"X. is calling" as ringtone when listening to your music?

Is it possible to personalize the ring tones? I want to record my voice saying "Annette", "Steve", "Mom", etc.... and add these audio files to iTunes, so that when one of these people call me while listening to my music and driving I don't have to reach to my pocket to see who's calling. All I'll hear is a voice announcing who's calling?
can i do that with my phone?

  • IPhone 6, problems with volume, automatically goes to the max when listening to the music

iPhone 6 iOS 8.1, sometimes when I'm trying to increase volume by 1 bar, it goes to the max and there is no way to decrease it without reboot. Had same problem before updating to iOS 8.1... I've never had that problem with my 5S, which is also on iOS 8.1. I'm using Beats Mixr headphones with remote. I've tried to restore the phone, didn't helped.
Yesterday I was listening to the music on iPhone 6 for about 4 hours and this happened 5 times, today I listened music from iPhone 5S for almost 5 hours and it didn't happended even once... I was using the same headphones... Any ideas?
    THanks in advance

My phone is not on mute, the volume is up to the max, there are no blue tooth connections, the phone will not ring only vibrate with the ringer on.  I cannot hear any music through the phone either.

  • Is there a way that you can keep the same checked songs when transefering all your music to a different computer?

ive just got a new computer and installed ITunes. ive brought all my music across from the old computer but when ive added it to I tunes it has checked all the songs. is there a way you can uncheck all the songs you don't want (same as previous computer) or do you have to go through and manually uncheck all the songs you don't want on the I pod??

When you copied the music from your old computer you should have included the iTunes database (iTunes Library.itl) as well as your media files - this is the structure (normally in C:\Users\username\Music) that you should copy from old to new:
If you only copied the media, and not the database file, try doing so now (without iTunes running) - the files and folder structures should be the same on your new PC as on your old one.
Then hold down SHIFT while starting iTunes; you'll get this prompt:
Click on Choose Library..., then browse to and select the iTunes Library.itl file that you just copied.  Your library should now be in the state that it was on your old machine, including checked selections.
By the way, using checkboxes against individual songs is a really inefficient way to manage how content is synced to an iDevice.  Its much easier to create a playlist that you can move songs/albums in and out of, and configure your iDevice to sync media from this playlist.

  • My new iPad speaker crackles when listening to some music or games. Is my speaker dying out on me? Can this be fixed?

When I listen to loud or deep bass music, my new iPad speaker crackles. Is this a common problem with iPads? Can this be fixed? How much is it? My warranty is expired.

    LambChops1,
I’m using Mavericks, and it’s still possible to select text to drag and for cutting and pasting. Left-clicking and right-clicking is still possible, too.
Try opening the Trackpad pane of System Preferences, and select the Point & Click tab. To right-click, ensure that your “Secondary click” checkbox has been checked; the small print under “Secondary click” is a dropdown menu which allows you to select the form of right-clicking that you prefer. (For instance, mine is set to “Click in bottom right corner”.) For left-clicking, is your “Tap to click” checkbox checked, or unchecked? (Mine is unchecked, since I prefer pushing for left-clicking over tapping to do so.)

  • When all of your music is stored on an external hard drive...

Hi - first time poster, so be gentle.
I recently purchased a new laptop (HP Pavilion DV6736) w/Windows Vista. I installed iTunes and am now trying to get my Music Library to point to my music, which is housed (all of it) on an external hard drive. I have read several articles (305451, for example), which have not helped. I have also read other discussion threads, to no avail. So far I've tried "Moving your iTunes music folder" (above-referenced article 305451) and then changing the iTunes Music folder location (Edit > Preferences > Advanced > "Change") to point to my new external HD. This did nothing. Basically, I have iTunes installed, and I have over 40gb of music on an external drive, and I can't get the two to talk to one another.
    *sigh*
    Can anyone help?

Article 305451 applies when you already have songs in your Library and want to move them. Changing the location of the iTune Music folder in your Preferences only affects songs you purchase or import from a CD from the time of the change forward, not songs that have already been imported (like those on your external drive).
Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base and let us know if it brings you any combination of joy and/or satisfaction.

  • Why am I forced to be connected to internet in order to listen to purchased music with iTunes on iPad? I have wifi only iPad.

I tried listening to my music with my wi-fi only ipad on iTunes while driving my car. iTunes said I needed to be connected to the Internet in order to find the iTunes store. I don't want the iTunes store, I just want to listen to my music on iPad. Can I bypass the need to be connected and just get to the music? If not..... WHY NOT????

You don't need the internet to listen to your music. You're probably trying to access the iTunes store app, you need to go to the iPod app, and that is where your music will be if you have synced it over from your computer or purchased it directly.

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

  • How do you get a certain ringtone when someone is calling you?

I wanted to know how to get a certain ringtone when someone calls me, not the Verizon music that is on there now

    Please explain.
You want the person who calls you to hear the ringtone?  Ask Verizon if they offer this.
You want to hear the ringtone?  You can create your own ringtones.  Google will find many way to do this. You can also buy them from the ringtones section of the itunes store on your iphone.

  • When iPhone is Locked I do not get a ringtone when getting an incoming call

I am a Newbie here so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have tried to search, but cannot find a solution, or at least 1 I can understand. Alright got my first iPhone Friday. I have my phone set to Autolock at 5 min. With this configuration when the phone has entered it's locked state I do not hear a ringtone when I am getting an incoming call. My phone does vibrate, but I want to be able to hear a ringtone. The button on the side is not in SILENT MODE... So I am not sure how to be able to hear a ringtone... if it's even possible. You help is greatly appreciated.

I've seen dumber questions... No worries and no flames from me.
    Enjoy your iPhone!

  • Does the sound of your caller get reduced when you speak at the same time?

    Hi everyone,
I'm noticing some strange behaviour of my iPhone 3G's audio on the O2 network here in the UK. Both O2 & the iPhone are new to me so I don't know which is the cause, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this 'problem'? What happens is this:
When I'm on a call with my ear to the iPhone's earpiece (or using headphones) & I speak whilst the caller is speaking (or let's say I'm chatting to my wife in the same room as me whilst I'm listening to 'hold music'), I've noticed that *the volume & call-quality of the incoming line is often reduced*.
Initally this might not seem a problem, BUT, there have definitely been a view times when I've been in a noisy environment (such as street traffic, or my kids shouting & playing in the background) where I've missed things that the caller told me. In both these situations, I've noticed that the caller's voice has got quieter, sounded 'grainy' or even sometimes gone totally quiet until the sound from me (or my environment) has stopped. The 'problem' seems to right itself a minute or so of the call, but that's little consolation to the first 60 seconds of the call!
It's most noticeable on headphones by the way; As a test, I plugged in regular headphones to my iPhone (i.e. not the iPhone IEMs with the mic), called a landline phone-line with a pre-recorded message, then spoke into the iPhone's built-in microphone. Every time I did this, the incoming audio signal was 'turned down' &/or sounded gritty, then returns to normal when I (or my background noise) went quiet.
I don't think this is a fault with my phone. but more either an iPhone 3G hardware 'characteristic', v2 software bug, or network issue. (O2 said they've never heard of this before of course...)
If anyone else has the time to try this out please, I'd appreciate it
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Quickdraw,
    Thanks for your reply.
I don't know this for sure, but I think it has EVERYTHING to do with bandwidth.
Yes, that makes a lot of sense... I was making calls on 2G/Edge at the time of my 'tests' rather than 3G, partly due to battery-saving but also that 2G still has much better coverage over here (just as you guys in the States seem to be experiencing).
I've done some more tryouts today, & noticed that if the 2G signal is really strong, OR if I switch to 3G & have a reasonable-to-good reception, the 'incoming-signal-dropping-out-when-I-talk' doesn't happen much at all...
So, the bandwidth thing does make sense, but it's interesting/annoying that it manifests itself as "one good-quality voice OR the other", rather than "full-duplex-but-not-so-great-for-both-voices" sound...
If anyone in the UK can feed back their experience with O2, I'd appreciate it please. (I never had this issue in the 10 years I was with Orange..)
    Cheers,
    Jason

  • I have the same problem in my iphone. i can receive call and talk and listen too otherwise no sound at all like ringer tone , on-off click soung , video-music soung , game sound.

i have the same problem in my iphone. i can receive call and talk and listen too otherwise no sound at all like ringer tone , on-off click soung , video-music song , game sound.
i have tried to clean the audio jack too but result is the same. Can any body help me please.

No external sound or not sound at all - external or when using the earbuds?
Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off and on, Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so, Restore.
i had it once before, restored the iPhone and it was solved, but i don't want to restore my iPhone every day.
Does this happen every day? If not, when was the last time this happened?
If you have sound when using the earbuds, another thing to try is insert the earbuds and start playing a song - making sure the sound can be heard with the earbuds. Without pausing the song, remove the earbuds.
If no sound is available with the speaker and a the troubleshooting steps do not resolve it or one of the steps does resolve it but the same occurs again, time to give AppleCare a call (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
