack only provides a 2 conductor connection therefore it only supports 2. Speaker system connections?therefore you will still have to enable the CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Modes on your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 decoder to produce a 4./5. sound upmix. Sadly, no optical connection can be made between your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 and your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card without the installation of the X-Fi I/O Dri've or X-Fi I/O Console at, of course, additional expense. From my standpoint, the X-Fi I/O Dri've is a good value given the number of external inputs and outputs in offers. Again, it's a matter of what your personal connection requirements are and budget. Xi-Fi Xtreme Music and Windows Vista 32 bit driv

I have a lot of problems with Vista driver. There is only one driver and it doesn't work correctly. Sometimes I have very bad noise, the sound skips, and it often has disturbance. Well to give Creative their due even if they took their time there are new drivers out for the X-Fi Xtreme Music and Vista and they work just fine. No the driver were actually removed from the server yesterday. They are back today with a new release date (5march), but are actually the same drivers? Go figure?

Xtreme Music with 1950 Pro agp8x

I have bought a new 950 sapphire Pro agpx 8x 52 mb along with my new Xtreme Music.
Whenever I install the soundblaster the 950 doesn't work correctly giving me the code 2.
When I remove the X-fi everythng works like a charm. I tried every possible combination at
BIOS and all of the 5 PCI's available. No joy. Whenever X-Fi is on a PCI the 950 doesn't
work correctly. It gives me the yellow exclamation at the first monitor but not at the secondary.
And of course the code 2 that the card can't find any resource to use and that I have to uninstall
something for the 950 to work. I removed almost everything else but this is not the case. Only when
I remove the X-fi the system works under the 950 Pro. It is very essential for me to work because
I use my PC for editing and now I can't. I am sure they will not take back the X-Fi at the store
because the package isn't complete anymore. I dwasn't expecting anything like this and this is the st
time I saw something like this. I hope you can help me somehow.

Question about connect X-Fi Xtreme Music with 5.1 Home Theater (analog inp

I want to connect my X-Fi to new speaker. (exact model : EACAN A200 5.)
but it has only 6 analog input ( center,sub,front l/r,rear l/r )
if i connect it with Creative Home Theater Cable

will it work perfectly? because i think this cable made for 7. speaker, will i miss sound that came from side l/r channels ?
If i can't use this cable, How can i connect X-fi to a new speaker?

since u are using 5. speaker, you only need to directly connect the cable from ur speaker to the sound card output, no need to use Creative Home Theater Cable.
and remember to set your sound card to 5. no matter u use what cable, since ur speaker is 5. only...if u play 7. content movie, the side L/R will directly map to the rear speaker, so no "miss sound" issue...understand?

Problems with drwin.exe after upgrading driv

After doing a online update for my audigy 4 drivers, i now get a message on shutdown saying drwin.exe has failed to inialtise and is unable to log off station. I then have a devil of time trying to get the pc to shutdown at all. Any ideas how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Just a email from support telling me do to a clean install, link below:http://ask.europe.creative.com/SRVS/...ve.com,case=72?also found a small hotfix for it. drwin.exe is the microsoft error reporting tool. this seems to be crashing as its trying to report an error with sound card drivers. i've managed to get it to stop crashing for the time being by doing the following:?open control panel, click on system and go to advanced tab. at bottom of this you will see a button that says error reporting, click on it. another wee box will come up, uncheck the one that says programs, (under the error reporting bullet button). not really a fix, more of a workaround. hope it hel

Windows vista 64 bits + xfi xtreme music + logitech g51 + SWAPS CHANN

Hello ! I am heber from argentina! bs as! federal discrict! Hey guys! you are soo cool! you help me a lot of times! but now i have to write to you becausa i dont get a solid solution to my problem. I search and see that there are some users with the same problem but i dont see a solid answer. The things that i do to try the fix the problem was clean and unninstall the drivers and soft with tools like driver sweeper etc and install the last driver but the result is the same. The only thing i found like a temporal solution when the problem happend its do the the assignement in the panel thx. I want to ask you if there is a solution, a permanent one...plz! becausa i am going to the thx panel like 30 times per day!!! i am going crazy! For more details i copy and edit a message from a user that have the same problem that i , read it plz : Ever since installing the latest drivers, 2.5. or whatever they are, I have sound and 5. support now using an X-Fi Xtreme music with Vista 64 bit (2GB), The card just randomly swaps channels on me. What I mean is, if I start from a fresh boot, I'll get all 5 speakers working in a 5. movie or video game or mp3. Shortly after though, it will swap all the sound to only the back channels and then only teh front channels, and sometimes only the center channel. Most of times it does in pairs , meaning that it wont be like front left and back right, always both back speakers and then both front speakers. Either way, it totally breaks the surround sound and it's rather annoying to hear the sound travel from front to back etc. Is there some way to fix this or anyone know the cause of this I'm about done with Creative and their crappy support for Vista. I might have to go back to on board 5. support if this keeps up. Well if you need something else! please let me know! and if you give me a hand i will be very happy ^^ . No subwoofer with X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to analog 5.1 inputs of HT amplifier

I have a X-Fi Xtreme Music connected to the analog 5.1 channel inputs of my Thomson home theater amplifier.
Everything works fine expect for the subwoofer. When I play stereo content using CMSS 3D or when I use Creative's built-in DD or DTS decoders there's no sound of of the subwoofer. All the other speakers work perfectly but the subwoofer doesn't respond at all.
But when I use PowerDVD to playback a DVD/BluRay which has a Dolby or DTS 5.1 soundtrack the subwoofer works like a charm. I guess that's because PowerDVD uses it's own DD/DTS decoder and not the X-Fi's one.
I also tried to use the bass redirection function in the THX console but that didn't make a difference either.
I also tried different drivers but non of them could fix this so far:
-latest official driver and console launcher available from Creative (couldn't try the bass redirection with this driver as it has no THX console)
-SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 2.0?by ?daniel_k
-SB X-Fi Series AuzenForte Pack .0 by daniel_k
Does anyone know that problem or maybe even know how to fix it's?
If it can't be fixed on the software side I thought about using a Y-cable and a low pass filter to input the X-Fi's center speaker signal into my amplifier's subwoofer input. The only problem with that would be that I would have to switch to the X-Fi's real subwoofer output and back when I play back a DVD or BluRay using PowerDVD as PowerDVD outputs the bass signal to the subwoofer output like it should be.
What do you think about that workaround?

Welcome to my dillema... i own the x-fi fatality and i'm on the virge of dumping it in favour of competition's cards. problem is that x-fi will NOT encode 5. over digital. Yes your receiver has 5. decoder but the card does NOT encode the sound. at best you'll get 2 channels. azuntech cards are capable of this I believe. what i am doing at the moment is use RCA cables and go over analog and let x-fi do the work as opposed to the receiver. 2x /8 stereo to 2 cable RCA, and /8 stereo to 3 cable RCA (camcorder type) cables. alternati'vely you can spend couple bucks and buy the adapter creative sells for connecting to home theater system. as far as what you can do to get x-fi to do 5. over digital... well there's not a hell of a lot you can do because the card doesn't support it... unless a creative staff can correct me and show me how to do this

I am using the Sigmatel Audio driver perfectly at the moment, Problem is I NEED a Midi in/out for recording for various VST plug-ins on my recording software, from the XFi card. Sorry if this is like beating a dead horse, but it is truely frustrating.

This response is not accurate and pretty poor troubleshooting if you ask me! Just because it fails in another Windows 7 machine doesn't point to the HDD. So I tested on 3 x Windows 7 machines and all fail to see my external HDD partition's
saying they are RAW yet Windows XP works fine and sees all my files?? Smells to me like a Windows 7 issue?

Hello, I have bought creative xtreme music sb0460 model, and its probably oem product. My msi 880 gma motherboard recognise device in windows 7 32 bit as pci device, tries to find update. But nothing. Actually I did many things, I've disabled my onboard sound device, tired manually to install. Tried many new updates from 2008 for this model from creative database, but nothing I just only get message "Setup is unable to detect a supported product in your system" when try launch a setup. I don't know why is that. I will give some numbers and maybe you will help me. Serial number MASB0467641R08326T; Tested to comply with fcc standrats for home or office use complies with Canadian ICES-003 class b

Download the newest drivers for the card and extract them using WinZip, 7-zip, or WinRAR. Then you can manually browse to the driver folder with the .inf file inside and install the driver that way. Done it many times myself and it works well.

What does my Xtreme Music X-fi tell me there are no supported products found when?i load it.

I am a long time iTunes user but a new MacBook owner! I keep the majority of my music files on an external hard drive. I'm trying to view all those files on my MacBook through iTunes. With windows you would go to : File/Add To Library, and iTunes would add all your selected files to your music library BUT WOULD NOT COPY THEM TO YOUR HARD DRIVE. In other words, if the external hard drive was connected, you could listen, drag/drop, and edit the files. When I tried the same thing with my new MacBook... it actually started coping the files to my MacBook harddrive. I don't want that, it's millions and millions of mp3's that I don't want to keep on my computer, only my external hard drive. Can anyone help? I'm sure it's something easy, I'm just so new to the Mac world. Being an iPhone owner for many many years I'm picking up things fast, but this is getting the best of me! Help !

I would like to share music with my Dad we both have ipod classics and i tunes installed, my library is backed up on hard drive helives abroad and we are visiting soon how do we share library content? Can I do it by plugging my hard drive into his pc?

System Preferences - Sharing. If you cannot find System Preferences, then use Command - Spacebar and type System Preference and when you see it in Spotlight (uper right) hit return.
