X-y chart scale problem

I am using an x-y chart and I allow the user to select auto. scale
and default scale as appropriate using the property node.
Sometimes, when the scale is changed, one of the scale
is overlap, one of the scale is constant. This problem is not
always repeatable but occurs at window vista regularly and I
have recently discovered it in a LV built exe also (when the exe
is restarted it's OK). I am using LV8.5.
Has anyone got a fix for this?
Thanks

Hello htma,
    Is it possible you can upload a simple example code for this problem?
    It would be better if we can have the source code at hand to solve this problem.
    Thanks for your kindly help.

  • Oracle bi publisher PDF output changes chart scale

    I have created report which has charts - bar charts
    I able to run report in various formats including interactive, html, excel, powerpoint, pdf etc.
    Now the chart scale on all other format reports showing perfect e.g. 3.0 height on y axis. So its basically adjusting as the max height (value) for y axis. But for PDF output no matter weather it has less than 3.0 for all values in that page, but it shows height 4.0 (instead of 3.0 max as other output formats are showing). So its not adjusting dynamically as other output formats.
    How can I get PDF document display same as other output formats? Because if all values less than 0.5 height, still PDF output showing height as 4.0 , so graph is not visible or almost touching to the ground with straight line.
    Please help and appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    Has there been any update on this? I am running into the same problem, only it is only affecting one of my charts. The maximum keeps on dynamically setting to 4.0, though I have also seen it set its maximum to 5 and minimum to -5 given certain parameters.
    I have three other charts on the same report: one with a dynamic maximum that sets correctly, and two that have a static maximum. The problem is only when I view it as a PDF.

    Hi Vedant,
    values are displayed in pie chart their label is not display.
    So you're able to view the value and label information when you hover over a slice i.e. viewing the tooltip, but you can't see the actual label for each slice of the pie. If you're not seeing all of the labels for the slices of the Pie chart, then this could due to a couple of reasons:
    1) the length of the label
    2) the position of the label
    3) the size of the chart
    Keep in mind that displaying all 41 labels on the chart could result in an extremely cluttered looking chart. AnyChart controls the visibility of the labels, depending on the above factors. So if your labels are quite lengthy, for example, and they are positioned to be displayed outside the chart, then AnyChart will display what labels it can for the given chart size. To work around this, having tooltips enabled is a good starting point. Alternatively, you could look at decreasing the length of the label text, changing the label position or even increasing the size of the chart. For further information on the label formatting, I would recommend reviewing AnyChart's online documentation, here: http://anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/label-text-formatting.html?fromtree.

  • Bubble chart legend problem

    Hello.
    I have problem with bubble chart the problem is that in chart legend appear the same number of object what bubble in chart e.g. if chart have 5 bubble then legend also have 5 object.
    What do I want to obtain is that in chart appear bubble which have different color (color depends on condition) and legend relate only colors. For example if chart have 4 bubble 3 - red and 1 - green then in legend appear only two position which relate green and red color (now appear 4 object three about red and one green).
    Can any one tell me how to resolve this problem?

    I already did this I added three condition (three colors red, green and yellow) in field "Value of" I choosed "is equal to" unfortunately it didn't help.
    Maybe I joust try to describe what I want to show in this chart.
    Suppose I have table with four columns u201Cdateu201D, u201Camount (number type)u201D, u201Csize (number type)u201D, u201Crisku201D (text type) now where this value appear on chart:
    - date is x axis
    - amount is y axis
    - size is a bubble size
    - risk will be bubble color
    Now I have 3 kind of risk u201CLowu201D (green color), u201CMediumu201D (yellow color) and u201CHighu201D (red color).
    Now in my data base I have table with record:
    - u201C11-11-2009u201D, u201C1u201D, u201C2u201D, u201CMediumu201D
    - u201C12-11-2009u201D, u201C2u201D, u201C1u201D, u201CMediumu201D
    - u201C13-11-2009u201D, u201C1u201D, u201C1u201D, u201CHighu201D
    - u201C14-11-2009u201D, u201C3u201D, u201C3u201D, u201CLowu201D
    - u201C15-11-2009u201D, u201C1u201D, u201C1u201D, u201CLowu201D
    Ok so now In My chart I should have 5 bubble and in legend three value (green, red, yellow) but in this case I always have five (the same number what record in table).
    Sorry if this example is not clear.

  • Earth Zoom scale problem

    Hi there,
    My first post on a Apple forum...quite a momentous occasion.
    Basically I want to do a simple zoom in from an earth view into a city in Motion. I've researched it online and there is one tutorial which everyone points too:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkvURxnIKsw
    I followed the tutorial using around 15 images from Google. All good. The problem happened when I came to keyframe the zoom in. I need to zoom in around 4000000 percent to get to my city from my widest shot. So on playback the zoom starts absurdly fast and ends absurdly slow, even with adjusting the keyframe interpolation. I use exactly the same method as the tutorial but the difference is, he is only zooming in from a wide view of a city to a building and so only needing around 3000 percent. Much easier to handle.
    After Effects tutorials get around the huge scale problem by 'parenting' the layers to the closest image (ie:the city) but i can't seem to find a way similar in Motion.
    Any help much appreciated

    The corollary in Motion to parenting in After Effects (in this tutorial) is grouping. The way they use grouping in that tutorial, you should be able to get the results you're looking for.
    Personally, I don't think you need so many groups. I put two layers into one group (GROUP 1), and scaled the first layer down. Then I added a 2nd group (GROUP 2) below the first group with my next largest pic. Instead of scaling down the 2nd layer to match the 3rd, I scaled GROUP 1 to match the 3rd layer. Once they matched, I dropped the 3rd layer into GROUP 1 and added a 4th layer to GROUP 2. Repeat as necessary.
    When you're finished you'll have all the layers into a single group which should be at a small scale. Then animate your group.
    The real problem is that you don't have an exponential scaling of your group. To solve that problem, animate your scale with the exponential behavior. Make sure that your group is at its farthest point. Right-click the scale and choose Exponential. Go to the end of the behavior. In the behaviors tab, adjust the End value until you're zoomed in to your nearest point. Open the Keyframe Editor (CMD+8) to view your exponential curve. Adjust the End Offset value on the behavior to shorten the animation to the length you want.
    You can also get exponential scaling with the Grow/Shrink Behavior. It's the same basic idea. Add it to your group and adjust the scale. Make sure that the increment is set to Natural Scale. You might even get better results from that.

  • Chart scale error

    I am coding a logging system in labview 7.1
    On the front panel I have several charts. If I try to change the x-scale by typing new end of scale value while running - labview crashes (LV7.1 has encountered an error, please tell Microsoft...)
    If I change the x-scale when the program is not running - labview sometimes crashes.
    The graphs are indicators OWGraph, Wave Height, Temperatures, Flow and in the lower loop, pressure difference.
    The data comes from on demand aquiring from a pci6120 card which runs in one loop - the displaying is handled in another loop (on top in posted code image) except from one chart which needs quicker updates.

    I found the sinner, it cant handle the offset. I use an offset of the number of seconds since 1904... to display the current time on the x-axis. If I plot two or more plots in the chart and use property node-> x-axis.offset it crashes every time I try to manually change the x-axis. I used most of the day figuring this out and the rest of the day to find a workaround. Since I dont use the date - I ended up calculating the smallest number of seconds to put into offset so that the time got right. Because if you wire a constant (any size) into the property node it is no problem - if you wire a time stamp converted to double - it crashes. When I use a probe on the value, it displays it in scientific mode (3,2 e+9) I wouldnt think this is any different than a constant written 3200000000 - but it is the only explanation I have right now - and I am not using one more second to find out - cause my workaround works...
    In the code attached - the timestamp is input to a chart with a single plot, that however causes no problems...

  • Weird chart shifting problem?

    I'm having a problem that's easy to reproduce. Create a pie chart on a blank slide (the default data will work fine). In the inspector move the Labels so they are outside of the pie chart -- around the perimeter. Now set the chart so the build is by slice from first to last (any build in effect will do -- appear is fastest).
    Play through the builds.
    You'll notice that when it gets to the pie slices on the left side the entire pie shifts positions. How dramatic this is depends somewhat on the build in effect (try it with the scale effect) and the exact position of the data labels, but it should be easy to notice and reproduce.
    How can I get it to stop doing this? I've been working with a set of data for a presentation that happens once per year for a number of years now. Older versions of Keynote did not do this. The problem started at, I think, Keynote '08, and has continued in Keynote '09.
    One workaround is to move the data points back into the slices, but for the data I am presenting several of the slices are too small for this to be practical. So I need a real solution.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    David

    Nothing? Really? Nobody has any ideas? Did anyone even try it? Can anyone at least verify whether or not you can reproduce the problem?
    Thanks

  • Chart axis problem

    I am writing data to a simple x-y chart where x values are cycle numbers (1,2,3,4....etc)
    and y values are times in seconds. The total number of cycles sent to the
    chart can be 100,000+, but I only need the last one hundred. I have therefore
    set the history length attribute to 100 so I effectively display a window
    of the last 100 cycles. Now, my problem is that I would like the y-axis (time)
    to have a range of 0 to the current maximum displayed. I have auto-scaling
    set, so the range is just the min and max of what is being displayed. How
    can I fix the lower value of the y-axis range to zero whilst having the upper
    value auto-scale? I'm using LabVIEW 5.1 on Windows 98.

    Yes, I know how nice LabVIEW 6i is, but we haven't upgraded yet. Anyway, thanks
    for your help, I'll give it a try.

  • Dynamic chart scale

    Hi!
    I'm working on a Line chart in Desktop Publisher, with this data:
    <LocalGridData colCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW, 'saw_2'))}" rowCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW, 'saw_0'))}">
    <DataValues>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="saw_0">
    <RowData>
    <xsl:for-each-group select="current-group()" group-by="saw_2">
    <Cell>
    <xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/saw_4)"/>
    </Cell>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowData>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </DataValues>
    </LocalGridData>
    How can I dynamically set the scale of the Y1 axis (with the lowest value - 100, for example)?
    If I set the axisMinAutoScaled="true" it starts from 0 and it's not the scale I want.
    Thanks so!
    DrPlexi

    Hi Tim!
    The problem is that I have some NaN in my data, and maybe that's why my axis scale starts from 0.
    Here's an example of my data:
    series1: 1,822,475 1,586,400 2,493,331 2,095,273 2,049,296
    series2: 1,818,471 1,706,074 2,574,133 2,042,269 1,982,151
    series3: 2,073,949 1,721,527 2,493,331 NaN NaN
    The automatic scale is from 0 to 2,800K.
    I'd like to have a scale from 1,200K to 2,800K: I want to take the lowest value (1,706,074) and set the scale at a point immediately below in the grid.
    Is it possible to dinamically set a property in the xml linked to the lowest data value?
    Thanks so!

  • Excel chart scale

    I cannot get LabView to set the maximum scale for my chart. Any idea? Thanks
    Attachments:
    test_filter_data_macro.vi ‏165 KB

    Do you get any errors?
    Some of your property and invoke nodes are not wired, so first make sure you are tracking all the errors. This may give you a clue why the scale is not set.
    When I run your VI ( I had to replace your SubVI with Open New Worksheet.vi) I get this activex error -2147352573 from the Axis.MaximumScale property. I saw this error with the report generation VIs, and the following link has the fix:
    Error "-2147352573 Member not found in the xxx.vi" with NI Reports VIs in LabVIEW 6.0
    This may not be a solution to your problem. In your VI, you are trying to get a reference to Axis object from Chart.Axes output. This will
    not work. You should first use Excel.Axes reference wired to Variant to Data function. Then wire the output reference to Axes method Item. Wire xlCategory or xlSeriesAxis to the Type input. Then wire the Item output reference to your Variant to Data that has Excel.Axis reference wired to it.
    I've attached modified VI that first uses Axes method to get the reference to Axis.

  • Chart scales

    Hi. I'm new to this Labview thingy. I'm having a problem, and this might be a stupid problem. And it is stupid enough to make my head go crazy.
    You see, I'm taking voltage input from my NI USB DAQ. In Labview, I connect the DAQ assistant to the waveform chart to view the data.
    In Chart Properties>>Scales. I deselect the Autoscale of X-axis and set it 0 to 5.
    But no matter what i do, it automatically change the x-axis scales to something like 3.38277E+9 to 3.38277E+9
    Any idea?

  • Chart flickering problem when updating members of dataProvider

    Hi all,
    I'm having an issue with a PieChart, where the dataProvider
