X format to XML conversion

Hello;
Any body knows how to develope a Java Application from any format into XML what the Java XML API need to be used.
Consider for example LDIF to XML

don't build the XML tags directly because it forces you to deal with many things like encoding, etc...
just directly build a DOM object, thinking in term of father and child nodes, nodes' names and node's value.
then, when finished, serialize this DOM in an XML file or String or whatever stream you like.

When you call DBMS_XMLQUERY.SETDATEFORMAT, you must supply the mask using the syntax defined by java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
You need to use "yyyy-MM-dd".
In your case, "yyyy-mm-dd", the lower case "mm" is the mask for minutes.

ResultSet XML Conversion Error

BPEL, SOA 11g, DB2 Stored procedure,
In a BPEL service I am getting this error while invoking a DB2 Stored procedure with Strong XSD. I am using assign to copy the input parameter to the input parameters of Stored procedure.
not able to figure out why this error message is coming.

The JDBC sender adapter returns the rows selected from the database in the follwoing format.

This error occurs , when the source datatype you have created for the JDBC adapter does not match with this format. I would suggest that you check the source format along with the occurence of your field.

IBR: Setting up DOC to XML Conversion

Hello,
I need to enable automatic conversion of DOC,DOCX documents to XML format.
I've set up IBR enabling XML Converter component then restarted IBR server. I've configured an outgoing provider from UCM to IBR and the connection is good.
When I check-in a DOC (or DOCX) file it says "GeneratingWWW" but the web viewable format generated still remains a .doc (or .docx) document.
Am I missing something??Maybe there is some additional configuration parameter to set in UCM??

I've figured out what's missing so I've solved the problem.
I (stupidly) simply forgot to enable XML conversion on "Primary Web-Viewable Rendition" tab.

Implementation decision about EDIFACT to XML conversion

Hi
My company wants to convert invoices received in EDIFACT D93A format into a native xml format. Until now i have used content conversion with for other vendors, but now a vendor uses EDIFACT D93A format. the content conversion can be tedious and complex to debug.
Our XI is on NW2004s SP 10
How can i check if conversion agent is already present on my XI ? Is not is Installing it is the work of Basis consultant or XI consultant?
How technically hard is the whole installation Process?
I would like suggestions and recommendations how to implement this,
The options i found out until now are ( in order of simplicity)
1. Integrating Stylus studio , and calling it from adapter module parameters tab in CC .
2. Using Conversion agent by Itemfield and calling it in module parameters tab in CC
3. Using Seeburger EDI adapter
4. Using content conversion in file adapter.
Considering cost and Technical implementation difficulties what is the best approach and are there any other approaches?

Oracle9i Forms and XML-conversion

Hi,
in Duncan's White Paper "Oracle9i Forms in a Java World" you can find the following passage:
"These conversion tools make it possible to perform operations on Forms files that were impossible before. For example, you cannot diff and merge Forms binary
source files themselves. However, you can use the tools to convert two FormsModule files to XML, diff and merge them, validate the result, and covert it back to a Forms .FMB."
I must admit, my knowledge about Forms6i is quite limited, but I'm aware of the possibility to convert *.FMB (binary format) to *.FMT (text format) and vice versa. So I thought, this would have been possible before.
I'm not sure about that, so any clarification on this would be very nice.
What are the benefits of the XML-representation? I guess it't more readable because XML can better reflect the structure of a module than a flat textfile. Are there other reasons to use XML? Can someone give me real world applications (besides the mentioned diff/merge and documention purposes)?

Eric - we never supported you editing the FMT in any way and also, not all the information in the FMT was in text format.
XML gives you a structured text representation, meaning, as a text file you can easily make changes/diff/merge etc etc and so long as it still is in the correct structure it will convert back to FMB. You couldn't do this with FMT.

XML parser not able to find encoding format of xml file with jre1.4.2

Hi
I am using jre1.4.2_05 and Weblogic 8.1 version and i have a problem with finding encoding format of xml file.
I need to parse a xml file and need to find which encoding format that xml is based on that i need to change logic.
Need to know after parsing each xml file what encoding format the xml is? Here the problem is we are using jre1.4.2_05 by default DOM \ SAX parser is not supported and i looked at few third party parser which are also don't have facility.
But in latest jre 1.5 or jdk1.5 has this feature. Its difficult to the project to upgrade to jre1.5 or more.
Please let me know if you have any idea about the issue.

Issue in Excel to XML Conversion

Classpath dependency validator message.
Classpath entry will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.

Date format in xml file

Hi,
I am relatively new to XML and JSP.I am on a project where i have to transfer data to and from an Oracle 8i database to XML using JSP.everything worked fine except for the follwing:
the date format in xml is always 'yyyy-mm-dd HH:MM:SS'.
the datatype is date in oracle and string in jsp.when i try to upload the data in XML to oracle it gives me date format not recognised error.I ve tried using trunc and to_char in the query which fetches records into a recordset in JSP but to no avail.i keep getting the same format.
Can someone please help with with having the date format as 'dd-mon-yyyy'.

Caught unaware of 2 queries.
1.I have added the com.sap.aii.utilxi.core.io.IOUtil jar files from the PI server even though its displays error "The com.sap.aii.utilxi can not be resolved". Also I added the XPI libraries in NWDS but nothing moving to solve the issue.
2. I have commented the line of code where I have placed a test file in the path to test it i.e. JSON.text. But when it is deployed as Archived files, then this code has to be replaced.
The Method toString(InputStream) in the type IOUtils is not applicable for the arguments (String)

1.I have added the com.sap.aii.utilxi.core.io.IOUtil jar files from the PI server even though its displays error "The com.sap.aii.utilxi can not be resolved". Also I added the XPI libraries in NWDS but nothing moving to solve the issue.
Which jar file did you add?
/usr/sap/<<SID>>/DVEBMGS<<SYSNO>>/j2ee/cluster/bin/ext/com.sap.xi.util.misc/lib

2. I have commented the line of code where I have placed a test file in the path to test it i.e. JSON.text. But when it is deployed as Archived files, then this code has to be replaced.
The Method toString(InputStream) in the type IOUtils is not applicable for the arguments (String)
To read the input stream you should have
InputStream inputstream = transformationInput.getInputPayload().getInputStream();

Mapping error in FCC to XML conversion

im donig a simple fcc to xml conversion
my Sender msg type is like
TXT_mt

My receiver msg type like
Xml_mt

msg mapping like

I am creating a custom java module in sap nwds 7.3 for Excel to XML Conversion. But I am getting following error
Classpath dependency validator message.
Classpath entry will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.
I imported the Jars from a different PI system and i am using NWDS in local PC with creating a separate folder with all JARs and also imported them using build path option.
This issue is occuring for all the jars imported.
