X-Fi Xtrememusic driv

I have just purchased a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music OEM Soundcard and as it did not come with any drivers could someone give me a link to some that I can download as most of the ones I have found are just web upgrades which just give me this error - http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/5486/untitledch0.jpg .Message Edited by wormsunited on 0-09-20072:25 PM

Thanks for the help.
I think I need to download the .iso file and burn it onto a cs and then run that :s
So far I have only found link to the x-fi iso which was on a BadBoyForums/Filefront account (which turned out to be corrupt so I couldn't use it) so if anyone give me a different link another .iso file I would appreciate it. :s
Why can't creative just put an installer on the website :/

  • X-Fi Xtrememusic Driver installation hangs

Hello to everyone who had the intrest in taking a look at my thread,
Four years have passed now since the day I left my last replay on Creative Support forums, back then I was interested in acquiring a sound card that would support EAX HD (v4.0). I did acquire a crad with EAX 4.0, a Creative Xtreme Music (bought it about a year ago) to be precise.
Setting the card into my pc and installing the official 2.8.003 driver package, worked out great for a year of time.
Two days ago I turned my PC on and to my supprise, the only available working device in my Volume Mixer was the "S/PDIF Out (Creative SB X-Fi)".
I set windows into restore mode and restored my pc to the state it was two days earlier. That didn't help. I removed all creative entries from "Uninstall software" (In control panel). I rebooted the system ran Driver Sweeper, cleaned the registry from any creative entries, with each step of the way a reboot was performed. No entries of Creative where left in the system.
When all entries have been removed out of the system (I followed every possible guide on the net about removing Creative stuff from the system), an extra reboot was done after which I went into control panel, device manager. I found my Creative X-Fi under "Other Devices" under the name of "Multimedia Audio Controller". I updated the driver with the official 2.8.003 that I have kept on my dri've from the first time I installed the drivers a year ago.
Windows would find the appropriate driver, but would be unable to install my device due to "Invalid Data".
Googled that, only to find that non of the proposed working solutions (which are about the same, uninstall, remove, delete, clean install daniel_k drivers) would work out for me.
I got pissed, I set a whole day backing up my data from the main dri've and did a format to it. I freshly installed Windows 7 Ulti 64Bit. I tried installing the card from the official CD, which at a certain point would just freeze the whole system.
I rebooted and restored Windows, tried to install the drivers from the CD once more, with no success, the system would hang again when trying to install the drivers for my card, reboot, restore and into safe mode. In safe mode, I went directly into device manager, updated my drivers for my card (J:\Audio\Drivers\) the system found the X-Fi driver, it installed it and then I rebooted into normal mode.
The speaker no longer had the red cross icon on it, but no sound was coming out of my headphones. I unplugged them and replugged them, at no help, I clicked on the Volume mixer.... I had only "S/PDIF Out".
What is going on with my card, what went wrong with the card
    Thanks for the help
    P.S.
In my current system I have two hard dri'ves(each split into multiple partitions, I run win 7 on my ST000 and my Win XP on my ST60), after I lost my sound the first time, I booted into my 60 dri've, I ran Winamp and pressed on play. For some reason the sound played for a second or two and then faded away (died), I tried playing anything else after, but there was no sound at all, I rebooted into XP again, this time the system had no sound at all.
Has my XtremeMusic card just died two days ago

?It has been a day that my thread has been hanging in the air and still, not a single replay has been posted.
One would think that four years would be enough for a company to realize that it is time to wake up, sadly reality shows otherwise.
I have fixed my issue, anyone interested in knowing what I did to fix my problem, private me. I am not going to post it here, the people that know something about tech should of already figured this one out. I let them do their job.
    P.S.
This thread, in particularly, must be considered as a Sticky. The solution to my problem, has not been yet resolved be other folks that had the same exact problem, as the cause to the problem is something that DOES NOT exist in Creative's knowledge data base and in the forums.

  • Where can I download the FULL driver for my XtremeMusic? (eg. more than just the audio consol

I just bought an OEM XtremeMusic and I downloaded the latest (from 2006) driver from the Creative Lab's website but all it installed was an audio console and the driver itself. I can change most of the settings I need inside the audio console, but isn't there an equalizer I can adjust and more settings? The screenshots of the XtremeMusic software from the website is definitely not the same as the audio console I have. Also, isn't there a CMSS-3D test somewhere? I can't find any of this. Did I miss something on the website that I could download?

  • X-Fi I/O Drive and XtremeMusic

Hi, I have recently bought the X-Fi I/O Dri've to my X-Fi XtremeMusic for decoding the optical sign of my PS3 (Dolby Digital and DTS). I have seen that the soundcard has a 4 pin power conector and the I/O Dri've too. The problem is that if I connect the 4 pin connector of my power supply in the sound card the I/O dri've hasn't power on (I see the optical output in the I/O dri've off) but if I connect this 4 pin connector to the I/O dri've the optical output emit a red light, although the sound of the PS3 not sound for my speakers. What might the problem be? Should two plug be connected?
    Thanks
Sorry for my English but I am Spanish

sad it seems u have been conned or mislead, depends how u wanna see it, xfi doesnt allow u to decode DD or DTS via spdif inputs, the are able to but they driver lock it , so no luck dude, this problem have been posted fors a few years back and no avail, they force u to buy thier dts-00 decoder thingy, if u want decoding for ur analog speakers, i have given up looking for solution , got myself a yamaha receiver and home theatre to set up my ps3 and pc, dont wait for creative, the help is not coming

  • X-Fi XtremeMusic: Linux beta driver crashes on kernel 2.6

First i uninstalled the X-Fi drivers, then i updated my kernel to version 2.6.26 and did a new install of X-Fi drivers. Installation was successful, but while booting i get some oops messages. Is it possible for me to fix this?
And how long i have to wait for the next driver release? Audio recordings sounds a bit tinny and i'm missing a ruler to control the capture valume. Without that it is not very useful to make recordings. Last driver release was on 6.4.2008 and the X-Fi is on market since 2005. Is Creative sleeping?
    Now the Oops message:

  • X-Fi XtremeMusic - Floppy drive connect

    Hello
An easy question - I have the XtremeMusic card, and have noticed a floppy dri've power connector on the board. Do I need to connect a floppy dri've power cable to the card? The manual for installation does not mention this.
    Thanks

    Floppy dri've connector?
There is an accessory connector and audio I/O jacks. The X-Fi Extreme documentation is silent with regards to the accessory connector. However, if you search this group, you will find out that it is similar to the Audigy, which is available. For whatever reason, CL does not publish the pin-outs for the X-Fi Extreme (pitty).

  • Driver for Windows 2000 ? -- X-Fi XtremeMusic

The X-Fi?XtremeMusic requires at least Windows XP to work.

  • SB Live! I/O Drive on X-FI Xtrememusi

Hi,Im having this old SB Li've 5. Platinum card and I'm plannging to uppgrade the soundcard to Xtrememusic X-Fi.. I am realy in need of this I/O Dri've forom my old card. So I wonder if I can use my OLD I/O Dri've with a new X-Fi card? I can earn money here so what do you know about this? I think that the connectors on the picture look the same way on old and new soundcards. Only different I se is that IR-interface on X-Fi Platinum I/O Dri've.What dou you think about it'sJonas

I believe only the A2 bays and up are compatible with the x-fi, bay wise. Its risky but can always check ebay to see if someones selling off an a2 bay if money is tight. They do sell the Bay in the CL store but by itself its I believe $79 so you might get off cheaper by holding out and getting the Platinum version.

  • X-FI XtremeMusic with I/O Drive Upgrade

I purchased the X-FI Xtrememusic card and I'm very pleased with it so far, however I'm interested in upgrading the card with the I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit so I can have a separate headphone connection and a Toslink input for my Xbox 360.
Apparently these upgrade kits appear to be sold out in Europe and are only available in the United States. Have these been totally discontinued and are no longer being offered for sale by Creative Labs?
I would like Creative Labs help in sourcing one of these so I may purchase it as the only place that I see it available is in the United States and I li've in Spain. I would have posted in the Spanish forums but there is no option for English as my Spanish is very mediocre.
    Mfg. Part #: 30SB02500000
    Vendor SKU: 30SB02500000
    UPC Code: 0546526480

Thanks for the warning Chillpill46, however I have been able to work through the problems that I have had so far and I'm tired of having splitters to split both my Xbox 360 and headphones.
I ended up importing a dri've upgrade kit from Singapore at it seems that this is the only place left in the world who has them in stock.
Does anyone know if the front panel will auto detect headphones being plugged into it's I guess this is to much to ask considering all of the other problems but would be a novel idea instead of having to manually change from speakers to headphones every time I want to use them.

  • Driver Problems X-Fi XtremeMusic! HELP (only in German!

    Sch?nen guten tag!
    ha20x2k.sys - adress A5DC593 base at A5CBF000, Datestemp 44e3df

I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2., but even in Creative Audio Console?it only records Left Channel when I have it set to Line In input. I can set it'sto "What you Hear"?and it records stereo, but it records the metronome and other tracks also. I'm using ASIO driver mode. I'm going from my keyboard (Line Out?jack)?straight into the sound card with a regular instrument cable, with a /8" adaptor into the sound card. Maybe this is the problem? What kind of cable do I need for stereo? I also tried going from my bass directly to the soundcard, but I have the same problem.
    Thanks

Hi, I?m thinking of upgrading my audigy2zs to an X-Fi. But I wanted to use the dri've bay thing that I bought for the audigy2. I use it to plug my Logitech z680 speakers with an optical cable for dolby digital. So, do you know if this two things are compatible? Thx, and cheers!

Better to uninstall existing drivers first, then install the beta's as this?should avoid any conflicts.

  • X-fi Xtrememusic doesn't have the bottoms of DD and DTS in the audio console

    Hellow every body!....
I have a little problem with the Creative X-fi Xtrememusic OEM that I bought...:
) The issue is that when the card is instaled withthe drivers, I notice that the windows detect the sound card as a X-fi audio, and not with the name of x-fi xtreme music.... this is normal? all the x-fi are detected as a x-fi audio?... Because this card that I have, is the xtrememusic sure.... because the audio is blue and its diferent like the sound card that I have...
    2) Thats is the light problem.... Now the heavy xD: After installed the sound card I notice that in the audio console there is NO bottoms of the options "DD and DTS"... this sections are missing...
I try to uninstall the cd drivers... download the last drivers of this page... and when the last drivers are installed... there is no audio console and nothing.... only the driver and a old audio console... (not the with moder audio console that shows up in the current x-fi)
    - Know I format my PC and I installed all again.... and the same problems shows up...
I have the windows xp ue v7....
Any how can help me? I don't know what to do... I try anything and nothing works...

when did you purchase this xtrememusic? if I don't remember wrongly.... the newer refresh doesn't have dd and dts decoding anymore and have to use the included powerdvd to do it. only the older refresh of xtrememusic include dd/dts decoding via creative driver. furthermore yours is an oem version....it may also have different function/feature. you can try searching the CD and see if there is any folder by the name of "PDVD" or something?with?"dvd",?can't?really?remember?the?ex act?name... if?the?CD?you?have?have?this?folder,?then?you?won' t?have?the?ddd/dts?function?in?the?audio?console.

  • X-fi XtremeMusic makes ugly noise first, then turn off

Hey, I bought a XtremeMusic just some days ago and tried to install it. First question I had, was, if the card needs an extra current entry because in the manual is written, that I only need it for a E/A console, which I don't got.
So I just connected the PCI Slot and started the PC. I didn't have to deactivate the Onboardsound because I got another Soundcard before. So I just installed the drivers. (I got to say here, that I connected the card analog with my z5500 5. system)
First, anything I got was high peep tone - then I heard nothing. So I looked through the settings - everything was okay here. I visited the official homepage and loaded the newest drivers. After some reboots the card actually worked - for a day.
Today I wanted to test the headphonefunction of the card. I switched the card to headphones and put it in the green box. What I got was a feep-tone again. So I tested the headset with my mp3-player and it worked. So it's the soundcard again, making ugly noises.
But when I wanted to get the sound back to 5. - the tone remains. After a short time, the sound disappered fully. The strange thing is, that I can't really play music. When I play a song in Foobar, it can't start. Same in Youtube, it stocks after 3 seconds. Just the WMP plays songs - without sound.
I don't know what to do know because all the links in the stickies don't work. Please give me an advice howto clean all drivers to install them again. (And of course give me further information - If you know the problem)?

I may have misunderstood what you meant, but when I reinstall again over top of the existing drivers, the add new hardware wizard never even pops up. I only get that when I do a fresh install.. And in that case I ordinarily do select cancel..
Also, it turns out that I get these same errors when installing almost any Creative application or driver..Message Edited by PONCHO2 on 08-24-2008 03:06 PM
